Chapter One

"You have ten seconds to take your hand off my ass before I break your fingers."

Jenny's voice cut through the buzzing bar, sharp and ice-cold.

The whole restaurant fell silent as all eyes fell on her.

Leo didn't move.

Instead, he gave a sly smile. It spread slowly across his face, like he was savoring the moment.

His fingers still pressing against the curve of her ass like he owned it.

"Feisty," he murmured, blue eyes gleaming with something dark. Something challenging.

"I like that"

Jenny's rage exploded. Without hesitation, she grabbed the nearest drink off the counter and threw it in his face.

The crash of ice and liquor filled the room.

A sharp gasp echoed through bar.

Leo's jaw tightened, his face dripping with expensive whiskey. His expression darkened into something dangerous but not angry.

No, that was the worst part. He didn't look furious. He looked entertained.

Jenny's stomach sank.

Shit! She murmured beneath her voice.

"You've got some nerve," Leo's said, his voice calm as he wiped his face with the sleeve of his stained expensive suit.

"You've got some disgusting hands," Jenny shot back fired back at an instant.

Her fellow bartender rushed in, grabbing her arm.

"Jesus, Jenny WTF!"

The manager was already pushing through the crowd.

"What the hell is going on?"

Jenny crossed her arms, ignoring the icy fear creeping up her spine.

Leo looked at the manager, but his face didn't give away what he was thinking. Then, very slowly, he put his hand in his jacket pocket, pulled out a fancy handkerchief, and wiped his face.

"She threw a drink on me," he said, voice almost amused. "For no reason."

"No reason? This bastard grabbed my ass..." Jenny snapped, her eyes fuming with anger.

"I assume, you don't believe her," Leo interrupted smoothly, straightening his suit.

"And I don't particularly appreciate being assaulted in a place I spend a lot of money at."

Jenny gawked. "Are you being serious right now?"

"Jenny." The manager's voice was tense.

She turned.

Her boss facial expression said it al, she prayed within her.

The manager sighed, shaking his head. "You're fired."

The words hit like a punch.

Jenny breath caught.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me." The manager looked genuinely disappointed. "You don't throw drinks on VIPs."

"VIPs?" she scoffed. "the motherfucker grabbed my ass"

The manager hesitated, glancing at Leo, then sighed.

"It's done. Clean out your locker."

Jenny's stomach twisted.

Leo tilted his head, that insufferable smirk still there

"Tough break, sweetheart" Leo said, his stood up and within seconds someone came running in with another suit.

Her fingers curled into fists. "I hope you choke on your next drink."

He chuckled, low and dark. "No, no. No need to be bitter."

Jenny turned on her heel before she punched his teeth in.

She was done with men like him.

__Jenny's Apartment__

It was past 9pm.

Jenny's hands were still shaking when she reached her apartment.

Fired.

She had just lost her only source of income, and she didn't even regret it. The look on Leo's face when she drenched him in whiskey? Priceless.

But as soon as she walked in, her phone rang.

She almost didn't answer. But when she saw the number, she was shocked for a moment

The family hospital.

Her chest tightened. "Hello?"

"Miss Andrews?" The voice was too calm. "Your mother was admitted...""

Jenny's world spun.

"I'm coming!" she gasped, grabbing her keys and running out the door.

Leo's Residence 🏨

Leo sat in his penthouse, shirt unbuttoned, drink in hand.

He was still thinking about her.

Jennifer Andrews.

The wild little bartender with too much attitude and no filter.

He should be pissed. She had embarrassed him in front of an entire bar. But instead of anger, there was only intrigue.

And then, his phone buzzed.

He almost ignored it. But when he saw the caller,

His father.

Leo sighed, answering lazily. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"You're cut off""

"WTF are you talking about Dad?"

Leo asked as he puffed out a huge smoke out of his mouth.

His father continued. "You're reckless, Leo. You have no discipline, no stability. So, until you can prove otherwise, you are no longer CEO of Smith Enterprises."

"You've lost your damn mind" Leo said angrily.

