CEO's Only Woman

It was a normal day and Blaire was peacefully sleeping in her small apartment when she heard a loud knock somewhere. She slowly opened her eyes and that's when she noticed that the loud knock was coming from her door.

She lazily stood up and fixed herself quickly before opening the door. It turns out that the one who's knocking was her landlady.

Oh my god! She must be here to asked for the rent payment but I don't have enough money yet, Blaire thought.

"You must be aware why I am here. You told me last week that you'll be paying today." The landlady spoke up straightforwardly.

Blaire just bit her lip in frustration, she indeed said that she'll be paying today but she still doesn't have enough money.

I just hope she will accept my money even if it's just a half payment.

"Mrs. Garcia, you see I still don't have enough money to pay you but I have some money here, can I pay half of the payment then when I already have money that's when I'll be paying the partial amount." Blaire pleaded.

Mrs. Garcia looked at her and sighed. She felt pity for Blaire because she knew that she's an orphan and she doesn't have someone to rely but herself. She didn't want to make things more difficult for her so she just nodded.

Blaire felt relieved. She immediately took her money and gave it to Mrs. Garcia.

"Thank you so much, Mrs. Garcia. I swear I'll pay the left amount once I find a new job." Blaire said sincerely.

Mrs. Garcia just smiled to her and made her way back to their house.

Blaire went back to her bed and was lost in her thoughts. Today she plan to roam around the city to find a new job that's suitable for her. She looked at the time and saw that it's already 10 A:M in the morning.

She began to prepare herself to go out. After an hour, she is already prepared to leave.

She wore simple black dress and a white sneaker shoes. Blaire is a woman who is good at fashion and even though she lacks money, you won't know about it. She always slay everything that she wears.

Blaire remember, you must find a job today no matter what happened. You have so many expenses and clearly you need money. Blaire told to herself.

She walked forward and every time she sees a restaurant, a boutique, and some shops, she asks them if they are in need of a worker. Blaire has been walking for almost 2 hours but couldn't anything.

Grace decided to rest so she went to a near park to give herself a break. She bought a water and a biscuits for her snacks. While she was eating, her phone starts to ring.

It was her friend, Amari.

"[Hey, what's up?]"

"[Blaire, where are you? Did you already found a new job?]" Amari asked gently.

Blaire sighed helplessly before answering. "[I haven't. I found some hiring shops but they have the same reason for not accepting me as their worker.]"

"[Oh, really? What reason?]" Amari asked curiously. Why won't they hire her? Blaire clearly is a hardworking woman. They are wasting such a good worker, Amari thought.

"They said I'm not qualified because I looked like a person who haven't done hard things and a person who didn't experienced any hardships! Amari, can you believe that!? They judged me without giving me a chance to prove myself!" Blaire ranted. She didn't even know whether she would laugh or cry.

Amari on the other hand had the same thoughts with her. Right now, the only thing Amari could do to her dearest friend is to comfort her. "All right, don't mind them. You'll eventually find a job sooner or later. I'll help you!"

Blaire smiled genuinely. Good thing she had Amari on her side.

The next day, Blaire woke up early to prepare to go to school.

After she's done doing the things she needed to do, she sat down for minutes in her bed to look in the internet if ever someone had posted notice of hiring.

But to her disappointment there's none.

When she arrived at their university, she immediately saw Amari sitting at the corner of their school garden. Amari was busy reading something so she didn't noticed that Blaire is approaching.

"What are you reading?" Asked Blaire when she's already beside Amari.

Amari put down her phone and looked at Blaire. "Oh, you're here. I was just reading some school forums."

Blaire nodded and sighed helplessly. She couldn't help but to worry for herself. What would happen to me if I couldn't find any job this week? Maybe I should prepare myself to sleep in the street on the following days.

Why isn't even hard to find work this days?

If not because of her scholarship, she won't even be able to study. Thanks to her high intelligence.

Amari looked at her friend who has a problematic look. "Blaire, give it a break. You'll really be stress if you keep on thinking about it. I trust you, you'll get through it. You have me and Daniel."

Blaire smiled and hugged Amira tightly. Amari just laugh and trying to push Blaire away.

"Hey! hey! Get away from me! Do you want me to die?" Amira shouted and both of them just laugh at each other.

"Speaking of which? Where's Daniel?" Blaire asked.

After Blaire asked that, both of them looked at the man who's approaching them.

"What's up?" Daniel said as he sit with the two woman.

"Nothing much, just usual." Amira answered.

The group of three chatted for a while before going to their own class.

Blaire's course is Business Administration while the other two is Architectural. The three of them first met when they were still a freshmen. They became bestfriends because they introvert causing them to vibes to each other.

While Amira and Daniel are on the way to their class, Amira noticed that Daniel was a bit dejected.

