Chapter 1

✓✓ MARIPOSA CORPORATION ✓✓

"Get the fuck out of my office" Reina's cold voice sounded and her secretary fell on her knees crying profusely.

"Please forgive me. I won't do it again, pardon..."

"I don't repeat myself" Reina cut her off and Pinah sniffed before standing up.

"It was good working with you" She said before she was escorted out of her office and a new secretary came in.

"Good day...."

"I don't deal with imperfect people in this organization. One mistake from you will take you out of this corporation. Get me a coffee and study my schedule" Reina cut her off handing her a black file which she collected slowly.

"Won't you get to know my name?" The lady asked and Reina gave her a look.

"I'm..."

"Arlene Foster, get me my coffee" Reina coldly said and Arlene gulped before bowing as she left the office.

"Bunch of low lives" She muttered before standing up. She walked to the glass wall, staring at the city of Chicago with a blank expression.

The reason why Pinah was fired was because she forgot a letter in the document Reina asked her to type.

The door opened and Arlene walked in.

"Here's your coffee ma'am" Arlene said and Reina turned facing her.

She looked at Arlene who had a smile on her face before walking to her. She took the coffee from her, had a sip and thrashed it.

"Do better, it's bitter" She said and Arlene's eyes widened before nodding.

"My schedule" Reina said going back to sit on her throne like chair.

"You're having a meeting with the investors of Louisville Corporation by 8am." Arlene said and she stood walking towards Casper who handed her, her bag.

She left her office with her guard and secretary behind her. She looked at the people working on their computers, trying to create luxurious properties.

She walked out of the building and saw a lot of reporters waiting outside. Some took pictures of her while some tried asking questions but ten guards were handling them.

She ignored them and looked at her limousine waiting for her.

"Where's Eric?" She asked Casper.

"I don't know ma'am" he replied and she saw him running towards the car.

"Sorry ma'am. I got hungry so...."

"Drop your resignation letter on my desk before I get back" She said and some reporters gasped taking pictures.

_"Still as heartless as ever" some said and she looked at Casper. Casper understood and went to the door opening the door.

Reina got in same as Arlene. Casper locked the door and got into the front seat. Another driver came and got in, igniting the engine before driving off.

Casper got down from the limousine and came to open the door. Reina walked out with Arlene following her.

Reina already gave Arlene her handbag so she walked majestically into the big building.

"Welcome, right this way ma'am" a guard said and took her to the board room. Immediately she walked in, they all stood bowing down except a particular man.

She ignored them and walked to have her seat. There was a sit away from the board table where secretaries sat.

"Welcome Miss Reina" An investor said and she nodded in reply.

"Alright, let's begin" The investor doing the presentation said and stood. His secretary began handing out some files which they all took.

Reina opened the file and stared at the content.

"For years, I have admired Reina Mariposa's remarkable journey, building her corporation from the ground up into the luxury powerhouse it is today. Her unwavering dedication, sharp business foresight, and relentless pursuit of excellence have earned her a reputation as a force to be reckoned with.

That's why I am thrilled to announce our intention to join forces with Mariposa Corporation. By combining our resources, competence, and networks, we can unlock unimaginable growth, drive innovation, and set a new standard for excellence in our industries." He said and everyone looked at Reina who was still staring at the file.

'Imperfect! You can't work with this company, they're imperfect' her subconscious said and she stood up.

"You and your company are completely imperfect. A perfect perfect person like me can't work with a company like yours. Once your company is perfect, I'd accept to work with you. This was a complete waste of my time" Reina said and the investors gasped.

"But ma'am...."

"Arlene, let's go" she cut him off and walked out of the room..

_"She is completely ridiculous, if we work with her, she'd gain too"

_"More reason why I dislike her"

The man seated stood up slowly and they looked at him.

His face was blank and cold as he walked out of the room.

Reina walked out of the company and the guard opened the door. She got into the car same as Arlene and Casper and the car drove off.

The man walked out of the building and stared at the limousine driving away. His expression was still blank before going to his own limousine.

