Chapter 1: The Secret
Lexi Thompson's eyes scanned the dimly lit alley, her heart racing with anticipation. She had been investigating the notorious drug lord, Ethan Blackwood, for months, and finally, she had received a tip about a secret meeting. Lexi's determination to expose the truth had driven her to take risks, but she never expected to stumble upon something that would change everything.
Ethan was prepared for the meeting with his long-lost friend Damon, who was threatening to spill out his secret to his enemies. But before we dive deep into the meeting, what could be the secret?
Ethan's organization had been involved in a lucrative deal with the president's sister, who had been secretly embezzling funds from the government. However, when she tried to double-cross Ethan, he was forced to take drastic measures to protect himself and his empire. In a fit of rage, Ethan ordered her murder, which was carried out by his loyal henchmen.
Damon's arrival was announced by the sound of screeching tires and the revving of a luxurious car engine. Ethan's men nodded respectfully as Damon stepped out of the vehicle, his tall, lean frame radiating an air of confidence. Ethan watched from the shadows, his eyes narrowing as Damon approached.
"You're as predictable as ever, Ethan," Damon said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Threats and intimidation may work on your loyal followers, but I'm not one of them. I have insurance, Ethan. And with what I know, you'll do exactly as I say."
Damon paused, letting his words sink in before continuing. "You see, I've been watching you, Ethan. I know all about your little secret, and I have proof. So, here's the deal: you'll give me a 20% share of your empire, and I'll keep your secret safe. Refuse, and... well, let's just say you won't be the only one who'll be sleeping with the fishes."
Ethan laughed evilly despite what Damon said. He then asked him, "Do you think I can fear you? Go ahead, tell anyone, but before you can do that, I will kill you and your entire family."
Damon's eyes narrowed, his expression unyielding. "5%?" he repeated, his voice laced with disdain. "You think I'm some kind of fool, Ethan? I know what I have, and I know what it's worth. 20% is the lowest I'll go, and even that's being generous. You're not in a position to negotiate, Ethan. You're in a position to accept my terms, or face the consequences."
Ethan raised it to ten percent as his final offer.
Damon's expression didn't change, but Ethan could sense a flicker of interest behind his eyes. "Ten percent," Damon repeated, his voice neutral. "That's still not enough, Ethan. But I'll tell you what - I'll accept your offer, not because I'm satisfied with the percentage, but because I have a feeling that you're going to be very... accommodating in other ways." Damon's smile was thin and menacing, sending a shiver down Ethan's spine.
As they shook hands, Ethan's eyes locked onto Damon's, a silent understanding passing between them. But, just as he was about to release Damon's hand, his gaze flickered to the side, his eyes narrowing as he spotted Lexi. She was standing in the shadows, her phone held discreetly in her hand, a look of intense focus on her face. Ethan's heart sank as he realized she must have been recording their conversation. He felt a surge of anger and panic, knowing that Lexi now possessed information that could destroy him.
Ethan ordered his men to bring her over immediately, but before they could catch her, she had already escaped. That scared Ethan a lot.
Ethan's face turned red with rage as he watched Lexi disappear into the crowd. He barked orders at his men, demanding that they find her and bring her back immediately. But as the minutes ticked by, it became clear that Lexi had vanished into thin air. Ethan's anger gave way to a growing sense of unease. He knew that Lexi had recorded their conversation, and if she were to reveal the secrets she had uncovered, it could mean the end of his empire. Ethan's mind was racing with the implications, and for the first time in his life, he felt truly scared.
As Ethan hastily departed, Damon couldn't help but let out a low, amused chuckle. "It seems like our little friend is in a bit of a hurry," he said, his eyes glinting with amusement.
Damon's men exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of how to react to their boss's sudden change in demeanor. But Damon just smiled to himself, clearly pleased with the way things were unfolding.
Lexi knew that she will bw hunted down so she decided to elope country so that she will return after a while so she went home and packed her little belongings so that she could catch the bus
upon discovering that she is trying to move to another city Ethan wasted no time to capture her

Lexi was busy packing her belongings when she suddenly heard Ethan's voice. "Going somewhere? Not so fast, because we have some unfinished business." She felt scared but tried to act brave. "What do you want? I don't remember allowing you into my house. How did you enter?"
Ethan chuckled. "Do you expect me to answer that stupid question? Well, I have my own ways. Let's just say I'm here to take you with me." Lexi was puzzled by Ethan's boldness, but she regained her composure. "I don't remember agreeing to come with you, wherever you're going."
Ethan smirked, seemingly pleased by her feistiness. He ordered his men to take her away, and Lexi struggled to break free. However, she was eventually knocked unconscious.
