Horrid Vacation

PROLOGUE

"Hey Jeremy, get your ass off there, we will be living soon, the lorry is here" Jenny screamed as she kick the dust off her feet

"I'm coming, I went to get some toys for Billie" Jeremy yelled referring to his little dog. They are actually preparing to go on a journey to their Grandpa's little cottage, just at the eastern part of Eulauf, a quiet and lovely place to have a vacation and Christmas Eve.

Eight years Jeremy has always longed to visit his grandpa's cottage. Ever since his father died, when he was still little; Christmas hasn't been that enjoyable. His mom only takes him and his sister to a cinema on Christmas Eve, and also goes to a small catholic church, just a mile from their house; for a morning service. Boring right? Yea..

On their arrival, they will have their own little feast, play games and watch TV. No visiting of friends, relative or neighbours, no going to the park for a ride on merry go round, no tour and not even a few days vacation. Well, he became a bit delighted when his mum told him about her sudden arrangement to visit grandpa's cottage. Enrage with delightment, he went ahead and told his schoolmates about it, stating a lot of exciting moment he will experience at the cottage.

"Really, Jeremy, your Pa's cottage is in the eastern part of the city, that place is damn boring, it's a country side" Tom, an annoying classmate said to him

"It's not that boring, my pa has a large farm where he rear livestocks. I will get to meet them; he will also take me on a ride in his car. Jenny told me he also has a horse" he will say with glees while they will stare scornfully at him

"Anyways, spend your Christmas eve the way you want it dummy; riding on your Pa's old ass. As for me, my dad is taking me to France for the holiday...get us lots of gist when you get back from that old cottage of yours" Tim, tom's twin, mocked, as the others laughs hard before walking away

"Remember the write up miss Jean asked us to write when school resumes, try to get an ugly adventure to write down okay..." Tom yelled from afar

Yea, he can't just be among their crew, no one wanna be his friend. They see him as a nerd who doesn't travel on vacations. Perhaps the little adventure he will experience at his Pa's cottage will make his write up interesting.

"Miss Jean will be proud of me, I will write about how I spent my Christmas holiday in my Pa's cottage, it will not be a fiction this time" he thought hopefully

"This is surely gonna be a good adventure..........

Chapter one

Jeremy POV

The ride to Pa's cottage was kind of silent. Mum was reading some articles on her favourite magazine while Jenny kept caressing her little doll.

I just cast my view outside the window, staring at beautiful trees and houses; also listening to the soft music played on the radio; Heal the world by Michael Jackson, yea my favourite artist. Billie made a quaky howl from the back of the lorry; this made me felt pity for him

"Mum...can we get Billie and bring him here, the sun is scorching him over here" I pleaded

"Come on baby, it's just a dog, whereas Pa's cottage is not more than a few miles away, let him still be there" Mum muttered, not taking her glance away from the magazine

"But mum...." I whined

"Come on Jeremy, this place is barely enough for us and you still wanna bring in a dog to inconvenient us" Jenny sparked

"But you are with your doll, why didn't you leave it in the trunk" I snapped

"Cos it's not a dog" she seethed

"You are annoying"

"Remember that I'm older that you dimwit"

"You are just twelve, idiot" I barked

"You are nothing but an eight year old boy, who is a dummy pet lover"

"Mum...can you hear what Jenny called me" I screamed, already at the verge of tears

"Enough kids, let's continue our ride in peace, when we get to...harrghhrr...watch out!!!" Mum screamed at the driver, who halted the lorry abruptly

"Oh!!!No, did I hit her" the lorry driver gasped and got down, followed by mum, Jenny and lastly me.

"She is just a little girl, awwwnn, I guess you hit her a little" Mum said, referring to the little village girl, sprawled on the ground in front of our lorry. She seems to have crossed the path without looking and got hit by the lorry.

"What are we gonna do now mum" I asked

"Are we gonna leave her here" Jenny chipped in

"Hmm, no we can't, she is coming with us. At least, let's get her to wake up and get a better treatment, she might be able to find her way after that" Mum stated, as she tried to lift the body of the fainted girl of the ground, with the aid of the lorry driver.

"But mum, we doing know she is, how are we just gonna take her with us" jenny grumbled

"Can't you see, she is hurt" Mum whispered, pointing to her bleeding knee

"And we are responsible for it"

"It's not our fault, she wasn't looking her way. What if she is a bad person, she might hurt us" jenny cried out, staring at the girl's body, which was placed in the lorry

"She is just a girl, come in kids" Mum muttered. We got in and the engaging was ignited

"Mum....." I called

"Yes baby"

"What if she is a witch, look at her hair" I whispered, mum chuckled loudly

"Why the wild thought darling, perhaps she is homeless, that's why she is looking this way. She is not a witch okay" She said and patted my hair, I shrug

"Hunn, now we are super tight here, this girl has taken up my space" Jenny growled

"Well good for you, you never wanted me to bring Billie here at first" I resorted, sticking out my tongue in mockery

"Fuck you asshole" She gritted

"Bitch" I muttered under my breath and stared at the strange girl. I noticed her eyes fluttered a bit, she opened one eye and winked at me, wearing a big mischievous smirk.

