Contracted to marry the devil's reincarnate Lucien Wolfson, Freya Hawthrone lives in hell. What happens when she falls in love with his best friend?

Chapter 1 Freya's POV; Married to the devil's son

~Freya~

I stood looking at my reflection in the mirror, the glittery diamond Jewelry adorned on my body, the beautiful white dress hugging my skin, it was a day of happiness for all except me. Being the Luna to a powerful pack is one thing, marrying the most dreaded alpha is another. Why me?

I walked towards my window slowly as I gazed at the full moon. Moon goddess, please, anyone but him. Alas, I couldn't do anything about it. This was my fate. Married to the devil's reincarnate, Lucien Wolfson.

My thoughts were interrupted by the maid as she called out to me softly, "Luna, it's time."

Turning my gaze to hers, I forced a smile as I made my way out of the room, placing the veil over my face cautiously as we continued on our way. Rumors rang in my head of how he murdered people in cold blood and fed on their flesh. His looks a nightmare as words couldn't describe him. He was scarred all over, burnt skin from wars and bald, so they said.

As I approached the hall, my heart raced. I could feel my beats hitting my ribs. No! I can't! I need to run.

Run! Run! Run!

That's all that went through my mind. I stopped in my tracks scanning the familiar walls, but security was tight. I had no other choice. "Are you ok Luna?" she asked looking at me concerned.

Quietly, I nodded, projecting a confident aura, though tears threatened to betray my facade as we made our way to the gathering. I felt a knot in my stomach as I approached the hall slowly.

Peeping through the small opening in the door, everyone was seated and dressed to their finest awaiting my arrival. Draped in wine red from head to toe, my father exuded an ominous aura, devoid of any expression of affection. It was clear he wanted to expedite the transaction of my marriage, devoid of any sentiment.

My eyes narrowed through the opening as I scanned the hall deeper. There he was, dressed in black, his face covered with a mask as black gloves clung to his fingers. My soon to be husband, Lucien Wolfson.

"Welcome the bride! Luna Freya Hawthorne," beta John announced.

My hands trembled as I felt my feet go numb. It's really happening.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

The hall roared with cheers as applause filled the air. The huge door creaked open as I stood at the beginning of the entrance. It all felt too real to be true.

Taking in deep breaths, I walked in slowly as the cheers continued and the music started playing.

Walking through the aisle, I couldn't help but listen to the whispers and murmurs of the guests nearby.

"Poor girl, getting married to the devil."

"I think she'll die tonight."

"She won't make it out alive, no one ever escapes his clutches."

Their words ringing in my ear like a resounding alarm. It was too late to do anything now, I'm betrothed to the devil's son.

Arriving at the alter, I stood few inches away from Lucien with my head bowed slightly. My hands trembled uncontrollably as I looked at the masked man in front of me.

Is what they say true? Is he really that hideous? Rumors had it that he had burnt scars all over his face and claws that could slice a cow in half with a single swing.

Could that be why his hands were covered with gloves? "We're gathered here to join Freya and Lucien in an unbreakable bond," beta John announced loudly.

As John continued speaking, I could feel my fear swallow me whole. I didn't want this, but of course, I'm the one who has to sacrifice for the betterment of the pack. Why couldn't anyone else do it?

"Unveil your bride!" John's words cut through my ears as I gasped. He was going to touch me. My mind clouded with ugly images of his eyes from the description of others. His hands held the sides of my veil, my heart beat faster as he took it off.

Curious I raised my head looking at his eyes, it was nothing like they said. He had charming sliver eyes and from his clothes, I could tell he had amazing biceps. Lost in his eyes, unconsciously I stepped forward, slowly closing the distance between us.

He quickly averted his gaze jolting me back to the present.

"Prince Lucien, you need to take off your mask as per custom," John said chuckling nervously. He let out a deep sigh as his hands made their way to his mask.

Curiosity gripped me as my gaze was fixed on him. This was the moment of truth, all the rumors about his looks were about to be confirmed.

Gasp!

