Chapter 1 Bastard! I'm Calling The Police!

It was late at night.

A bolt of fierce lightning flashed and lit up the whole sky.

The storm that had been brewing for the last 24 hours had finally ripped open the skies and a torrential rain lashed down, forming the backdrop for Charlotte Shao's curses.

"You bastard!

I hope you have a torturous death!"

"Remember, the name is Oliver Shen!" said the man in front of her arrogantly.

"Oliver Shen!"

Charlotte Shao was stunned momentarily. His name kept flashing in her mind like a siren. She took an oath to destroy his life.

At the police station...

The two policemen on duty were idly chatting with each other.

The door opened with a click.

They looked in the direction of the door and saw a young girl walking in shakily. She looked as delicate as a porcelain doll, but her hair and clothes were messed up as if she had been in a scuffle.

The two policemen exchanged a look with each other. Before they could inquire why she was there, she announced,

"I want to report a crime!" Charlotte Shao sat down with a frown crumpling her perfect features. Although the police station was not too far, she felt like she had walked for eternity. It was all that man's fault!

After giving her statement, Charlotte Shao collapsed on the chair. The policeman looked at her and shook his head in pity. "Do you know the man's name?" he asked.

Charlotte Shao's face darkened. The policeman had dealt with many such cases, so he comforted her. "Miss, these are necessary procedures. Please forgive me..." he explained gently.

Charlotte Shao closed her eyes and gritted her teeth. "Oliver Shen," she hissed.

The policeman almost choked. He looked at her in disbelief. "What? Say that again. What's his name?"

Another policeman, who was passing by, commented, "Miss, everything you say here will be counted as evidence in the future. Please be honest."

"It's Oliver Shen. I'll never forget that name all my life," she blurted out angrily. There was no possibility that she got it wrong.

The two policemen looked at each other incredulously.

"Go and make a phone call to corroborate!" another policeman snapped hastily.

If it was indeed Oliver Shen against whom she was filing the complaint, then there would be big trouble. Oliver Shen was the head of the Shen Group, the largest conglomerate in the country. His connections on both sides of the law made him omnipotent. How could this woman dare to provoke him?

"File the case. I'm going to sue him!" Charlotte Shao persisted, scowling at the policeman.

Seeing that the policeman didn't say anything, she criticized him. "Sir, it's said that police are there to serve the people. Are you going to file my case? Or..."

The policeman immediately replied, "Miss, we are trying to verify your story."

With a sharp nod, Charlotte Shen turned around, walked to the sofa and sat down. "Okay, I'll wait."

Chapter 2 Sue him

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, on the top floor of the Shen Group building, a tall, muscular man leaned gracefully in his chair, casually drumming his fingers on the table as he listened to his assistant's report. The gloomy sky outside the floor-to-ceiling window added to his mysterious aura.

"After the postponement of land development in the East District, many small companies that invested have suffered losses. Among these, the Shao Group, which went bankrupt, has been acquired by our company..."

"Shao Group?" he repeated as something occurred to him.

The assistant nodded slightly and was about to continue when suddenly the phone rang. She answered it. "Hello, this is the CEO's office of the Shen Group. What can I do for you?"

"Hello, there is a problem..." The man paused nervously, and then continued, "A lady called Charlotte wants to file a complaint against Mr. Shen."

The assistant's hand trembled and she couldn't breathe. She glanced at Oliver cautiously as his piercing eyes bored into her.

"What's the matter?" Oliver asked shortly.

The assistant lowered her head and relayed the message.

"Charlotte." Oliver allowed the name to wash over him. His eyes lit up and he smiled playfully. "Go get the car. I need to go out."

"Yes, sir!"

About thirty minutes later, a posh Rolls-Royce stopped in front of the police station.

Oliver stepped out of the car with the grace of a panther. His well-tailored suit accentuated his Greek-God body. He looked noble and powerful at the same time. His eyes and movements oozed contempt for all living beings.

Oliver strolled into the police station with a large group of people following him. Charlotte looked at them in confusion and surprise. She was a little intimidated to see so many people with him. She stared at Oliver, and guessed his plan, but didn't dare to voice it.

He walked in, and, as he passed Charlotte, he lowered his head and whispered in her ear, "You did a good job yesterday. Why don't we do it again sometime soon?"

His deep and sensuous voice penetrated Charlotte's soul, and immediately last night's events replayed in her mind.

She was so ashamed and angry that her face turned red. Now she was sure of his identity, and she glared at him fiercely.

Oliver smiled coolly. He didn't even look at her, pretending as if he didn't say anything and it was all in her mind.

"Mr. Shen, let's talk about this case. Here is the thing: this lady came to the police station to report a crime, and she alleged..."

"What?" he demanded.

"She said you molested her..."

"Ha-ha!" There was a dangerous undertone in Oliver's calm voice. He raised his eyebrows and looked at Charlotte, and it was a very different look from the evil expression he had on when he entered the room. "Do you have any evidence?"

