Cassandra, The Mafia's Bride

Echoes of laughter could be heard everywhere, the scent of red flowers is all over the place. A beautiful lady can be seen running around in the mist of the valley very free and happy. She was still enjoying and appreciating the beauty of nature when she started feeling pain all over her body as if someone somewhere was beating her. She was groaning in pain and wishing that she never woke up from this paradise of peace and comfort.

When she opened her eyes she was mad at her brother for ending her sweet dream. She pursued him all over the house shouting his name out, she wanted to get hold of his shirt collar so that she can give him the beating of his life. But unfortunately her mother stepped in between them, thereby giving her brother some kind of protection. She greeted her mom according to their tradition.

Cassandra: (with a frowning face, got on her knees and bowed her head to the ground) Good morning mother. How was your night? hope you slept well?

Camila( Cassandra's mom): get up, my sleeping beauty. I slept very well.

When Cassandra stood up she wanted to resume the chase, but her mom won't let her. Everyone knew that she had a hot temper that only her mom could quench. Camila gave her a heavy knock on the head making her to groan in pain. Then she caught her left ear and dragged her to the kitchen which was on the second floor of their gigantic mansion, the ALDO'S MANSION.

Aldo is the name of her wealthy father, a very arrogant, proud man. He can go to any extent to get what he wants, even if it's at the cost of his family, he doesn't care. He was friends with Lord Davis but due to his incessant loaning of money without paying back, Lord Davis got angry at him and severed ties with him. Lord Davis was known for his brutal and unforgiving punishment to anyone to owed him. He sent spies to get information about Aldo's family, because he had been hearing rumors that the most beautiful lady in the city was his daughter. So he planned on making him pay with his most beautiful daughter. No debtor gets away from the clutches of Lord Davis without paying, even when the debt is paid, he can still get rid of the person and his family- that was the principle of Lord Davis.

So after making Cassandra to prepare the breakfast and wash all the dishes, her mother sent her to the market to get a few things for dinner. That day's dinner was to be a special one because their father was inviting a friend to dinner. But none of them knew who that friend was, and it was quite puzzling because their father had never hosted a friend or visitor in their house before due to his beautiful daughter that he was trying to protect from the eyes of lustful men in the city.

Everyone was preparing for this dinner but Aldo didn't seem to care, from his expression it could be seen that he was soo worried and didn't want to host the dinner anymore but their was nothing he could do about it.

Lord Davis was very happy and had an unusual smile on his face. He hardly smiles, only when he's about to get paid by a debtor that a little wicked grin appears on his face. He dressed like a god that he is, got out of his mansion and went into his car, a black bugatti chiron. He sat at the back with one of his bodyguard close to him, his driver and one other bodyguard were seated at the front sit.

Then the journey began, as usual Davis will be receiving phone calls from his boys who are already at the entrance of the debtor's house, they will be monitoring the in and out movement of the family member and if anything suspicious is noticed, he will be notified immediately.

The Aldo's were still preparing for this unknown visitor, a couple of dished were made by Cassandra and her mom, the table was prepared by Andrew and Carlos( the boys of the family). They were all expecting the guest to arrive at 8pm sharp, so they all made sure to finish the duties assigned to them before 7pm. When all was arranged and everything was set, they went to their individual rooms to get dressed. When Camilla got to her room she noticed that Aldo was sitting at the edge of the bed facing the window lost in his thoughts and he still had this sad expression on his face, so she drew closer to him and gave him a tight hug which was all he needed. He cuddled in her embrace as if he was expecting one, within seconds he broke down into tears and he started asking her for forgiveness. She was shocked at his request because Aldo was a very proud man who would never ask for forgiveness from anyone even though he's at the wrong, but something was different about him at that time and she just couldn't place her fingers on it. He kept on shedding tears and asking for forgiveness.

Aldo: (in the arms of Camilla) Please forgive me Camilla. I have wronged both you and Cassandra and brought shame to the name of the Aldo's. And I fear that their is nothing I can do about it at this point.