They drove for hours before arriving at a grand estate. Ethan carried Lexi inside and ordered the maids to prepare a room for her next to his own. He laid her down in her new room and returned to his own room.
Later, Ethan received a visit from Scorpion, his right-hand man. "What are you planning to do with the spy we have in the dungeon?" Ethan remained silent for a moment before responding, "Let's go find out who sent him."
In the dungeon, Ethan interrogated the spy, using brutal methods to extract information. The spy eventually revealed that Alexandrio had sent him to spy on Ethan.
Ethan ordered his men to take the spy to the infirmary and then send him back to Alexandrio with a message: if he wanted to confront Ethan, he should come himself instead of sending spies.
Ethan returned to his room, where he found Ambra, one of his empire's fierce assassins, waiting for him. She was acting possessively, which stirred Ethan's anger. He grabbed her neck, choking her, and demanded to know who had given her permission to enter his room.
After releasing Ambra, Ethan ordered her to leave immediately. He then instructed his guards to call the maids to change his beddings.
Lexi woke up to a throbbing headache and found herself in an unfamiliar room. She realized she had been kidnapped by Ethan and began searching for her bag and phone to call for help. However, she couldn't find them.
She decided to explore the estate, hoping to find someone to assist her. Lexi spotted a maid in the corridor and rushed to ask for her help. The maid recognized Lexi as the woman Ethan had brought in the night before.
The maid sympathized with Lexi but refused to help, fearing Ethan's wrath. Lexi was left alone, contemplating her situation.
Hours passed, and Ethan returned to the estate. He found Lexi in the corridor and took her hand, leading her back to his room. Lexi struggled to break free, but Ethan's grip was too strong.
In his room, Ethan warned Lexi that even if she tried to escape, she wouldn't succeed. He told her to accept her new reality and cooperate with him. Lexi began crying, begging Ethan to release her and promising not to reveal his secrets.
Ethan's expression turned cold, and he warned Lexi not to push him beyond his limits. He asked her if she wanted to be treated like a slave. Lexi, frightened by Ethan's anger, cried uncontrollably.
Ethan felt a pang of pity for Lexi, which was unusual for him. He wondered what was wrong with him.
Later, Ethan received a call from Scorpion and left Lexi sleeping on the floor. When he returned, he found Lexi still asleep and decided to carry her to his bed.
As he looked at Lexi, he was struck by her beauty, even in her sleep. Ethan went out to eat and later returned to his room, where he met Scorpion. His right-hand man asked about Lexi, wondering what Ethan planned to do with her now that she knew his secrets.
Ethan didn't respond, lost in thought as he gazed at Lexi.
Here
Lexi woke up to the sound of footsteps outside her room. She sat up in bed, her heart racing as she wondered who it could be. The door opened, and Ambra walked in, carrying a tray with breakfast.
"Good morning," Ambra said, her voice dripping with sweetness. "I brought you some breakfast. Ethan thought you might be hungry."
Lexi eyed Ambra warily, unsure of what to make of her sudden kindness. "Thanks," she said, trying to sound polite.
Ambra set the tray down on the bedside table and turned to leave. "By the way, Ethan wants to see you in his office at 10 am. Don't be late."
Lexi nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. What did Ethan want to talk to her about?
After Ambra left, Lexi got out of bed and began to get ready for the day. She took a shower, dressed in the clothes that had been provided for her, and made her way to Ethan's office.
When she arrived, Ethan was sitting behind his desk, looking every inch the powerful businessman. "Ah, Lexi," he said, smiling. "Thanks for coming."
Lexi took a seat in the chair opposite his desk, trying to look confident. "What did you want to talk to me about?" she asked.
Ethan leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together. "I've been thinking," he said. "You're a smart woman, Lexi. I think you could be very useful to me."
Lexi's heart sank. What did Ethan have planned for her?
"I want you to work for me," Ethan continued. "I'll give you a job, a place to live, and a salary. All you have to do is do what I say."
Lexi felt a surge of anger. Did Ethan really think she would just roll over and do his bidding?
"I'm not interested," she said, trying to sound firm.
Ethan's smile grew wider. "I think you are," he said. "You see, Lexi, you don't have a lot of options right now. You're in my debt, and you're going to have to pay me back."
Lexi felt a chill run down her spine. What did Ethan mean?
"I don't know what you're talking about," she said, trying to sound brave.
Ethan leaned forward, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Don't play dumb, Lexi," he said. "I know all about your little secret. And I'm willing to use it against you if you don't do what I say."
Lexi's heart was racing now. What secret was Ethan talking about? And what did he plan to do with it?
