DEBBIE'S APARTMENT

Whimpering sound of a lady in a small room could be heard with the lights off, sobbing increasing at each minute. Still in her sleep "Ahhh!" Debbie screams jolting out of her dream,beads of sweat on her forehead.

She sat up immediately on her bed using both hands to cover her face"i can't live like this" she said amidst her tears. Her junior sister barges into the room upon hearing her scream "sis what's wrong are you okay?"kate asked worriedly.

"It's 3am for fûck sake how can I be okay,when I keep getting this nightmares"she croaked. "It's going to be fine sis" kate cooed and sat on the bed giving her a hug and rubbing her back. After a while they both fell asleep in each others arms till the break of dawn.

"Kate!! Come down for breakfast" Debbie calls out to her sister. "just a minute sis" she answered, Kate walks to the dinner and drops her books on the table, debbie groans "c'mon I called you here to eat not to read books,you can do this later" she whined. Kate chuckles "I wasn't planning on reading em now and I just checked my email I got a scholarship into PRIMEVILLE COLLEGE"she squealed.

"Omg!! that's great news am so proud of you Kat" Debbie answered happily "come on let's eat before the food gets cold" she added. Kate looked at her sister with a warm smile and sighed she knew it wouldn't have been easy to get money for her fees into the college and it's her first year.

So she applied for a scholarship and lucky she got in,she doesn't wanna burden her sis. She's already been through a lot."Sis how do you feel" Kate asked. Debbie looks up from her meal and gave a short smile "I'm thrilled never doubted your-"

"Am not talking about that,I meant about your nightmares" she cuts in. Debbie smile drops and she sighs "Same old thing they always appear blur and i don't even know what they mean, or what to do. it's been eight years now kat, the same period mom and dad died" Debbie answered sadly.

Kate stretched out her hand to hold her sister's hand giving it a comforting squeeze "be optimistic big sis, everything would be fine" she reassured. Debbie gave her a short smile while nodding her head "Yeah, now come on Zara would be here any moment we need to get to the store"she replied.

Almost immediately they heard the sound of the front door opening and closing with preceding footsteps. " wow just great and here you guys are, relaxed and eating while I ran my ass down here thinking am late"Zara voiced out.

Both girls chuckled at Zara complains."Relax zar,sit and have breakfast with us" Debbie said. Zara rolled her eyes and scoffed "Well I can't say no to food" she replied and sat down to eat. "This taste so good" Zara said with her mouth full with the bacon and eggs.

Kate chuckles, "We need to leave I have got paintings to sell guys" Debbie said and grabs her bag they followed and walked out of the house locking the door behind them.

Boarded a cab that would take them downtown, cab driver dropped them off and took his cash. "Kate could you open the store for me please" Debbie said. Kate took the keys "sure no problem"she responded.

Debbie got a rental that she could use to keep and sell her paintings, that's the only thing she depends on to cater for her and her junior sis needs.

"So debs I wanna audition as a model for AJ STYLES company do you think I would get in?" Zara asked. "AJ STYLES? Haven't heard of that" Debbie shrugged. Zara looked at her with wide eyes "WHATT! that's like the biggest clothing and jewelry company, and it's owned by the Jefferson well the youngest billionaire in the country"Zara said dreamily.

Debbie rolls her eyes " so you wanna work there because of him?"she smirked. "what no way,you know I have always wanted to be a model" Zara replied. " Aren't you guys coming in?" Kate cut in on their Convo.

"We are coming"They answered simultaneously, "Anyway you need to see his pictures,you are gonna fall hard! girl" Zara said. Kate chuckles "I don't think sis is ever gonna fall for any guy,she doesn't even have a male friend" Kate said and debbie kicks her butt "what do you mean by that?huh" Debbie asked giving her a glare.

"Ouch sis that hurts but you know that I didn't lie" Kate whined touching her ass. Zara laughs " I just dropped my resume and few of my shoots on their website I hope I get in" Zara said with her fingers crossed. Something she does when she's been optimistic.

"Don't worry Zar u will get in" Debbie said with a small smile. Zara has been best friends with Debbie since they were teens, always seen together and she knows about Debbie's episodes.

"Thanks b" Zara replied. "I need to read my books now and you guys are distracting me with your talks" Kate said fixing my eyeglasses properly and sitting down by a corner. Both girls rolled their eyes.

"Wow you are taking this scholarship serious, congratulations on getting it" Zara chuckled and turned to Debbie "I am sleeping over at your place tonight" she added. "Do you seriously have to ask"debbie said with a bored look.

"Good day I would like to buy a painting" A lady walked into the store. Debbie's eyes lit up "Sure come with me" Debbie led the way. "We should get pizza on our way back home" Zara told the focused Kate and she only gave a thumps up, making Zara to shake her head.