Everyone in the hall let out loud gasps as my jaw dropped to the ground. He was nothing like they said. His chiseled face was perfect, his thick black hair arranged meticulously enhancing his face, his perfect physique, his charming sliver eyes. I couldn't stop myself from staring at his perfect thin pink lips. He was a perfectly crafted human.

"You may exchange your vows," John announced as he fixed his gaze on us. "I have nothing to say," Lucien said agitated, his voice deep and husky yet dripping with a seductive allure which pulled me.

Turning his gaze to me, John asked, "Do you have anything to say, Freya?"

"No," I responded timidly shaking my head.

"Well then, by the power vested in me, I pronounce you mates!"

The hall roared with cheers and applause at John's words.

"You may now kiss the bride," John said excitedly as he gestured towards us.

The hall went into a deafening silence as everyone's gaze fixed on us. Kiss me? It was my first kiss, even though he's really handsome, I couldn't give him the privilege, he's a monster with blood on his hands.

I felt strong hands grip my waist pulling me into their embrace. It was Lucien. With one hand on my waist, he cupped my chin compelling me to meet his gaze with the other.

No!

It couldn't be, does he really want to? In the blink of an eye, he took my lips into his. I didn't know how to, so I followed the movement of his lips. His lips had a sweet particular taste I couldn't describe.

Unconsciously, my hands wrapped round his neck deepening our kiss.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

The hall went wild with applause and cheers. He swiftly released me from his grip as he straightened his back. It felt awkward kissing someone you don't love. He averted his gaze away from me swiftly as he made his way down the stage.

Stretching out his hands, he gestured towards me. I placed my hands in his as he led me out of the hall. Flowers were thrown on us as we made our way out. My heart raced as we left the hall.

Taking a peek at the tall man beside me, I felt a surge of conflicting emotions course through me. He's my husband and I, his wife. Today marked a new beginning in our lives.

Chapter 2 Freya's POV; A new beginning

~Freya~

As the cheers and applause became faint I couldn't help but turn one last time to get a final look of my home. The place where I spent most of my life, now I leave to start a new life with a stranger. From a distance I saw my father, he stood their with an expressionless face.

Of course he did, he's never loved me so his best bid is to sell me off to the devil's son.

"Lets go," his cold voice interrupted my thoughts as the carriage arrived.

He swiftly made his way into the carriage as I walked behind him slowly. Getting into the carriage, I sat silently as we rode. The atmosphere was eerie as chills went down my spine. My mind flooded with what awaited me in my new home.

Looking outside the carriage, I took in a mouthful of the night's cold air as I closed my eyes. Biting my lips softly, fear gripped me as I realized what tonight was. Wedding night! My eyes squinted open swiftly at the thought of a wedding night. I didn't want anything to do with him. Was he really going to sleep with me? Of course he would, he's the man-whore! I swallowed hard as images of tonight's awaited incidence flashed through my mind. My fingers intertwined nervously as I starred into blank space.

"Listen," he began as he cleared his throat. His deep voice cut through the eerie silence making my feet quiver.

"You are to stay away from me during the time span of our marriage, we both know this isn't for love and against our will, so we will live according to each other's terms, there is nothing like intimacy or a wedding night between us, you will stay in a separate room," he stated coldly. His gaze fixed outside the window.

"I understand," I responded softly.

A warm feeling bubbled within me knowing there's nothing like intimacy nor a wedding night. Almost like he could see through my soul. Nonetheless, I couldn't care much.

After what seemed like hours of being on the road, we finally arrived at a luxurious mansion. The house was decorated as per tradition of welcoming the new couple. My eyes widened as I looked at the surrounding area. It was nothing like my home.

The entrance was adorned with a beautiful flowered fountain as roses made the paths. Stepping out of the carriage, the scenery before me was beautiful. The moon light loomed over the path as the roses basked in it's serenity. The atmosphere was surreal like that of a fairytale.

"This way," he commanded gesturing towards the steps ahead.

