Lola Smith and Colin Murphy had promised a marriage of convenience before Lola went abroad. Two years later, when Lola came back and wanted a divorce, Colin just put aside her proposal and ran after her. While Lola was sick, Colin stayed up with her in case she got worse. When she got hurt, Colin, who literally doesn't have to do anything on his own, took care of her all the time by himself. Once she argued a divorce again, he just replied, "Well, surely we can get a divorce, but after that you must remarry me. You are my only wife and we have to spend our entire life together." How could she keep away from him, the gentle and soft man?

Chapter 1 We Could Get Divorced at Any Time

It took Lola Smith a dozen hours to fly from Paris to Sea City. She was completely tired and exhausted.

It was at dusk when she left the airport. The rosy clouds shone brightly in the sky. The afterglow of the setting sun sprinkled on the city, making the whole city look familiar yet unfamiliar.

Wrapping up her scarf, Lola dragged her suitcase out of the airport, went to the roadside to stop a taxi, and headed straight for the Imperial Glory Hotel.

Thinking that she would see Colin a while later, Lola was inexplicably nervous.

After getting married for two years, they had seen each other only a few times. The last time they had seen each other took place half a year ago when Colin had gone to France for a business trip. He, who probably had been ordered by his seniors, had specially gone to Paris to visit Lola's grandmother.

The door to the room was open. Lola knocked on the door out of politeness and got no answer. She directly pushed the door and walked in.

The presidential suite was located on the top floor of the hotel. There was a whole side of the French window inside the room, offering a wide view to overlook all the scenery of Sea City.

The setting sun not far away was sinking and floating at the meeting point of the sea and the sky. In the sky, there were brilliant rosy clouds and dotted returning birds.

Lola stood in the middle of the room and dragged the suitcase at her hand as she was attracted by the view outside the window.

"Clatter, clatter!" It wasn't until a few moments later that she heard the sound of water from the bathroom.

A few minutes later, the door to the bathroom was pulled open. A dainty and slender woman appeared behind the door.

The woman only wore a towel provided by the hotel, which was just long enough to cover the base of her thighs. There were two long and fair legs beneath the towel.

Upon seeing Lola, Tami stiffened immediately. It took her a long time to come back to her senses. She pulled the bathrobe next to her frantically and wrapped it around her body in a panic.

"Lo... Lola, why are you here?"

Lola didn't answer. Looking down at Tami's taut toes, Lora wanted to laugh all of a sudden. But She managed to hold back and tugged at the corner of her mouth as she called, "Sister-in-law."

Tami laughed awkwardly, "Don't get me wrong. I came to a dinner party with Colin and spilled the soup accidentally, making my clothes soiled. So I went here to take a bath... "

She was eager to explain. However, before she finished explaining, the door was pushed open and Colin walked in with a paper bag at his hand.

Seeing Lola, Colin was startled. But he came back to his senses quickly, "When did you come back?"

Lola glanced at the suitcase at her hand and curled up her lips, "Just arrived."

Colin handed the paper bag to Tami, who took it over hurriedly and turned into the bathroom to get changed.

Although Colin was just Lola's nominal husband, upon seeing another woman showing up in the room of her "husband" while being half-naked, Lola felt that the atmosphere was somewhat...

Well, it's quite embarrassing.

What's more, this woman was the sister-in-law of Colin!

Fortunately, Tami, who was very sensible, changed her clothes and left without further explanation.

Colin walked over to the bar, raised his eyebrows slightly, and asked Lola, "What do you want to drink? Juice or coffee?"

"No need." Lola stood there without moving, "I'll be leaving soon. Don't bother."

Colin poured her a cup of coffee. And Lola took it over, "Thank you."

Colin held a cup of coffee for him at his hand, walked over to the sofa, and sat down while overlapping his long legs, "Are you here for something?"

Lola squeezed the cup. She, who didn't intend to talk about any bullshits, got straight to the point, "Regarding the issue, what's your conclusion after deliberation?"

Colin raised his eyebrows, "What is it?"

"Getting divorced."

Colin gave an "oh" as if he had remembered something, "So, you've made up your mind, right?"

Lola gave a faint "hmm" and added thoughtfully, "We agreed at first that we could get divorced at any time."

Chapter 2 What Do You Plan to Say

At first, they had made an agreement that their marriage was just a mere form. As long as one party proposed getting divorced, they could get divorced at any time.

Of course, Colin did not forget about their agreement. However, the way how Lola had stressed specifically made Colin somewhat unhappy in secret.

He narrowed his eyes and knocked against the wall of the cup with his fingertips lightly, "Naturally, there is no problem on my side. But... regarding your grandfather and my grandfather, what do you plan to say to them?"

Lola was startled by his question. To be honest, she hadn't figured out how to talk to the two seniors.

Colin gave a low laugh, "As long as you can handle the two old men, I can divorce you at any time."

Lola was a bit messed up by the faint mockery on his face. What's worse, the man in front of her still looked like he was enjoying himself, sipping the coffee in his cup slowly.

It was clear to him that she couldn't convince their grandfathers.

Lola let out a sigh slowly, "I'll be responsible for clarifying to the grandfathers. Let's get prepared first."

Colin raised his eyes and looked at her. The look in his eyes was a little darker.

Lola pinched her fingers as she planned what to say next in secret.

Originally, she had thought that Colin wouldn't agree. Otherwise, he should have replied to her message a week ago instead of waiting for her to run to him personally to talk about getting divorced.

Unexpectedly, a moment later, Colin lifted his lips slightly, "Good."

Well, did he actually consent so quickly?

Lola, who was still startled, released a sigh of relief quickly, "Thank you."

...

