Chapter 1 A Night with Alpha

"Do you like it, baby?" A tickling breath and rough voice hit Veronica's neck. The man's soft and firm palm traveled to her waist and up her chest.

"A-Alpha... Ngh." She couldn't stop a sweet and seductive moan to escape from her lips.

"You seem to use this erotic body of yours to lure me, aren't you?" He licked her neck while a grin appeared on his lips. "You know that our pack is mortally opposed to each other, that's why you're doing this, right?"

"No, please, Alpha."

Her green eyes were now completely submerged in the Alpha's blue gaze in front of her. She could feel the bulge inside his jeans pressing against her stomach as he pulled her waist even tighter. The heat that now enveloped her entire being caused the inside of her underwear to get even more wet, and even the air conditioner that had been put on had no impact.

The Alpha grinned at her, whispered in her ears, and sent shivers down her spine, "Open your mouth."

"Yes," she answered as if she were a slave who was ready to what he would command.

"Good girl."

The Alpha instantly grabbed her hair and claimed her with a kiss as if he was a lion on the prowl. After removing her dress, his hand moved once more, this time, slipping under her panties.

"Alpha, there," Veronica growled softly as she lost all sense of her own body. Because of the various ways the Alpha stranger had been rubbing her, she was no longer able to control or even slow down her body's response.

He recognized Alpha by the peculiar fragrance emanating from it. It had a lavender scent, which made her feel even more inebriated.

"Ah!"

When the Alpha lifted her effortlessly and flung her, she was caught off guard. She swallowed as she noticed that his blue eyes progressively grew red, a sign of anger or perhaps excitement.

"Tonight, you can't escape under my arms. Even if your legs are worn out and crippled, I will thrust. Even though your voice is hoarse from groaning, I'll make sure that you will still moan my name and implore me to go on."

He approached her and prepared to invade her but before he could do that-

"Alpha--!"

Veronica sprung abruptly and firmly from the bed to catch her breath. Her heart felt like it was ready to burst out of her chest, so she held it tight. She eventually calmed down and noticed that she was not in her room when she looked around the white space.

"Ugh!" She held her head as it suddenly stung. The second time she wandered her eyes, she saw its neatness and spoke to herself, "Where the hell am I?"

After half an hour, she just realized she was in a hotel after repeatedly staring into oblivion, "Fuck! How I wish I had already shifted so I could ask my wolf what the hell happened to me last night!" She growled and flung the cushion to the ground.

'All I can remember is I sneaked at the annual Alpha meeting with Ava. After that, we drink some camphaigne and...after that-" She stopped in the middle of her thought, pulled her hair with irritation and shouted, "Ugh! I can't remember anything!"

"Why am I thinking about these things, I can ask Ava directly!"

She stood up to return to their packhouse; however....

"Aghh!!" She screamed when she suddenly collapsed to the ground and felt a peculiar aching between her legs.

Inhale...

Exhale...

Inhale...

Exhale...

She did that over and over and slowly closed her eyes to remember what really happened to her inside this room.

A few minutes later, it seemed as if her world collapsed as each the stranger Alpha's kiss and caress gradually returned to her. His red eyes, the lavender smell that was even more intoxicating than the campaign she drank and his breath that penetrated her entire being.

'What the fuck have I done?' While there was a tears in the corner of her eyes, she mind-linked Ava, her little sister, "Ava where are you?!"

"I should be the one asking that, where are you?!"

"I-I don't know. Just tell father that I went somewhere. Please!"

"What? Why? Tell me where the hell are you-"

Ava couldn't finish what she was saying because Veronica had cut the mind-link and even though her knees and body were still weak, she quickly ran away from the hotel.

'Father shouldn't know that I slept with Alpha Jaxon,' she scarily thought.

If Alpha Elijah, her father, discovered about this, she didn't know what would happen to her. The Dark Blood Pack, Alpha Jaxon Knight's pack had long been a strong rival of the Shadow Moon Pack, her pack. And since her father was the Alpha of their pack, and she was the eldest daughter, she destined to inherit the throne as the next Alpha of the pack.

[Shadow Moon Packhouse]

"Where did you go? We've been looking for you for a while now, why did you suddenly disappeared without saying anything?" A cold voice of her father greeted her with Ava beside him, "You know you're not eighteen yet, you haven't shifted and your safety is important because you're the next Alpha of the Shadow Moon Pack."

"Honey, you can talk to her later after she rested," her mother joined their conversation.

"Right, sister, where did you go last night?" Ava asked.

Veronica looked carefully at her because it was surprising that she didn't know what happened to her. They were the only two together last night and she didn't know why she was the only one who passed out.

"I'm sorry father, it won't happen again."

"It's better not!"

Veronica just bowed her head to her father's booming voice.

