Chapter 1 Shame On You

"Let it go, let it go! You'll never see me cry!" Anne Mo lay in the bathtub with her eyes closed. She was applying a facial mask while singing a song. It felt so good to be at home alone.

After singing, she removed the facial mask, got up from the bathtub, and dried her body and hair with a clean towel. She then applied lotion to her body evenly and carefully.

She was done with her nightly beauty regimen and was ready to sleep. Since she was alone at home, she could sleep in the big bed any way she liked.

Anne was in a good mood as she opened the bathroom door naked. However, she was startled by what she saw.

"George? What the..." Anne muttered incoherently. Her eyes widened in shock, staring at the man who was sitting quietly on the sofa.

George Liang raised his eyebrows when he heard the sound. His eyes then fell on Anne's naked body.

"Oh, honey, such a big gift. I'm really flattered," George said in a hoarse voice as he stood up from the sofa and approached her step by step.

"Hey, hey, hey! Aren't you on a business trip? How come you came back all of a sudden?" Anne was so scared that she stepped back. "George, you are a businessman. You should give importance to honesty. Today is Wednesday. It is Wednesday!"

Anne couldn't retreat anymore, but George was still approaching her. Left with no choice, she just leaned against the wall, stared at him with her eyes in horror, and covered herself tightly with her hands.

George looked at Anne up and down, scanning her from head to toe with his deep eyes. It made her tremble with fear.

He then looked into her eyes and asked in a hoarse voice, "You are afraid of me, aren't you?"

Anne cursed inwardly, 'Bullshit!' After their wedding night, she was not able to get out of bed for three days. She even had to apply an ointment for a month. 'If you were me, wouldn't you be afraid? I doubt anyone wouldn't be!'

Anne gritted her teeth with hatred, looked into his deep eyes that were like whirlpools, and said gingerly, "Yes, a little bit."

George pressed his thin lips into a straight line and stared at her pretty face for a long time. He then went into the bathroom without saying a word.

Anne breathed a sigh of relief when she heard the bathroom door closed. She then rushed to the wardrobe in full speed, took out her pajamas, and put them on.

She didn't want to be alone with George, so while he was taking a shower, she took a hairdryer, dried her hair hastily, and jumped onto the bed. She then pulled the quilt and covered herself tightly.

'Go to sleep, Anne. He won't do anything when you are asleep, ' she told herself.

However, she underestimated George's eroticism.

Even if she had successfully fallen asleep, George still woke her up mercilessly.

Half asleep and half awake, Anne opened her eyes. And the first thing she saw was George's handsome face.

She grabbed the quilt that he pulled away, covered her chest, and reminded him again, "Today is Wednesday. You said that we will only have sex on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays."

"It's already past twelve midnight so it's Thursday now," George said in a low voice with an adamant look.

Anne subconsciously raised her eyes and looked at the wall clock. Indeed, it was two past twelve.

Her face flushed as rage surged up in her heart. She lost her tongue for a moment. After a while, she snapped, "You are breaking the rule!"

"How can that be?" George asked calmly, slowly unbuttoning her pajamas.

"In this case, I won't be able to have a good sleep every night," Anne complained. Her eyes widened in fear, and she looked aggrieved after thinking about it carefully.

"When you signed the agreement, it wasn't stated there that I couldn't sleep with you in the small hours, right? So which rule did I break? Anyway, you'll still have Sunday for yourself," George said seriously.

'Damn it!' Anne was now boiling with rage.

Glaring at him, she yelled through clenched teeth, "George Liang, you old man! Shame on you!"

George's face darkened at Anne's words. He pulled the quilt away from her and pressed his body against hers.

"Old man, huh? Let's see," George whispered in her ear angrily while gritting his teeth and pressing her hard on the bed.

Anne knew that no matter what, she would still suffer in the end. So this time, she didn't want to hold back her anger anymore.