"You've got watch your mouth son, you have your mum to thank because if it was left to me, I'd throw you out of my damn mansion you're living in" Mr. Richard said and Leo went silent.

"Good, Get married, settle down and we will talk"

Marriage.

The one thing he swore he'd never do.

But without money? He was nothing.

Just then, an idea popped into his head.

A slow smirk curled his lips.

Maybe there was a way to turn this shitstorm into an opportunity.

__Lifesaver Hospital 🏥__

Jenny sat in the waiting room, her leg bouncing.

The doctor's words still echoed in her ears.

"She needs surgery immediately. Without it, she won't survive the month."

$500,000.

That was the price of her mother's life.

Her hands trembled. She had nothing.

How the hell was she supposed to come up with that kind of money?

Then...

Her phone rang.

The Caller's ID was hidden, for a moment she wanted to ignore the call but after several rings she gave in.

She hesitated, then answered. "Hello?"

"For a moment, I thought you were not going to pick up" His cold voice echoed from the other end.

"Leo Smith"

Jenny blood ran cold.

No. No way.

"What the hell do you want?" she snapped.

"To make you an offer you can't refuse."

Chapter Two

Jenny's grip on her phone tightened.

Leo Smith.

His name alone sent a rush of goosebumps all over her body.

"What the hell do you want?" she snapped, her voice sharper than she intended.

For a moment, there was silence.

Then, his voice soothing, arrogant, unbothered.

"To make you an offer you can't refuse."

Her stomach twisted. She didn't trust him. Not after what he'd pulled at the bar earlier on. Not after he made her boss get her fired because he thinks he's wealthy.

"If this is your sick way of rubbing salt in the wound..." Jenny barely said before she was interrupted...

"It's business, sweetheart." He cut her off, voice like liquid steel.

"And from the look of things, seems like you just got fired all.thanks to me but what am about to offer you is life changing" Leo Said

"And Oh, did I forget to mention? I had your sick mum needs surgery!"

Jenny's heart slammed against her ribs.

How the hell did he know that?

"Excuse me?" she snapped.

"And how much is the cost for the surgery again?" Leo asked

Jenny's blood ran ice-cold.

"How did he know all this shits," Jenny asked herself as looked around to see if he hung around.

"You're stalking me now?"

"Hardly." He sounded almost bored, as if her entire life crisis was just another business transaction. "I make it my job to know useful information. And right now, Jennifer Andrews, you are very useful to me."

Her fingers curled into a fist. "Go to hell, Leo."

She moved to hang up, but his next words froze her in place.

"Marry me."

Jenny stared at the phone, her brain short-circuiting.

"What?" she breathed.

"Marry me," he repeated, voice calm, deadly serious. "In exchange, I'll pay for your mother's surgery. Every last dime."

Jennifer stomach dropped.

This had to be a joke. A sick, twisted rich-man joke.

"You think this is funny?" she whispered.

"I don't joke about money."

Her pulse pounded.

Of all the insane, ridiculous, completely insulting things-

"You're out of your damn mind."

Leo chuckled, like he'd expected that reaction. "Maybe. But I'm also your best option."

Jenny shot up from the hospital chair, pacing furiously. "You're insane if you think I would ever marry you."

"Well, sweetheart, you might want to start reconsidering."

His voice was so damn smug, so infuriatingly confident, that she wanted to throw her phone across the room.

But she didn't.

Because deep down, beneath all the rage, all the disgust, one horrifying truth gripped her... This might be the only opportunity to save her mum's life, she can't afford to loose the only family she had.

He was right.

"Incase you change your mind, Meet me at Leo-Berries Mansion and no need for an address. Literally every driver in towns know there" Leo said and Jenny didn't bother to utter a word.

"Nighty..." Leo said and hung the call.

Jenny heaved heavily.

"How could that jerk as me to marry him?"

"I can't, that's not even possible..."

Jenny was interrupted as she took a glance at her mom lying critically ill on the hospital bed.

The Next Day, Smith's Residence

Jenng sat across from Leo in a private lounge, heart hammering.