Camilla: (with a puzzled expression on her face) What do you mean by that Aldo? Stop speaking in parables and tell me what's going on.

Aldo: (released himself from her embrace and went straight to the closed window, observed the activities going on outside, then he took a deep breath) I am one of the debtors of Lord Davis.

Camilla: (couldn't believe her ears as she stood up to look at her husband in the eyes as if meaning to remove his eyeballs, then she jerked his collar drawing him closer to herself) WHAT!!! say that again and say it clearly.

Aldo: (could see the fear in the eyes of his wife who was exhaling hot gas directly at his face) I-I-I am a deb-tor of Lord-Davis. I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to, it just happened and now I couldn't pay back his money and favors. I'm really really sorry, I know I've done wrong and I have no excuse what so ever to justify my actions, I deserve whatever punishment you see fit.

Camilla: (felt like tearing him into a million pieces) Do you know the kind of danger you have exposed us to?

Aldo: Yes, I do.

Camilla: (pushed him away and yelled at him) No, you don't. No Aldo, you don't know what you done to us. I thought you were just an arrogant idiot who knew what he was doing but now I know that you are not just arrogant and stupid but also foolish. What did you lack that you accepted favors from Lord Davis of all people, you didn't lend from the state bank but Lord Davis of all calibre. If it was a classy car, you have thongs of them, if it was a mansion, you have at least two that I know of, if it was cash, everyone knows that you are one of the richest in the city, so what else did you need money for? Aldo talk to me!

Aldo: (he fell to the ground heavily and couldn't help but cry out his heart after he realized that he was a pawn in Davis hands all this while, Davis was using him to get a bigger fish, he had been a fool all this while) I'm an idiot! What have I done? My daughter, my family, no, noooo I'm a mess.

Camilla: Now do you realize what you have done? you have sold us cheap Aldo. You have put all our lives at risk, especially that of our daughter. (she started shedding tears) I've noticed for long that you had never wanted to see me smile not even for once, anything that made me smile was always destroyed by you. Now when I thought I had found something that you couldn't takeaway, you proved me wrong yet again. I know fully well that what Davis seeks is my warrior princess, the most beautiful lady in the whole city and beyond. Sometimes I wonder what I saw in you that me made me fall for you to the extent we got married. You are not supposed to be living among us humans but among your kind in the wild- heartless cruel arrogant idiots like you.

Aldo: (cralwed on his knees to his wife, then he hugged her around her knee region and wouldn't let go) I'm sorry, I'm really sorry. I promise to make things right, even if that's the last thing I'll do before I meet my creator. I promise to do it and set our daughter free.

Camilla: (wiped her tears away, then she raised him up to his feet) We will save our daughter together okay. So get ready, he will soon be here.

So they dressed up and waited patiently for Lord Davis on the dinning table. Cassandra was looking stunning of all of them seated on the table, she was the light of the table, very pretty, attractive and beautiful. Which male would lay eyes on her and not want her, even the females of the city worship her not to talk of the males, she's a demi-goddess, a site to behold.

They were all seated on the dining table waiting for their unexpected guest. Lord Davis was just smiling all over, when he reached the house, his bodyguards came out and opened the door for him to step out. Immediately he stepped out in grand style ofcourse, Aldo was seen running out of his huge mansion to come welcome him. When Aldo came, Lord Davis made him to hold his jacket and brief case. Aldo held it with so much honour and respect because he knows that if it should by any chance touch the ground he'll be dead.

Lord Davis was followed by his bodyguards into the mansion, when Cassandra and her siblings saw there invited guest she knew immediately that something was off somewhere, who are they that Lord Davis would come visit them, she was lost in thoughts, the same way Lord Davis was lost in her beauty. When he came closer to the dining table everyone of them stood up for him to sit down. He sat down as if he was the head of the family, that respect and honour of their father was given to him. Their father Aldo, sat down after him then every other person sat down. They were all waiting to hear what brought Lord Davis to their home, especially Cassandra, she was not at peace with herself. The way and manner Lord Davis was starring at her gave her goose bumps allover her body.

