CHAPTER ONE

"Ben....ben....ben!!!!" i kept calling repeatedly even though he was right in front me just staring at his phone screen....today is our supposed anniversary but its already 10pm and he hasn't said a word i wish i could read through his mind and know if he even thinks of me as a woman...

i collect his phone and walked away as i could hear him hiss and i could feel him slowly following me ...pulling me to himself

"stop this childish play of yours,i dont want to hurt you",what!!...hurt me when did we get to this extent

"why are you torturing me Ben,tell me what did i do wrong i keep leaving like a prisoner for three years now..why cant you touch me once for a change"

"i dont want to...let just ignore each other like we always did just to avoid quarrels,please maya " i stood there looking at him totally confused i dont even know what to do anymore i cant even tell anyone....the maids are too old to understand me some are even too rude and my mom wont even look at me twice i have no siblings or relatives to reach out to

"fine,take back your phone" i said handing his phone over to him and walking away

"i'm sorry ,maya" he whispered i didn't even say a word but just walked away

After few hours i hear a soft knock on my door

"come in jason"

"wow..you always know its me" jason said as i tap the space beside me for him to sit

"why do you look all grumpy .....he didn't remember your anniversary right?"

"yes jason he just threatened to hurt me"

"don't take it to heart that how he behaves" he budges me a little and i smile to assure him i'm fine

"you look exhausted,how was work today"i tried to change the topic he noticed where i was heading and just smiled

"work was stressful who knew Benjamin work could be this hard,i would go to the battle field a thousand times than to sit in that office" i laughed to my heart content not cause he was hilarious but because he is bad at making jokes

"have you eaten anything yet,i made brown soup should i serve you some"

"ohh,maya dont worry much i ate before coming home that's mainly why i'm late today"

i could feels his eyes on me as i slowly look him in the eyes.....why do i feel drawn to jason so much,he looks like the younger version of Benjamin but different eyes...very tempting eyes,thats when it dawn to me that we were both too close

"i think you should go freshen up....its late we would continue this conversation tomorrow"he nods and stand up to leave.

"Goodnight Maya"he tells me as i smiled

-JASON POV-

I need to stop doing this Maya is my brothers wife ......if i don't restrain myself this wont end well

but benjamin doesn't love her he doesn't even care she looks so lonely

maybe if i talk to him he might consider....i knock quietly on his door,i hear his voice telling me to come in

" Ben can we talk"

"but it's late...what could be so important that you cant say tomorrow" he said harshly not even looking at me

"yes it is important...it's about Maya-"

"no no no....i dont want to discuss about it,"

"why did you even marry her if you cant treat her right for once...she needs you"

"she is just being childish she coped perfectly fine alone....i dont know why she is bringing you into this"Benjamin replied now facing me

"then divorce her"

"i can't" he said but the expression on his face clearly showed he didn't care

"i'm disappointed in you big time i don't know what made you be like this but i don't like it one bit....goodnight" i walked out without even caring to hear anything more from him

-MAYA POV-

it's been three days since i have seen Benjamin and Jason comes home late i'm waiting for benjamin tonight i need permission to go to the mall.

jason walks in a little tipsy and smells of alcohol

"jason why are you drunk...."i asked assisting him to the nearest coach as he chuckles

"why don't you divorce Ben,if you are scared you might get poor i am all opened to marry you" what does he mean marry me why is he talking about me in his drunk state

"Jason you are just drunk that's why you imagining me divorcing ben"

"yeah i'm drunk but i can really express myself more in this state"

he chuckles again and taps the space beside him for me sit

" do you know what i love the most about you?" he asked ,how am i supposed to know that

"no i don't....just go straight to the point so you can go freshen up and rest "

"Is Jason fu**ing drunk"Ben shouting interrupting both of us

"get the fuck up jason i told you not to ever get drunk in my house"

"i'm not drunk just tipsy"jason replied as he stands up picks up his coat and walks towards ben

"Don't ever shout at me cause i live with you .....i decided to and can also go when i want you aren't my fucking mom to boss me round like you boss maya around" with those words he left the sitting room leaving me and Benjamin who was lost in his thoughts

'what was he telling you?" ben asked still standing in the same position...i just look away and didn't say a thing

"i asked you a question now...answer me"

"you are even acting more miserable than jason who was drunk" i said and walked out

"Maya,you can't just walk out on me like that"

"please ben let me be tonight i have no time for your quarrels and i'm going to the mall tomorrow"

"you aren't going anywhere..one of the maids would do that"

"but whats so hard for you to let me go to the mall"

"fine go but you aren't going without a guard or maid"

"your mom came to my office today" my mom i haven't heard from her for the past eight months

"she needed a loan, and i gave it to her"

'why....wh...why is she doing this to me,why does she always has to come to you"

"who would she go to if not me?....at least that's why i married you to waste money all the time" i looked at him angrily i didn't even know when i started crying

"whats wrong with you maya.why are you crying for little things"

"i'm tired ben thats why i'm crying ...please leave my room,i need a little space to think"..he stood motionless for some seconds before he leaves

Going to the mall wasn't a bad idea cause i felt relaxed seeing people around me ....i bought all my needful and walk towards the cashier giving her ben's card