[Three weeks later]

*At the dining table*

Veronica looked at the food spread on the table and like the previous days, the smell of them made her sick. She couldn't take it anymore, so she stood up and quickly went straight to the sink.

"Bleeechh... Blarggghhh."

"Veronica!"

Veronica straightened up as her heart didn't stop beating faster, faster than the rat, faster than leopard. As if she was caught with her crime. Even though her back was facing her father, it was as if his red eyes were penetrating her back.

"Y-Yes, father?"

"I've been noticing your behavior for a few weeks."

"R-Really? Don't worry about me, father. I just haven't been feeling well these past few weeks-"

She couldn't finish what she was saying because she got scared of the deafening sound of the chair where her father was sitting on and in just a second, he grabbed her arm, "Then, let me assist you to Doctor Daniel."

"Father, I can do it myself."

Alpha Elijah stopped listening to Veronica and took her to the hospital where the Doctor he was referring to was. Her father forced her in to be checked by Daniel, in the end she could do nothing but follow.

After a few hours of waiting, the Doctor returned with the results. He approached them with a smile, when he was about to present the result to Veronica, her father quickly stole it.

Even though her nervousness was beyond measure, she waited for Alpha Elijah's reaction. After looking at the result for a few minutes, her father gave it back to her but his reaction was colder now. She slowly took the paper with trembling hands and almost fell to the floor when she saw the result.

Positive Pregnancy Test.

"Abort it."

"F-father..." Big tears fell from Veronica's eyes. Aborting a child from her womb and flesh was something she could not take, "I-I can't do that. It's my baby. It's your grandson or grand daughter."

"You are about to turn eighteen and the day is approaching when you will shift and meet your fated mate, you still have time to do the abortion."

"F-father... please."

"Then, who's the father?!"

Veronica could hardly swallow her saliva because of Alpha Elijah's pressured question to her. She stared at her father for a long time but he returned only a cold stare. At first, she was hesitant to answer but with the idea that the Dark Blood Pack and Shadow Moon Pack could be a strong ally, she couldn't help but say it.

"It's Alpha Jaxon-"

*Smack*

A strong slap landed on her cheek as if her head was about to be cut off because of its extreme force. She could feel the surrounding heat from it while her head was now turned to the left.

"You are a disgrace to my forefather and bloodline!"

Chapter 2 Without Alpha Jaxon

Veronica's Point of View

[Eight Months Later]

I took a close look at my blissfully sleeping son. For the months that he was inside of me, I believed that no one would be delighted that he would be born, thus a variety of emotions ran through my chest. However, I was mistaken because it didn't cross my mind that the Moon Goddess would replace what I lost with an even better gift.

"I'll make sure that the life I provide you is not taken away by anybody else, Morgan, and I won't allow you feel as like you are missing out on the love you deserve."

I kissed his forehead and saw his small dimple even though he couldn't hear what I said. I would make sure that my son and I being rogue would not be an obstacle for him to enjoy a normal life.

A painful wound stung my heart as I remembered the past. The day my father found out about my pregnancy, he wanted me to abort Morgan but because I didn't agree, he became very angry with me. I told my mother that I wanted to save the baby because I believed that blood was more important than anything else-but I was wrong.

They outcast me. They shunned me.

Throughout my pregnancy, I didn't shift nor did I find my mate, it became one of the reason why they chose to kick me out from the Shadow Moon Pack.

I wiped my tears as I tell myself that I shouldn't live to my past.

When I calmed down, three nurses came in to check on me just a few seconds later. Nevertheless, my expectation that they would treat me well like when I was a member of the Shadow Moon Pack seemed to had changed.

"Disgusting. How could she give birth without a mate?"

"An unmated and got pregnant?"

"Didn't you know that she should've been the next Alpha of Shadow Moon Pack?"

Even though the nurses were whispering, I could hear what they were talking about. Despite me became a rogue and an unmated werewolf, I still hadn't lost my sharp sense of hearing. I still had an Alpha blood so I didn't understand why they would gossip in front of me.

They started testing my body and other things, while they were doing that, I could feel the hardness of their every move, as if they were angry and disgusted for even touching me.

If I had been the Alpha of the Shadow Moon Pack, I was sure they wouldn't have treated me like this. They might kiss the ground just to get my attention.

I just held my breath when they finished checking me, and since I had just finished crying and my throat was dry, I wanted to ask them a favor, "Can I have a glass of water?"

"Why? Why don't you ask the unknown statues werewolf that got you pregnant?" A nurse replied rudely as she rolled her eyes.

Her two companions laughed. When I was about to open my mouth to answer them, one of her companions spoke again, "You're going to eat later at the cafeteria, aren't you? Why don't you just take it from there?"

"What?" I couldn't believe it.

"I said what I said. Anyway, after you eat, I'll come back here to assist you and move you to the unmated section."