"Of course you are an old man! You are almost forty years old. Do you think you can deny it by showing your strength in bed? Taking too much aphrodisiac will overdraw your physical strength. What's more, it has side effects. You may become impotent soon or endanger your life. Stop doing that. Cherish your life, okay?"

Anne was usually timid and didn't dare to speak aloud because she was afraid of getting into trouble. But this time, she was really driven mad by George that she shouted at him regardless of anything.

After venting, she stole a glance at George's expression. She thought, 'Oh, my God! He is livid with rage. It seems that I hit the nail on the head, and my words hurt him."

As a kind-hearted woman in nature, Anne felt sorry for George when she noticed that he didn't say anything for a long time. So she comforted him awkwardly, "Actually, you are not too old. Don't they say that life begins at forty? You're still a man with full potential now. However, human beings cannot compete with the laws of nature. We are all the same. Just face it. After all, you have been young before, and you've experienced many things. When you were already in high school, I wasn't even born yet, right? No one can escape aging. So take it easy and enjoy your time. Don't you agree?"

The expression on George's face couldn't be more terrible. He stared at Anne's beautiful and fair face and said word by word angrily, "When I was in high school, you weren't born yet? Are you sure about that? Anne Mo, how old do you think I am?"

Anne was intimidated by his angry look. She said gingerly, "Well, you are more than ten years older than me."

George was even more furious. He pressed his lips against her face, gritted his teeth, and said, "You're twenty-four, and I'm thirty-three. How can I be more than ten years older than you? Do you even know how to count? Was your Math subject at school taught by a PE teacher?"

Anne's eyes widened. She was about to argue, but George kissed her passionately.

"Hmm..." Anne protested by waving her hands and feet fiercely. George whispered in her ear, "I'll let you see if my physical strength can compete with the laws of nature."

How imposing George was! Well, he was the CEO of C Group and a man of his word. So Anne would undoubtedly suffer a tragic end.

She had to pay a high price for her impulsivity.

She couldn't help but feel regretful. She thought, 'Humph! They say that one should not yield in the face of power. It's a lie!' It turned out that when the opponent was really powerful, one had to yield.

The next day, Anne had dark circles under her eyes. She only got up from the bed when the alarm clock rang for the last time. After washing her face and rinsing her mouth, she dressed up for work in a daze.

Only women could deeply understand the pain of sleep deprivation. No matter how many essence lotions she tried to use, it couldn't cover the dark circles under her eyes.

Anne felt more disheartened when she saw George having breakfast in high spirits.

She felt so wronged. 'Damn it! He was the one who exerted so much strength. But why was it me who suffered?'

Chapter 2 Her Parents Are Dead

"Come. Have breakfast," George said as he pushed the plate of omelet, bottle of milk, and a bowl of vegetable salad towards her. The tone of his voice and his facial expression were both calm.

Anne yawned and said in low spirits, "No, thanks. I don't want to eat breakfast. I'll just go to the car and sleep while I wait for you."

She had to catch up on some sleep. Otherwise, she wouldn't have enough energy to cope with today's work.

When they have arrived at the place where Anne would normally get off, she was still sleeping soundly. George had to wake her up.

Anne was still in a daze when she unfastened her seat belt. She was about to get out of the car when George grabbed her wrist and handed her a packed breakfast. He said in a calm voice, "Come with me to a party tonight."

"No, no." She took the breakfast from him and shook her head vigorously. "You promoted me to the PR manager's assistant, and I've heard so many gossips about me. If I go to a party with you, I'm afraid that they'll make nasty remarks about me." Anne then opened the door, got out of the car, and slowly walked towards the company.

George watched her back for a few seconds. Then he started the car and drove to the parking lot of the company.

As soon as she entered the company, Anne went to the pantry to have some breakfast. She then went to the restroom to rinse her mouth. The restroom was always the perfect place to hear the latest gossips.

"Oh, you know what? I saw Anne, our manager's assistant, get out of a luxury car this morning."

