Ironhaven Asylum.
"Your blood will make me stronger and the most powerful in the lycan world," his voice echoed relentlessly in her mind, like a chilling reminder of her fate.
Valtor's icy blue eyes locked onto hers, glowing with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine. "You're mine! No matter how hard you try, you can never escape me, Gaia." His voice was low, but it held an authority that shook her resolve.
Gaia squeezed her eyes shut, as if by doing so, she could block out the sight of him and the unsettling world she was trapped in.
This place was unlike anything she had known, the forest stretched forever in all directions, trees with grass-like bark, and leaves that had sharp teeth. Shadows in this place didn't stay still. They slithered along the ground, their shapes shifting into things that shouldn't exist.
Here, Gaia could understand the language of animals and speak to humans with claws like those of wild predators. It was a world she never wanted to experience again, yet it haunted her, dragging her back each time.
"You won't speak?" Valtor growled, his voice thick with frustration. "I want you to say something!"
Gaia shook her head, refusing to give him what he wanted.
With a furious snarl, Valtor closed the distance between them, grabbing her face roughly. His claws dug into her skin, and she winced from the sharp sting. "I am your Alpha and mate. You don't stay silent when I talk to you!" His voice was cold, each word a command.
But Gaia's frown deepened, not because of his words, she didn't fully understand them, but because of the intense threat it carried.
Valtor, with his broad shoulders and sharply defined jawline, possessed a strikingly handsome appearance. His dark hair fell in messy waves, framing a face that radiated power. His sharp features were both alluring and terrifying, especially when anger twisted them.
Seeing her defiance, he turned away, revealing the strong muscles of his back, frustration evident in his movements.
Gaia couldn't help but stare at Valtor's hard body, feeling a mix of fear and fascination. Slowly, she shifted her gaze to meet his piercing eyes when he turned to face her, something she had avoided until now. "I want you to stay away from me. I don't want to see you anymore," she declared, her voice trembling but firm.
Valtor's thin lips twisted into a sinister smile as he closed the distance between them, each step measured and predatory. "That can only happen if you tell me where you are. I've searched the entire planet for you and still can't find you. Where are you hiding?"
Gaia remained silent, a lesson she had learned in these confrontations-silence was her safest weapon.
Valtor's voice dropped into a menacing growl. "You need to tell me where you are right now!"
Despite the growing intensity of his aura, Gaia kept her lips sealed as he advanced. His eyes burned with fury, and his claws grew longer, threatening to pierce her eyeballs.
But just as the tension reached its peak, a soft voice broke through the air. "My Gaia! Mama Maggie is here to check up on you."
At the sound, Gaia's eyes fluttered open, returning to the comforting reality of her surroundings. She let out a sigh of relief, grateful for the interruption that had pulled her back from the edge of fear.
A frail woman entered the room, her sweet smile a warm contrast to the earlier tension. She carried a tray filled with a nourishing meal, its aroma inviting.
Gaia managed a weak smile as she accepted the tray from Margaret. "Thank you, Mama Maggie."
Leaning in closer, Margaret's expression shifted to one of concern as she noticed a bloodstain on Gaia's cheek. "Don't tell me you've cut yourself again, Gaia." Her voice held a gentle warning, a frown lingering on her face.
Gaia's heart sank at the thought of revealing the truth. That was Valtor's doing, she pondered, biting her lip as she smiled apologetically at Margaret.
Margaret placed the tray on Gaia's lap, her eyes softening as she sat on the edge of the bed. "You've barely eaten these days, Gaia. You need your strength, my dear."
Gaia nodded, taking a small bite, though the taste of the food barely sank in. "I'm trying, Mama Maggie. It's just... hard sometimes."
Margaret sighed and patted her hand gently. "I know, child. But you must fight through it. You're stronger than you think. Don't let whatever demons haunt you take that away."
Before Gaia could respond, a loud knock echoed through the room. The peaceful moment shattered as a group of men appeared at the door, their expressions stern and unforgiving. "Gaia," one of them said, his voice cold, "you have a visitor."
