Author: : Yi Shi
Genre: Romance
Emily, being the designated successor of her multi-million family business, was used to having all eyes on her. However, it all changed in one night when she had caught her fiance cheating on her with her sister. Not only did he left her, but he even laughed at the thought of ever loving someone like her. Everyone had betrayed her that night, and as her sister smashed her skull, Emily found herself dying and moving back to ten years ago. With another chance at life, she would make them all pay. She would stop at nothing to make all their lives a living hell.

Chapter 1 The Acts of Betrayal

The skies had gradually dimmed around them. The waves splashed across the shorelines, reflecting the bright moon glimmering above them.

However, a ship offered a sharp contrast to the violent seas. In there, the spotlights waved at the shadows as loud music echoed through the night.

Today was Emily Feng's engagement party. Being the designated successor of the Feng Group, she was used to having all eyes on her. But tonight, it felt even more special. This time, she could also feel everyone watching with bated breath, as if trying to suck in her every move.

She wore a sky-blue strapless dressed that contrasted her smooth snow-white skin perfectly. The fabric wrapped around her figure so exquisitely that it could make anyone lust after her.

"Miss Emily, congratulations!"

Emily Feng squinted her eyes as a graceful smile slid into her ruby red lips. "Uncles, you're all extremely experienced shareholders of the Feng Group." She bowed her head respectfully. "I hope that I'll be able to seek your advice in the future."

"All you need to do is ask!" One of the old men chortled, patting his chest proudly.

Her crystal heels tapped against the glass flooring. She was about to walk up to her fiance, Ron Qin, who was too busy socializing and admiring the view from the other side of the yacht. When most of the guests were enjoying the lights and music, the other side was more silent peaceful. However, just as she was about to walk over to him, she caught sight of her sister Sofia Feng shoving her room card into his palm.

Sofia Feng shot him a flirty smile. The two of them held each other's hands and turned around as if nothing had happened. 'Maybe I just drank too much,' Emily Feng thought to herself, but when she peered over at them one again, the two left one after another.

"I miss you so much," Ron Qin gasped out.

The originally quiet room was thickened with sexual tension as they leaned in closer, inhaling each other's scents.

Suddenly, Sofia Feng pulled his hand down and glared at him. "Today's your engagement party with that bitch," she sneered. "You've already courted her for ten years. Now that you have her, you'd better not make any mistake. Otherwise, my Mom's going to be the death of me."

"Baby, relax. I already got this in the bag." He reassured her as he pulled her closer to his chest. "Besides, the stupid girl's still caught up in her own social engagement, and we haven't seen each other for so long. I miss you."

Ron Qin's thin lips went for her neck as his arms cascaded down her waist, gripping her hips and forcing her against his. His breathy voice fanned against her skin, and she groaned. "Hmph," Sofia Feng gasped out, as she tried her best to pry him out. "No, stop playing. Stop..."

"Playing?" He withdrew his hands and rolled his eyes. "I'm serious. Do you know how much that girl exhausted me? I mean, compared to you, she's nothing but plain old sticks."

Emily Fang's legs had grown so weak that she couldn't help but tremble. 'Am I drunk?' It seemed that no matter how much she shook her head, their voice could still come into her ears–as if the faiths were mocking her for trusting that man.

"Well? When will you actually marry her? As long as you get all her property, we don't have to sneak around anymore."

Sofia Feng sighed, rubbing her forehead in frustration.

"She's the only successor of the Feng Group, baby," he said. "It would take some time to get all her property. But don't worry. When I become the biggest shareholder of the company, I'll kick her to the curve. Then, you'll be the wife of esteemed Chairman of the Feng Group."

Sofia Feng giggled, slapping him on his chest playfully. She huddled closer to his side. "You're so bad," she teased. "But I've always liked this bad side of you."

Emily Feng could feel her heart breaking into two as she continued to hear the couple make out in the room. Her hands trembled. She leaned against the wall beside her, since her legs couldn't hold herself up anymore. How could this be? Her sister and her fiance, the two she could ever trust with her life. However, they were sleeping behind her back!

Just then, one of the waiters approached her. "Miss Emily, what are you doing here?" he asked. "Do you need any help?"

Emily stood there in a daze, not bothering to notice him. However, the couple inside had already straightened their backs from the sound.

"Shit! Did you hear that?" Sofia Feng said in hushed whispers.

"What do you think?" Ron Qin backed away from the woman as if he were a deer caught in headlights. "What am I going do? She must've heard everything!"

Before they could think of a better excuse, Emily Feng had already pushed the door open. The woman observed their flushed cheeks and disheveled clothing. It didn't take a genius to know what they had done.

Chapter 2 Betrayal, Cruel Fact!

"Emily, you're here." Sofia clasped her hands together as a smile wove into her lips. It was as if nothing had happened, as if she wasn't caught in the act. "Did you just arrive?"