The guard opened it for him and he got in to meet his pretty secretary.

"My meeting with Mariposa Corporation is when?" His cold stern voice asked and she opened the file.

"12pm" She said and he signalled his driver to drive.

Reina walked into the hotel and the receptionist told her the room the next meeting was to happen.

"You can't take me there instead of directing me? Is this how imperfect this hotel is?" She asked coldly and the lady bowed.

"I'm sorry. Fresno, take them to room 890" the receptionist said and a lady dressed in red came to them.

"Follow me Miss" She said and started walking. Reina followed her and they entered the elevator.

They soon arrived at the top floor and she took them to the room.

"Thank you" Arlene told the lady before she left and Reina looked at her.

Arlene bit her lips and the door opened making Reina face the door. The receptionist already told him she was coming.

The man was shirtless, he was putting on a black short and water dripped down his hair to his body.

"Come in" Mr Matteo said with a sly smile and walked to the refrigerator to get a glass of water and she walked in.

"Alone" he added staring at her sexy body and she stopped.

"Whatever meeting you can't have in a restaurant, or with my people around, then i don't wish to work with you" she said and was about to leave when he dropped the water and spoke.

"If you walk out of this project, you'd loose the chance to gain more money, do you want that?" He asked and she gave him a blank look as he came close to her.

"I don't need more money, especially if it's from an imperfect person like you. Never ask for a meeting with me if you're going to be imperfect" she said and turned to go only to hear him laugh.

"I was just pulling your legs Miss, you and your secretary can come in. My business proposal will definitely leave you stunned. It will be perfect, just like you" he said and she looked at Arlene and Casper before turning.

She walked past him and sat down on a chair crossing her legs. Arlene stood behind her, by her left while Casper stood behind her, by her right.

"I'm all ears" she said staring at nowhere but his face.

"The people of our status love luxurious houses, hotels and more. I was planning that with your resources and my smarts, we could build a hotel"

"And I get to name the hotel. I get to hire the people I want and if they are imperfect, I will shut the hotel down" She added and he blinked.

She stood up slowly.

"I will give you the funds you need and I'd come up with the design of the hotel. The building will start unfailingly this night. Make way with my money and I WILL RUIN YOU" She said coldly before walking out of the room.

Chapter 2

Arlene looked at Casper who had a cold look on his face.

"Why does ma'am want everyone to be perfect?" She asked and he looked at her.

"She herself is perfect, if you can't be like her then you aren't needed in the organization" he said and walked out of the room.

She looked at Matteo who had a smirk on his face. She rolled her eyes and went after them catching up to Casper.

"I know but what caused it?" She asked.

"No one knows why she's like that but don't get on her bad side" he said and she exhaled looking at Reina who walked majestically out of the hotel.

Casper opened the door and they both went in. He got in as well and the driver drove off.

"I need absolute peace and quiet to create the perfect design. The properties designs have been made by the people so get a copy of each of their work and bring it to my table" Reina said to Arlene when they got into her office.

"Yess ma'am" she said and left the office.

She sat on her chair and got a folder with blank pages. She placed her elbows on the arm rest of the chair and closed her eyes.

Casper stared at her and let out a small smile. He actually likes her but he can't let her know. He has been trying his best to be perfect in her eyes and he's glad she hasn't fired him yet.

She opened her eyes and his smile disappeared. She opened the folder, got a pen and began creating a design.

She was already done with the design and it covered all the pages on the folder. She closed it and dropped the pen looking at Casper.

"Give it to Mr Matteo and tell him to begin work by 1pm today" she said and he walked to her taking it from him with a bow.

He left the office afterwards and Reina looked at Arlene who was going over the files.

"My schedule" she said and Arlene stood up going to get her hand bag.

"You're having a lunch meeting with the owner of Beckett Corporation" Arlene said and Reina thought for a while before standing.

She walked out of the office and her eyes caught a lady sleeping on the job. She frowned and walked to the desk slamming her palms on it which woke the lady up.

"Ma'am I...."