Amari furrowed her brows and asked. "What's wrong? Do you have a problem too?"

"Actually yes, I have. My brother threatened me to cut all of my allowance if my grades won't improve. You know, I'm not as intelligent as you guys are. Sooner or later, I might kiss my allowance goodbye."

Daniel looked at Amari when he heard her laugh. Has this woman gone mad?

"That's your only problem? That's easy, why don't you try to study hard or get a tutor." Amari said and smiled.

That's it!

"Tutor?" Daniel asked confusedly.

Amari smiled. Now she found a way to help Blaire!

"That's right! Why don't you asked Blaire to be your tutor? It's a win-win situation, you can help her gain money and she can help you improve your grades. What do you think?"

Daniel thought that it was really a nice offer. This way both of them will be benefitted.

"Alright, I'll discuss this matter with my brother. I just hope he will agree that way I'll be able to help Blaire." Amari nodded.

While everyone was on their respective class, the director of their university suddenly went their to visit.

"Good morning, Sir Adizer. We didn't expect your sudden visit." The Head Master greeted Dylan.

"Yes, I am here to observe the school and to check my brother. I'll just go around the school, no need to bother me." Dylan said coldly and left them.

Dylan's tour when smoothly and he's satisfied on everything that he has seen. The university has improved big time, it's more beautiful and comfortable.

Dylan stopped on his tracks when he saw a lady who's reciting her answer. His eyes was locked on her as if she's the only one he can see. He came back to reality when his assistant called him and told him that he needs to go back to their company.

Dylan took a one last glance at the lady before he decided to leave.

After class, Daniel left the school and went to his brother's company to discuss about the tutor thing. Amari on the other hand went to where Blaire is.

"Miss Ruiz, can I have a moment with you?" Blaire's professor called out.

"Yes, Ma'am Bernardo. What is it?" Blaire said respectfully.

Mrs. Bernardo looked at her and smiled. "Since this is your last semester, you are one of the candidates for summa cum laude. I'm so proud of you, if your parents were still alive they might also say the same."

"Thank you very much, ma'am. It's just a shame that they passed away early." Blaire said and smiled faintly.

There are times when Blaire blames her parents because of the things she's going through. If her parents were still alive she wouldn't probably experienced to be bullied for being an orphan, she doesn't need to problem on how would she earn money, and most importantly she wouldn't need to begged people to accept her.

It's not her parents fault for being dead but it's just that she couldn't help but blame them for leaving her.

She had suffered so much so she's really dreaming a good life in the future.

"I know you had through so many things in your life and right now you're still trying to survive. If ever you need something don't hesitate to come to me, alright?" Mrs. Bernardo said and gently held Blaire's hand.

Blaire felt thankful. She doesn't only have Amira and Daniel but Mrs. Bernardo too.

"I will, ma'am."

Blaire left her classroom and went downstairs, that's when she saw Amari approaching her. She smiled and run towards Amari.

"You're alone? What about Daniel? I thought we're going to accompany you to your dad's house." Blaire said continuously.

Amari chuckled and said. "Daniel has a sudden appointment and we won't go to my dad's house for now. We have a new destination."

"What? Where?" Blaire asked confusedly.

"Alright, no more questions. Let's go!" Amari said and held Blaire's hand.

Blaire doesn't know where they are going but she still followed Amira. She doesn't have anything to go so might as well go with Amari, she thought.

"Tada! Here come and let's enjoy!" Amari said. She wanted to cheer Blaire up so she thought of bringing her to an arcade to play and forget of their problems even for a while.

"Arcade? Really?" Blaire mocked her.

Amari just rolled her eyes and spoke up. "Don't be a kill joy, come on! It's my treat!"

The two lady started playing games and the two of them enjoyed it to the fullest. Blaire's heart was filled with happiness and Amari's successful in making Blaire forget her problems for a while.

While playing there they were able to meet new people and friends. They feel like they are back on being a carefree teenagers though Blaire wasn't able to experience this when she was teenager for she is busy in making money to survive.

When both of them felt tired, they decided to stop and to go to a snack bar to eat. Of course they ordered the same snacks -French fries and sundae- they are not bestfriends for nothing after all.

While they are eating, Amari's phone started to ring.

Amari answered it and Blaire doesn't intend to eavesdrop so she just focused on eating.

Blaire's brows furrowed when she noticed that Amari is about to cry while she was talking. She couldn't help but worry to her. She waited until the phone call ended.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Blaire asked carefully and with concern.

Amari began to cry so Blaire didn't hesitate to hug and comfort her.

"Blaire... I... I am not allowed to v-visit d-dad for a while. His real family came back..." Amari continued in sobbing and Blaire was just comforting and listening to her.

Amari couldn't help but to feel sorry for herself.
