Chapter 1 Caught For Photographing

In the Night Phoenix Hotel.

Mia Yao leaned against the edge of the bed, wiping her high-end single lens reflex camera.

She was neither a reporter or a journalist, but after what she had gone through these days, she felt that she was perfectly qualified for the job.

Plus, taking the secret photos was exciting. It gave her a sense of adrenaline rush that she had never felt before even if she hadn't gotten her target in the past few days.

If it wasn't for her sister's happiness, she wouldn't have experienced this feeling in her life.

Mia Yao couldn't let her sister marry off to a stranger.

A person that she still hadn't met.

He was said to have gone to a business trip abroad.

It had been three days since she got the news about him. He should be back by now. Even a turtle was quicker than him.

If she still didn't catch him here, then she would stomp into the Su Family as his future sister-in-law just to see who he was.

'Just wait and see, my brother-in-law!'

Maybe it was because she had waited for his appearance for the last three days that she became more curious about him.

Ethan Su... Just the mention of his name already brought up hundreds of questions.

The young master of the largest financial group in the world –the Derrick Group– was said to be terrifying.

In just six years, he had built and expanded a company of his own called the Harrison Group. In fact, the strength and influence of his group was comparable to that of the Derrick Group.

The fact that a man could start such a large company out of nothing showed that he could be as ruthless as he was determined and as decisive as he was cold.

He wasn't a good man, and that was something she was sure of.

Mia Yao shivered at the thought.

She was so frightened as recalling the moment she wanted to go knock on the Su Family's old residence just now.

What the hell was she thinking about to meet such a scary person like him? She had been waiting for him the last few days, and she was already drowning with anxiety.

Mia Yao froze upon hearing footsteps approaching her corner.

Reflexively, she grabbed the camera and rushed to the door.

Someone came in.

She carefully opened the door and squatted as she stared at the camera in her hand, ready to take pictures at any time.

As the footsteps steadily approached, her heart beat was going faster and faster. A part of her hoped that she wouldn't be disappointed by the results.

Finally, two figures appeared in front of her camera. Mia Yao brightened up almost immediately. Without hesitation, she quickly took pictures of the scene.

It was not until there was no one there was she able to scan through all the pictures that she had taken.

Mia Yao frowned.

Who was the man in the blue suit?

It couldn't be Ethan Su. He was supposed to be almost as old as her father, but this man looked so young.

Confusion filled her eyes.

She bent over, waiting to find the next wave of opportunity to take their pictures in case she had missed anything.

"Let's go." A man's voice was heard.

It had pulled her back from a daze. Without another word, she narrowed her eyes at the direction of the voice.

However, she still couldn't help but be confused at the scene.

Was one of them really Ethan Su?

The man who was facing her took off his coat. She narrowed her eyes. This was a man in a black suit.

He was also a young man.

That couldn't be. Ethan Su himself had booked this room. It had taken her a lot of money to get the information from the receptionist.

She narrowed her eyes at the pictures that she had taken. There were two people...

'Are they working for Ethan Su?'

Mia Yao shivered, and she couldn't stop her fingers from shaking.

Suddenly, a pair of leather shoes showed up from the cracks of her door.

Subconsciously, Mia Yao looked up. She saw the expensive belt with a diamond buckle, and a white cotton suit. Without any hesitation, she looked farther up to see a bright and handsome face.

She lowered her gaze in an instant.

His eyes were freezing cold.

It was as if he was trying to shoot daggers into her heart.

Suddenly, his cold fingers gripped against her neck.

She sputtered out as she held onto his hand, trying to wrench it off of her, but it was to no avail. He narrowed his eyes. "What are you up to?"

"I–what do you want to do?" she blurted out.

As he tightened his hold, she was starting to have difficulty to breathe.

She struggled in his grasp, but it was no use. He was too strong.

The next moment, he pulled the camera from one of her hands. "Give it back!"

"You should give back the pictures that you've taken of me first,"

he snapped, sneering. She tried with all her might to grab the camera from him, but it was no use. There was nothing else she could do.

"Do you think you can get away of taking pictures in secret?"

"Sir, you must've misunderstood. I didn't take any pictures of you. You walked into the sight when I photographed others."

"So you're blaming me?" The man looked into her eyes coldly.

It was as if she was staring into the eyes of the devil as he announced her death.

She shivered, softening her voice, "No... Please, let go of me. I–I'll die if you don't."

"Die?" He snorted. "Are you afraid of death?"

"Who isn't?" she countered.