Anne was shocked by what she heard. She couldn't help thinking inwardly, 'Damn it! I got out of the car so far away from the company. She still saw me? How amazing her eyesight is!' Fortunately, George drove a different car today. If he happened to drive the car that he usually did, this female employee would have had recognized it.

"What's so strange about her getting out of a luxury car? After all, she was also promoted for no reason. She has a strong background."

"What strong background? One of our colleagues in the HR department said that her parents are dead."

"Even though her parents are dead, she has a sugar daddy."

"Ha-ha! You're right."

Anne silently balled up her slender fingers into fists while listening to their conversation. She was so enraged. After a long while, she then loosened them.

She comforted herself, 'Forget it. The less trouble, the better.' Actually, her marriage with George was no different from what they described.

Anne took a few deep breaths to calm herself down. She held back her anger and went back to her desk to work.

"Anne, Mr. Liang will speak on behalf of many entrepreneurs in the city at the charity gala tonight. Prepare the draft of his speech in advance," ordered Liza Zhao, the PR manager, in a cold voice.

"It's ready, Liza," Anne replied with her head down.

Before Liza could turn around, the CEO's secretary came and said, "Liza, Mr. Liang wants to see Anne in his office."

Anne felt a little uneasy under Liza's scrutiny. But she still stood up and followed the secretary.

When they arrived in front of the CEO's office, the secretary knocked on the door. When they heard George's cold voice from the inside telling them to come in, the secretary motioned for Anne to open the door. Anne was trembling, but she didn't dare to show it. Instead, she put on an indifferent look and gently pushed the door open.

"Mr. Liang, what can I do for you?" Anne asked with her head down while taking a few steps forward.

George raised his head and glanced at her slightly. He then said in an indifferent tone, "Close the door."

Anne had a bad feeling. She looked up vigilantly and asked in a low voice, "What do you want?"

With a serious look, George looked at the document in his hand and said in a cold voice, "I told you to close the door. Just do it."

Anne didn't know how to retort. She thought, 'I'm just worried about my safety. Is there anything wrong with that?'

But of course, she didn't dare resist. She reluctantly closed the door and looked at George with trepidation. She then said cautiously, "Well, Mr. Liang, according to science, having sex too frequently can damage fertility. As an educated man, you also know that, right?"

George shifted his gaze from the document to her pale face. Obviously, she looked nervous. With a serious expression, he said in a low voice, "Really? But like you've said earlier, I'm an old man. If I don't work hard to have a baby, I'll be more anxious. Don't you think so? Men, in general, are all like this. You are also an educated woman, so you should understand it."

Anne didn't know what to say, so she could only curse in her head, 'Fuck!' Deep inside her, she was so mad. But she couldn't show it to him.

"Mr. Liang, you're not old at all. In fact, you are in your prime. You are strong and fertile," she said with a flattering smile. But clearly, she didn't mean her words.

George pressed his lips tightly to hold back his laughter. He glanced at her and said unhurriedly, "Really? But I'm more than ten years older than you. That makes me worry."

Anne really wanted to cut him in half and tear him into pieces.

She clenched her teeth and said with a sad face, "No, Mr. Liang. You're only nine years older than me. Just nine years. I'm not good at Math. Please don't take it to heart."

'Oh, my God! Are you still the dignified CEO of C Group? How can you be so mean?'

George played with the pen in his hand gracefully and looked up at Anne's regretful face. He then said meaningfully, "Really? Since I'm nine years older than you, it seems that I really have to hurry and become a father as soon as possible. Otherwise, when we have a child, people will congratulate you for being a mother at such a young age, but congratulate me for being a father at such an old age. Don't you think it's a little embarrassing?"

Anne was rendered speechless.

Her face flushed with rage. But after a while, all she could say was, "It's still during working hours. Don't mess around!"

