The view outside the window was horrifying. The sky seemed enraged right now. The rain was pouring violently. A brilliant flash of lightning lit the sky, followed by a thunder explosion. The shrill sound of branches broken by the lightning resounded through the darkness.
The two wall lamps were on. The window was swaying violently with the wind, giving the room an eerie ambiance.
"Why are you doing this to me? I don't even know you." Kathryn An's back was against the cold wall. Tears were streaming down her face, and her voice was trembling with fear. She was on her way to the shopping mall when she was kidnapped. She was knocked unconscious, and when she opened her eyes, she was already in this strange room.
Patrick Ye stared at her. With a faint smile, he asked in a low voice, "Why don't you take a guess?"
She was bewildered. She didn't understand what he meant. The complicated emotions in his eyes were also difficult to read. Was this a kind of a joke? But there seemed to be a trace of pain and hatred in his voice.
Her heart was overwhelmed by misgivings. The gloomy atmosphere outside added up to her grief. She felt like she was trapped in an ice cave.
All of a sudden, Patrick Ye tore her dress violently, exposing her skin to the cold air.
"No!" Kathryn An pleaded. She stretched out her hands to stop him, but he held her hands and pressed them against the wall above her head. When the wind blew hard, the window opened wide, and the rain splashed onto her body. It was freezing cold. She wanted to hide, but she couldn't escape from his grip.
He took out a piece of paper from his pocket and unfolded it in front of her. He then said, "If you don't want to play with me, I don't mind venting my anger on David An. What do you think?"
She stared at the piece of paper in front of her with her big eyes. The handwriting and the signature were very familiar to her. She was sure that it was written by her brother, David An. Shocked, she stammered, "He owes you ten million?" Her face turned pale in an instant, and beads of sweat formed on her forehead. "Are you taking me as his payment?"
His eyes narrowed when he saw the fear and panic on Kathryn An's face. "You think too highly of yourself. You're not that valuable. David owes me a huge amount of gambling debts and hurts one of my men. If I go through the legal process, I'm sure he will have prison meals for a couple of years."
David An, her half-brother, was the son of her father and his ex-wife. He had always been rebellious since he was a child. His bad character had always caused trouble for their family.
Seeing that she was still struggling to escape, Patrick Ye kissed her trembling lips overbearingly. She felt she couldn't breathe.
With his ruthless kiss, he never intended to give her a chance to make a choice. He used this method to tear up her dignity and let pain crush her soul.
When she was already gradually losing her strength, he threw her away to the floor. Another flash of lightning lit the sky, followed by thunder. The white light shone on her pale face.
He looked at her with his bloodthirsty and gloomy eyes. Complex emotions were written all over his face. Only he who knew that real reason why he was treating her like this. The truth was, it had nothing to do with the gambling debts.
After staring at her for quite a while, he turned around and left her alone, half-conscious. Left alone, she felt more anxious. She prayed that he would not involve her parents in this mess or let them know about it.
Since D City was a coastal city, the summer weather was changeable. The changes were even faster than tearing a book.
As the night deepened, the rainstorm attacked the city again.
Since Patrick Ye left, Kathryn An stayed in the room alone. Two servants came in to clean the room, but they just ignored her as if she wasn't there.
But while the servants were cleaning, she overheard their conversation. She found out that he was the CEO of Ye Group. Although she didn't know much about him, he was nothing to her but a devil.
Flashes of lightning and thunder explosions shook the room like hell. She threw away the quilt in her hand and rolled down from the bed. She curled up in the corner of the room and trembled.
As soon as the lightning and thunder stopped, the room became dark again. Since it was so quiet, the raindrops on the window could be heard clearly. It was still raining heavily outside. Once again, the inexplicable fear overwhelmed her.
At this time, the door was pushed open from the outside. She stared at the door with her fearful eyes. She held her breath as she waited for Patrick Ye to appear at the door.
But with the light coming from the corridor, she saw a middle-aged woman standing at the door. She heaved a sigh of relief.
"Miss An." The woman called her name while turning on the lights. Kathryn An had a clear view of the woman. She was wearing decent clothes and had a stern expression on her face. There were also two maids standing behind her.
"Who are you?" Kathryn An asked as she looked up at the woman.
"I'm Mr. Ye's butler. Everyone calls me Lily." Lily wore an expressionless face just like Patrick Ye's. After introducing herself, she waved her hand slightly, and the maids behind her walked towards Kathryn An.
