COMPLETED! "It was just a kind gesture, Evan," I tried to explain, understanding his concern but he didn't seem to be in a listening mood. "I don't care," he declared in a low tone, his eyes locked on mine. He continued dragging me until we reached the kitchen sink . He then washed my hands after drying them he spoke "Nobody can kiss these hands, only me. Is that clear?" he said in an angry tone to which I nodded "I wish I included this in the contract" He said kissing my hands, revealing his jealousy and his growing attachment to me. In a twist of fate, Evan's long-lost love, Lily as Amy, resurfaces in New York. Presumed dead after a tragic bridge incident, Amelia's memory loss leads her to believe she belongs to a different life. Chapter 1 Cheating scandal

Lily's POV

My heart raced as the masked girl approached me with a menacing knife. Panic set in, and I pleaded, "Please, I have a..." My words were cut off, as I noticed Evan and Sophia on the other end.

Desperation took over, and I tried to run towards them. However, the masked lady, relentless in my pursuit, threw a stone in front of me which caused me to trip and fall into the sea, I heard my scream echoing, "Nooo!!!"

Evan's P.O.V

"Lilly nooo!!!" I screamed, falling on my knees but luckily landed on Sophia's laps who had tears in her eyes too.

"Evan it is okay, I am so sorry," Sophia comforted me.

I lay on her lap as she caressed my hair, I couldn't cry, there were just no tears. I promised a family with her, I promised to go on tour and finally bring her out to the public after winning my grammy.

I just watched the love of my life fall off the bridge into the ocean, the worse part is I'll never even get to bury her body as we won't find it in the ocean.

EIGHT YEARS LATER

Amelia's POV

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions as I helped my grandmother settle into her new assisted living facility. It's a bittersweet experience witnessing her adjust to this new chapter in her life, knowing it's the best decision for her well-being. Amidst this, I've been actively job hunting, sending out resumes, and attending interviews at various publishing firms in South Africa, hoping for a breakthrough in my career.

One sunny afternoon, while sitting in my grandmother's room, my phone chimed with a call from my cousin, Ifeoma, who moved to South Africa a few months ago for job opportunities. I eagerly answered, my heart lightening at the sight of Ifeoma's face on the screen.

"Ifeoma! It's so good to see you," I exclaimed, genuine warmth in my voice.

Ifeoma smiled, but I could sense a hint of exhaustion in her eyes. "Amelia, it's been quite a journey here in South Africa. The job market is tough, as you know."

I nodded empathetically, familiar with the challenges of finding work in a competitive field. "Ifeoma, you're a talented journalist. Something will come your way soon, I'm sure of it."

Ifeoma's expression brightened slightly, appreciating my encouragement. "Thank you, cousin. Speaking of news, I have something interesting to share with you."

Leaning in, intrigued, I asked, "What's going on?"

Ifeoma leaned closer to the camera, her voice lowered to a whisper. "You won't believe the latest gossip from Nigeria. Our famous music artist, Emeka – you know, the one who's been making waves internationally?"

Recalling Emeka's name from headlines, I nodded. "Yes, I've heard of him. What's the news?"

Ifeoma hesitated for a moment before continuing, "Well, it turns out that Emeka has found himself in a rather scandalous situation. He's impregnated an American model, and the story is making headlines both in Nigeria and internationally."

My eyes widened in surprise. "That's... unexpected. I didn't know he was involved with anyone, let alone an American model."

Ifeoma nodded, "Yes, it's causing quite the stir back home. The media is having a field day with it, and fans are both shocked and intrigued. It's all over social media, and there's speculation about how this will impact his career."

Feeling a twinge of sympathy for Emeka, who was undoubtedly facing public scrutiny, I remarked, "Ifeoma, fame comes with its own set of challenges, doesn't it?"

Ifeoma sighed, "It certainly does, cousin. It's a reminder that even the most famous among us have their own personal struggles and moments of vulnerability."

As Ifeoma and I continued our conversation, the news of Emeka's unexpected situation served as a reminder of the complexities of fame and the unexpected twists that life could bring, even for those living on different continents.

Authors POV

Skylar and Amelia had been chatting more frequently in the days following their initial conversation. What had started as a message of support had blossomed into a genuine friendship. They talked about their interests, shared stories about their lives, and even found themselves laughing together over shared jokes.

One evening, as they were video calling, Skylar leaned in closer to her screen, curiosity gleaming in her eyes. "Amelia, I've been meaning to ask you, what do you do for a living? You've been so kind and supportive, and I'd love to know more about you."

Amelia, who had been sipping on her tea, set her cup down and smiled warmly. "Well, Skylar, I came to South Africa to pursue a career in book editing. It's my passion, and I've been sending out applications to publishing firms, but it's been quite challenging to find a job in the field."