After hearing her words, the man removed his hold and her body was thrown to the ground. The pain that pounded through her nerves sent a dose of adrenaline into her system. "What the hell? I have already explained my side. Why are you being so unreasonable?" she spat out.

'Is he crazy?'

She clenched her fists as she stared back at him. Although there was something about him that made her want to shrink back, she steadied herself.

"I just wanted to take a picture of Ethan Su. It has nothing to do with you!"

Suddenly, as soon as she blurted it all out, the man stepped forward.

Chapter 2 Let's Wait And See

His coldness radiated across her body, rendering her frozen.

She stumbled backwards, trying to get a hold of herself.

Mia tried to suppress her fear and she dug her nails into her palm. "What the hell do you want?" she snapped.

His muscled arm stretched towards her, and without warning, he strangled her once again.

She let out a coughing fit as she gasped for air. Mia felt as if her entire life was falling right before her eyes.

"Tell me, who sent you here?"

The man tightened his grip. The pain that radiated from her chin was unbearable. She blinked the wetness from her eyes as she choked out the next following words, "Let–let me go!"

She could already feel her chests burning from the fear pounding in her heart.

All of a sudden, the man was now on top of her. He gritted his teeth. "Don't worry. I have more ways to make you talk."

He tossed her to the ground.

The pain enveloped her like a blanket of needles, stabbing all over her skin. As she struggled to stand up, she could feel her surrounding environment fading and blurring right before her eyes.

His ruthless words played in her ears over and over again like a piper drawing her to sleep. The fear in heart could no longer be suppressed as she screamed for the help that never arrived.

When Mia opened her eyes, she noticed that she was in an unfamiliar environment.

The strange feeling pulsed through her body as she sat up. As soon as she tried to raise her arms, she gasped in pain. "Shit!"

The man truly showed no mercy.

Enduring the pain, she weakly got out of bed. Grey mist surrounded the estate as the white curtains waved with the nightly winds. She narrowed her eyes at the thin mist, wanting to see what was before her.

Soon, the scenery came into view. She gaped when she realized that this wasn't the hotel she was staying in...

Did he...

Where the hell was she?

Mia ran towards the door as fast as she could. However, the moment she pulled the handle, she saw that a pair of feet blocked her from exiting the room.

Speak of the devil.

As he stared at her, his eyes flashed with emotions that she couldn't decipher. Soon enough, coldness settled on his expression.

"Where am I? Why am I here?" she demanded. Her hand was still on the door knob.

"Don't you know where you are?" he said calmly, entering the room.

She staggered back when he came in. It was not until she took two steps back did she finally stabilize her footing.

The fire in her eyes lit up as she followed him, closing the distance between them. Without another thought, Mia stretched out her arms and blocked him from going anywhere else. "Give me back my camera!"

He stared at her in disdain as if she was just another trash he forgot to discard.

She glared at him and waved her arms exasperatedly. Whatever. It wasn't a big deal anyway. She could wait. However, Mia would keep everything that he had been done to her in her mind.

'Let's wait and see.'

"Do you think you can go out that easily?"

She was about to step out of the room when she stopped.

Mia gritted her teeth, wanting nothing more but to curse the man behind her.

She stomped her foot heavily out of the room, wanting every movement that she made to be heard.

It was not until her slender figure disappeared did he raise his eyebrows. "Aiden," he called.

Outside the corridor, Mia couldn't help but think of the man she had just met. Was he insane or something? He was handsome. It would be a pity if he was a lunatic.

The next moment, Mia's eyes widened when she saw someone standing in front of her. She almost let out a shriek.

The man in front of her was dressed in a black suit. He gazed at her indifferently. "Miss, please go back."

She felt as if a mouthful of blood was stuck in her throat. Seeing as she had no other choice, Mia turned around and returned to her room.

Her anger was fueling inside of her.

Right now, she wanted nothing more than to bury the man alive.

The next morning, Mia got up early.

The room was so quiet that she could only hear herself breathe. She walked barefoot across the carpet and tiptoed towards the door. Last night, she had overheard from the two men that they had something important to get to. When she heard the news of leaving, she couldn't help but laugh.

Do they really think that this villa could stop her from leaving once they were gone?

When she heard the roar of a car from downstairs, Mia jumped towards the curtain. It wasn't until she saw the luxurious car disappear from her sight did she finally return to her bed to put on her white shoes.

Two hours later, a taxi arrived into the villa complex from the east. Mia called out for the taxi anxiously. She waved her hands around as she turned cautiously behind her, wanting to make sure that no one was following her. The driver shot her a suspicious look, but he didn't mind at all.