"What are you doing?" Kathryn An felt scared at once. She tried to move back, but her back was already against the cold wall.
"Mr. Ye wants to see you," Lily replied.
When she heard that she was going to see Patrick Ye again, Kathryn An felt like she was running out of breath. Facing a beast like him was indeed terrifying.
However, she had no other choice but to follow Lily to the dining room. While walking, she got a chance to look around. The house was huge. The corridor was like a maze, but the panoramic glass provided a good visual effect.
"Mr. Ye, Miss An is here." Lily moved slightly to give way for Kathryn An to walk in.
Patrick Ye sat at the table, reading a document in his hand. Without raising his head, he said to Lily, "Okay. You can go now."
"Yes, Mr. Ye." Lily then turned around and left.
Kathryn An stood still and stared at him blankly. She couldn't help but notice the gloom and sadness on his handsome face. He didn't want to be disturbed when he was eating, so he was always alone in the dining room.
She noticed that the decorations inside the house were simple and modern. The dining room was on the first floor, facing the swimming pool in the courtyard. Since the walls were glasses, the view outside was clear. The lights were dim, giving the house a harmonious atmosphere.
Only then did she realize that the room she was in just now was right above the dining room. Anyway, she was not in the mood to memorize the rooms in her enemy's house.
"Sit down." He raised his head and look at her, locking all her embarrassment in his eyes.
Without any hesitation, she walked to a seat a little far away from him and sat down.
"Why are you sitting so far away from me? Are you afraid that I will eat you?" he commented. He then put the document aside and wiped his hands with a wet tissue. Without saying anything, he picked up the knife and the fork and began to eat.
She swallowed hard. Her stomach was grumbling, but she didn't move until she saw that he had already started eating.
The sumptuous dinner prepared on the table could feed even a dozen of people. If it was an ordinary day in her life, she would definitely enjoy the meal. But with her situation right now, she didn't have any appetite. Although the food was delicious, she felt like she couldn't swallow it.
"Block 12, Manning Lane. Can you still remember? We've met there before," he said after a moment of silence between them.
"Block 12, Manning Lane? We've met there before?" Obviously, she was stunned. They had met before? She was lost in thought, trying to remember when and how it happened.
He put down his knife and fork, picked up the napkin, and wiped the corners of his mouth. He stared at her coldly and said, "Don't you want to know why I treated you like that a while ago? Don't you want to know the real reason?"
"The real reason?" Kathryn kept on repeating his words. She was totally confused. "Is it not because of David's gambling debts?"
"Stupid." He didn't hide his contempt for her at all.
"What do you mean?" All of a sudden, her expression froze, and the fork in her hand fell on the plate. She remembered it now.
Seeing that the expression on her face changed, his eyes darkened.
That was three months ago.
The winter vacation was over, and it was the first week of the new semester. Kathryn An went shopping with her friend.
The snow had melted, so the road went back to its original appearance.
With her bag in her hand, Kathryn An ran after her friend. Her cheeks flushed as she yelled with a smile, "Lucy, stop running. I will definitely punish you once I catch you."
"Come and chase me. I'm sure you can't catch me with my speed. I'll tell everyone in the class that you have a crush on the school hunk. I know that they will all believe in me," Lucy Xu teased. Lucy Xu was Kathryn An's roommate and best friend.
Kathryn An's face turned even redder upon hearing what Lucy Xu said. "You asked me to write that love letter for you. How could you use it against me?"
"Well, I haven't signed it yet. So if I put your name on it, I'm sure they will believe it's really yours." Lucy laughed happily. She was used to teasing Kathryn An like this.
"Lucy! Just wait until I catch you!" Kathryn An made a detour to attack Lucy Xu from the other side. But she didn't expect that she would suddenly bump into a man.
She staggered two steps back and almost fell down. Luckily, Lucy Xu was quick enough to hold her. "Are you okay?" Lucy Xu then turned to the man and yelled, "Hey! What's wrong with you? Are you blind?"
Kathryn An held her hand and said, "Lucy, that's enough. It was me who hit him." She then looked at the man apologetically. But to her surprise, the man just straightened up his shirt and walked forward with a deadpan expression.
"What? Hey, what's wrong with you?" Lucy Xu got angrier with the man's reaction. She caught up with him. "Excuse me. Even if it was my friend's fault, do you really have to be that rude? She already admitted that she was the one who bumped into you. Why do you have such a long face?"