"Drop your resignation letter on my desk before I get back" she said and walked out of there.

"No ma'am, please don't do this. Your money is the one paying my siblings fees and helping us stay alive. Please ma'am" The lady cried following Reina.

"You would have thought about that before sleeping on your job" she said and the reporters took pictures again.

The lady fell on her knees crying profusely.

"Please could we ask you a question ma'am?" One reporter asked and she looked at the guy.

"Ask"

"Why do you derive joy in firing people? Don't you think of what would happen to them if you fire them?" He asked and some gasped.

"I fire imperfect people from my organization. Before wanting to work in my organization, I let everyone know that they should be perfect. They're the one who choose to be imperfect and I don't work with those type of people" Reina said blankly and he smiled.

"Thank you ma'am" he said and she gave him a look before going into the limousine. Arlene felt pity on the lady before going into the limousine.

The guy who asked the question frowned before leaving the premises.

✓✓ ALINEA RESTAURANT ✓✓

Reina walked into the restaurant and met the restaurant empty. Only the workers were present and the guy she was supposed to meet.

"Don't follow me. Sit there and watch" she told Casper and Arlene who sat at another side in the restaurant.

Reina walked to the table and sat down on the chair crossing her legs. The guy brought down the book he was reading and she smirked.

"You're the one who refused to stand and welcome me when I came to Louisville earlier today" she said and he dropped the book.

"Waiter, an expensive wine please" Liam ignored her and the waiter went to bring it.

"Yes I'm the one. What do you plan on doing about that?" He asked looking at her. The first thing that got him captivated were her slightly exposed boobs.

"I'll...."

"I am your superior. You can't do me anything" he cut her off coldly taking his gaze to her hazel eyes.

The waiter brought the wine and poured into their glasses before leaving.

He took a glass and rested his back on the chair.

"I want you and I to work together. You design what I need and I'd create it and add security to it. Doesn't it sound beautiful?" He asked and she just stared at him.

He actually specialize in making top notch cyber security services that protects luxurious individuals. He can create any device he wants.

"You'd make a perfect partner Reina. In business and pleasure" he said with a smirk and his gaze went to her exposed chest again.

She took the glass of wine and poured it all over him shocking his guards and everyone present. She stood and stared at him with a hateful look.

"I don't work with shitty guys. Take your project elsewhere" she said and he stood.

"Why my lady? Did I make you drip down there?" Liam asked with a smirk and her eyes widened a bit before she turned and walked out of the restaurant. Casper and Arlene followed suite.

His gaze was on her backside till she left the restaurant. He left the restaurant as well and got into his limousine.

"Your clo...."

"I want her" he cut her off and his secretary furrowed her brows.

"Reina?" She asked and he ignored her signalling his driver to drive.

"Take me home" Reina said and the driver nodded driving off. Within 5 minutes, they arrived and Arlene's eyes widened.

The mansion was very huge and wide and she looked at every worker there. They were up to 20 and immediately they saw her, they bowed.

"Welcome young Miss" they all said but she ignored entering her elevator which took her to her room. She walked a few steps and opened her room going in.

She inhaled and exhaled closing her eyes. She walked to her bed and fell on it closing her eyes.

'Did that make you drip down there?'

She sat up immediately and rushed to the restroom. She switched on the shower and got under it hugging her knees to herself.

She closed her eyes as the cold shower poured on her.

She opened her eyes which were red and stood before switching it off. She stripped herself and walked out of the restroom.

The two AC in the room blew her body drying the water droplets.

She went to her closet and brought out a V-neck black fitted short gown. It had a slit on the thigh and she put it on. It brought out her curves and she sprayed perfume. She brushed her hair down and put on a pair of black heels.

She walked out of the room and entered her elevator. It took her downstairs and she met Arlene and Casper standing in the living room.

"Ma'am, what happened? You were upstairs for 4 hours. Are you okay?" Arlene asked worriedly.

"Take her and dress her up for the event happening now. Casper, change your outfit" she said ignoring the question and a maid came to Arlene.

Arlene looked at Reina whose eyes were back to normal already.