Charlotte was so outraged that she clenched her fists and her nails dug into her flesh. "The evidence is written all over my body-the marks that you left on me yesterday! How dare you deny it?" She clearly remembered everything he had done. If she got a DNA test, he would certainly be thrown into jail. There would be no escape for him.

"What kind of marks did I leave on you? Why don't you take off your clothes and let me see?" He was unfazed by her. Perhaps he had already thought of an excuse, or maybe he was not afraid of her at all.

Hearing his obscene comment, almost everyone in the police station turned to look at her at the same time.

At this moment, Charlotte finally understood what it was like to be bullied by a powerful man.

Thanks to his astonishing wealth, Oliver knew that he could get out of any situation. He feared nothing.

She couldn't help trembling, not knowing whether it was because of fear or anger. But the next moment, the desperation in her eyes suddenly vanished. She stared at Oliver defiantly. She reached out to pick up the fruit knife on the table. There was a crazed look in her eyes. She was like a trapped beast left with no choice but to attempt one last strike.

"Then let's die together, you bastard!"

Charlotte hurled herself at Oliver with all her strength, aiming the knife at his neck.

"Watch out!"

No one could react in time. They were in a state of shock.

The knife stopped only an inch away from his neck.

Oliver had caught Charlotte's wrist. He felt the cold steel of the blade on his neck and his eyes darkened as he twisted her hand and held her tightly in his arms.

Chapter 3 Let's Have A Try

Charlotte's arm was numb, and the fruit knife fell from her fingers to the ground. She could feel his hot breath on her neck. It was the same as the previous night.

The last glimmer of hope was lost. Her heart was filled with despair. She cursed him violently, "Sooner or later you'll pay for what you have done, Oliver. Mark my words!"

Oliver frowned and covered her mouth with his hand. His eyes were glowing with anger like two fiery coals. "Do you think you can afford to fight me right now with your family's company going bankrupt? Why don't you just become my woman? As long as you behave well, I'll make sure you have a good future and live well."

Charlotte was so shocked to hear this that she stopped struggling.

How did he know so much about her family?

Then it hit her. The name Oliver Shen was familiar because he was the owner of the Shen Group, a well-known giant at home and abroad. She had assumed that he was just some random man with the same name. Everyone's servile attitude towards him did make her a little suspicious earlier, but now everything was crystal clear.

Never in her wildest dreams would she have imagined that she would cross paths with such a powerful man. She was shocked, and at the same time, she thought about the land development project that her father had participated in several months ago. The construction was delayed for lack of money, and the Shao Group was inexplicably trapped. They could not afford to pay back the huge debt and, as a result, it was declared bankrupt.

She had done a secret investigation, and it turned out that the land was purchased by the Shen Group.

Oliver Shen! He was her destined enemy even before they met!

Charlotte suddenly broke free from Oliver's grip and pounded the table. With a trembling but determined voice, she stated, "I want to sue him. I'm willing to undergo a physical examination and whatever else is needed for that! I don't care if it ruins my reputation in the process as long as he is thrown in prison!"

"Don't be so ungrateful!" Oliver had been very patient this whole time but he couldn't stand it anymore. He stepped forward menacingly, grabbed her wrist and leaned in dangerously close. He whispered darkly in her ear, "I gave you a chance, but you didn't cherish it. Do you actually believe that you will be able to send me to prison? It'll never happen."

With that, he dragged her to the door right in front of the shocked audience in the police station. No one dared to stop him.

It was raining heavily outside. The gray skies were shrouded in haze and the air was so stifling that one could hardly breathe.

In the elegant bedroom, a slender woman was sitting in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, wearing a simple white shirt and a short chiffon skirt. She watched the rain pouring down the glass with a vacant expression. Her thick, long eyelashes were moist, and she had a deathlike pallor. Her long hair was whipping in the wind.

Suddenly, steady, rhythmic footsteps broke the silence.

The moment she heard the sound, Charlotte's eyes widened. She jerked her head up and stared at the door, her senses on high alert. She subconsciously took a few steps back and curled up in the corner of the room.

The door of the bedroom opened and a tall figure walked in. His bottomless eyes fell on Charlotte first and then on the untouched dinner on the table. He sneered.

"Do you think it's of any use to go on a hunger strike?" he asked in a deep, magnetic voice.

His impassive tone resonated with his attitude towards her last night. She couldn't help shivering.

"What the hell do you want? Why have you brought me here and locked me up? Are you afraid that I will tell the world what you have done and ruin your company's reputation if you let me go?"

He casually locked the door and stalked towards her. He said coolly, "Afraid of you? A weak kitten?"

He looked at her the way a predator eyed its prey and laughed. Charlotte's pale face turned red with anger.

She raised her head and boldly looked him in the eye. She was trying to preserve her last shred of dignity. Gritting her teeth, she said, "Don't be so smug. As long as I'm still alive, I will make you pay for what you did to me! I will sue you and ruin your whole life!"

Finally, a hint of impatience flashed in Oliver's eyes. 'I should teach this vicious woman a lesson,' he thought to himself.