"Hi, what's your name" she asked smiling

"My name is Jeremy" I returned the smile

"Is it my ears, or do you suddenly start talking to yourself? For Christ sake who asked of your name" Jenny asked

"Me...didn't you hear" I glance back at the girl, but she was just the way she was. Her eyes were closed and she looks stiff. But she spoke to me just now, or was I hallucinating. Mum and Jenny kept staring at me, waiting for a reply, but I was baffled beyond words, is it that they didn't see or hear when she spoke, this is weird, I thought

"Erm, nothing, I was just practicing a simple introduction. I might meet new friends over there in Pa's cottage" I muttered with a weary smile, jenny scoffs

"Only Grand pa and Grandma lives there, and whereas who will wanna become friends with you" she cracked

I don't even have the time to reply her, my mind is clouded with the thought of the strange girl. Am I really gonna spend this Christmas, together with this strange girl

"Huunn, this is gonna be a long Christmas" I yawned

"Yea baby" Mum said

"Hmm, wish she knows what I'm talking about...

Getting to Pa's cottage, the lorry stopped abruptly in front of the house, as it made a weary sound.

"Hunh, I hate this lorry, it's too old" Jenny scoffs earning a hard glare from the lorry driver, as he opens the door

"It might be old but it's still active" said the lorry driver

"Whatever" Jenny grunted, picking her doll as she jumped down with the others

"Mum, are we gonna leave her in the car" Jeremy asked, staring at the girl

"No baby, we are...." She muttered

"Oh my God!! They are here already, hurry up Mabel, go bring in their luggage" grandma said as she walked briskly towards the lorry

"Grandma!!! Jenny and Jeremy yelled at the same time, running to hug her

"Hey children, you won't wanna injure granny, be gentle" their mum yelled, while they giggled, granny chuckled

"Oh my babies are looking so cute and grown up" She smiled and pecked their cheeks

"Granny, you look beautiful too" Jeremy said

"Yea, just like me" Jenny winked, wriggling her brow

"Huhn, ugly bitch, you look like a Bilie's poop" Jeremy snapped, glaring at her

"Shut up dimwit, you are as ugly as the devil...idiot" she snapped back

"Come on darlings, you both are my cutie pies. Wanna hear something nice?" she asked, they nodded

"Well granny prepared your favourite dish, come, come, let's go in...oh my..who is she..what happened" she muttered, sighting the lorry driver who is bringing in the injured girl

"She was hit, she needed to be treated" their mum said

"Oh my...bring her in, Mabel, go call the village physician, someone is injured here" granny yelled at their maid, who hurriedly went on the errand. The girl was brought in and placed on a neatly arranged bed as they tried to stop her bleeding.

"Take this and place it on her knee, it will help stop the bleeding before the doctor arrives" Granny said, giving a lead to their mum as she did exactly what is required

"Granny, where is grandpa" Jeremy asked with arched brow

"Oh, he went to check on one of his farms, he got lots of birds for his poultry farm today, he went to supervise the delivery"

"Ok, I will like to see his farm someday" he mumbled

"Sure you will darling" she chuckled, immediately Jenny's stomach growled

"Ahnn, I'm damn hungry, I could eat a buffalo right now" She yawned as they all laughed.

The strange girl flicker her eyes open, stared at them all and smiled inwardly. She shut them back without their notice.

Chapter Two

Jenny POV

After all the merriment, mum decided to take a nap, same as granny and Pa. Jeremy was busy playing in the courtyard with his nasty dog, Billie.

I felt a bit bored, playing with my doll, so I decided to take a walk round the cottage. Getting out of my room, I sighted the strange girl, lying quietly on the bed she was laid on, in her room just close to Jeremy's

"Well going to check on her won't cause any harm right" I thought, entering the room,. I noticed her bandaged knee, yea, the doctor came a while ago

"Hmm....what a strange girl" I mumbled. Turning to leave, I noticed a slight movement as her eyes fluttered open and sparkled in a second before becoming normal

"Oh my God, she is awake" I gasp

"Hey...Hi...what's your name" I asked, but she didn't blink at all, not to talk of giving me a reply

"O..kkkay..i believe you can't talk right..huhn..Cat got your tongue" I snapped but she didn't move an inch

"Hmmm..weird...anyway.. I'm jenny dimwit, and you know what, I don't like you, get well soon and fuck the hell outta here" I yelled and turned to leave.