TORONTO,CANADA

A tall imposing figure could be seen under the shower,a knock on the door brings him out of his thoughts. "Who's there?" his baritone voice asked. "Sir it's me jace" Jace voice came uneasy, "I got a call for you" he added.

"Kay I will be out soon" he replied. He takes a towel and wraps it around his torso, coming out of the bathroom Jace hands the phone to him,without looking at the caller id puts the phone close to his ears.

"Hello" he said. "My boy" he heard the slow cries of his mother,he creased his brows before he could say anything.his phone fell receiving a shocking news.

"Alex my boy, your father is dead"she cried profusely "he took his last breath early hours of the day" she said. Alex's phone falls from his hand shakingly and he staggered back, holding unto his throbbing head.

"Gawd! why?why now" he groaned painfully and sat on the bed "Jace get me my drugs!" he roared already getting agitated but it was too late as he began scattering the entire room speaking incoherent words, slowly loosing his mind.

Jace rushes back to see alex in this state,gets his injection and inject the fluid into his body quickly before he gets worse. Alex calms down after a while " I didn't do it,I didn't kill them" he said repeatedly in tears and falls asleep.

Jace sighs, "I hope you get better soon bro,I can't bare to see you in so much pain"he said sadly. He helps Alex to lie properly on the bed and leaves the room.

After a while Alex woke up and called for him. Jace walks into the room "Dad is dead,we have to go back to LA for the funeral and maybe stay back this time" he sighs heavily.

Jace understood and did not decline, they have been in Toronto for 5years now, they only go to los Angeles for important meetings because of his business there. "Alright then I will speak with the pilot to know when we would be able to leave" Jace replied professionally, And turned to leave.

"Jace did I hurt you?" Alex asked softly. "Hearing father's death I felt all that pain rushing in again,those couples that died because of me" His voice came out croaked putting his hands in his black hair.

"No you didn't am fine, you don't have to get worked up you weren't in your right senses at that time and we know that, what happened years ago wasn't your fault" Jace reassured patting his back.

"Now just relax man,I will get someone to bring your dinner" he said and left the room. Alex sighed and sat on one of the sofa,he couldn't have asked for a better friend and brother like Jace, he has been with him since their childhood, faced every obstacles together more reason why he made him his personal assistant.

Alex had his dinner and thought about how life was going to be, staying in los Angeles, where all his problems began.

Debbie's Apartment

"Jeez am so tired,today was so busy and we made a lot of sales today" Debbie grinned. She turned to Kate " you are gonna make dinner kate, you just sat down all day reading your books" she said looking irritated."

"C'mon sis am also tired and I sold some paintings you know" Kate pouted with her arms folded. "Good thing I got pizza on our way here" Zara interjected munching on a slice.

"I'm gonna take my bath first" debbie said and runs into her room. Kate said the same thing and left, both came back after awhile and sat down to eat the pizza with a glass of yogurt.

"Aren't you modeling? you are gonna get fat you know" Kate said to Zara. Debbie looks at them and gave out a short laugh. "You don't have to worry I will exercise and lose those excess fat" Zara replied going through her phone and she screams.

Debbie and Kate looked at her with questioning looks " Mr Jefferson is dead, it's all over the internet I can't believe this, I heard rumours about him having brain cancer" Zara said with wide eyes shaking her head.

"Mr Jefferson? Alexander Jefferson's dad?" Kate asked checking her phone and truly the news was flying fast "that is my all time favourite celebrity,I could only imagine how he would be feeling right now" she added feeling sad.

Confused Debbie could only stare at them and glanced at the pictures. "Come on guys don't get sad,I guess it was just his time"she mutters and they sighed " Let's go watch a movie before going to bed"she said and they moved to the sitting room.

Debbie turns on the TV and they watched a comedy show and everywhere turned lively. After an hour they left to their rooms, Zara sleeps in Debbie's room whenever she comes for a sleepover. "Debs you are going to be okay, it just few hours till dawn" Debbie talks to herself.

Zara lays on the bed looking at the nervous Debbie who just stands by the corner " hey b,u are thinking too much u haven't had an episode for awhile now, just the nightmares and am here so you will be fine okay" Zara said.

Debbie sighs heavily "okay let's just sleep"and she gets on the bed with the blanket on her body.

In the middle of the night, Zara wakes up to the vibration of the bed,looking to her side sees Debbie shaking vigorously beads of sweat on her forehead "debbie!! wake up,can you hear me" zara screams.

But there was no answer, suddenly Debbie stops shaking "Debs please wake up,am scared" Zara said tearfully and she touches her but she wasn't moving nor breathing.

Kate barges into the room "what happened?" she asked. "I don't know Debbie isn't moving" Zara said

"What!!!."