Skylar listened intently, nodding sympathetically. "I can imagine how tough the job market can be, especially in such a competitive industry. But you're incredibly talented and dedicated, Amelia. Don't give up."

Amelia's heart warmed at Skylar's words, appreciating the encouragement. "Thank you, Skylar. Your support means the world to me."

Skylar leaned back, her expression thoughtful. Then, an idea seemed to light up her eyes. "Amelia, what if I told you that I might have a solution to your job search?"

Amelia blinked in surprise. "A solution? What do you mean?"

Skylar grinned. "Well, you know how you've always dreamt of working in New York, right?"

Amelia nodded, a hint of longing in her eyes. "Yes, it's been a dream of mine."

Skylar's voice was filled with determination. "Amelia, why don't you come to New York and look for work here? I have connections in the publishing industry, and I know some amazing people who could help you get your foot in the door. You'd be my guest, and we could make it work together."

Amelia was taken aback by Skylar's offer, her heart racing with excitement. "Skylar, that's incredibly generous of you, but I couldn't impose like that."

Skylar waved her hand dismissively. "Nonsense, Amelia! Friends help each other out. Besides, I have a feeling you're going to make a fantastic editor, and I'd love to have you closer, I don't really have friends here so you might fill up that space. What do you say?"

Amelia hesitated for only a moment before a radiant smile spread across her face. "Skylar, I can't thank you enough for this opportunity. I accept your invitation, and I can't wait to start this new chapter in New York."

Skylar's smile matched Amelia's enthusiasm. "That's the spirit! We'll make it work, and I promise it'll be an adventure you won't forget."

As the private jet soared through the clouds en route to New York, Amelia found herself in a seat next to a strikingly handsome man covered in tattoos. His aura exuded confidence and mystery, and his bodyguards stood nearby, a testament to his prominence. They were total strangers sharing the confined space of the luxurious cabin.

Amelia, however, wasn't one to be easily intimidated. Skylar's connections had secured her a place on this exclusive flight, and she had a visa approved thanks to Skylar's influence. Her fearlessness and carefree spirit had gotten her this far.

She settled into her seat and closed her eyes, intending to catch some rest during the journey. Unbeknownst to her, the tattooed man watched her with a mixture of curiosity and admiration. Her peaceful and unafraid demeanor, even in the presence of strangers, left an impression on him.

As the hours passed, the gentle hum of the jet's engines and the rhythmic motion of the flight eventually lulled Amelia into a deep slumber. She shifted in her sleep and inadvertently leaned against the tattooed man, her head resting on his chest.

Her proximity didn't go unnoticed by the vigilant bodyguards, who moved to intervene. However, the tattooed man raised a hand, silently signaling them to stand down. He didn't speak a word; instead, he continued to watch Amelia's peaceful face with a soft, almost affectionate gaze.

Amelia slept soundly, unaware of the unusual connection forming between her and the mysterious stranger beside her. In that moment, the confines of the private jet seemed to shrink, and two worlds collided in the most unexpected way.

The private jet had safely landed in New York, and as the engines powered down, the tattooed man gently tapped Amelia's shoulder to wake her up. Startled, she quickly got up, not even uttering a thank you, and exited the jet, her heart racing with excitement to meet her friend Skylar.

Skylar was waiting outside the jet, her eyes filled with anticipation. As Amelia stepped onto the tarmac, their joyful reunion was filled with laughter and hugs. Skylar was thrilled that her friend had made the journey, and Amelia couldn't have been happier to see a familiar face in this new city.

Meanwhile, inside the jet, the tattooed man was left with a sense of intrigue and curiosity. He was accustomed to adoring fans and admirers, but this encounter was different. The woman who had slept on his chest seemed completely unfazed by his presence, and she had left without so much as a word of thanks.

Something about her indifference had ignited a spark of curiosity within him that he couldn't ignore. He had never met a woman who treated him this way, and it piqued his interest in a way he couldn't explain.

Ignoring the protests of his bewildered bodyguards, he made a hasty exit from the jet, determined to catch a glimpse of the woman who had left such an impression on him. As he stepped onto the tarmac, he was met with the blaring horn of a car's arrival.

Amelia and Skylar were already on their way, driving off in the excitement of their reunion, leaving the tattooed man standing there, his curiosity growing with each passing moment. He watched the car drive away, a newfound intrigue filling his thoughts. For the first time in a long time, he was captivated by someone who didn't seem captivated by him, and he couldn't help but wonder what made her so different.

Chapter 2 Excuse me you blind

Amelia had settled into her new life in New York, and her career as a book editor was off to a promising start, all thanks to Skylar's connections. As she packed her things for an unexpected meeting with an investor on a Saturday, she couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunities that had come her way.

The cab arrived, and she made her way back to the apartment where Skylar was waiting, their pretty dresses laid out on the bed. Amelia knew she had an important meeting tomorrow, but she couldn't resist Skylar's enthusiasm when she pouted her lips and invited her to a show hosted by Jason, the famous artist.

