Chapter 1 Marco Finn

"Good morning mom" Marco took his seat opposite his mom. He focused his gaze on his phone because he didn't want her engaging him in any discussion before his dad would arrive.

"Good morning son" his father stepped in. He looked up and smiled faintly. He wasn't finding any of their actions or words pleasant and he wondered the reason they had requested to see him that faithful morning.

The room was silent and he slowly raised his head as his hazel eyes went from his mom to his dad, they were discussing in low tones. "you both called for me and now you're discussing without me" he said angrily.

"Marco" his mom called in a soft tone "we need you to get married" she said and Marco looked away. He was hoping this wouldn't be the conversation they wanted to have with him but he was wrong once again. How would he get married to someone he barely knew just to save the company which he started working in, three weeks ago? he wondered.

"Mom! I'll get married but only at my will and I won't get married to the Millers only daughter!" he said firmly

"and why? she's nice and she's...."

"the company depends on our marriage! you don't need to sugarcoat it!" he interrupted his mom with a hinge of anger

"Yes my son. If you don't get married to her, we would loose our company to some board members who want us out of the company" she said bitterly. Their company, Maxs which was in partnership with the Millers and other members, was the largest partnership company in Los Angeles and loosing it to board members would render their years of hard work useless.

"I'm so sorry about your company loss or whatever but I'm not going to get married to her" he stood up to leave. He was done with having the same discussion about marriage over and over again.

"If you don't get married to her, you'd cease to be a member of this family and a heir!" his father's mean voice echoed.

what? he stopped in his tracks. "whoa!" he ran his hands through his black short hair in frustration. Why should that even be an option? he sighed.

"Think about it" his father said going upstairs.

Marco sank on the couch thinking about what his father said, almost all his wealth was gotten through his family. What was he going to do if his father disowned him? he would have nothing.

He looked across the room and his mom was staring at him. A soft stare, she didn't want to be harsh on him but that was the only way to make him agree to their request, she smiled faintly at him before taking her leave.

He took his phone and dialed Taylor's number, Taylor was his personal driver and he needed to leave as soon as possible. He felt suffocated in here

"The Sunset" Marco said when Taylor arrived.

"Okay boss" Taylor said opening the car door for him to go in. The Sunset was a famous club and bar in Los Angeles, he usually went there with Adrian, his closest friend but today, he wanted to be alone.

"we're here boss" Taylor said. They had been there for over five minutes but Marco was lost in thoughts and he didn't like being interrupted by someone.

"for how long?" he asked meanly "about five minutes" Taylor said in fear, awaiting what might happen next.

"And you didn't say a word?" Marco yelled in frustration! He had always been mean to his employees and he didn't mind. "what am I going to do with you?" he stormed out "the keys" he stretched his hands and took the keys from Taylor "you can go home, I won't be needing your company today" he forced a smile and went in.

Looking around the bar, the lights were dim, which made it difficult for him to see through the room, but he could still make out some guys just his age and some sexy ladies which were all over the place waiting for billionaires both young and old to have them in bed.

"my regular" he said to the guy at the counter who smiled at his request. In seconds, the guy dropped a glass of beer before him, "enjoy" he said before going on to attend to other customers.

"Hey handsome" a young sexy lady sat beside him. Moving her body slowly in a flirtatious way, she needed to get his attention. To Marco, she didn't seem unfamiliar as this wasn't the first time she had made advances towards him. All her advances had been plainly declined by him but she wasn't giving up.

"I see you don't plan on giving up anytime soon" he smirked

"I see you came alone today" she said ignoring him and Marco laughed "I like you" he smiled and turned away as he continued to focus on his beer.

"why don't we get a room?" she moved closer to him and placed her hands on his thighs moving it slowly in a circular motion "I want you inside of me" she moved her hands to his shaft and he looked up at her, she was still smiling. Maybe she was right, maybe they should get a room! maybe that was the distraction he needed.

"Let's get a room then" he smirked at her and she was surprised at his reply, she didn't think he'd give in to her today but she counted herself lucky because not everyone got to sleep with Marco who was quite popular for nothing other than being so young, rich and handsome.

She walked behind him as he led them into his VIP room in the bar. "What a nice suite this is" she was marveled at the room. It was huge and well furnished, she didn't think a room like that existed in The Sunset.

"Are you going to keep admiring the room or are you going to give me what I want?" he asked impatiently.

"I'm sorry" she apologized, she didn't want him changing his mind. Marco watched her as she slowly took off her skirt, leaving only her panties. She slowly took off her shirt and moved towards Marco who was fully clothed and sitting on the bed. She reached out for his shirt and took them off revealing his masculine perfection which was one to die for.

She slowly moved her hands round his body, from his chest down to his stomach as she tried so hard to impress him. She brought her lips close to his and kissed him. Marco was confused about himself, why didn't he feel anything? he wondered. He didn't feel the urge to continue or the urge to have her in bed, what he felt was disgust! she reached out for his pants and removed the buttons, she was already enveloped in the heat and wanted to have his shaft right inside of her. She didn't care if he felt the same way or not, she just needed to satisfy her sexual desire.