Seeing that she was so anxious now, George took out a ledger from the drawer of his desk, threw it to her, and said indifferently, "Check that for me."

Anne opened the ledger, and her face darkened at once. She felt like she was starting to have a headache. "Mr. Liang, I'm from the PR department. Don't you think this job is for the finance department?"

"This is a secret account, and I won't feel at ease having someone else see it. No one can check it except you. "This is a secret account, and I won't feel at ease having someone else see it. No one is allowed to see what's inside except you.

Anne lost her tongue for the umpteen time.

Left with no choice, she walked into George's lounge with the ledger that was as thick as an encyclopedia in her hands and sat on the sofa. She was about to start checking the accounts for this month when she noticed that the numbers were so dense. Since she hadn't gotten enough sleep last night, she eventually dozed off before she could even start her task.

George was very busy and working seriously outside. But fifteen minutes later, he raised his hand and looked at his watch.

He stood up from his chair and walked towards the lounge. As soon as he opened the door, he saw Anne sleeping on the sofa. He had already expected it.

A smile appeared on his calm and indifferent face. He walked over to her, gently carried her to the bed, and covered her with a thin quilt.

Anne was finally awakened by the ringing of her phone. It was Liza calling.

"Anne, where is the draft of the speech you've prepared? Bring it to J Grand Hotel now!"

After saying yes and hanging up, Anne checked the time on her watch. 'Oh my, God! It's already half past six in the evening. I slept that long?'

She tidied up her hair and ran out of the lounge at full speed. The big office was empty. George wasn't in there anymore.

'That man has gone too far! Why didn't he wake me up before getting off work?'

Chapter 3 What's Your Relationship With Mr. Liang

"I asked you to bring the draft of Mr. Liang's speech here. What took you so long? Are you a snail or something?" A sharp voice sounded at the entrance of the hotel where people came and went.

J Grand Hotel was the best hotel in A City. And the charity gala that was organized by the mayor was in full swing.

"I'm sorry, Liza. I got stuck in the traffic jam," Anne apologized while wiping the sweat on her forehead.

"Traffic jam? That's not an excuse for your poor performance," Liza sneered. She snorted and looked at Anne with disdain. 'She is good for nothing.'

"I'm so sorry. I promise that this won't happen again." Anne looked so calm. She seemed not to care about the gazes of the passersby.

Liza wanted to scold her more, but a Maybach pulled over in front of them, and the door opened. A handsome and cold man got out of the car. He had straight and long legs and delicate features.

He glanced at Anne, who was standing there with her head down, and asked coldly, "What's wrong?"

Liza's expression softened, and she said in a low voice, "It's nothing, Mr. Liang. It's just that Anne was so negligent that she forgot to give me the draft of the speech you need later. And she was almost late."

Anne remained silent but sneered in her heart, 'Humph! This is his fault. He didn't wake me up this afternoon.'

After a while, she said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Liang." Although Anne was unwilling, she had to bite the bullet and apologize to George under Liza's stern gaze.

"Mr. Liang doesn't have time to care about people like you. Just do your job and be smarter next time," Liza chimed in. She then gave Ann a warning glance, looked at her watch, and added, "The opening ceremony will begin in five minutes. Let's go in, Mr. Liang."

However, George didn't move.

His eyes were fixed on Anne's cold face. He then asked in a low voice, "What's wrong? Is our company treating you poorly?"

The hotness of his gaze made Anne feel uncomfortable. She raised her head and answered, "No, no."

George's eyes darkened. With a hint of dissatisfaction, his voice slightly raised when he said, "Then why do you dress like that? Even I feel ashamed."

Anne looked down at her floral dress, wondering what was wrong with it. She was just an assistant with a monthly salary of six thousand dollars. What kind of clothes did he want her to wear? She wanted to say, 'It's none of your business.'

However, she didn't want to stir up trouble. As long as he didn't push her too hard, she wouldn't fight back. She looked at George and answered, "Got it, Mr. Liang."