She was seriously hoping that her father wasn't a debtor of the mafia lord. As she was still in her thoughts, Davis cleared his throat and looked straight at her dad, then her mom, and finally his gaze was on her, he smirked devilishly. When their eyes met, she quickly looked away.

Lord Davis: I know you are all wondering what I'm doing at your house, well I came to collect what is rightfully mine for the taking. (Then he looked at Aldo who was sweating allover even though the A.C was on) I will only ask one last time, where is the debt you owe me?

Aldo: (Shivering and sweating, looking for an excuse to give that would save his daughter) I-I-I don't have it, but please have mercy on me and give me the grace of one week to pay back, I promise I won't let you down. I have part payment now, I'll provide the remaining before the one week expires, please have mercy on me, don't take my daughter, she's my pride and my everything.

Lord Davis: (started laughing out loud to an extend he couldn't breath, then he looked at Aldo in a very despicable and irritable way) And you think I'll give you more time? All the time I gave you what did you use it to do, you think I'm a fool right? Your time is up Mr. man, there is nothing like another chance once I come to your house to collect my debt, so keep all that pleading to your self I don't need it. I came here to collect what you owe me and as I can see, it's ready, so if you don't mind I don't have time to waste on petty talks, let me have her.

Camilla: (Started crying silently then she looked at her innocent daughter) Lord Davis please I would do anything for the freedom of my daughter, I know that my husband has done you wrong but please don't take my daughter away from me, she's the only precious jewel I have. I would gladly trade myself for her, I would be your slave for a lifetime as long as you spare my daughter.

Lord Davis: (Got tired of them pleading, he stood up from the table and bang it hard and loud, then he glared at all of them on the table especially their father) Stop playing tricks with me, I know what I came here for and I won't leave here until I collect what is rightfully mine. And if I'm provoked you all are going to suffer it, so don't test my patient. Give me what I came here for let me start going.

Cassandra: (disgusted by his demand. Although she was moved at his handsomeness, she still hated him so much. So proud and arrogant, who does he think he is. She stood up and boldly faced him) Who do you think you are to be making such unreasonable demands, aren't you ashamed of yourself? (When she said that her mom held her, pleading with her to keep quite, but she ignored her and kept talking) As old as you are, you are making up excuses to get ladies in the city, so shameful and despicable, you have no shame or remorse. I would rather die than live with an animal like you. Mr. Davis or whatsoever your name is, mark my words, you can't have me or my body and even if you succeed to get what you want, I will never be loyal to you till my death.

Lord Davis: (clapped for her and was laughing mockingly) Hmm, Aldo I already like your daughter's feisty character, it suits me well. I want her more now, young lady don't blame me for whatever is going on now, blame your dad who claims to love you so much, he's the reason I'm taking you away and unfortunately for you, there's nothing you can do about it. (Then he motioned his guys to grab her)

Two hefty men came closer to her and held her both hands tightly, they began to drag her away. She was struggling and calling out her mom's name but to no avail. No one could help her. Her mom was knocked down by one of the hefty men, she hit her head on a stool and blood began to drip from her head. Cassandra wanted to go and help her mom but she couldn't free herself and her dad was seriously pleading with Lord Davis but he turned a deaf ear to his plea.

Lord Davis: (Pushed Aldo away and walked away from the scene proud and happy with himself, he was happy at the destruction and chaos he caused) Once Lord Davis comes to your house there's literally nothing you can do to hinder me from getting what I came for, you can't owe me and be happy, it's not possible.

He left with his bodyguards and the girl, she was throwing curses at him but he kept on smiling devilishly knowing he had gotten what he wanted. He left them broken in pieces, they will never recover from this incident. They rushed there mom to the hospital, and they were all quite till the end of the day.