"hmm...madam a black card you must be well okay to have this" the cashier said as i forced a smile

"wow ....Benjamin George,are you like his maid or something" this isn't the first time i'm getting such unpleasant comments because almost everyone thinks Ben is single we have never been seen together neither has he talked about me for once since our marriage

"ma'am....you seemed lost or are you a little offended with my question"

"no i'm not but just so you know Ben is my husband i'm not his maid"she looked really surprised i'm also surprised i had to guts to break Ben rules

"its fine i'm not that careless or dumb....can you debit me so i can go" she hurriedly packed my items neatly....is this how it feels to bear Ben name in public,i think i need to start bearing the name more often my maid collects the bags as i walked out of the mall ,the driver opens the car door for me to get in as i turn swiftly to see the cashier expression and as expected she looked shocked as she keeps bowing through the glass

i quietly looked through the window as we drives around new york city

"stop james....i need some groceries also"

The minute i step into the the grocery store i could feel all eyes on me which was weird cause i come here almost all the time and no one ever even notices me......i walk around the store looking for food items when i hear a camera click and someone says oops quietly ...i turn and its a girl my age taking a photo of me

"what do you think you are doing?" i shouted feeling disgusted from a whole new level

"i'm sorry miss George" how does she know my husbands name

" why were you taking photos of me?"i asked

" you are like the most trending person right now and i was really honored to meet Mr Benjamin's wife i just had to take a photo"

i won't want to look bad on the internet cause some people were already taking shots and videos of the situation...so i waved it off and walked past her ,i just hope i won,t get into trouble from ben when i get home

"Why the fuck would you meddle in my business Jason" it seemed Jason and Ben were at it again with their little quarrels .....it would be better if i ignore them cause the result of my last involvement wasn't good,i try to quickly walk past them

" look talk about the devil and the devil shows up" Ben uttered as i slowly look at both of them,what does their argument has to do with me

"good evening everyone" i said quietly and Jason smiled but ben still looked pissed

"did you see whats going online about us" Ben asked

"see what .....i don't take my phone out with me"

"then you better go check and get ready for some press conference tomorrow morning"

"not another word Maya .....you have done enough harm already" i looked at jason for a little hint but he didn't seem to be paying any attention,i walked away without saying anything i opened my wardrobe and take out my phone and the first thing i did was search for ben name for any trending news

and there it was my biggest nightmare

"let go of me Ben...please" he pushes me away as i fall with my butt on the floor..i licked my lips and i could taste blood i was bleeding and it hurts alot

I stood up and left this is the best I could do to get his attention and I'm paying for it so if his mother dare to call me and tell me I'm a barren I might end up saying harsh words to her

I looking around the cabinet in the kitchen for the first aid box

After cleaning my bruise Jason kept me busy with stories of his days in the military.. sometimes I wonder why he quited or why he decided to be under Ben or live with us but I see it's a family issue and I shouldn't ask ,I have also never seen him with a lady before nor heard of him talking about any ..I already made up my mind to live my best from Benjamin wealth and starting from tommorow I would put my plans In action.

The next day I wore my best dress put on my most expensive jewelries and took the best car out just to eat in a nearby restaurant.....I kept hearing whispers around and I know it's because the news of me being married to Ben has spread like wild fire....a really high class lady walked up to me she really knows how to spend money cause everything on her actually screams ' I'm rich' .....and from looking at her she seems like a really smiling person

Ben of all people that guy is like a devil they are all making mistakes by liking him...I know it's mainly because of he looks handsome and also dresses elegant

She is very right if Ben is this well-known outside it makes me very well know too...I need to take advantage of it

"Oh my God...it's almost 10,I'm so fucking late" I said hurriedly as I pick up my purse and phone, picking Jason call

"Maya where are you Ben is furious,hurry back and explain later" Jason said hanging up.....I run to the cashier, how much is my bill please

I have been standing at the entrance for almost twenty minutes and I'm too frightened to step in,I know Ben would punish me for coming late

Last night was terrible, I'm just too scared to recall it...after standing up for myself he slapped me and I lost balance gaining a huge wound close to my eye....Jason treated it for me but Ben didn't even say two words to me after then ,he just ordered for a make-up artist to make my injury less noticable for the conference which just started

"Mrs George..why did you say you were a mistress at first when you are legally married to Mr George" one of the reporters asked ...Ben already gave me some lines to say for each question and I had to follow the rules

"Hahahaha...very funny, I love her so much and if I tell people about her .. paparazzi and reporters like you guys won't let her be at peace... everyday of her life would be monitored which isn't right " Ben said....was he being truthful or just another lie ,Ben doesn't love me he is giving fake news to the reporters..I look back at the reporters and they are all whispering to each other while nodding they actually agreed to his lie

"It's very true Mr George...her privacy is very important,for how long have you too been married?"