But George wasn't done yet. He stepped forward and approached Anne. The noble and cold aura surrounding him forced her to step back involuntarily.

"Since you know, why don't you go and get changed?" he demanded.

"What? But where am I going to change?" Anne raised her head again and looked at George in a daze.

"Liza, take her to a shop nearby to change her clothes," George turned to Liza and ordered coldly.

"But Mr. Liang, the party is about to begin," Liza reminded George. She looked at Anne suspiciously and then at him cautiously.

George lowered his head and checked the time on his watch. "I'll go in first." After saying that, he turned around and walked towards the hall alone.

"What are you standing there for? Go and get changed!" Liza shouted at Anne while adjusting the frame of her eyeglasses on the bridge of her nose. Her fat face looked so fierce.

Anne didn't want to talk to an old woman who had a bad temper, so she just followed Liza silently.

Liza's attitude was stinky and fierce, but she had a good fashion sense. She randomly picked three dresses for Anne to try on. Anne seemed to have changed into a different person in an instant. She was so beautiful.

"We'll get this one. Don't take it off. Miss, please remove the tag," Liza ordered the saleslady with a straight face.

"Okay. This one costs seven thousand six hundred dollars after the discount," the saleslady said to Liza with a smile.

Liza turned to look at Anne, who was now wearing a blue dress, and said coldly, "Why are you still standing there for? Pay the bill."

Anne was utterly shocked. 'My God! Seven thousand six hundred dollars?' she exclaimed in her mind. Even her one month salary plus bonus was not enough to pay for it.

"This is too expensive. Can we look for something cheaper?" Anne gave Liza a sad look. She felt sorry for her purse.

"You're already wearing it, and the tag has been removed. How can we not buy this? Be quick! Mr. Liang is waiting for us," Liza snapped impatiently. She then turned around and walked out of the shop.

Anne was left alone with the saleslady, feeling aggrieved. 'Damn it!' she cursed inwardly. She had no other choice but to pay the bill sadly and followed Liza outside.

When they entered the hall, the mayor was already giving his speech on the stage. The audience was applauding loudly, and no one noticed them.

Anne followed Liza to the seat next to George. He looked at her, and his eyes stopped at her slightly low-cut neckline. He then said in a low voice, "Sit next to me."

Liza, who was about to sit next to George, felt embarrassed. She looked daggers at Anne.

With a stiff face, Anne felt so uneasy. It was like she was sitting on pins and needles. She couldn't hear what the mayor was saying on the stage anymore.

George was the representative of the businessmen. So after the mayor was done, he went up the stage to give his speech as well. While watching him, Anne breathed a sigh of relief.

"When did you hook up with Mr. Liang?" Liza asked in a low voice, looking suspicious.

Anne's body stiffened for a moment, and her face turned pale. She stammered, "What? Liza, what did you just say?"

Liza glanced at her disgustingly. "I'm asking you, what is your relationship with Mr. Liang?"

Anne shook her head and answered frankly, "Nothing. I don't have any relationship with him."

Liza was about to say something more. But when she saw that George was about to step down from the stage, she glanced at Anne in disbelief and didn't say anything more.

Anne really didn't want to sit next to George. The feeling of being stared at by him scared her so much that she grabbed her handbag before he could go back to his seat. She then said to Liza, "I'll just go to the restroom. Please call me if you need anything."

Anne somehow felt relieved when she entered the restroom. She was washing her face when she heard a gentle and soft voice from behind.

"Hello! Are you from C Group?"

Anne pulled out some pieces of tissue from the dispenser on the wall and wiped her face. When she turned around, she saw a beautiful woman with elegant makeup and a gentle smile standing behind her.

"Yes. What's up?" Anne's attitude was a little alienated, and her tone was cold.

"Well, here is the thing. Do you know George Liang, the CEO of your company?" Queenie Liu was shy as she asked the question.