Kathryn An pulled Lucy Xu quickly to stop her. "Lucy, stop it. Let's go." If she didn't stop Lucy Xu, the latter would probably fight with the man.
Actually, she was not happy with the man's reaction either. But she didn't want to make a fuss over it anymore.
All of a sudden, they heard a harsh sound not too far away behind them.
"Someone was hit by a car!" Kathryn An exclaimed. She turned around and was about to have a look.
However, Lucy Xu stopped her. "Don't go there. You don't want to have a nightmare later, do you?"
Kathryn An suddenly felt scared. "You're right. Let's go."
Kathryn and Lucy left in a hurry and went back to their dormitory. Later that day, it was reported on the news that there was indeed a tragic traffic accident in Block 12, Manning Lane that afternoon.
Three months had quickly passed.
Kathryn had already forgotten that incident. She wouldn't even remember it if Patrick didn't remind her right now.
"Are you the man I bumped into that day?" As she stared at him, the face of that man flashed in her mind. She was sure now that it was really him.
"Well, you remember now. I guess you have a good memory." With a cold smile, he gave her a sharp glare. "My girlfriend, Molly Li, died on that day.
She broke out into a cold sweat. "If you were not delayed by me, you could have..."
"Yes. It wouldn't have happened if I was able to catch up with her." The bitter smile on his face and the tone of his voice were clear indicators that he was blaming Molly Li's death on Kathryn.
Kathryn suddenly stood up and pushed the chair away. "If you're blaming me for her death, why don't you take revenge on me? Why do you have to use my brother?"
Patrick took a sip of his wine, looked at her, and said calmly, "Your brother deserves it. But actually, I don't really care about the ten million. I just want you to know the real reason why you are here."
She suddenly felt distressed. "If you really want to avenge your girlfriend's death, do it on me. Don't implicate my family, especially my parents!"
"I didn't know that you like taking responsibility for others. In that case, you might also want to pay for what your brother owes me." Patrick picked up the goblet on the table and took another sip of wine.
"What? I thought I already paid with my body." This time, she was already choking with sobs.
A scornful smile appeared on his face. "Do you really think that your virginity is worth ten million?"
"But I..." She was at a loss for words. He was right. She wasn't that precious. But virginity was the most precious thing for a woman. She felt so dejected being trampled by him like this.
"So, would you like to stay here or work in a nightclub? I'm sure that you can make more money there." Patrick smiled evilly.
"No way!" Kathryn thumped the table and stared at him. "If you send me to that kind of place, I will kill myself. I'm sure you will be in big trouble if you get involved."
"I didn't know that you are also stubborn." Patrick smiled playfully. "So, does that mean you are going to stay here with me?"
"Yes," Kathryn affirmed.
"I'm not a good companion," Patrick said sarcastically as he shook the goblet in his hand slightly.
"It doesn't matter. Just let me stay here." She was left with no choice. Staying in his house was way much better than being thrown into a nightclub.
"Well, let's see." Patrick smiled and drank up the wine in his glass.
After dinner, Lily came back and took Kathryn back to her room.
Kathryn must still be in shock as she seemed not to mind the lightning and thunder outside anymore. She curled up in bed with a twisted face. Since she didn't feel comfortable eating just now, she felt a spasm in her stomach.
Although Patrick didn't hurt her again, she didn't feel better at all. The mental torture was worse than physical pain.
It never occurred to her that the person who died that day was Patrick's girlfriend. When she remembered that incident again, she couldn't help but shed tears silently.
Kathryn and Lucy had watched the news report together in their dormitory at that time, and they also felt emotional. The woman was young and beautiful. She also came from a well-off family. They couldn't help feeling sorry for the loss of her family.
Thinking that Molly Li died because of her, Kathryn felt so guilty. She and Lucy were only having fun. She didn't expect that it would indirectly lead to someone's death.
"Molly, I'm sorry," Kathryn apologized while weeping. Although she didn't personally know the woman, she couldn't help blaming herself. She buried her face in the pillow and cried as hard as she could, her shoulders trembled.
Although Patrick kept Kathryn in his house, he didn't stop her from going back to school.
As a matter of fact, she had never seen him again after that dinner. She heard from the servants that he had not been in the city these days.
Since she didn't have to face him, Kathryn somehow felt relaxed. But she knew that it was only temporary. Sooner or later, he would show up in front of her again.