"What!!!" Kate moves closer to Debbie's body, putting her fingers on her nostrils "she isn't breathing,we should take her to the hospital" Kate panicked.

They took her out of the house and boarded a taxi, getting to the hospital some nurses came with a stretcher and they placed her on it "please sis don't die on me, you are the only one I got apart from Dante."Kate whimpers

They took Debbie to the E.R, while Kate and Zara stayed outside pacing to and fro. The doctor was called in and after a while he came out. " ma'am is my sister okay?" Kate spoke up.

"Please you both should come to my office" Doctor Susan said and left for her office with Kate and Zara following suit. They got in and the doctor ushered them to sit.

"Your sister, she is out of danger you were lucky to have gotten her here on time, she had an episode but this seems worse what happened?" Doctor Susan asked facing the girls.

"I don't know doctor,I just woke up to see her shaking on the bed" Zara sniffed. "If you can remember something similar occurred during the time her parents died, did she receive any news of someone's death?"doctor Susan asked.

Then Zara and Kate eyes widened at the realization that they had shown Debbie a picture of Mr Jefferson death. "Yes doctor someone died yesterday but not a relative of some sort"kate replied.

"Okay, it advisable you keep her from such news as it triggers her. As it is she still can't remember what happened to her years ago.What about her paintings? Does she still draw?" The doctor further asked. "Yes she does" Kate answered.

That's the only thing that keeps her mind balanced and at peace, she's fine now you can take her home" doctor Susan smiled warmly. "Alright doctor thank you" both girls said and left the office.

Kate and Zara got to Debbie ward, going in to see that she was awake."what happened? Why am I in the hospital?" Debbie asked softly and they ran to hug her. "Geez take it easy,you guys wanna take the last strength I have got" she joked. And they let go of her.

"You scared us to death Debs" Zara sighed. "But am fiine now,am sorry" Debbie pouted and got up "now can we please leave,this place stinks alot" she covered her nose. They chuckled,all three left the hospital but Zara had to go back to her house.

Kate and Debbie got home, "Kate can you please prepare something that we could eat,am starving" Debbie said crashing on the chair. "Alright" Kate said simply.

Breakfast seemed awkwardly silent till " sis don't you think it's high time we reach out to Dante?" Kate asked. "we haven't heard from him since we started doing things on our own" she added.

Debbie sighs " he drifted from us Kate he doesn't want anything to do with us, Zara mentioned something about him working for the Tyson clothing company" Debbie answered.

"I know but he is still our elder brother, can't we go see him?" Kate asked. "Alright I will think about it" Debbie replied and Kate was excited. "Sis a fresh semester is about to begin in my school,I would resume classes next week"

" Awwn my baby is now an adult, so u won't be with me all day anymore" Debbie pouted

C'mon sis am not leaving the house, I would only be out for few hours for lectures and we could spend the evening chatting" Kate chuckles

"Doesn't matter anyway,am off to my room to paint"Debbie's emerald eyes glistens and she enters her room without waiting for a reply.

TORONTO, CANADA

Alex seems busy on his phone when Jace walks in."Boss I just spoke to the pilot,he said we could leave for los Angeles this evening" Jace said and Alex looks up. "Jace you don't have to be formal with me,I have told you that countless times we aren't in the office" Alex said tiredly.

Jace chuckles "Alright alex,so you should get ready and I would get your drugs we need that on the jet and when we get home we don't want any outsider finding out you are a psychotic patient" Jace said.

"And you have a lot of rivals in the fashion world,they could use that to their advantage" he added. Alex just sat down with utmost composure "I know that you don't have to say it,they wouldn't dare go against me, everyone is threatened by the power I hold" Alex black orbs darkened and he stood

"Get some cleaners to the penthouse, I would be staying there and I don't need crowd we would go see my mom and siblings before the week ends" Alex added shifting his gaze to the window and Jace nodded and left the room.

Alex got ready taking all of his important documents into his suitcase and left the room, he's been staying in one of his many islands in Toronto. Stepping outside the compound to meet Jace standing by the car,they got in and left to the airport.

"This is going to be a long flight,did you get my drugs?"Alex asked Jace as they settled in. "Yup and the penthouse is ready" Jace replied.The jet took off and landed in one of the airport in los Angeles L.A.

LOS ANGELES USA

Alex alighted the jet taking in a deep breath putting on a black shades,black buttoned up sleeve shirt and black pant looking sinfully hot!. A black SUV was already parked outside waiting for them.

"Welcome back boss" the driver said opening the door and Alex got in with Jace. "So I got some models who applied to work with us, should they come over for the interview tomorrow?" Jace asked. "Yeah sure,I trust your judgement on that" Alex simply said going through his phone.

A frown appeared on Alex face " what the fuck!" he growled.
