IN A DARKROOM

She tries to stand up but fall to the ground with a loud crash. A girl heard it and ran toward her.

"What happened?"

"No. Why ?" The fallen girl starts to cry.

"Why are you crying?? Did you see anything; bindi"

Bindi cried and begged "please take me to the centre "

"Now?"

"Yes please"

The girl help bindi and they went to the centre. Bindi knee down and said

"Why? Why do you have to do that? Will our world be destroyed? That GIRL will she able to save us or will SHE BE the cause for destruction?" A tear roll down from bindi's eyes. When it landed on the ground it emits light but soon disappeared. Her question remains unanswered. Only time can tell the future they will have.

"Wake up " grandma shout.

"If you don't wake up how will you eat khir"

Hearing khir (sweet item) nadia wake up. She looks towards grandma and saw that she was standing near her bedside holding a spatula.

"Good morning dadi(it means grandma)"

"Good morning my foot!!!why you are waking up so late. Can't you wake up early ??"

Dadi signal to remain silent and went door. Through the peephole, she saw 2 women are standing. She opens the door. One woman

"Hello. We are here as we promise "

"Who are you?"dadi asked

"You forget about us?"

"We are here to fulfil our promise. Give us the girl".

Dadi became afraid and said

"No Nadia is 17 now" by this time and came to the front door. and asked

"Who are you?"

"We are the witches "

Nadia can't believe in 21centure she will meet with a witch. Maybe they are crazy.

Nadia said"see. Today is my 18 birthday. So I won't scold you for telling lies. But please think solid lie before you say it"

The hooded women smile and said

"Can you let us in?"

Before dadi can deny Nadia said

"Ok."

Both of them enter the house and the door locked itself. Nadia's eyes got big to see it.

"What...... was that?" she said

Both of the women removed their hood and said

"We are the witch in the wood. It's nice to meet with you. Now you have to leave with us?"

"What?"Nadia asked

A woman name anna said" we made a promise. And we are here to fulfil it"

Another women name Subha said

"Give us the girl or you knew the consequences "

"Please; she is just a child. And I look at her closely. She doesn't have any power. "

Dadi begged.

"We will see If she have power or not. Now give the girl or we can take another measure " anna said and showing a bottle containing purple liquid.

Dadi said"no..no. Please wait. I will give the girl. Just give me some time. I will tell her and pack some dress"

"Ok. We don't have a whole day. Better hurry up"Subha said.

Dadi went upstairs to meet with Nadia.

"Nadia" Nadia look at dadi and run to her. "Who are they dadi?" What they want from us?"

Nadia nod her head and sit beside dad in bed

" 75 years ago a witch predicted that a girl will be born in on the new moon. Who will have enormous power to destroy the world also the power to bind all the creatures in this world together? So from then on all the witch born on the new moon were killed. Out of fear that they can destroy the world. And 18years ago on the new moon twin were born. Both are a girl. And as law, they are ordered to be killed. But twin mother offers something. She said she will sacrifice her life to seal the power of one child. So let one child live. But no one agrees to it. But the one who predicted the future said to let one child live but she gets to decide who will live. The mother and other agreements with her. And she decided upon one child. The child mother sacrifices all her power to seal the magic inside that child .and another was killed. As the child becomes powerless she was cast out in human society. But before that, a promise was made.

when she will turn 18; she must return to the witch world and make sure she doesn't have any power. If she is proven to have any power she must be executed "

"And now the time came and you will have to lave; my dear"

Nadia look towards dadi and said," you are telling the truth? then my mother is a witch and my twin sister is killed due to some stupid predictions?"

"I know you don't want to believe it. But it is true. Your mother wants to make sure at least one of her child may survive. As you father and I was a normal human. So we thought maybe you could be. So whatever remains power you got from your mother she seals it. Now all you have to do is go there and prove that you don't have any power and come back."

"All your mom and dad want is you to live as a normal human"

Nadia was shocked. She starts to think all her life is base on a lie. Now that she knew about her parents and sibling she felt pain. Her dadi used to say her mother died in childbirth along with her sister. And her dad died before she was born. But now she knew all of them died trying to protect her. She starts to cry.

"Now don't cry, Nadia."

"You have to be strong. Now here is the ring"

Nadia took the ring. It has ruby and moonstone. And have 2 fairy wings engraved in it.

"This is the last present your parents gift you. they call it the ring of promise. Promise that you will survive and live happily "

Nadia nods her head and she was determined to fulfil their wish. She will survive and return to her dad. Her dadi gives her a silver chain and makes her wear the ring as a locket. "Now go dear," grandma said.

Nadia hug dadi and cry

"I will return. But please take care of your self"

"I will"