After the nurse stated that, they had already turned back and left. I had to adjust to a life that was distinct from the one I lived in the past. I wanted to eat and drink, but I refrained since I walked straight to a nurse and asked for help finding the unmated section.

When I arrived, I couldn't claim there were a lot of wolves in this area, but I also couldn't say there weren't many. I looked around and noticed an empty bed, so I went right there to lay Morgan down, but as soon as I did, all the females' attention turned to me. They didn't seem to have any plans to harm me, so I was not sure if I should be terrified or relieved.

I just ignored their strange stares at me. It wouldn't be long before I could get out of here.

Weeks went by as I gradually recovered. Perhaps the reason my mending process was quicker than some here who still hadn't regained their power aura was because I was of Alpha blood.

As I was putting Morgan to sleep while seated on the bed, I was astonished when two women stood in front of me. As I waited for them to speak, I realized that they were keeping their gaze fixed on me when I looked up.

"Is there something I can help you with?" I broke their silence.

The first woman was tall and white, her eyes narrowed as she held her baby with the baby's head on her neck. Another woman was also tall while her color is Tan.

The white woman replied, "No, we're just astonished that out of all the patients here, you're the only one that recovered quicker."

"That's right, your boy doesn't cry either, unlike some of the other newborns here whose cries are distressing-"

"Sshh!" Even though we had Beta, Omega, Alpha, or Rogue here, they were still wolves with keen hearing, so I promptly order them to keep quiet. I didn't want to get in any mischief.

They exchanged glances and understood what I tried to communicate right away. Some women were watching at us when I looked around, because of that, I searched around for something piercing, afraid they'd hear our next conversation.

I hastily searched my backpack for a needle injection, and I sneakily pricked my palm. I did the same to them by grabbing their free palms as well.

When our palms had the same amount of blood, I signaled them to stick it on my palm to form the Blood compact and we would have a mind-link.

I felt an electricity run through my brain, a proof that our minds had linked.

I tried to communicate with them using the mind-link, "The reason I have recovered fast is because of my Alpha blood."

I could clearly see the shock in their eyes. They looked at each other and blinked their eyes several times.

"That's why we noticed that you are so different from the ordinary rogue. By the way, I'm Tiffany Rock." The white woman answered me.

"And I'm Sara Gordon." The Tan color girl now.

I smiled at them then cut the mind-link, "And I'm Veronica Silva. The supposed to be Alpha of Shadow Moon Pack."

After my conversation with Sara and Tiffany, I gradually got close with them. They told me their life stories and like me, they were also just an unmated mother.

Since that time, we have assisted one another with our children and daily survival. It was at that point that I understood that your title or status could not determine how happy you would be in life. What you choose to do was not decide by your sense of honor.

And me being unmated would also make no difference. I would raised Morgan with my own- without Alpha Jaxon.

Chapter 3 Our Child

Veronica's Point of View

[Three months later]

It had been a few months after I was discharged from the hospital. Due to the fact that we lacked a home to return to, my son and I were temporarily living in a car parked close to the train station. It stung to consider that the packhouse, which I was keen to lead on, suddenly viewed me diversely. From a purported Alpha blood werewolf, I inevitably became a rogue who belonged to no pack.

It was amusing how one mistake could alter the entire path of your life-how everything appeared to vanish in the blink of an eye.

As Morgan slept off in my arms, I peered down at him. I haven't slept in days because I have to watch him; my body was exhausted, and my eyes were threatening to fail.

I was ready to lay down for a nap when a knock on my window startled me so much that I nearly leaped out of my seat.

I tiredly rolled down the window while my eyes were dull from sleepiness. As soon as it came down, the guard's eyes landed on Morgan, so I instinctively hid him in his brown eyes.

The guard shook his head as if disappointed by what he saw, "Miss, the train station is not a place for children."

I shut my mouth because of his statement, and it seemed like a canine teeth bit my heart until it bled. I couldn't answer him and just protected Morgan with my arms. Until now, I was still not sure about our safety because my wolf still hadn't come out. In the past, I had never considered how significant it would be to be wolf-less.

After the guard waited a few minutes for my answer but didn't receive any, he continued, "It's better if you let child services handle your child. You're still young, Miss, you can have a better life than this state that you are facing now-"

Without thinking, I replied, "No!" and gave Morgan another bear embrace. "I can raise him. I will never abandon him. Even if I die only to give him the life I have to offer him, I am ready!"

"Youngster now a days...Tsk. Tsk. Tsk." The man laughed at me now, "Don't you know that you're not the first woman that did the same thing here? Young woman, you should listen to my advice since it's the correct thing to do."

I could feel the rage rising in my chest, but I kept my composure. Fighting this guard would be a bad idea because Morgan and I need a place to stay. I insisted on answering him even though it went against my feelings.

"I'll take your advice into consideration. T-Thank you."