"Yes I did and as you said it was just a scandal and nothing more" why is he denying it..if I can remember clearly Jason said he was a womanizer and Lily is no difference from a prostitute.... could they really be dating or sleeping around with each other

"Huh" I replied everyone was looking at me quietly clearly stating the fact that I blanked out for some minutes

"Yes i know about it..it's just a scandal and fake news they was nothing between them I rest assure you guys" I said as they all jott down My speech as the clicking of cameras continue ...Ben signal his guard to come escort us out

"We are sorry but we have to end it here for now" Ben said as the reporters come closer trying to make us answer more questions as we walk away with the guards escorting us to the car.

The ride home was very silent ...Ben was on his phone and I was lost in thoughts still thinking about Lily and Ben scandal..why do I feel like it's true... paparazzi don't lie right?

"Ohh Maya can't you welcome me openly,you know we are best friends now...at least a hug is enough" Lily said but wasn't even looking at me as she walks towards me hugging me lightly like I was a fungus or trash ....Ben was a little stiff as she walks towards Ben

"Hi Lily ... you're welcome, have a sit...... Maya get her a drink" really don't we have maids why did he really have to make things worst in the presence of his s*x mate

"Okay" I said and walked away reluctantly

I head towards the kitchen and meet the maids cooking...

"Prepare a glass of drink for my guest, I would come get it myself" I told them as they bowed and I ran back towards the living room to get a glimpse on their conversation

"So you didn't miss me Ben...." Lily asked as she is already seated on Ben's lap, I felt really bad that even the paparazzi knew my husband better than me...Jason was right I was killing myself to please Ben ...he had Lily and everyother sexy girl out there

"Why did you come to my house...we could have met in a motel or something" Ben asked

" I came here to say hi to Maya and I missed your touch I had no choice" she replied seductively as she slowly takes off his tie ... giving him hickeys on his neck and collar bone

" You don't interfere in my matrimonial affair... don't try this again"

" Are you scared of your wife" she asked

" Hahaha...my wife?.....it's the opposite way, I just don't want another scandal with you I had to pretend to love Maya so much today that it disgust me each time I remember" he replied, Lily smiles and kisses Ben on the lips....I didn't even know when I started sobbing silently, this was the worst that had ever happened to me in a while

I couldn't go back to the living room so I sent the girls to serve the tea and made up an excuse of not feeling too well and would talk to her over the phone.....after the little tears I shedded earlier I felt no remorse, like I was expected to be hurt more than this but after some hours front of the TV it became something of the past to me

I check the clock on the wall, and it was past 9...Jason was late again today after few minutes Jason knocked on my door as usual

"Welcome back Jason, come in" I said as he walked in smiling while trying effortlessly to hide something behind his back

"Maya" he shouted hugging me..which was unexpected

" I saw you on the news today..you did excellent" he added

"Ohh so you hugged me cause of that little thing....I'm an expert actress, Don't you know"

" I know but I had my own fare share of doubts but today you proved me wrong" he said sitting beside me on my bed while unwrapping the box he tried hiding earlier

"You're a keeper....I bought a little present to cheer you up and also to congratulate you on your good work" he said as he revailed want was in the pack.

" Chocolate!!!" I screamed happily while hugging him tightly

" Maya careful... you are hugging me too tight "he said lowly as I jerked off from him ... composing myself....I haven't had chocolate for a very long time and even when I pass by it I don't think of buying it ..but Jason giving me it as a present made me so happy

"So I made a good choice buying you chocolates...I almost bought you lingerie" Jason joked as I hit him softly on the shoulder

" Stop Jason.. can I eat it now"

"Yes yes please..it's all yours, while you eat I would go get your first aid kit" he said as he walks to my closet to bring it out ...in less than ten minutes I was done with the chocolate and Jason was done disinfecting my wound

"Thanks Jason..I had a really bad day today ...this chocolate really went a long way "

" You always have a bad day Maya this was just to cheer you up because today is my birthday"

" Jason!!!!!!....today is your birthday and you are just telling me,you should have told me earlier so I would also get you a gift" I said as he chuckled

" Your smile was the best gift I could get"

" Aww Jason.. your so bad at flirting..make a wish and I will grant it" I said

" Really..."

" Yeah just ask" he looked at me for a while mostly my lips...this was already getting awkward

"Let's have champagne Tonight for my birthday" he finally said..I don't know why I felt a bit sad he couldn't ask for something more he also didn't look happy with his wish

"Are you sure " I asked

"Yes I would go get the champagne" Jason said as he stands up and runs out

"Stop going beyond Maya ...he is your brother in law...how could give him a wish what if he advance to a kiss or something"..I said to myself while imagining everything in my head and slowly a smile creeped on my face,Jason walks with a wine and cups

"What are you smiling about.." he asked

"Nothing....let's celebrate!!!!!!!" I said jumping on the bed, clapping my hands

"Get down let's drink this wine till stupor "

" Yes!!!!"

We drank the whole bottle of the wine empty..I was drunk and so was Jason ..we sat on my bed playing rock,paper... scissors, I don't know what moved me to act flirty to Jason as one thing lead to another and we kissed...I kissed Jason and when I realized what I was doing I pulled away we were inches apart I could feel his breath on my lips.

"We shouldn't be doing this Maya" was the only words Jason uttered as we continued kissing but this time more intense...I know I was making a mistake but couldn't stop.