This was a mistake. A huge mistake.

The moment she had agreed to meet him, she knew she was playing with fire.

And now, as she sat in front of him, watching as he sipped his whiskey with infuriating ease, wearing that damn smirk.. she realized just how much power he had over her.

"So," Leo leaned forward, watching her carefully, "let's make this quick. You need money. I need a wife. It's simple."

Jenny's hands clenched in her lap.

"Why me?" she demanded. "Out of all the women in the world, why the hell would you pick me?"

Leo chuckled, swirling his glass.

"Because you're desperate, and desperate people don't ask too many questions"

"Go to hell" Jenny said

"You keep saying that," he mused, "but sweetheart, I'm already there."

She exhaled sharply, forcing herself to stay calm. "What do you get out of this?"

Leos eyes darkened, the teasing smirk fading slightly. "My father cut me off."

Jenny blinked. "You mean..."

"No money. No company. No control." He took another sip of whiskey, voice unbothered, but his fingers tightened around the glass. "Unless I get married."

Jenny's stomach twisted.

"So, what? You want a fake wife so Daddy can give you back your toys?"

Leo's smirk returned. "Exactly."

She let out a harsh laugh. "You're unbelievable."

"Flattered."

She shot him a glare. "And what happens after?"

Leo leaned back lazily. "One year. That's the contract length. You'll play the role of my obedient little wife"

"Obedient?" Jenny snapped.

"Poor choice of words?" Leos lips curled.

"Damn right" She said as she clenched her jaw.

Leo chuckled, clearly enjoying this too much. "After a year, we divorce. You walk away with a fully paid medical bill and a generous settlement. No strings attached."

Her head spun.

This was insane. Completely, utterly insane.

But...

Her mother's life was on the line.

She exhaled slowly. "And if I say no?"

Leo didn't blink. "Then I walk away, and you figure out how to come up with half a million dollars in the next two weeks."

Jenny chest tightened.

She had no other options.

Absolutely none.

Her hands shook under the table. "I want a contract."

Leo's smirk widened, like he'd already won.

"Of course."

Jenny swallowed hard, staring at the man in front of her.

Cold

Arrogant

Infuriatingly powerful.

And now, he was about to become her husband.

Chapter 3 Three

Contract Marriage with Lucifer

Chapter Three

Jenny sat frozen in her chair.

The weight of what she'd just done pressed down on her chest like a boulder.

She had agreed.

To marry Leo Smith.

To become his contract wife in exchange for her mother's life.

Her fingers trembled as she clutched the folder, staring at the neat, black ink of the contract. Her name would soon be on that paper, tying her to the most insufferable man on the planet.

Across the table, Leo watched her with an expression that was half amusement, half victory.

"You look like you just signed a deal with the devil," he mused.

Jenny shot him a deadly glare. "I did."

Leo chuckled, sipping his whiskey. "Welcome to hell, sweetheart."

Her jaw clenched. "I have conditions."

Leo smirked. "Of course you do."

She inhaled sharply. "No intimacy."

His brow lifted. "Afraid you won't be able to resist me?"

She nearly threw the contract at his face. "I mean it, Leo. This is a business deal, not a real marriage."

His smirk widened, but he leaned back lazily. "Fine. No touching, unless, of course, we're in public. My father has to believe it's real."

Her stomach twisted. The thought of pretending to love him, kissing him, touching him made her sick.

But she had no choice.

She swallowed hard. "I also want my own room."

Leo rolled his eyes. "Done."

"And no interference in my personal life."

His smirk vanished. His eyes darkened.

"I don't give a damn what you do in your free time, sweetheart," he said coolly. "But while you're my wife, you'll act like it. No other men."

Jenny chest tightened. "Excuse me?"

His gaze sharpened, all amusement gone. "You heard me."

Jenny clenched her fists. "You can sleep with whoever you want, but I can't?"

His lips curled. "You're catching on."

Rage boiled in her veins.

She wanted to slap that smug look off his face, to remind him that she wasn't some weak, obedient woman he could control.