But I felt a grip on my wrist; it was cold as ice and hot at the same time. In panic, I turned swiftly to face her.

She looks different this time, not the little innocent girl our lorry driver hit, but a freaky white, paled skin, sharp fangs, blaze eyes looking beast. Her hair was scattered and a stream of blood gush down her mouth, with sharp claws piercing into my skinny skin.

A heavy ice berg rolled down my spine at the sight of this hideous beast, I remembered the movie I watched some time ago. She looks just like them....Vampires!!!

"Harrghhh" screamed out my lungs, trying to free my hand of her grip

"Haahaaaa" She laughs

"You wanna know my name...its Mohini"

"Haarrgggg...help!!! Granny..mum!!!"

Wake up!! Wake up" Jeremy yelled and spanks my butt

"What sort of nightmare were you having, you wanna bring this building down with your scream?" He yelled

"Shut up idiot...she is evil..evil" I yelled, as mum ran into the room

"Baby, what's wrong, you screamed" she said, hugs me and patted my hair

"No no..it's the strange girl, she is evil mum, she,,,she tried to kill me" I cried out

"Hmmm, come here dear, she is not okay...It's just a dream, don't panic. Anyway she is awake now; you can go and see her. She is just your age, such a sweet girl, she is not evil okay" Mum smiled

"Huuhnn...awake??" I asked, still recollecting the dream, panicking

"Yea she is, and she has a strange name. Her name is Mohini" Jeremy smiled, as my heart skip a beat

"Oh no no..this is not happening...

*Dinner Time*

Rice and meat balls were served for dinner as the whole family gather to eat at the dining table.

The strange girl was not exempted; she was served her own dish as she hungrily devour it, not giving it a breathing space. She ate keenly not minding the different glares she was receiving

"Erm...eat gently dear, the food isn't running away" Granny muttered patting her hair, as Pa chuckled. Jenny kept giving her hard glares as she picks on her food. The scary dream kept replying in her mind. She can't believe she is eating with the devil that almost killed her in her dream.

"Gosh" she scoffs

"What is wrong Jenny, you have been picking on your food, ain't you gonna eat, or don't you like the food" Mum grouse

"It's not the food..well I lost my appetite" she yelled, glaring at the strange girl., this caught her mum's attention

"Come on baby, I thought we were over this, why the attitude" she grimace

"What's wrong sweetie" Pa muttered

"I will tell you Pa, jenny doesn't like Mohini. She told me that she is a vampire" Jeremy said, as the fork fell off Mohini's hand, shocked with eyes popped out. Why the hell will she call me such, she thought

"Jeez, that's harsh. Why will you call her that, she is barely a day here with us" Granny resorted. They heard a silent sobs, tears were streaming down Mohini's eyes

"Please don't send me away; I'm not a bad person. I'm just a little girl who is trying to escape the wrath of her step mother.

My parents are both dead, living me to live with my scary stepmother who derives joy in seeing me suffer. She punish me for the slightest thing" She wiped her tears and continued her story, everyone's attention was on her as they listen with open ears, every word that comes out of her mouth.

"She vowed to kill me and use my flesh for dinner on Christmas day, and trust my step mother, she always keeps to her words. I don't wish to die now, so I ran away from home...and ermmm, I found myself here" she whispered the last part

"Hmmm, you were knocked down by our lorry, sorry about that" Mum said

"Don't worry dear; you are free to stay here for now until you recover. We will sort out how to speak to your step mother later okay" granny stated, while she nodded pouting

"She is lying,,,,don't believe her" Jenny subconscious stated, while she shrug it off

"Pa...how was today's work, couldn't ask when you arrive earlier" their mum asked, changing the topic

"Oh work was fine, lots of chicken and turkeys were delivered from the Feeds warehouse" Pa replied as Mohini's eyes glinted. She seems interested in knowing more about the poultry.

"Hmmm, he might be there..i must check out that poultry farm myself" She thought, smiling. Her eyes caught up abruptly with that of Jenny, she grinned and gave her a warning glare

"Bitch" jenny muttered under her breathe

"She pretends to be nice but she is a witch" she whispered to Jeremy, whose seat is closer to hers, he shrug

"Hmm..she doesn't look like a witch to me, but you look more of a witch jenny" Jeremy chuckled. She almost spanks him but doesn't want to create a scenario. The adult were so engross n their talk, oblivious of what the children were doing.

"Poor Jenny, I wonder why she hates me so much, well she won't be an obstacle" Mohini muttered, as she glance at the siblings, whispering to each other

"It's time for you to strike Mohini, he is close by" said an unknown voice to her.

*AT MID NIGHT*

It was horrid outside the cottage. A great pile of snow filled the ground creating a chilly atmosphere. Everyone was stuck inside their rooms, only the crackling of the fire in the fire place, could be heard and the whistling sound made by the wind.