For the next few days, Lola had been recovering from the jet-lag in the hotel, who never left the room and even finished all three meals in her room. This afternoon, as she was sleeping, she was woken up by a burst of ringing tones.

It wasn't until the ringing had been going on for a while that she fetched her phone and saw that it was Tami's call.

Although she didn't know why this woman had called her all of a sudden, she still picked the call up and politely called out, "Sister-in-law."

Tami, who didn't like to be addressed like this at all, gave a dry laugh, "Do you have time tonight? I want to invite you for a meal."

Although they were family members, Lola had no friendship with Tami at all. Even so, they still belonged to the same family. Since Tami had said so, it was hard for Lola to refuse her.

Tami sent her the address soon. They would meet at a restaurant located on the outskirts of the city, which was somewhat remote. So Lola took a taxi there.

When she arrived at the restaurant, the waiter led her to a private room.

This was a restaurant with landscape scenery. Outside the private room, there was a courtyard. In the courtyard, there was a lotus pond, which was surrounded by rocky mountains and covered by green bamboo. The environment was quite good.

The only flaw is that in early winter, the lotus flowers in the pond had wilted. Only a few red fishes were swimming in the pond.

The idle waiting was boring. So Lola went outside to enjoy the scenery.

Soon, the glass door near the pond was pushed open. And the one who came out of the private room was not Tami but a tall and slender woman.

The woman was dressed in a sexy little black dress at the Chanel brand. Her body figure was curvy and well-maintained. She was wearing a pair of super big black sunglasses. Two flaming red lips below the sunglasses were quite eye-catching.

Lola frowned, "May I ask who you are looking for?"

The woman didn't say anything and slowly took off her sunglasses, revealing a pair of quite distinctly slanted eyes.

Upon seeing the pair of slanted eyes, Lola recognized her immediately. It turned out she was the somewhat well-known model in recent days, Rachel.

Although she had been living abroad, her bestie had often sent her the gossip related to Colin. So she knew that this woman was Colin's new lover in recent days.

It was said that Colin often took her to dinner parties and even gave her a sports car and a luxury house as gifts.

But these were all Colin's private matters, she naturally wouldn't interfere with him, which they had both agreed at the beginning.

Why... Why did this woman show up here all of a sudden?

Chapter 3 I Got Pregnant with Colin's Baby

Before Lola spoke, Rachel had walked over and handed a report to the front of her.

Lola glanced down and didn't take it over.

"What can I do for you, please?"

"Miss Smith, I'm pregnant."

Lola somewhat wanted to laugh all of a sudden, "Oh? Is it my baby?"

Rachel was startled, "It's Colin's child!"

"In that case, you should go and tell Colin. Why did you tell me?"

Rachel obviously didn't expect that Lola would say so. The lines she had been preparing for a long time became useless suddenly. It took her quite a while to come to her senses.

"Miss Smith, I really want to give birth to this baby. Please do me a favor, okay?"

Lola curled up her lips slightly, "How am I supposed to help you?"

"Divorce Colin! As long as you divorce him, I can be with him in an open and honest way and give birth to this child... "

Oh, didn't Colin tell this woman that they would get divorced soon?

Well, it made sense. After all, this matter was related to the interests of the two big groups. Colin would not say anything at all before the final decision was made.

Lola let out a sigh slowly, "Sorry, this matter is between you and Colin and it has nothing to do with me at all. You can go and discuss it with Colin."

Her tone was light. And she still had a hint of a smile on her face, looking polite. However, Rachel still could see the disgust and indifference hidden in her eyes.

The look in Lola's eyes looked so harsh.

Rachel, who came to Sea City from the countryside, had been striving for a dozen years to get where she was today. These people, who were merely reincarnated in better families, had no right to look down on her!

However angry Rachel was, she had to suppress her anger and continued to compromise out of consideration. It took her great efforts to lean on a top-class diamond bachelor. No way that she would give him up!

"Miss Smith, I know that you and Colin have no feelings for each other at all. In that case, why don't you let go of him? I can be a cow to serve you in my next life if you are willing to do us a favor... "

Lola didn't want to bother with her here. She turned around to enter the private room, only to be stopped by Rachel.

"Miss Smith, you should stop running away. You'll have to face it sooner or later anyway... "

As she spoke, she was going to come over and grab Lola's hand again. Lola retreated instinctively. The stone under her feet was slippery. "Splash!" As her body tilted, she fell into the lotus pond directly.

Although the water wasn't very deep, the clothes on her body were all wet. And her calf bones were knocked down on the stone from a famous lake, which made her heartily painful.

Noticing the mess, Rachel was terrified and just froze there.

Lola had no choice but to fend for herself. However, the stone by the pool was so slippery that it was impossible for Lola to grasp it. After trying a few times, Lola still could not climb up.

"What are you guys doing?!"

A low voice came from the side suddenly. After that, Rachel came to her senses and was about to explain to Colin as she saw him.

"Colin, Miss Smith, Miss Smith fell down by herself!"

Lola, who really wanted to laugh, wiped her face directly and looked at Colin, "Sorry, can you help me?"

Colin came over to pull her up in a hurry. When he held her hand, he found out her palm was all cold.

It was in winter. The water in the pool was cold and bone-chilling. And she was dressed in thin clothes.

Her apricot-colored thick knitted shirt was matched with a nude pink chiffon skirt. A small portion of her legs showed below the skirt. Somewhere above the ankle, a large piece of skin was worn out, which was seeping out blood.

Colin took off his jacket hurriedly and draped it over Lola's body. Lola tightened the jacket and said, "Thank you." After that, she walked into the private room to get her handbag and left.

Noticing her walking lamely, Colin was about to go after her, only to be dragged by Rachel.