"Stop!" his mean voice echoed and it made her stop abruptly. She looked at him with confused eyes, she didn't know where she had gone wrong. "Put on your clothes, I'll send you the money" he said taking his phone and he sent her the money.

"but... we didn't get to do anything. Did I do something wrong?" she dared to ask and Marco looked up at her in anger. Looking at her alone made him feel disgusted. "Leave my room" he yelled and she quickly put on her clothes and walked away as fast as she could. Marco just laid in bed, wondering what was wrong, she didn't do any wrong, the problem had to be from him.

Chapter 2 Chloe Millers

"Hello mom" Chloe said over the phone "hello dear" Mrs Millers said "you don't sound too good" her mom noticed.

"yes mom, I don't. I can't believe that you guys aren't over the marriage stuff. Can't I just get married to who ever I want to get married to?" she whined

"No dear, you must obey your dad" it didn't look like her mom was helping matters. "but mom! why the Finn's?" she didn't like the idea but clearly, her opinion didn't matter because, her dad had made it clear to her earlier that she had no say and must go ahead with what he wanted. She decided to call her mom, maybe she'd be of help and talk to her dad but she was wrong. Her mom wasn't really different from her dad, or maybe there was a little difference, her mom pleads while her dad demands.

"you know the company depends on your marriage with him, that's why"

"blah blah blah" she mumbled, she had heard that severally and she didn't want to anymore. "I've got to go" she said hanging up. Chloe Millers was the only daughter and child of the Millers, her childhood was smooth and easy going that she didn't think she'd be forced to marry someone against her wish. She grew up in Chicago with her parents and moved to Los Angeles after her father had told her to manage Maxs, as the vice president.

She looked around her apartment as she arranged the furnitures which had just come in. She had been in Los Angeles for over a week and decided to rest within that week and resume work the following week.

"Chloe" she heard her name over the door followed by continuous knocking. "Willy, I'll be there soon" she said as she walked to the door and opened it

"Hi" she smiled at the good looking young man who was standing before her. His blue eyes smiled at her through his cheeks and she missed that look. "come on! don't give me that weird look" Willy laughed as he pulled her into a hug. She felt so good in his arms as he lifted her up and turned around, he missed her so much and she missed him too.

"Why didn't you visit sooner?" she frowned

"uhm... I've been so busy and you know that, I'm sorry" he apologized.

Willy had been Chloe's best friend since her childhood, they practically grew up together.

"How's the whole stuff with your parents going?" he was concerned "They're still insisting that I get married" she said sadly

"oh my! that would be difficult. You don't even have a boyfriend and I doubt you believe in love, so getting you a husband would be so difficult" he complained and he was right, Chloe wasn't the type that had time for guys, she was only focused on achieving her goals and here she is, faced with the reality of getting married. What was she going to do?

"That's not the problem" she sighed

"then what is?"

"they want me to get married to the famous Marco Finn" she shook her head in frustration

"Marco Finn? the billionaire?" Willy was amazed

"his parents money!" she corrected "whatever! that's the story they want people to believe" Will smiled

"But I don't get, what's so wrong about that? your parents provided a guy for you and you don't want to?" Will asked

"yeah, I don't want to. I barely know him and what's the point"

"come on girl, you have to. You know your dad, he won't rest until you do what he wants, you know that better than I do"

"That's true" Willy was right, her dad wouldn't rest and he wouldn't let her rest either until she agrees to get married to the man of his choice "What would you have done if your parents had demanded you get married to a lady of their choice?" she asked him

"I would agree, as long as she's sexy" he raised a brow

"But you're gay!"

"Bi!" he corrected "oh fuckk!" she yelled in frustration, Willy wasn't the one to have this discussion with.

"Chloe" Willy walked up to her and sat beside her "as your best friend, I'd give you my own advice" he removed strands of his short curly brown which got into his face.

"I think you should get married to him, it doesn't mean you have to stay married to him forever! who knows, you might both grow to love each other and if not, you can divorce him later on" Willy said with all sincerity

Divorce! that was the word she was drawn to, Will gave her an idea. She was going to accept getting married to Marco and divorce him later on, she had finally gotten the solution to her problem.

"I love you so much" she pecked Will on his cheeks severally "easy! you'll turn me on" he smirked

"what?!" she pushed him away "you're crazy" she laughed. She felt so happy and relieved that the solution she had been seeking for over a month was just before her! why didn't she consult Willy earlier?

"so have you met him?"

"Marco?"

"yeah"

"not in person" she wasn't ready to meet him but she had to

"hmm... what have you been waiting for? your parents ought to have set you both up a couple of times" he frowned at her. He was right, their parents had set them up five times, three times, she didn't show up and the remaining two times, Marco didn't show up, it was obvious they both weren't ready to get married to each other.

"I think I'll meet him tomorrow or more often because I'd begin working at Maxs tomorrow" she slapped her forehead with her palm, how much she didn't want to see him.

"that's good news girl" she looked up and Will was smiling at her. At this point, Will looked happy about the whole stuff and it was really pissing her off but she could do nothing, she was already used to him pissing her off.