He had a dark unshakeable aura which surrounded him. His gaze always fierce and voice always cold. Rumors about his strict and cold behavior was definitely affirmed, but his looks were not. He's a masterpiece from heaven itself, unfortunately he's the devil's son, I didn't want anything to do with him.

The huge door in front of us swung open. A line of male maids on the left and females on the right greeted us softly in one chorus, "Welcome home Alpha and Luna."

A young maiden with dirty blonde hair approached us swiftly accompanied by a young gentleman.

"This is jade, she will be your personal servant from now," he stated without giving me a glance.

"Greetings Luna," she said kowtowing slightly.

"And this is Gabriel the butler, I'll be communicating to you through him," he stated as he gestured towards Gabriel.

Before I could ask the flooded questions in my mind, he turned his back, departing coldly. Watching his departing figure, I couldn't help but feel a bittersweet emotion.

"Luna, I'll show you to your room," Jade said softly as she gestured towards the opposite direction.

Holding my dress up slightly, I walked behind Jade as we made our way through the halls. As we walked pass, servants bowed their heads slightly showing respect. I smiled nodding my head as I followed Jade. We ascended some stairs before finally arriving at a door.

"This is your room Luna," she stated pointing at the door on my left, "And this is Alpha Lucien's room," she said gesturing at the door on my right.

Married yet sleeping opposite each other. Why should it bother me? This is what I wanted anyways.

"If you need anything, just ring the bell, I'll attend immediately," Jade said as she turned to leave.

"I do need something," I said stopping her in her tracks.

"Yes Luna, what can I help you with?" She asked.

"Can I get a cake?" I asked softly.

"A cake?" she asked with widened eyes.

"Yes, it's my birthday today," I responded forcing a smile.

My birthday, the day I was kicked out by my father and married to the devil's son. I couldn't help but wonder why he hated me so much. I was his own flesh and blood, yet he treated me like an outsider, is it because I'm a girl? Who said girls can't bring fame to their family as well. It's funny I almost forgot my own birthday. What a bittersweet experience for me.

"Happy birthday Luna. I'll get it and be back soon," she said excitedly as she departed.

Overwhelmed, I made my way into my room. Closing the door behind me, I fell to the floor as I tears flowed from my eyes in droplets. Sniffling I quickly got up cleaning my eyes as I walked towards the window. Looking at the beautiful view outside, I took in a mouthful of air as I exhaled sharply.

This is my new home now. I struggled to accept the fact that I was married. It all seemed so unreal. My mind settled my unease when I remembered my pack would be safe from attacks henceforth. Nobody would dare to wage war with he devil son's in-laws. Memories of the turmoil my father put me through flashed through my head. He gets my sister married to a happy home and I'm the one to take this punishment for the clan.

Knock!

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts.

"Come in," I responded softly.

The door creaked open as Jade made her way in with a cake and candle in hand. I thanked her, dismissing her almost immediately as I wanted to be alone.

"Happy birthday Freya Wolfson," I muttered to myself.

Taking in deep breaths, I blew out the candle. A new birth, a new life, I thought to myself.

Chapter 3 Steamy encounter

~Freya~

Feeling my eyes getting heavy, I dropped the cake on the table and made my way to the bathroom. The cold feel of the shower cascaded over me as I breath deeply.

Emerging from the shower, I towelled my hair as I slid into the silk night dress laid out on the bed by Jade. Exhaling sharply, I threw myself on the bed drifting off to a deep slumber.

...

I woke up to the chirping of birds as the sun rays which crept in through my open window doused on my face. Squinting my eyes open slowly, I stretched letting out a deep yawn.

Sitting up straight, my eyes widened at the luxurious room I found myself in. It was decorated with roses and had a very large space in the middle. I hadn't realized how soft my bed was until my hands felt it repeatedly.

I stood up amazed as I discovered my room had a beautiful balcony. Giggling, I took to my heels as I rushed towards the balcony. Looking at the beautiful view in front of me I couldn't help but laugh as I forgot my worries in a second.

I leaped around the balcony joyfully as I cheered with excitement.

"Whoo!" I screamed loudly.