A tall, dark man in a black uniform stepped forward, his face devoid of emotion. Without a word, he roughly cuffed Gaia's slender wrists with iron shackles that clinked ominously, the weight of them sending a chill through her.
Gaia's lips curled into a sad smile, accepting the cruelty that had been her companion for so long. A life I've lived since I killed my parents... A torture I've endured for all of my seventeen years.
As the men led her down the dimly lit passage, the sounds of the asylum overwhelmed her senses. Gnashing teeth, desperate screams-it was the symphony of broken souls, each locked away in their numbered cells. The numbers seemed to be the only thing that mattered here. Names were irrelevant in this place, lost along with their humanity.
Gaia kept her head low, her mind drifting to the nightmare of her existence, wondering if escape, whether from this world or Valtor-was even possible.
She reached the office entrance, her steps faltering as a voice froze her in place.
The security officer behind her impatiently pushed the door open, forcing her forward. As she stepped inside, her gaze immediately locked onto the figure she had hoped never to see again.
Her heart dropped, and her chest tightened. Her eyes grew wide, filled with fear.
"This can't be happening to me," she whispered under her breath, her voice barely audible. Her pulse raced, her heart clenched in fear, and all the air seemed to leave the room.
Gaia took a trembling step back, her wide eyes locked onto the figure advancing towards her. Her voice broke into panic, as she screamed, "Stay away from me!" She turned to the security guards, her fear escalating, "I don't want to see him. Take me away, please....."
The guards hesitated, their eyes shifting to their superior for instructions.
The chief doctor nodded solemnly and approached the man with a measured calm. "Gaia's condition has worsened. She's not in the right state of mind to see you now. Perhaps you could return on the next visiting day."
But the man disregarded the chief entirely, his focus fixed solely on Gaia, as if nothing else in the room existed.
The guards moved swiftly, raising their batons in a show of force, while Gaia, eyes still on the stranger, inched backwards, her mind racing with something far deeper than fear.
"Hey, mister, you heard the chief," one of the guards said, stepping forward with authority, hands outstretched to block the man's path.
Chief Dan, frowned deeply, approached more cautiously. "Young man-" his voice was abruptly cut off as the stranger seized his wrist in one swift, violent motion.
A sharp, bone-chilling crack pierced the air, followed by Dan's shrill scream.
The guards froze for a split second, while Gaia's heart pounded in her chest as she pressed herself further against the wall, watching the man, unmoved by the chaos around him, step closer.
It wasn't fear that gripped her just now-it was something far more dangerous.
"Who are you? Stay back!" One of the guards shouted, his voice rough with fear, aiming his gun at the stranger.
The man strode forward, crushing his pistol in one swift move.
The guards backed away, caught in his icy, fierce stare.
Something was wrong.....
"Hand her over!" The stranger demanded, his voice a dark rasp that chilled them.
They glanced back-Gaia was gone.
The man's brow creased, a deadly aura radiating from him. In an instant, he snapped both guards' necks.
"Gaia!"
His roar echoed, shaking the hospital walls until they cracked.

A sleek black sedan crept to a halt at the entrance of Ironhaven Asylum, its dark silhouette blending with the looming gray sky. The driver stepped out, swiftly rounding the vehicle to open the passenger door. From within emerged a tall figure draped in a finely tailored black suit, his gaze sharp and calculating.
As if on cue, the sky darkened further, and rain began to pour. The driver, quick to respond, snapped open an umbrella, holding it above his boss's head with a respectful bow. The man's presence was magnetic, demanding attention.
Two rows of men clad in black stood aligned at the entrance, each bowing slightly. Their voices echoed in unison, steady and loyal, "Yes, boss!" With a nod, they strode inside.
A figure approached, his eyes narrowed and glinting like embers, a fang visible as he spoke. "Alpha Valtor," Damon's voice held a note of urgency. "One of our kind is here-a powerful one. Stronger and more...unnatural than the others."
A low growl rumbled from Valtor's chest, his eyes flashing with a cold, deadly light. "We know what he's after. Don't let him leave with her," he ordered, his voice like thunder under the falling rain.
Without hesitation, Damon nodded, his form contorting as he shifted into a dark, sleek wolf. In a blur of motion, he vanished down a narrow passage, his paws echoing softly as he disappeared into the shadows within the asylum.