But her mother's hospital bed flashed in her mind. The beeping machines. The oxygen mask.

She exhaled shakily.

"Fine." The word tasted like poison.

Leo leaned forward, eyes gleaming with victory. "Then it's settled."

And just like that, her fate was sealed.

The Smith Family House 🏨

Jenny had never seen a house so massive.

Or, correction a mansion.

As the driver pulled up to Smith Estate, her stomach knotted. It looked like something out of a billionaire drama-a sprawling, three-story modern fortress with glass walls, endless balconies, and a driveway that could fit an entire parking lot.

She hated it already.

"You're gawking, sweetheart."

Jenny shot Leo a glare as he stepped out of the car. "I'm mentally preparing for the nightmare I just signed up for."

He smirked. "That's cute."

She resisted the urge to kick him in the shin.

As they reached the front door, Leo barely lifted a finger before a butler in a crisp suit pulled it open.

"Welcome home, Mr. Smith," the man said smoothly.

Leo barely acknowledged him as he stepped inside. "Where's Julia?"

"She's waiting in the lounge."

Jenny frowned. "Who's Julia?"

Leo didn't answer. He just kept walking, and Jenny had no choice but to follow him into the lion's den.

The moment she entered the lounge, a sharp, feminine voice sliced through the air.

"You've got to be joking."

Jenny turned.

A stunning woman stood by the bar, holding a glass of red wine. She had flawless golden-blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, and an expensive designer dress that clung to her slender frame.

She looked like she belonged in this mansion.

Unlike Jenny, who suddenly felt like an unwanted stray cat.

"Julia," Leo drawled lazily, grabbing a drink. "Be nice."

Julia's lips curled as she stared Jenny down.

"So, this is your wife?" she sneered.

Jenny's hands balled into fists.

Leo smirked. "Jealous?"

Julia laughed coldly. "Please. I just didn't think you'd settle for someone so... plain."

Oh, hell no.

Jenny's blood boiled.

She took a step forward, eyes blazing. "And I didn't think rich women still acted like high school mean girls, but here you are."

Julia's eyes flashed. "Excuse me?"

Leo choked back a laugh.

Jenny crossed her arms. "Let me guess, you're one of his playthings?"

Julia's jaw tightened.

Leo smirked. "She's my father's business partner."

Jenny blinked. That wasn't what she expected.

Julia shot Leo a sharp look. "We were also something else before Daddy cut you off."

Jenny stomach twisted.

Leo just shrugged. "And now I'm married."

Julia's lips curled. "We'll see how long that lasts."

She downed her wine, set the glass down with force, and stormed out.

Jenny exhaled sharply, glaring at Leo. "Well, that was fun."

He chuckled. "You handled her better than most."

She rolled her eyes. "That woman hates me."

"She'll get over it."

Jenny narrowed her eyes. "Were you really with her?"

Leo didn't even flinch. "Jealous?"

She snorted. "Not in this lifetime."

He smirked. "Then don't ask questions you don't want the answers to."

Her stomach twisted again.

She didn't want to care. But for some reason, Leo's relationship with Julia made her uneasy.

And that was dangerous.

Leo led Jenny Upstairs, down the hall to a massive bedroom.

"This is yours," he said, pushing the door open.

Jenny gawked.

It was insanely luxurious.. a king-sized bed, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city, and a closet big enough to fit an entire apartment.

She turned to Leo. "You sure this isn't a trick?"

He smirked. "Disappointed I'm not forcing you to share my bed?"

She scoffed. "Not in this lifetime."

Leo leaned in slightly. Too close.

His cologne wrapped around her, making her stomach flip.

"Good," he murmured. "Because I don't do love."

Jenny breath hitched.

She knew that.

She'd always known that.

But somehow, the way he said it-so cold, so final-made her chest ache.

Before she could say anything, he stepped back.

"The wedding's in two weeks. Behave until then."

And with that, he left.

Jenny exhaled, pressing a hand to her racing heart.

What the hell had she gotten herself into?

And more importantly...

Could she really survive this marriage without losing herself?
