Chapter 1 Regret

"Who the hell let this woman into my office?" He screamed, his voice making me flinch.

The secretary tensed, her eyes fearful as she stared at me and then at him.

"You're fired!" He snarled, "Get the f**k out!"

The lady quickly scampered away, tears in her eyes and I felt so bad I was the cause of the sudden loss of her job

He walked up to me and I flinched as he arrogantly threw some bills at my face.

"This is what you want. Right? You slut!"

I drew my gaze to the ground fighting the tears that threatened to spill out of my eyes. Clenching my fists, I watched as the dollar bills flew all over the place.

"I didn't come here for this. I'm not a golddigger. I only come here to tell you I'm pregnant with your child." I managed to say in a raspy voice.

He scoffed, "Oh really? I thought that's what all sluts and golddiggers wants. I know the likes of you. Always coming here to pin their bastards on me, all for what? Money!" He growled.

I flinched as his words pierced through me like a dagger. I slowly took some steps back and his voice stopped me

"The next time I set my eyes on you, I'll make sure I kill you. Foolish golddigger!"

My fists clenched and unclenched at my sides, unable to bear the wrath of his words.

My tears finally ran down my cheeks and I dashed out of the office. This was a mistake. A huge, huge mistake. What was I thinking about coming here? I've never been so embarrassed in all my life.

I ran out of the building, my face down, to hide my tears from the public. To think I went through the trouble of searching all over for him only to be called a slut!

I didn't know he was 'the' Jason Richmond, Billionaire CEO of Sterling Group and the country's sweetheart. I didn't even know he was getting married until I saw him on the news.

I slumped on a wall nearby and held my face in my hands. If only my godforsaken fiance has not cheated on me with Annie my best friend. I wouldn't be in this dilemma.

I remember that fateful day. The day I met him. The day we had sex.

The sun was scorching hot as I strolled into the amusement park admiring the kids laughing and having fun. This was the perfect place to escape the harsh reality I had just dealt with. This was the exact park I always frequented when I was a kid before Dad made us relocate to a different City...

I walked in, towards the spot where they sell drinks, "I need a chilled margarita with lemon," I told the lady behind the counter.

I looked around me watching the kids playing, but as I glanced up, I couldn't help but notice a tall figure standing alone at the far end of the halls watching an artwork. He seemed to be a young man, standing there and watching the painting with a look I couldn't decipher.

From behind, I could see his broad shoulders, his toned arms, and the way his shirt clung to his back. His hair looked tousled, and he had an air of confidence about him. I couldn't help but feel a flutter in my stomach as I watched him. There was something about him that was just so... magnetic.

A thought immediately came to my mind, "Fuck it!" I muttered

"Excuse me," the lady frowned, handing me my drink.

"Oh, sorry, I wasn't talking to you," I flashed her a sweet smile, "I'd need another of these," I gestured to the drink.

She nodded and handed me another.

I walked down the halls, my eyes never leaving the young man's back. 'No way this is considered cheating. I was the one cheated on so I might as well have some fun,' I thought.

I stopped directly at his back and tapped him. He turned slowly and I couldn't help but marvel at his beauty. His lips got my attention, pink soft and I imagined what it'd taste like.

"Excuse me," he said as his blue eyes bore into mine. I quickly got a hold of myself and noticed he was holding a bottle of wine in his hand and seemed...drunk?

"Oh, I saw you from afar and figured you might need a drink," I said brushing my arms against his. He raised an eyebrow, his eyes darting from my eyes to the drink in my hand. He glanced at me like he was sizing me up. He walked closer to me, "What do you want? He slurred.

"I...I just..." I stuttered.

He seemed to get the message as he immediately grabbed me into the nearest room, shutting the door behind me.

Before I could have a bearing on my surroundings, his lips were on mine. The force nearly knocked me over but his large hands held me firmly against himself.

It was ecstatic as I had never felt anything like it. I had been saving myself up for my stupid fiance but now I couldn't care less. My virginity is on its way to hell.