After saying her thanks, Mia got into the car.

Chapter 3 In A Mess

A few days ago, Mia walked out of home confidently with her head up high. Now, she was in a mess.

She had no idea that she would become such miserable after that,

all because of that violent maniac.

She didn't know that bad luck could follow her through the moment she met the two men back in the hotel room.

Gritting her teeth, Mia walked towards the villa.

She gently knocked on the door. Normally, she would've just opened the door and entered, but now, that wasn't possible. She needed to sneak in as quietly as possible.

The door quickly opened. Mia grinned up at the woman who had opened the door. "Emma."

"Miss Mia! You're back." Emma noticed that Mia's clothes were covered with specks of dirt. She furrowed her eyebrows. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. I'll go upstairs and wash myself first."

She wouldn't even speak of such a shameful thing.

Emma walked her up to the stairway. However, she went to a halt when she heard the sound of laughter coming from the living room.

Mia pursed her lips.

Usually, her father would be in the company working at this hour. She couldn't help but wonder who the guest was.

Two steps away, she could hear the guest's calm voice reverberate across the room. Her body went rigid as if she was just hit by an electric shock. Without another word, she sprinted up the stairs.

Emma didn't expect that Mia would turn around this drastically. She staggered backward, trying to stabilize her footing.

However, their noise had already attracted everyone in the living room. Ethan furrowed his eyebrows and spotted a slim figure passing by their gazes. She was dressed in a pair of white shoes – the same ones that the woman had whom he had left at home.

"What happened?" William Yao frowned, not expecting that such a situation would happen especially in front of his important guest. He narrowed his eyes.

Emma quickly bowed her head. "It's Miss Mia."

"Mia? Ask her to come here." William Yao sighed as he turned to the man on the opposite side of the sofa. "She's been really spoiled by us. A rash girl – that one."

Ethan shook his head indifferently.

Mia ran into her room within a few seconds and locked the door behind her. She must have heard his voice wrong, right?

Rearranging her thoughts, she quickly grabbed clothes to change.

Someone knocked onto the door.

Although the sound of knocking was gentle, it still made her feel uneasy. She slowly looked at the door and approached it step by step. Her shoulders were tense.

When Mia opened the door, she relaxed when she saw that it was Emma. "Master's looking for you."

"Now?"

Emma nodded.

"Okay, I see." Emma stood there as Mia readied herself.

After the quick shower she had, she felt much better. Drops of water dripped from her black hair, but she didn't care.

Besides, this was her home – her territory. She didn't care how important the guest was to his father. She would definitely deliver some payback.

Once she had arrived in the living room, the laughter in the hall went to a halt. Finally, her mother called her over, "Mia, come here."

Her mother had always been in charge of everything at home while her father and brother, Jacob Yao, were in charge of the company. While, Mia's only task was to study hard at school. However, that all changed swiftly after her graduation. Now, she needed to deal with a guest.

"How could you act like this?" William Yao said lowly.

Mia lowered her head and glanced at her wet hair. She had always done this before, and she had never been scolded.

As soon as she sat down, the man's sharp gaze fell upon her. Mia looked up, only to widen her eyes at the sight of the man. "Why are you here?" she demanded.

Her words attracted the attention of the people in the room. Without another word, she hid behind her sister's back, Cathy Yao, avoiding his cold gaze.

"You know each other?" Cathy Yao asked softly.

"No. How could we know each other?" Mia laughed awkwardly.

"He's Ethan Su. Are you surprised?"

"Who? Who is he?" Mia's eyes widened at the name.

"Ethan Su." Cathy Yao smiled shyly.

His name was like a strike of lightning,

and it just exploded right in front of Mia.

Ethan Su!

He was actually Ethan Su!

"You really are spoiled," Sara Zhang said, shaking her head.

Her hand tightened around her wrist, as if trying to warn her daughter as to where she stood.

Seeing the woman in front of him, Ethan laughed. "I think you've raised your daughters very well, Mr. Yao."

This was already very convenient for him.

He already found the woman who had tried to run away from him.

"Mr. Su, you flatter me," William Yao replied politely.

Mia dug her nails into her palms. From the moment she had entered the room, she could already feel their eyes all on her as if she was a clown about to perform.

The footsteps came closer and closer, and she subconsciously looked up only to see that Aidan had walked over to Ethan.

After some whispers, Aidan looked up. "My master will marry Miss Mia."