After school, the students walked out with the tune of the happy music. But for Kathryn, time after school was like a heavy stone that pressed her heart. If only she could have a twenty-four-hour class a day. That way, she had an excuse not to go back to Patrick's house.
"Kathryn!"
Kathryn was stunned when she heard a pleasant voice of a man calling her name. She stopped and turned around. "Walter?"
Walter Si was a senior student in their school that Lucy had a crush on. She even wrote a love letter for Lucy and handed it to him.
He was a gentle, nice, handsome, and well-groomed man from the art college, majoring in sculpture. He was in his fourth year now, but the sculpture major required five years of study. This department was only limited to twenty students, so everyone was elite.
Walter Si was a public figure in their school. He was the prince charming in the eyes of almost every female student.
Since Kathryn was majoring in music, they had classes in the same building. And as a member of the student union, she had a lot of opportunities to meet him.
"What's up?" She felt a little uneasy, knowing that the school hunk was staring at her.
"Kathryn, I..." Walter Si smiled awkwardly. He seemed to feel more uncomfortable than her. "Well... I want to tell you something. Actually, I have been wanting to tell you this for a long time, but I'm just a little worried that you will feel embarrassed."
"What is it?" Kathryn looked at him in confusion.
Walter Si took a deep breath first before he spoke. "It has been three months since I received your letter, but I haven't given you any response yet. This semester will be over soon, and I will be graduating next year. I think it's time to confess my feelings for you."
Hearing his words, she suddenly realized that there was a misunderstanding.
But before she could say anything, he added, "Kathryn, this love letter..." He handed the piece of paper to her.
"No. Walter, you misunderstood." Kathryn was so shocked. She didn't expect that he would misunderstand everything. "Yes, I gave you this love letter. But I did it for someone else. It didn't personally come from me." Unfortunately, she couldn't mention Lucy's name in front of him. No one else in their school knew that Lucy had a crush on him.
Looking at the heart-shaped love letter, he frowned and said, "I saw this love letter in my drawer. I know your handwriting. It's difficult for others to imitate it."
Kathryn restrained herself from rolling her eyes. She admitted that her penmanship was not beautiful. But did he really need to be too direct?
"Walter, I wrote this love letter because someone asked me a favor to do so. Everything written here didn't come directly from me. I'm so sorry. You'd better forget about this letter. I have to go now. Bye." Kathryn turned around and ran away.
"Kathryn!" He tried to stop her, but it was too late.
He stood there in a daze. Although she was already out of his sight, his hand still froze in midair. When Kathryn turned around, his fingers had actually touched her long hair slightly. He felt like the fragrance of her hair lingered in his hand.
On the other side of the road, a luxury black car was parked there.
"Mr. Ye?" The driver looked at Patrick through the rearview mirror.
"Go now." Patrick had just come back from a business trip. But instead of going home, he went to Kathryn's university first. He didn't expect to see what happened just now.
Patrick's car passed by Kathryn. However, she was walking with her head down and not paying attention to the vehicles passing by. As her figure slowly disappeared from the rearview mirror, Patrick looked at the other side of the window with his cold eyes.
When Kathryn arrived at Patrick's house, she saw Lily walking towards her.
"Mr. Ye is back. He wants to see you in the living room."
Kathryn's heartbeat went abnormally fast upon hearing Patrick's name. She cursed him in her mind. But of course, she still went to the living room to see him.
Looking at the European style retro carved door of the living room, Kathryn thought of Auguste Rodin's "The Gates of Hell" and couldn't help but shiver.
She gently knocked on the door and heard Patrick's cold response. "Come in."
Kathryn took a deep breath, pushed the heavy door slowly, and walked in. She then closed the door behind her and stood there uneasily.
Patrick was sitting on the sofa, his back to the window. Although Kathryn couldn't see the expression on his face, she could feel a strong sense of depression from him.
"Take out everything from your bag and your pocket," he ordered. Kathryn jerked. "What do you mean?"
"Just do what I say."
His calm voice made her conform. She took out everything from her bag, including the heart-shaped love letter.
That was what Patrick exactly wanted to see. He stood and walked towards her.
Looking at Patrick walking up to her slowly, Kathryn's heart was in her throat. The gloomy atmosphere that surrounded him gave her an eerie feeling.
Patrick picked up the love letter on the floor and looked through it. He then smiled and commented, "It's quite unique. You really put your heart into it."