The man did not respond and just walked away. I drew a deep breath as he finally left my line of sight. After that, I closed my eyes, slammed my head on the steering wheel, and thought hard.

I was in that position for an hour until an idea came to my mind.

Despite knowing it would be risky, I hurriedly started the car and drove toward the Dark Blood pack's territory.

I was, however, directly across from their territory when a patrol of the Dark Blood pack, numbering around seven, halted my vehicle. Even though they couldn't see me inside due to my tinted glass, they stared straight as if they could.

I repeatedly swallowed while praying to the Moon Goddess that these werewolves wouldn't harm Morgan. I opened the car door with vigilance and stepped out cautiously.

I saw the astonished eyes of the beta patrols on me as soon as I got off. Perhaps they hadn't heard that my pack had already reprimanded me. I used the opportunity to speak with Alpha Jaxon.

"I bring no chaos. I just came to talk to Alpha Jaxon about something that only the two of us can talk about."

The beta patrols gave me a suspicious look as I said. One of the patrol moved away and appeared to mind-link Alpha Jaxon.

After a short while, he returned. "I received the Alpha Order. He allowed you to see him, so let me accompany you."

I felt as though a thorn had been taken out of my chest when he said that. I turned to face my son, who was still unaware of what was going on.

'Morgan, you'll be meeting your father soon.'

The omega servants formed two lines to let me pass as we arrived at their packhouse. They weren't what I intended here, so I just didn't pay attention to them.

"You can climb to the top floor, where the Alpha's room is the sole one, and he is in it."

I climbed the steps as I gave the person who accompanied me a nod. Every stride I take was marked with a strange apprehension, a dryening of the throat, and the sensation that the air I was walking through was vanishing.

I already arrived in front of his door, but was so deep in concentration that I didn't realize it. As I raised my free hand to knock, a chilly voice from inside startled me.

"How long do you intend to linger there?"

There was nothing particularly noteworthy about what he said, but even so, my cheeks flushed, and the recollection of our one-night stand-which seemed to have happened yesterday-came rushing back to me like a waterfall. I took a deep breath and bit my lip before fully opening the door.

As soon as I entered, his blue eyes from our first night together greeted me. He was sitting in a corner that had a manner of a king, and his left hand was whirling a wine glass.

"What evil wind prompted you to land on my territory, Veronica?"

When he uttered my name, I tightened my hold on Morgan. My veins were filled with an odd electricity and aura, as if my blood recognized his voice. But I picked up on something in his statement-

Does the fact that he didn't address me as "Alpha Veronica" indicate that he was aware that I had left the Shadow Moon Pack?

Many thoughts crossed my head, but I dismissed them all. I should claim that my purpose for coming here was solely about my son.

"I need your support."

He arched an eyebrow, landed his eyes to Mason, sat back on the chair, and crossed his legs before he asked, "Support to what? Is it because you aren't the new Alpha of the Shadow Moon pack that you want me to support you, hmm?"

Bingo!

Yes, he was already aware of what transpired.

"No, I require your assistance in order to raise my child-our child-instead!"

He got up from his seat in response to what I stated but remained calm. "Our?"

"Yes, Jaxon Knight! You are the reason I lost everything, have you forgotten what happened to us during the annual Alpha meeting?"

"What the fuck? What comes to your mind that did you believe that this royal Alpha in front of you will sleep with you? Are you losing your mind? How old are you again? Seventeen? Eighteen?"

"That night, despite knowing that our packs were pridefully opposed to each other, you still took advantage of me, and that is the truth!"

"Fuck!" His voice roared now, which caused Morgan to wake up out of sheer dread. "I couldn't remember anything! If what you are saying is true; then, show me some proof!"

I darkly fixed my gaze on him as Morgan started crying. After a minute, my son's eyes started to fall again and this time I scolded his father in a low voice, "This! This child! Isn't this proof enough for you?"

"You will bring a youngster to tell me that's your evidence?" he grinned inanely at me as his eyes turned darker. "I wonder if you just picked it up somewhere to catch my attention-"

I interrupted him mid-sentence and gave him a forceful slap on the cheek. "Don't imply that I just picked him up from somewhere because you don't know the struggles I went through while he was inside of me! If you don't like my son, there's nothing I can do."

I hurriedly wiped the tears from my eyes and looked away from him to gather my breath. The rejection of one's own pack, in my opinion, was the most agonizing of all, yet seeing my son rejected by his own father made me feel strangely depressed. My chest was being squeezed while having sharp nails driven into it.

I already ran away to that hell room, walked down the steps, and was about to leave. However, a forceful hand grabbed my arm, forcing me to return to my position.

I was about to lash out and become furious but I was taken aback to recognize a familiar face.

It's Alpha Jaxon's Beta!

"You... That night with Alpha. I recognized your smell," Uriel Rico, the Beta mumbled.