The human mercenaries strode down the dim corridor toward Damon's direction, their footsteps echoing ominously. Each man was armed with wolfsbane-loaded firearms, fingers tense on the triggers, their eyes trained on the shadows ahead.
Meanwhile, Gaia dashed into her room, her monolid eyes scanning frantically for anything of importance. Her gaze landed on her necklace-her most cherished possession. She darted over, slipping it carefully around her neck, letting out a small sigh of relief.
"What have you done?" The brittle voice startled her, and she turned to see Margaret standing in the doorway, her face carved with lines of disappointment and fear, barely visible in the room's dim light.
"Mama Maggi?" Gaia whispered, stunned by the hard look in the old woman's eyes. She took a step forward, but Margaret shrank back, edging toward the wall to keep a safe distance.
"Don't touch me, Gaia!" Margaret's voice was harsh, trembling. "You've brought nothing but bloodshed and suffering to this home... our once-peaceful home."
Gaia's lip curled into a bitter smile, suppressing the urge to snap back. Home? She wanted to scoff but reminded herself this wasn't the time.
"Leave us, Gaia." Margaret's voice was firm, her gaze averted. "Leave, and don't ever return here."
Gaia inhaled deeply, a pang of sadness flickering in her eyes. She nodded, accepting the dismissal with quiet resignation, and slipped out of the room, the door closing softly behind her.
Gaia moved swiftly down the narrow corridor, her heart pounding in her chest as she clutched her necklace tightly. Shadows flickered against the walls, and the faint sound of footsteps echoed from behind. She was nearly at the exit when a hoarse voice rang out.
"Gaia..."
She froze, her breath catching as she recognized the voice. Turning slowly, she saw the man from earlier-the one who had been watching her with a dark, unreadable gaze. Panic rose within her, but she forced herself to keep moving, slipping around a corner to put more distance between them.
But as she rounded the next bend, she came to a sudden halt, dread washing over her.
Valtor stood there, blocking her path, his piercing gaze fixed on her. His presence was overwhelming, radiating an aura of lethal power. Gaia's heart skipped as he took a step forward, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. She knew she was trapped, cornered between Valtor and the man closing in from behind.
Without a word, Valtor's body began to shift, his form stretching and twisting as his human guise melted away. Gaia's eyes widened in terror, her vision blurring as she watched the monstrous transformation unfold. His limbs elongated, muscles bulging, his face contorting into something dark and feral.
Fear overtook her, her knees buckling as her vision tunneled. She stumbled back, her hand reaching out to steady herself, but it was no use. Everything faded to black as her body slumped to the ground, leaving her unconscious at the feet of her would-be protector-or destroyer.
Gaia's body hit the ground with a soft thud, her eyes fluttering shut as she lay motionless at Valtor's feet. He barely spared her a glance, his attention already on the man stepping forward from the shadows-a figure almost as tall and imposing as Valtor himself, with a hardened glare that spoke of countless battles.
"Well, well, Valtor," the man sneered, circling slowly. "Never thought I'd see the day you'd stoop to guarding a mere human. Or is she?"
Valtor's lips twisted into a dangerous smirk, his eyes gleaming with a cold, lethal light. "You speak as if you understand the stakes here," he replied, his voice dripping with contempt. "But I wouldn't expect a half-breed like you to understand loyalty."
The man let out a low growl, his fists clenching. "Loyalty? Is that what you call it?" He laughed bitterly. "Or are you just afraid? Afraid of what I could do if I take her from you?"
Valtor's form shuddered, beginning to shift, his claws lengthening as his features took on a more feral edge. "Afraid? No," he snarled, eyes narrowing. "But I'd be a fool to let you leave here alive."
The intruder bared his teeth, his own body crackling with barely restrained energy as he prepared to shift. "Then let's see if your bark is as strong as your bite, Alpha," he taunted, his voice thick with challenge. "And I'll be sure to send your regards to your precious pack when I take them down next."