Kathryn stared at Patrick's hand nervously. She felt like some mice were racing around her heart.
He opened the love letter and read its content. A trace of darkness flashed across his face as he crumpled the love letter into a ball and threw it on her. "Who is that man?"
"Why? Does he have something to do with you?" Kathryn looked at Patrick warily.
"Just tell me who he is. My patience is short. You'd better make it quick."
She broke out into a cold sweat upon hearing his threatening voice. She had no choice but to give him the details. "His name is Walter Si. He is a fourth-year student majoring in sculpture in the art college."
"Do you like him?" he asked as he walked closer to her.
She stepped back subconsciously, only to find out that her back was already against the cold door. "No. A friend of mine asked me to write that letter for her."
He sneered and held her chin. "A love letter written for someone else? Do you really expect me to believe you?"
She looked at him in panic. "It's up to you to believe me or not. But I'm telling the truth."
Patrick suddenly frowned. "If my memory serves me right, he was the guy that you and your friend were talking about that day, right?"
Her eyes widened in disbelief. Everything happened so quickly that day. How could he remember the details so clearly?
"Since you are saying that this love letter has nothing to do with you, what happened outside the school earlier? Don't tell me that this Walter has fallen in love with you because of this love letter."
She was speechless for a while. She looked at his eyes, but she couldn't read the expression in there. He said again, "I am right, aren't I? You can't even deny it."
"No. It was just a misunderstanding." She shook her head in denial.
His fingers slid across her face and grabbed her neck. He moved his face closer to hers and said, "Don't forget who you are now. Otherwise, don't blame me for what I can do."
He then pushed her away, causing her body to hit the table at the corner. She felt a sharp pain in her hip. Kathryn endured the pain and just lowered her head. After all, she was to be blamed for Molly's death. It was only right to make her suffer. She deserved to be punished.
He lowered his head and looked at her. As her long hair hung on her shoulders and covered her face, she looked weak and pitiful. Despite that, he didn't fail to notice that her silky long black hair added to her charm.
He grabbed her collar and lifted her up. Although he was not that close to her, he still heard her rapid heartbeat. Looking at the wisps of black hair that slowly slid down from his fingertips, he said, "If it weren't for this silky long black hair of yours, would you still look attractive?"
His words sent a chill down her spine. She had a hunch that he was planning something wicked. Kathryn had been taking care of her long hair since she was a child. She never had it dyed or treated with chemicals. Her hair was all-natural, and it was her most favorite part of her body. Many women were envious of her hair, and many men were attracted to it.
Seeing the nervous look on her face, the cruelty in his heart surged up. He dragged her to the nearby cabinet and took out a pair of sharp scissors. The look in his eyes was cold as ice when he said, "You know what? Molly had beautiful hair too. But it's a pity that I can't see and hold it ever again."
"Mr. Ye, no!" Kathryn pleaded between sobs. The sound of scissors broke her heart. She subconsciously raised her hands to cover her head and protect her hair.
"Let go," he ordered coldly.
"Please, don't do this to me." She shook her head vigorously. But despite the tears that streamed down her face, his heart didn't soften at all.
No matter how much she begged, long strands of black hair still fell to the white marble floor.
"Stop it, please..." Kathryn tried to pull his hand away. "Ahh!" A shrill scream cut through the air as her fingers were cut by the scissors. Blood flowed down her wrist and stained her white dress.
Patrick threw the scissors and pushed her away. He then shouted, "Remember, don't you ever dream of falling in love."
Kathryn's face was white as a sheet. Her lips trembled, making her unable to speak.
Since she was injured, Kathryn asked for a leave of absence from school.
She then went to the salon to have her hair fixed. Fortunately, the hairdresser was skillful enough to style her short hair. But looking at herself in the mirror, she felt strange. She looked down at her injured fingers. Sadness overwhelmed her in an instant. She wanted to cry, but it seemed that she had no tears to shed anymore.
For an aspiring pianist like her, who excelled in the music college, injured fingers would undoubtedly ruin her future. Luckily, the doctor told her that her injury was not severe. She just needed to rest for some time to heal her fingers.
Before Kathryn went to bed that night, she talked to her fingers as if they could hear her. "I hope you all recover sooner. Please, I need you during the annual performance report."
The annual performance report of the music college was a platform for elite students to showcase themselves. It was held before the summer vacation.