Chapter 3 Chloe's First day at Maxs Ltd

Marco came out of the bathroom all wet with a towel over his waist. It was a new week and a new day at work. He searched his closet and took out his business suit set comprising of a white shirt, a blue waistcoat, suit jacket and trouser with a matching necktie.

He didn't seem happy putting them on because he rarely wore a suit let alone a complete set of suit but his dad insisted that he should put it on today to impress his so called wife to be, a wife he knew nothing about, a lady he had never seen, a lady who stood him up three good times but who cared about that, no one! his parents wouldn't give a damn so there was no point complaining.

He neatly styled his hair as he looked at his almost perfect figure in the mirror, there was no how Chloe Millers would turn him down considering his looks.

When he stepped into the sitting room, his dad was watching a show and his mom was preparing breakfast.

"You look handsome" his mom said walking out of the kitchen as she reached out to his collar bit he stopped her and pulled away "I'm fine, thanks" he didn't need his mom's flattering, at least not today.

"I'm off" he reached out for the door "won't you have breakfast?" his mom asked "I'll do that at work"

"Don't forget what you're meant to do at work" Mr Finn said without moving his face away from the TV. His dad had earlier said that he must do everything to get Chloe to accept his marriage proposal, he thought so hard about what he was going to do as he approached his car, Taylor was by his car waiting for him.

"The company" he said entering into the car and in no time, he was at the company.

"Good morning boss" Allyssa his secretary greeted him as he walked into his office and as usual, he didn't look in her direction or stop to acknowledge her greeting.

"I need you to come to my office immediately" he said after the intercom beep and in no time, Allyssa was in his office.

"Has the new vice president stepped in? Chloe Millers?" he asked her.

"Your fiancée?" she said and he forced a smile "yeah". At the company, although Chloe Millers hasn't started working there, those who knew her, the board members referred to her as Marco's fiancée, their parents made it clear to the board members that their children were getting married to each other.

"she hasn't come in yet" she replied "when she does, tell her to come see me" she nodded before taking her leave.

****

"I can't find anything to put on" Chloe complained bitterly as she went through her closet over and over again. She had been up for more than an hour but she didn't know what to put on. She looked at the clock on the wall and she knew she was running out of time, she shouldn't be extremely late on her first day of work! she thought to herself as she picked a black knee-length gown from her closet.

"this would do" she said putting it on. She sat down before the mirror and packed her long straight brunette hair neatly. She bent down to buckle her shoes when her ringtone went off, it was her mom!

"what does she want this time!" she sighed suspecting it would be her usual talk about her marriage with Marco.

"Hey mom" she tried to sound as nice as possible, she didn't want to act all rude and later on discover that her mom called her for something else.

"Are you at work already?" her mom asked "not yet"

"don't tell me you plan on skipping work today?"

"come on mom! did you call me to remind me to go to work? or you called to know how I'm doing?"

"both... you know I care about you. I just want to make sure you do what your father tells you to do. Have a nice day at work" mrs Millers said

"Thanks mom! I'll remember to do that" she angrily hung up. The sooner she agreed to it, the better for her. She was tired of their continuous nagging and reminder of what she already knew. She took a last glance at the mirror before walking out after she was satisfied with her looks. She hopped into her red Chevrolet Cruze car, a car which her dad had gifted her on her 26th birthday. She had been to Maxs just once but she didn't need directions because she was a fast learner, it had never been difficult for her to locate places. In few minutes, she was at the company. The company building was a large one with 10 floors, the structure of the company was well designed as the outside walls were made of thick glass.

Chloe pulled up at the entrance of the building and came down for a security guy to take her car to the parking lot, that was how the company worked especially for executives. She worked into the building with her head high, she didn't miss a step even when she noticed all eyes were on her, but why?

oh! posters of her were all over the place and it was tagged "the new vice president" she smiled when she saw the posters.

"Good morning Miss" Allyssa walked up to her

"Good morning" she smiled "I'm the secretary of the president and I'll show you to your office" she said leading the way into the elevator, she tapped the eighth floor button "is my office on the eighth floor?"

"yes miss. Your fiancè... I mean the President's office is there too" she chuckled

"My fiancè! tch... what a joke" she mumbled and sighed

"did you say something miss?"

"no" she forced a smile and just then, they got to the eight floor and the elevator door opened.

"This way please" Allyssa said leading her into her office. The office was large but she wasn't moved, it was a bit smaller than her office back in Chicago. She worked in one of her dad's company as the assistant manager. She found the office conducive and it was well furnished to her taste, she loved it.

"I'll proceed to settle in" she smiled at Allyssa "okay, my desk is right outside" she pointed at her desk which was just adjacent to her office through the glass wall. "call me if you need anything" she added turning away

"thanks" Chloe said and Allyssa turned around like she just remembered something "Mr Marco said you should see him" she said "that's his office" she pointed out before leaving.

Was he out of his mind? why would he request to see her before she even settled down? she wasn't going to see him until she had fully settled down, she made up her mind.