Before I knew it, he had pinned me over to the wall and ground against me, my moans filling the room.

My senses clouded as I felt him lower me to the floor, my back hitting the cold tiles. I need to have him.

I heard the clinking of metal and assumed he was taking off his belt, his lips never leaving mine as they sucked and tugged, our tongues fighting for dominance.

And then I felt warm hands on my sex. It's a good thing I was putting on a very short gown... With the rate we're going, I don't think we might have the patience for...

"Ahhh..." I screamed as his fingers penetrated me. He withdrew it quickly and positioned his cock at my entrance.

"Fuck!" He growled as he rammed into me.

I saw stars. The feeling was indescribable as he kept fucking me harder until I could feel pleasure building until we rode off the euphoria we were on.

We lay there, spent and trying to catch our breaths. He immediately stood up, buckling his belt, his back turned to me.

I was suddenly hit with a wave of regret, "what have I done?" I muttered. I stood up quickly, arranging my clothes.

'This isn't me, ' I thought to myself as I watched the stranger pick up his bottle of wine. I dashed out of the room.

I was suddenly hit with a bite of cold air which brought me out of my thoughts.

I wiped the tears off my cheek as I got off the wall, fueled with a sudden determination.

I need to leave. On my own.

It wouldn't be fair to my parents when they found out I was suddenly pregnant with a stranger, especially after I had just called off the wedding with my ex, a few weeks ago.

Chapter 2 Married

Jason's POV

I loosened my tie as I sighed in frustration.'How many more s***t do I have to go through today?'

"And who the hell let that b***h in here?" I seethed and looked towards Jace, my assistant.

The hotel is very tight in security and I wondered how she was able to walk her way in. It was also the same hotel where Dad had planned to hold the marriage he had arranged for me with the daughter of his business partner and old-time friend, Robert Steve, CEO of Faze Groups.

The union would make the company's shares skyrocket and both companies flourish.

"I don't know how she managed to get in," Jace said softly, "but you need to calm down. You know you can't make decisions when you're angry. You can't mess this up."

"I'm fucking stressed man. On the one hand, I have to deal with this f****g marriage, and on the other hand, I just have to listen to the s**t that claimed she was pregnant for my child. Could you believe that trash?"

Jace looked at me warily, "Uhm...well," he shrugged, "She ain't the first, but... You did sleep with her."

I rolled my eyes, "She must have had it all planned out. I mean...she knew who I was before..."

A knock sounded on the door, interrupting me. A young man peeked in, "Mr. Jason, it's time for the groom."

Jason heaved a breath and Jace walked up to him in hurried steps, fixing his tie, "Calm down man everything will be fine," he said.

They quickly finished up and stepped out of the room, walking down to the hall where the wedding was set to take place.

****

It was 6 pm as I sat in my study room gently poring over some files. This has been my safe place when I want to avoid the stranger my father has arranged and forced a marriage on us.

As much as I couldn't blame him, it was for a business deal. And the merging of our companies, Sterling Group and Faze Group will make us one of the best in the world.

I understand the importance of business statistics but I detest the fact that I have to live with Alexis Scott, my supposed wife.

Three years of marriage and I haven't touched her once. Weird right? It's a surprise to me too as I naturally love p****y. But I couldn't bring myself to f**k her. Maybe I'd prefer to get off on random women as I don't see her as a woman but as a business property.

I flipped through the files on my desk carefully going through them as the door opened. "Here she is again," I rolled my eyes. I watched her from the corner of my eyes as she stepped into the office and stood in front of the desk.

"So this is what you do," She folds her arms across her chest.

I looked up at her. She was clad in a transparent night robe... obviously to seduce me again. I immediately averted my eyes and flipped through the files, feigning noninterest.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, even though I already knew what she meant.

"It's been months, Jason. Are you bent on not having anything to do with me? You know how badly I want a child."

That's all she cares about. A child. But I couldn't care less. She's looking for a way to make me committed to this marriage.

I ignored her and she continued, "We don't have a child yet because you practically spend all your time in this office, running away from your duties!"