"What's wrong with Miss Reina? Why is she acting this way?" Arlene asked the maid who was checking out varieties of black gowns.

"I don't know."

"But why did she stay in the room for 4 hours?" Arlene asked and the maid looked at her.

"If you want to know, ask her. Go put this on" the maid said handing her a black gown. Arlene sighed before taking it from her. The maid left and she changed into the black gown.

Her make up was done by another maid who came in before they left the room.

Reina stood up from the couch when Casper and Arlene came.

"Let's go" she said and walked out of the mansion. Casper and Arlene followed suite.

✓✓ VENDI HOTEL ✓✓

A wide hall is being used for the event happening. It was decorated with twinkling lights and beautiful flowers in vases. A huge chandelier was fixed to the ceiling at the centre of the living room and more beautiful decorations could be seen. The party was screaming LUXURY. Only people of high esteem can attend the party.

Reina walked into the hall with Casper and Arlene following her from behind and Mr Matteo approached her.

"Welcome beautiful" he said and she just stared at him.

His gaze went to her exposed bóóbs and he licked his lips.

"Casper" she said and he walked to Matteo.

"Leave" He said.

"Why? I just came to say hi yunno" Matteo said.

"She said you should leave, is it too hard to understand? Or do we have to make you understand?" Arlene asked coming to stand beside Casper in front of Reina.

Reina stared at her before looking at Matteo who scoffed and walked off.

They faced Reina who just nodded at them. They stood behind her and she looked around the hall.

"Give Reina a drink" someone told a waiter and he nodded.

The waiter got a tray of wine and approached Reina. Mr Matteo placed his leg in front of the waiter and the waiter stumbled.

Casper pulled her back so the wine poured on the ground near her heels.

Reina looked at the waiter and then at Matteo who had a frown on his face. A waiter came from behind and he stumbled on his legs wanting to pour the wine on her but a strong arm pulled her away by the waist so it poured on the ground.

Arlene gasped shifting away and Casper looked back.

Reina's hair covered her face a bit and the guy who pulled her away pushed the hair behind her ear.

Her eyes widened at his cold yet soothing touch.

Chapter 3

"You look sexy" Liam said hoarsely and she frowned getting out of his grip.

She faced the waiter who was standing up and she kicked him down with her heels.

"Who hired these bunch of idiots?" She asked looking around the guest. A dark shadow left the hall from behind and she frowned.

"Casper" she called and used her eyes to show him the way.

Casper nodded and went after the shadow.

"We're so sorry ma'am" the two waiters said kneeling down in front of her.

"I'd handle them" Liam said and she looked at him.

"I never asked you to" she said and he just stared at her before snapping his fingers. Four of his guards came took hold of the waiters taking them away.

"When I say I'd handle something, I will" he said before turning and he left the hall.

The music started again and she faced the crowd who already started moving to the music.

"Ma'am, are you alright?" Arlene asked and Reina looked at her.

"Yes" she simply said and walked to the VIP couch. She sat on it and Arlene sat beside her.

Drinks were served to them and they drank out of their glasses.

The music stopped and the organizer of the party came to the stage.

"Good day esteemed guests, I'm thrilled to have you all at my party" she began.

"It was really difficult getting Reina Mariposa to join this party but I'm glad she did. I hope it's perfect Miss Reina" she said and Reina nodded.

"Thank you. Y'all are free to mingle around and get new investors signed with your company, you're free to. But let's make sure we have a nice night tonight. Cheers to a blissful cooperation" she said raising her glass up.

"Cheers" the rest replied raising their glasses up as well.

She smiled before leaving the stage and the music came back on.

Matteo sighted Reina at the VIP and he smirked. He walked up to her and Arlene stood up.

"Leave my boss alone" Arlene said and he laughed.

"That's something I can't do my dear" he said and pushed Arlene aside leaning towards Reina.

"We're partners remember, how can I leave you alone?" He asked glancing at her cleavage again.

She slapped him hard and pushed him with her palms standing up.