Kathryn did her best to recover fast. She rested well and ate healthy food that could help her wounds heal quickly. Soon enough, she was able to return to school.
In the dead of night, she was sleeping soundly.
All of a sudden, she felt a warmth spread through her body. Something felt strange. It was as if someone other than her was breathing inside the room.
Kathryn opened her eyes slowly with a frown. And she was taken aback by what she saw.
When Patrick saw the terrified expression on her face, a familiar desperate smile appeared on his face. "Do you know how it feels after being raped?"
"What?" Kathryn looked at Patrick nervously. After that day that he cut her hair, he disappeared again. And now, he suddenly showed up inside her room.
With a frown, Patrick closed his eyes slightly. He looked tired. The pungent smell of alcohol penetrated her nostrils. She pushed him hard and said. "You're drunk!"
Indeed, Patrick was drunk. Because when Kathryn pushed him, he just fell to the bed.
She took advantage of the situation and jumped off the bed in a hurry. But when she was about to run away, he grabbed her wrist and threw her back to the bed. He then bent over and pressed her struggling legs.
"No!" Kathryn was so terrified. The memory of her first day in this house flashed back in her mind. But today, Patrick looked more irrational than that day.
He held her face and sneered, "Save your strength. Don't waste it on useless things."
Patrick was like a beast attacking his prey. Knowing that she had a little chance of running way, she thought of a way to stop him.
"Patrick, please think of Molly. She won't like what you are doing right now. I'm sure she doesn't want you to treat women like this. You will just make her sad."
In the state of despair, Kathryn subconsciously mentioned Molly. She thought that it would save her. But to her dismay, what she said only lit up the fire in Patrick's heart.
"How dare you mention Molly's name! I will never forgive you for killing her!" Patrick seemed to be out of his mind now. Kathryn couldn't help screaming.
He wrapped his body to her like a python. His strength was slowly overwhelming every inch of her nerves.
Kathryn felt like dying. It was like she would run out of breath at any moment. Why was life so cruel to her? It was as if she was born to endure endless pains and sufferings.
Kathryn struggled with all her might. But in the end, darkness devoured her.
The truth was, Patrick was not interested in her. He didn't like her at all. There was only one woman in his heart, and that was Molly. However, Molly was gone, and he could never have her back forever because of Kathryn.
And to let Kathryn know the incomparable sadness he felt since Molly died, the best way was to trample her dignity.
In the courtyard outside Patrick's house, there was an artificial lake.
The sun shone brightly on the surface of the lake, and the reflection of the sky turned its water blue.
With a cold face, Patrick leaned against the chair under the sun umbrella. For many years, this had been his favorite part of his house.
He looked up at the sky. There, he saw some images floating in front of him. Once again, he was reminded of the sad past. With one hand resting on his forehead, Patrick sighed heavily. He was trying to get rid of the past, but he just couldn't.
Kathryn stood quietly in front of the window in the corridor. She was looking at Patrick, who was resting by the lake. Her heart was filled with different emotions.
"Everyone was so nervous when Mr. Ye came back last night."
Kathryn heard a maid's low voice coming from the corner of the corridor, so she quickly hid behind the thick curtain.
"Yes, he was really scary," another maid said with a sigh. "Yesterday is his father's death anniversary. Even in the past, he was always in a bad mood on this day. Everyone in this house couldn't help feeling nervous and wary."
After the two maids left, Kathryn walked out of the curtain and thought to herself, 'Yesterday is the death anniversary of Patrick's father?'
The music college in Kathryn's school would hold a concert sponsored by the new star pianist. His name was Justin, and he was a former student of this school.
Kathryn walked to the jam-packed concert hall without being noticed. Most of the audience were girls, who were Justin's avid fans. They were dying to see the handsome face of their legendary idol.
The building's European style design made it look spacious and bright. Entering this building gave people a feeling of they were in the Le Louvre Museum and the Golden Hall of Vienna combined.
Finally, Kathryn squeezed through the crowd and had a clear view of the center of the hall.
The stage in the middle of the magnificent music hall was adorned with golden lights. A white grand piano was standing at the center like a princess with inherent pride and elegance.
In front of the piano sat a handsome young man in a black tuxedo. His outfit totally contrasted the color of the piano, but black and white indeed matched perfectly. It even emphasized the man's elegant and unique charm.
Looking at his slender fingers, Kathryn felt envious. They were so amazing when playing.