I stared at her incredulously, "And what duties, if I may ask? I married you right? Isn't that enough? You seem to be forgetting that this is a marriage based on business purposes. Other than that, I'm not obligated to fulfill any of your so-called desires!"

She bit her lips, "this isn't what I bargained for."

I shrugged, "Don't blame me, blame your father who sold you off."

She frowned and moved closer to me. I knew I had hit a button. Aside from the main reason we got married, I had known Alexis had harbored a crush on me already. How it happened I didn't know.

But she smiled sweetly, masking her emotions, "And you?" She asked, "What happened? I could tell you hardly keep your d**k in your pants... Don't I look attractive to you?"

I ignored her and was taken aback when she swatted the files on my desk and they flew all over the room.

"I'm not one to be messed with Jason. I deserve every respect I should get in this marriage and I expect you to fully understand the importance of this marriage and do your f****g duty!" She fumed as she stormed out of the office.

I clenched my fists as rage surged through me. My blood boiling at her audacity. No one does that to me. No one even dares talk back at me and this woman suddenly feels like she has the right just because we're married?

I stood up and picked up the files scattered all over when a picture caught my attention. It was sticking out of a file and I wondered how it got there.

I took it out and stared at it in sheer longing, "Haze," I murmured staring at the picture of the ten-year-old girl I'd had a crush on.

I picked up my phone and called Jace my assistant and confidant.

"Any information about her yet?"

"You mean..."

"Yes"

I heard him sigh over the phone. Jace has been the one helping me to track her whereabouts. Ever since she dropped out of school. I haven't set my eyes on her. I could remember then as a little boy pleading with my dad to hire a private detective to search for her. But Dad kept insisting that it was of no use.

But as soon as I grew up and understood how it worked, I began a search for her but always arrived at a dead end.

"Haze...where in the world are you?"

Chapter 3 Seeing Him Again

Third-person narrative;

Hazel rushed to the counter eager to make the obnoxious woman at table five stop ranting. She'd just come in a few minutes ago and had rejected almost everything she'd ordered.

This is the fourth now and Hazel was slowly losing it. She needed this job, else she wouldn't hesitate to put her in place.

Sighing, Hazel dropped the meal on the counter and heard it clatter.

"What's up with her," Lisa, the cook, asked with a frown on her face.

Hazel rolled her eyes, "Apparently, she's now a vegetarian."

Lisa scoffed, "A vegetarian? Wasn't she the one that ordered bacon earlier?"

Hazel just shrugged.

She quickly fixed up her order and went to serve her but as she saw it, she immediately pushed it away, fuming.

"What took you so long, bitch?" she raised her hands and made to hit her.

Hazel closed her eyes awaiting the impact but it never came. She reopened them only to see the woman's shocked expression as her hands were held by a much larger one suspending it in mid-air.

It was her boss, Justin. The owner of the five-star restaurant where she worked.

"Physical abuse is highly prohibited in this restaurant. You've overstayed ma'am. It's time to leave."

Hazel gave him a small smile and he nodded at her. She went back to her post at the back and Justin went after her.

"I'm so sorry Sir...I.." she made to explain but he cut her off.

"No, Hazel. I saw everything happen. You can't keep letting these people get to you. I understand the restaurant's policies but you should learn to stand up for yourself," he implored in a soft voice.

Hazel sighed, "I know...I just wasn't expecting her to ..."

He walked towards her, "You always let others walk over you and that's why it keeps happening."

Justin has always been so reasonable. He isn't just a boss to Hazel but a really good friend and confidant.

"I'm sorry," she muttered

"It's okay, you can take the rest of the day off. I know you have to go pick up Ana."

Ana is Hazel's three-year-old daughter. She had given birth to her a few months after she relocated to Country A, after the horrible episode she'd gone through in her hometown. She'd left everything behind without even informing her parents ...

"Hazel?..." Justin called snapping her out of her thoughts.

"Sorry, uhm....thank you, Mr. Jus..."