Amelia agreed, not wanting to disappoint her friend. She chose a stunning A-line dress and left her hair flowing, feeling sexy and confident in her own right. Skylar, always a vision of beauty, wore a short dress that highlighted her figure, and together, they looked like a pair of Hollywood stars.

Skylar's charisma and beauty had certainly captured the attention of the Nigerian artist, but it was her heart and generosity that Amelia had come to appreciate. Since her arrival in the city, Skylar had been a supportive friend, never mentioning the drama again but instead helping to boost Amelia's career.

As they made their way to the glamorous event, surrounded by celebrities and the glittering lights of New York City, Amelia couldn't help but reflect on how much her life had changed in such a short time. She was not only living her dream as a book editor but was also experiencing the world of fame and glamour through Skylar's connections.

The night promised to be filled with surprises and excitement, and Amelia was ready to embrace it all, from the star-studded show to the unexpected twists that life in the city had in store for her.

Amy's P.O.V

The show was absolutely incredible. Watching my favorite artists, including Offset, perform live had been a dream come true. The energy in the venue was infectious, and I couldn't help but get caught up in the excitement.

After a few shots of courage, I decided to excuse myself and headed toward the restroom. Little did I know that a surprise encounter was waiting for me. As I hurried through the crowded hallway, I bumped into a solid, imposing figure. Irritated by the collision, I turned to face the man, ready to give him a piece of my mind.

"Excuse me, are you blind? now move," I said firmly, not bothering to hide my annoyance.

The man, who looked familiar but whose name I couldn't quite place in my slightly inebriated state, raised an eyebrow and asked me to repeat myself. I obliged, my impatience growing.

"Move, now" I said once more, this time with a touch of frustration in my voice.

To my surprise, he actually moved out of the way, and I continued on my way to the restroom. Inside, I took a moment to assess my appearance in the mirror, and washed my hands. Feeling a bit more composed, I made my way back to the hallway, ready to rejoin the festivities.

But as I stepped out of the restroom, I was met with the sight of that same man standing across the door, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. My heart skipped a beat as I realized he hadn't moved just to be polite; he had something else in mind, and I had a feeling this encounter was far from over.

"Are you stalking me?" I blurted out, my voice quivering with a mix of fear and confusion. But the mysterious tattooed man didn't respond with words. Instead, he closed the distance between us, causing me to instinctively step backward until my back was pressed against the door.

He leaned in, his breath grazing my hair as he whispered in a low, almost seductive tone, "I like you, so much, and I'm going to make you mine."

My heart raced, and a shiver ran down my spine. I felt a strange mixture of attraction and discomfort. Gathering my courage, I finally managed to stammer out, "You're sick."

To my surprise, instead of being offended or angered by my words, he smiled-a smile that made my knees weak. "Thank you," he responded, taking my accusation as a compliment.

He leaned in even closer, and I could feel his lips drawing near for a kiss when a familiar voice interrupted the intense moment. "Baby!"

Skylar's excited voice cut through the tension, and the tattooed man immediately pulled away from me. My heart was still pounding as I watched Skylar rush toward him, her arms outstretched for a hug.

I didn't waste a moment. With a mixture of relief and confusion, I quickly slipped out of the restroom, not daring to look back. Skylar had caught up to me in no time, running after me.

"Amelia, wait!" Skylar called, trying to catch her breath. "I wanted to introduce you to him. That's 'Baby,' the famous artist!"

I stopped in my tracks, feeling a wave of disbelief wash over me. I had just met one of the most famous artists in the world, the enigmatic "Baby." The same man whose music I had heard of but had never imagined I would encounter in real life, let alone have such a surreal and intense interaction with.

As Skylar gushed about "Baby" and how much of a big deal he was, I couldn't help but think that my life had taken an unexpected and thrilling turn, one I never could have predicted when I first arrived in New York.

Chapter 3 Are you stalking me

The same man whose music I had heard of but had never imagined I would encounter in real life, let alone have such a surreal and intense interaction with.

As Skylar gushed about "Baby" and how much of a big deal he was, I couldn't help but think that my life had taken an unexpected and thrilling turn, one I never could have predicted when I first arrived in New York.

As I reached home after the unexpected encounter with "Baby," the famous artist, Skylar introduced me to her boyfriend, Christian. I was a bit surprised, considering the recent drama between Skylar and the Nigerian artist. However, I didn't want to pry or question her choices, so I simply went along with it.

Skylar, ever considerate of my feelings, asked if I would be okay going home alone while she spent the night with Christian. I didn't want to ruin her mood, so I reassured her that I would be fine on my own.

After Skylar left with Christian, he kindly arranged for his driver to take me home. I appreciated the gesture and thanked him before heading back to my apartment. It was already quite late when I got home, and Skylar called immediately to make sure I had arrived safely.