I was excited as I could see the stars from my room. Star gazing has been my best thing to do as a child.

Knock!

Turning to the direction of my door, I giggled as I leaped to answer the door happily. Swinging it open, it was jade.

"Good morning Luna, I can tell you had a marvelous night," she said with a bright smile on her face.

"Yes I did, thank you," I responded softly.

She gasped as her eyes widened in amazement. I looked around to see if there was anything or anyone around, but found nothing as she starred at me blankly.

"What happened?" I asked arching a brow.

"Nothing Luna, you said thank you, so I was caught off guard," she responded bowing her head slightly.

Thank you? Are they really treated that horrible here that a thank you seems like a luxury? Besides, I thanked her for the cake last night, didn't she hear it?

"Luna, breakfast will be ready in thirty minutes. Alpha has asked you be ready and seated," she said softly as she departed.

Closing my door, I made my way to the bathroom, swiftly taking off my clothes. Scrubbing delicately, I hummed a song in the shower as the water cascaded over my body.

Emerging from the shower, I towelled my hair as I made my way to the dressing room. My eyes widened as I saw the luxurious dresses and high class jeweleries all arranged in pairs. The beautiful shoes underneath each pair glistened with jewels.

I walked around feeling each fabric and admiring the jewels paired with each. After a short while, I decided to wear the emerald green dress which was paired with red heels and red diamond jewellery.

Picking up the dress, I slid into it quickly. A frown plastered on my face as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. The gowns were quite expensive and luxurious yes, but they were old fashioned. With long sleeves and they were full length. Barely any space to breath as it was tight on the bosom, nor walk as it ckung to my skin tightly.

I took off the gown quickly as I picked a pair of scissors from the table. Placing the gown on the floor, I made a double slit on the sides and cut off the long sleeves. Picking the needle and thread, I sewed round the edges carefully as I restyled the dress.

Satisfied with my work, I slid back into the dress. Looking at the mirror, it gave me a better fitting than before. My slender legs could be seen from the side slits as the long sleeves were replaced with string hands.

Putting my shoes on, I made my way to the dining hall. The mansion was huge and I almost got lost, thankfully, the kind servant led me in the right direction.

Arriving at the dining, the scent filled my senses as I walked over. The table was set and the food was steaming. Lucien approached me swiftly from the side. He looked at me with widened eyes as he scanned my body.

Did I have an allergic reaction? I touched my face continuously as his gaze on me create bubbles of unease within me.

"What are you wearing?" He asked coldly with an arched brow.

Confused I looked down at my dress to ensure I didn't walk out of the room in my undergarments.

"A green dress," I replied sarcastically.

"I know it's a green dress, why is it exposing your skin," he asked again, the fury in his voice palpable as his gaze sharpened.

Looking at his facial expression, I could tell he was highly displeased at my outfit. I couldn't care less, he said to mind my business and he would mind his, so why does my outfit bother him?

"What's wrong with it?" I asked rolling my eyes.

He took measured steps as he approached me closing the gap between us. His hands gripped my waist as he cupped my chin compelling me to meet his gaze. His hands moved from my waist slowly to where the slit started.

My heart raced as I swallowed hard, what is he doing! I felt his fingers graze my exposed thighs softly. His feel sending an unknown sensation of heat through me as I stared, lost in his intense gaze.

He leaned in as he whispered in my ear, "Are you trying to seduce me?" He asked, his voice deep as his hot breaths grazed the back of my neck.

Hearing his words, I quickly shoved him away arranging my clothes as I glared at him, "Seduce you? Never in a million years," I responded coldly as I tossed my hair to the other side.

A dark chuckle left his lips as he approached me slowly. I unconsciously took steps backwards until I felt the cold wall behind my back. What was he going to do to me?

"The next time I see you dressed like this, I'll rip your dress apart stitch by stitch till you have nothing to wear," he said coldly.

Fear gripped me hearing his threatening words, yet I couldn't help but fantasize about him fulfilling his words on me. Giving a final glance, he scoffed in disgust as he went towards the opposite direction leaving me flustered yet bewildered.