"I've told you to stop calling me that. Justin is fine."

She gave him a small smile and excused herself to freshen up.

She went to pick up Ana from her nanny and went home.

She walked into her apartment, holding her daughter's hands....

"How was your day, sweetheart?" She asked, as she took off her coat and hung it on the rack.

"It was so much fun!" Ana exclaimed, as she ran to the living room and started playing with her toys. "I played with dolls, and we made pretend food!"

Hazel smiled, watching her daughter play. "It sounds like you had a wonderful day, Ana. But you should also focus on your studies, okay?

She pouted, but said, "Okay Mummy."

Hazel gave her a tired smile and ruffled her hair.

"Mummy, can I have a snack?" Ana asked, looking up at her mother with wide eyes.

"Of course, honey...but only after you're done with your homework." She said as she stepped into the kitchen to prepare a meal.

****

The early morning sun swept through the restaurant's windows as Hazel stood at the counter, preparing to serve the first customer of the day. Her thoughts went to the episode of yesterday and prayed silently to not experience any customer like that again.

She held a tray and walked over to the couples who sat at the far end of the room but she suddenly stumbled on her heels.

Hazel quickly pulled herself away from the man with the familiar blue eyes and ran back to the staff room.

It was him. Jason Richmond. The same man who had impregnated her and blatantly called her a slut and a golddigger. She could not forget that very day. The memories came flooding back in with a rush as she leaned on the wall.

Jason on the other hand stood, perplexed at the abruptness of the woman's actions.

'Why did she run off that way?' he wondered.

A flash of recognition suddenly hit him as his eyes widened. He quickly looked to the direction she had taken and went after her.

As he made to pass the counter to the back, he was stopped by a waiter, "Excuse me Sir, but customers are not allowed in here. It's strictly for staff." he said

"I need to see her," he made to bypass him but the guy calmly held him back, "With all due respect Sir, you need to go back to your seat or..."

"Or what," he fumed, "Do you know who I am? What gave you the right to think you can talk to me that way?" he bellowed, clenching his fists angrily.

The waiter whose name was John calmly replied, "I'm sorry Sir, but it's against the rules. The boss would not be happy when he finds out about this."

Jason relaxed a little. Since the lady was a worker here, he was still bound to meet her again. So he went back and took a seat, patiently waiting for her to come out.

John, the waiter went to the back and saw Hazel leaning there with tears in her eyes,

"Hazel, what's the matter, why is there a man out there wanting to see you? He almost came in here!" He walked up to her and Hazel quickly dried her eyes and stood up, "Where is he?" She asked.

"He is at table 4. I think he might be waiting for you. Do you know him?"

"No! I don't." She replied quickly, "I'm not feeling too good. I can't handle this. Can you cover for me please?" She asked

"It's OK. You need to take care of yourself. You are not looking well."

Hazel murmured a thanks and went to the washroom to clean herself up. When she was done, she took the back exit and left the restaurant.

Jason sat still in his seat, getting agitated and frustrated. He glanced at his wristwatch. It's been three hours and still no sign of her. He also didn't understand the complicated feelings he was having when he made eye contact with her.

He felt like there was more to those eyes. The feeling nagged at him but he couldn't place his hands on what exactly is the issue.

In no time, it was dark and the customers slowly began to reduce leaving just him and a middle-aged man at the next table eating a pie.

Jason knew he had been played. He knew she hadn't got off through the main door. She must have left but through a back door, he guessed.

He brought out his cell phone and made a call.

"What was her name?" He demanded in a curt voice.

Jace's raspy voice sounded at the other end, "Who?"

"The lady that came to the office three years ago claiming she was pregnant for me."

"Uhm...one sec...." he seemed to be shuffling around, "Yeah, Hazel..."

Jason felt his heart skip a beat as he breathed shakily.

"wait..." Jace muttered in an unsure voice, "I hope she's not the same one you've been looking for after so many ...?"

Jason hung up the call as his thoughts spiraled out of control. And then he stood, storming out of the restaurant.