I appreciated her concern, but my mind was still buzzing with thoughts of the enigmatic "Baby" and our strange encounter in the restroom. I couldn't help but wonder what had compelled him to say those intriguing words to me. Was it just the influence of alcohol, or was there something more behind it?

Despite my late-night musings, I had to wake up early the next morning for an important meeting with our investor. My secretary had reminded me about it, and she had already sent all the details. I rushed through my morning routine, barely taking a moment to look in the mirror before heading out.

I reached the cafe where I was supposed to meet the investor, and to my surprise, it was "Baby" sitting there. Shock and surprise filled both of us as we locked eyes. He stood up, pulled out a chair for me, and I sat, my heart racing.

He asked if I wanted anything, but I declined, still feeling a bit flustered. He excused his bodyguards and the assistant, leaving us alone. My confidence gradually returned, and I managed a polite smile.

Before I could even finish a sentence about our publishing company, he introduced himself as Evan Carter and stretched out his hand. I awkwardly responded, "Amelia Fords," but I didn't take his hand, still a bit overwhelmed by the situation.

Evan's piercing gaze met mine as we sat in the cozy cafe. The initial shock of finding him here slowly transformed into a mixture of curiosity and unease. He was our investor, a powerful figure in the world of entertainment, and I was just an aspiring book editor with dreams of making it in the literary world.

As we settled into the conversation, I couldn't help but wonder about the man who had confessed his desire for me just the night before. Was this a business meeting or something more? The atmosphere was charged with an unspoken tension.

Evan broke the silence with a faint smile and asked, "Amelia, how about we put business aside for a moment and have a real conversation?"

I nodded hesitantly, unsure of where this was leading. "Alright, Evan. What would you like to talk about?"

He leaned in closer, his eyes never leaving mine. "Tell me, Amelia, what brings a talented editor like you to the city that never sleeps? There must be more to your story."

I shifted uncomfortably in my chair, not used to such direct and personal inquiries in a professional setting. "Well, I've always dreamt of working in the world of books and literature. New York seemed like the place where dreams come true."

Evan's gaze held a depth of understanding that surprised me. "Dreams can take you to unexpected places, Amelia. They can lead to encounters you never imagined. Isn't that what makes life interesting?"

I couldn't deny the truth in his words. Dreams had indeed brought me to this unexpected encounter with Evan. As we continued to talk, our conversation strayed from the realm of business, touching on shared interests, and even some personal anecdotes. The more we talked, the more I realized that Evan was a complex individual, far from the image of a typical investor.

As our meeting concluded, Evan extended his hand once more, this time not for business but in a gesture of friendship. "Amelia, it's been a pleasure getting to know you. I hope we can continue these conversations in the future, both inside and outside the boardroom."

I couldn't deny the intrigue that Evan had sparked in me. Despite the unusual circumstances of our meeting, I found myself looking forward to what the future might hold, both personally and professionally, in this city of dreams and unexpected encounters. He offered me a ride but since Skylar was already waiting for me, I politely declined.

Skylar couldn't contain her excitement as she bombarded me with questions about my encounter with Evan, or as she knew him, "Baby. Yes as soon as i realized the investor was Baby I informed her thats why she eagerly wanted to pick me up. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and it was clear that she held Evan in high regard. As we settled into the car, she leaned closer, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.

"Tell me everything, Amelia," Skylar urged, barely able to contain herself. "Was he charming? Handsome, right? What did he say? How did it go?"

I couldn't help but smile at Skylar's infectious enthusiasm. It was evident that Evan held a special place in her heart. "Well," I began, "he was certainly charming, and yes, handsome as you know. We talked about our company and the film, mostly business stuff."

Skylar nodded enthusiastically, her interest unwavering. "That's amazing! And you know, he's not just a big deal in the music industry; he's genuinely a great guy. Just don't tell him I said that," she added with a playful wink. "How do you know this?" I inquired "I attended his parties and trust me, I know an asshole when I see him" she added.

As we continued our conversation, Skylar filled me in on more details about Evan's life, sharing stories and anecdotes that painted a picture of a multi-talented artist who had captured the hearts of many. It was clear that there was more to Evan than met the eye, and I couldn't help but be intrigued by the layers of complexity beneath his public persona.

As we approached our destination, Skylar couldn't resist one last question. "So, Amelia, what do you think of him? Is he someone you'd like to get to know better?"

I paused for a moment, reflecting on the unexpected connection that had formed between Evan and me. "I don't know yet," I replied honestly, "but he's definitely an intriguing person, and I'm curious to see where this friendship...or whatever it may become, leads."

Skylar grinned, clearly satisfied with my response. Little did I know that my journey in New York was far from over, and Evan's presence would continue to shape the pages of my life in ways I couldn't yet imagine.