"The deal is off" she said and he laughed.

"That can't happen, I have the design. So with or without you, I will build that hotel and make billions from it" he said and laughed before leaving.

Reina folded her fists tightly.

'If you hadn't been so imperfect, this wouldn't have happened. You're changing' her subconscious said and she closed her eyes.

"I need that design back" she said and opened her eyes before looking at Matteo who was laughing with his colleagues.

"How will you get it back ma'am?" Arlene asked.

"I'm going to his hotel" she said and Arlene blinked.

"How will you then take it?" Arlene asked and Reina sighed.

"Stop with the questions" she said and Arlene kept shut.

"You will be my eyes, when you see him leaving the hall or when he wants to leave, let me know" she said.

"Can't any of your guards do it?"

"They're not as perfect as me. They can't do it" she said and left the hall.

Arlene blinked shockingly and Casper ran back to her.

"Where's boss?"

"She's on a mission to get her design back" Arlene said and Casper smiled.

"It's been long I've seen her handling things herself" Casper said and Arlene furrowed her brows.

"What do you mean?"

"You'd find out soon" Casper said and looked at Matteo.

Reina's limousine stopped at the back of the hotel and she came down. She was putting on a black fitted jean and a black armless cropped shirt with a black leather jacket.

Her face was masked only her eyes could be seen.

"Take the limousine elsewhere. When I need you, I'd call. Failure to be here before I get out means loosing your job" she said and closed the door before looking around.

She made sure no one was looking before jumping on an AC then she jumped on the base of a window. She jumped again and held the handle of the balcony in room 890. She climbed on it slowly and quietly.

She looked down but she saw no one and she exhaled before taking a pin from her hair. She unlocked the door fixed there but she was met with a kick which threw her down the balcony.

Her eyes were wide as she continued falling only to land in strong arms. She looked at her savior and exhaled before getting down from him.

She frowned and wanted to jump again when Liam held her hand.

"Reina?" He asked and her eyes widened a bit before pulling out of his grip.

"Leave" she coldly said and jumped on the AC, then the window and finally the balcony.

Liam let out a small smirk before calling two of his guards.

"Go to room 890 and help her" He said and they nodded going into the hotel.

The door was closed again and she looked around. She saw an open window at the side and she jumped to the base wanting to go inside only to be kicked again and she started falling.

Liam sighed widening his arms as he caught her again.

She got down from him and inhaled.

"This wouldn't have happened if I was perfect. I'm loosing my perfection and it's costing me dearly" she seethed and looked up.

Liam gave her a stare before looking up as well.

The guards threw down the guy who has been kicking her and he fell as his head cracked open on the ground.

"The reporter from this afternoon" she muttered.

"Let's go to the room" He said and left her going through the front door.

She jumped again till she got to the balcony. She walked through the door of the balcony and met Liam and his guards.

"How did he get in?" Liam asked his guards.

"He was waiting for Matteo when he noticed someone trying to break in" One of his guards said.

"He died" Reina muttered and Liam looked at her.

"So? You would have died if not for me" He said and she walked away going to search for her design.

Liam swung his fingers and his guards helped in search for her design.

He sat down on a chair and crossed his legs watching Reina keenly.

She felt his eyes on her and she turned to look at him. He smirked and she turned going to another side to search for the design.

Liam scoffed before standing up. He walked to the refrigerator and brought out the design.

"Found it" He said and they turned.

"How?" She asked walking to him.

"He placed it in a place no one would think of searching" he said and removed the design from the polythene bag before handing it to Reina.

He signalled his guards to leave which they did and he stared at her.

"How did you know who I was?" She asked and he leaned in.

"I know what's mine when I see it" He said with a smirk and stood well.

"Never knew Miss perfect is sneaky" he added cockily before chuckling.

She just stared at him, blankly.

"You look sexy in black and to think you're already mine" he muttered rolling his eyes.

She frowned and slapped him hard. He chuckled touching his slightly red cheek.

"I'm not yours!!" She snapped and he grabbed her by the throat pushing her back till her back hit the door.