Emily choked at the sound of her voice. Hot tears continuously streamed down her cheeks as she tried to process their words. "Did I just arrive?" She laughed bitterly.

"What do you think? I've heard everything! How dare you lie to me all these years? All I've done is treat you like my own sister, and you repay me by this? By stabbing me in the back?"

Hatred filled Emily's heart as she stomped up to the woman. Her hand trembled in rage as she raised it up, ready to slap her on the face. However, before she could, Ron held her back.

Tears sprouted from the corners of Emily's eyes as she gazed up at him bitterly. "You're stopping me?" she spat. "Do you remember what you've promised me when you proposed to me? You said that you'll love me, that you'll care for me the rest of your life! Is this how you care for me? Well?"

Ron snorted in disgust. His eyes danced with unspeakable emotions as he held her close to him. "Well, now that you've heard everything, then there's no reason for me to act anymore!" he snarled. "Listen to me very closely–I don't like you. I never did. If not because you are the designated successor of the Feng Group, do you think I'll give two shits? The only reason I'm with you now is because of your money. Otherwise, do you think I'm that stupid to get engaged to you? Of all people?"

"Money?" Emily laughed and clapped her hands as if she had just heard a good joke. She had been ecstatic a few minutes ago, and now it was like she had watched her entire world fall apart in one snap. "So you're saying after all these years, you've only ever been with me for money? You never loved me?"

Emily tried her best to blink the tears away as she got a hold of herself. Her heart raced in her chest as all those emotions knocked her over like a tidal wave. How could they do this to her? How dare they?

He removed his grip from her wrist as a smug smile slipped into his lips. His eyes glinted with mockery, and she could feel her heart being quenched at the sight. "Yes! You're right. I don't love you at all. In fact, you even sicken me. For the last ten years, nothing I've said was true! Do you understand now?"

"Yes, I– Ah!"

All of a sudden, Emily collapsed onto the deck as she felt a sharp pain coursing through her skull. Her hand ran through her hair, feeling the slimy red substance beading down her fingertips. Her vision blurred around her as she struggled to help herself up. "Sofia!

You..." Everything stopped before her.

The vase in Sofia's hand was broken, and blood stained the shards poking out. However, even at the ominous sight, there was no trace of fear in her eyes. Sofia placed her lips together firmly.

"I have no other choice," she protested. "This is the only way we could hide this without her threatening to expose us! We've already endured this for ten years! I'm not going to give up that easily."

Emily's body dropped a few temperatures as she shivered from the impact. The bloody substance dribbled down her chin, painting the deck dark red. In the darkness, she could feel someone's breath fanning against her earlobe.

"Emily, please don't blame me," a familiar voice whispered. "I've worked hard in the Feng Group for so many years. I can't just let that go to you."

"Jonson, it's not your fault." A haughty voice sounded from not that far away. It was her stepmother. "After all, she's not even your biological daughter. Now that she's dead, you'll have full hold of the Feng Group. Isn't that better?"

Sofia snorted obnoxiously. "That's right. Now, I'll be the only daughter in the family."

"Sofia!" Ron held her hands, shooting the woman on the ground a disgusted look. "We don't have to keep our relationship a secret anymore! Now that the bitch is dead, we can be together."

That was the last thing Emily had heard as she slipped into the darkness. Her father, her stepmother, her sister, her fiance. They were the ones she had loved the most her entire life. And now, all of them had betrayed her for their own selfish gains.

'I can't die! I can't die!'

Her spirit struggled inside of her, desperately trying to keep herself from floating into the abyss. There was no way in hell she was going to die like this! Not when they were the ones who held the upper hand. 'I can't die!' If there was a way for her to go back in time, she was going to make sure to make their lives a living hell.

Chapter 3 Rebirth

Pain coursed through her entire system as darkness had overwhelmed her. Emily squeezed her eyes shut as she tried her best to suspend the sharp throbbing at the back of her skull.

Suddenly, the darkness soon retreated. Instead of the cold hard pavement that met her back, she was greeted with something warm and soft. When Emily opened her eyes once again, the warmness of sunshine cascaded down her arms.

"Is this my room?"

The familiar duvet covers wrapped around her little body like a cocoon as she twisted and turned on her bed. Her eyebrows furrowed over as she took in her surroundings. It really was her room. Yet, it wasn't. Didn't she change her room? Her wallpapers were filled with cartoon stickers that she had watched as a kid. She remembered thinking how childish she had been to be so obsessed with them.

Confused, Emily stretched out her arms only to see that her palms were much smaller and less defined.

"Ah! Miss Emily finally woke up! Go, and inform Mr. Jonson."

The servant was supposed to come in and change Emily's clothes, but when she saw that she had woken up, she quickly sprinted out of the door to inform everyone. At the sight of the familiar young maid, Emily's eyebrows knitted together even more.