The threat was enough to tip Valtor over the edge. He lunged forward, his form fully transformed, an enormous white wolf with gleaming fangs and eyes blazing with fury. The two wolves collided with a powerful snarl, claws flashing as they tore into each other, the sound of ripping flesh and growls echoing through the dark halls.
And in the chaos, Gaia lay still on the cold ground, unaware of the battle raging just inches away.
"You don't understand who she is, do you? Or the power she carries?" The intruder's voice was rough, tinged with weariness and desperation.
Valtor's eyes blazed with fury as he took a step forward. "Her fate was written long before you and I. Lay a hand on her, and you'll bring ruin upon us all."
The intruder spat blood onto the floor, his breathing heavy but unyielding. "The prophecy marked her, endowed her with a rare power, and your kind has hunted her bloodline ever since-just to prevent what she was born to do. Let her go with me," he rasped, defiance flickering in his eyes.
Valtor narrowed his gaze, sensing a note of mischief. "Are you no longer one of us?"
A harsh chuckle escaped the intruder, his lips curling into a bitter smile. "I thought you were sharper than that, Alpha Valtor. Her bloodline alone has the strength to stand against us-against your kind. It's no coincidence she's still alive."
Valtor's suspicion deepened, memories of whispered rumors circling back to him. Dark magic, they said, twisted and forbidden, that some of their kind used to gain strange power. He scanned the intruder's form, noting the unnatural gleam in his eyes, the faint aura of something... tainted.
The intruder met Valtor's gaze with a glint of satisfaction. "Surprised, Alpha? The darkness our kind wields has its own price."
Valtor's expression hardened. "I'll protect her," he thundered, casting a glance down at Gaia, the young girl lying motionless on the ground. For the first time, he felt a sense of awe at the power hidden within her small, fragile frame. "Even if it means killing every one of your kind."
The intruder's eyes narrowed, his posture tense and for a heartbeat, silence filled the air-a silence charged with a promise of a bloody battle.
The intruder's lips curled into a cold smirk, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light. "You're not strong enough to protect her, Valtor. You may try, but you'll only delay the inevitable."
Valtor's voice was steel. "I'm more than enough for you. And I'll rip apart anyone who thinks otherwise."
The intruder chuckled darkly, his voice a low growl. "Then let's see what that bravado is worth."
In an instant, his canines elongated, sharper and longer than those of a typical werewolf.
With a fierce snarl, he lunged at Valtor, their bodies colliding with a force that sent shockwaves through the room. They grappled in a deadly clash, claws tearing, jaws snapping as they each fought for dominance.
The sound of snarls and ripping fabric echoed as Valtor countered each vicious strike, his strength unwavering.
As they faced off, Damon appeared from the shadows, his sharp eyes scanning the room. Behind him, a group of human mercenaries strode in, their wolfsbane firearms glinting ominously in the dim light. The atmosphere thickened with tension.
Amidst the struggle, a sudden silence fell.
Gaia was standing, her eyes shut tight, her small frame somehow radiating an eerie, powerful energy. As if sensing her presence, both men paused, but Valtor's gaze was protective.
Gaia's eyes opened slowly, her stares sharp and fixed directly on the intruder, "You think I'm powerless?" She stepped forward, her eyes blazing. "I don't need to run away from the likes of you."
The intruder sneered, but surprise flashed in his eyes. With a swift, unexpected move, Gaia lunged, clawing across his face and knocking him back.
"Alpha, watch out!" Damon shouted, his voice urgent when he noticed the intruder's movements.
But it was too late. The intruder retaliated, plunging his extended fangs into Valtor's arm in one last act of defiance.
"Damn it!" Valtor growled, staggering back as the intruder vanished, in a wisp of dark smoke leaving behind only a faint echo of bitter laughter.
"Go after him!" Damon commanded the mercenaries, his tone sharp and urgent. They hesitated, uncertain of the supernatural forces at play.
Damon shot a glance at Valtor, surprised by the sudden strange turn of events, but then turned his attention back to the fading dark mist. "We can't let him escape. He knows too much."
Gaia swayed as her strength faded, collapsing into Valtor's arms.
As Valtor caught Gaia in his arms, a chilling realization gripped him. The threat was far from over. They were only just beginning to uncover the dark forces at play.