"Isn't that Alice?" she murmured to herself. "Didn't she leave the house five years ago? Why does she look so young? Why the hell am I here? Ow! My head hurts."

Before she could process what was happening, a man rushed into her room. Although his hair and clothes were disheveled from running, he didn't look a day over his forties. "You're awake!" He gripped her shoulders tightly before pulling her into a hug. "That's great. I'm so relieved!"

"Dad?" she sputtered out. "Is that you?"

He furrowed his eyebrows, drawing her away from his grip. He tilted his head. "Is something wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"

She tried to scour through her thoughts as to what had happened before this, but all she was met with was an endless blur. Why couldn't she think clearly? Her hands trembled slightly as she pulled up her arms.

"Dad, you–" she sputtered out, struggling to find the words to describe her predicament.

"Do you know how worried I was, Emily? You scared me to death!"

Suddenly, all the memories rushed back to her. She remembered this scene exactly as it had been ten years ago. Emily had been hit by a vase from the stairs while she was shopping with her friends. This was just the start of summer vacation after taking her college entrance examinations. This was also the reason why she had taken a year off school to recuperate. In fact, she even hired a tutor to help her catch up for the following months.

"Dad," she said. Her voice was hoarse. "I–I'm fine."

"Are you sure you're all right? Maybe we should go to the hospital to get a check-up. The doctor said that you should once you wake up," he insisted, leaving no room for any complaints.

Emily was still in a state of shock that she didn't even bother to argue with him. It took her a few days later to accept the fact.

'Now that God has given me the chance to be reborn, I won't take this opportunity for granted, ' she thought. 'I'll let them all pay for what they've done!'

After getting checked in the hospital, the doctor didn't find anything wrong, so he just advised that she get some more rest and take some time off from any stressful activities. Emily was supposed to stay at home for the next year and rest, but she was already in perfect shape. At this point, she'd die if she didn't do anything. Plus, it was also best that she didn't expose them for their lies as well. She would handle them all slowly but surely.

"Sofia, it's your sister's first day at school today," her stepmother warned. "You should take good care of her, okay?"

"Mom, don't worry. I'll handle it."

She gazed at Sofia's friendly smile and bright eyes. Back then, she had thought that everything about them was genuine. Now, she could see through her webs of lies.

"Let me show you around school," Sofia suggested. Emily could feel disgust pooling in her chest at the sight.

A forced smile pushed its way into her lips.

"Thank you... Sofia!" she managed.

"There's no need to thank me, you know. Besides, we're sisters. We're supposed to help each other out! Let's go. I'll take you to class."

Sofia grabbed her hand naturally. She flipped her hair and strolled down the school gates. She was known to be the most popular girl in HRJR University. Everyone knew that she was the daughter of the Feng Family.

"Isn't that Sofia?" one of the students whispered excitedly. "She's so beautiful!"

"Yes! Wait, who's the girl beside her?" Another one huddled in as they crowded over each other to peer at the two women. "Look at her! She's cute. Is she new? I've never seen her before."

One of them shrugged. "Maybe she just came to visit our school. She seems to be friends with Sofia."

As she walked down the corridor, Emily could see the way they gazed at them intriguingly. Upon hearing their bright words for her stepsister, her nails dug into her palms. Her eyes flashed.

"Emily, when you walk straight to that corridor, you'll see a library." Sofia pointed at the front, not noticing the darkness in her sister's gaze. "Plus, our school has an indoor playground. When you turn right, you'll head over to the teacher's building. In my opinion, you should've gotten some more rest at home, but seeing as you're doing fine, that's also great. Look, if you have any problem at school, feel free to come to me. Okay?"

"Got it." Emily nodded obediently.

Just as Sofia was about to say something else, scantily dressed women walked up to her. One of them waved her luxurious handbag in front of her as if it was some sort of exquisite gem.

"We still have to practice dancing today, Sofia," one of them whined. "It's for our school's anniversary."

"Oh shit! I almost forgot." She glanced at Emily guiltily. "I still need to do something, Emily. You–"

"It's fine. Go ahead with your work. Besides, I know where the administration building is. You can go finish your practice."

Emily smiled calmly as she waved her hand around.

"Well, you can call me if you have any problems, okay?" Sofia grinned thankfully. "I'll be at the third floor of the teacher's building over there. I'll be heading to class soon, all right? Take good care of yourself!"

"Okay!"

Staring at their retreating figures, Emily loosened her fists. The corners of her lips twitched mockingly. If she had known their true intentions earlier then, maybe she wouldn't have ended up like this.

Tired and exhausted, Emily headed over to sit on the bench, rubbing her forehead. Now that God had sent her through time, it was as if she had woken out of her stupor. How could she not have seen through their betrayal? Well, now that she was here, she was going to do something about it. Emily would not let them get away with this, not over her dead body!