Jeremy's door cracked open as a chilly wind blew across his face making him to shiver. The wind blew hard, making the door bang severally before giving it access into the room, changing its atmosphere; from warm and cozy to cold and chilly.

"Huahhh" He yawned drowsily as he stirred on his bed, trying to cover himself with the blanket. The bang of the door made him to jerk up, realizing the state of his room.

"Oh no!! Who opened the door" he yawned, getting down from the bed

"Mum??? Jenny?? Who the hell is there? But I locked the door before sleeping,,,hmm, strange" he mumbled, going to close it. Holding the knob, he peeped outside and caught a glimpse of someone, standing close to the garden

"Wait a minute, is that Jenny, what will she be doing outside at this time of ,,,oh no, that cants be Jenny" he said

"Jenny is scared of the dark, gosh it's the strange girl" he gaps, stepping out of the room, and striding into the compound, in order to have a better view of what she's up to

"Mohimi,,,,,what,,,,are,,,Jesus!!!!" He screamed sighting her bloody hands. She turned swiftly at him, with eyes beaming out in the dark. He tried taking on his heels but was too late; she got a hold of his leg making him stumble on the snow.

"No No, leave me alone, Mum!!!" He yelled

"Shhh, Jeremy, Hey ,Shhhhhh,,,I mean no harm. Look at me" Mohini pleaded

"No,,,,,don't touch me freak,,,you are a fucking vampire just like Jenny predicted....don't bite me, haarrgghh" He screamed

Chapter Three

Jeremy POV

"Arise and shine!!!" Jenny yelled as she barged into my room. She opened the drapes and a ray of light beams into the room

"Arrggh, is it morning already. I still wanna sleep" I mumbled

"Get your ass off that bed idiot, Pa is gonna take us for a ride" she snapped

"What!!!Really!!" I jerked off the bed, trying to get down when a sudden pain struck my left arm

"Oh my gosh, Jeremy, how did you get that scratch on your arm" she asked, pointing to my arm as she comes closer. I gulped down nothing as last night event suddenly hit me

"Last night....I"

"You what???" She asked, staring intently at me

"I did not sleep in this room last night, how did I get back here" I pondered, she glared at me

"Stop making me scared Jeremy, you slept here last night and you know that. Just admit the fact that you injured yourself and do not want mum to find out about it, anyway I'm off" she got down from the bed and went for the door

"Wait,,,I think I remember something" I cooed, she faced me, folding her arms

"It's about last night" I chipped in

"Come on Jeremy.,,,," She groan

"Please just listen" I pleaded, she came back to the bed

FLASH BACK

"No,,,,,don't touch me freak,,,you are a fucking vampire just like Jenny predicted....don't bite me, haarrgghh" He screamed

"Shut up dimwit, you are bleeding already" mohini muttered. I looked at my left arm and noticed a scratch, perhaps from her nails. I struggled to get up, but she pinned me down, she seem stronger

"Don't get up,,,,just look at me,,hey" she whispered

"No No, I want to go, leave me alone,,,witch" I struggled and stared into her eyes. She was above me, as hey eyes glows in the dark....

END OF FLASHBACK

"And that's all I can remember, I did not come back to my room myself" I explained

"Hmmm, so you want me to believe all that you said, are you saying that she brought you back into this room"

"Yea she did, perhaps she compelled, me to sleep and brought me in" I replied

"Hmm, remember the dream I told you about"

"Yea, that's she became a vampire?"

"Sure, perhaps what you had was just a dream that looks like reality "

"But,,,,,,,"

"No buts...!!!" she yelled

"Just cover up that scratch, you won't want mum to see...."

"Bangrrg" the door open revealing Mohini; standing at the door post. Staring intently at us, she muttered in a softest voice

"Mum seeks your presence in the living room"

"Ok....we will be there" Jenny cooed. I noticed a little shake in her voice, but she tried to stay calm.

Deep down, I know that she is scared. Mohini glared at me, making me gulp down my saliva, then left. Jenny might not believe me, but what happened last night wasn't a dream. I'm gonna tell mum about this.

Outside the cottage, we both waited patiently for Pa to bring his old car out of the garage. Mum came out of the house along with Mohini, she seem dressed too.

"Wait a sec, is that witch tagging along with us" Jenny flared, anger clearly written on her face

"Perhaps, but I ain't in support of that thought" I exclaimed. Jenny scoffs as they came closer. Pa already brought out the car, beckoning on us to come in

"Ok sweeties, enjoy your ride" Mum said

"Come on mum, is she coming with us" Jenny asked

"Sure, you got a problem with that"

"Yea, I got a lot of problem with it, she ain't coming with us" Jenny grimace

"Baby, you can't say that. Mohini is a bit lonely here, she only wanna tag along and receive some fresh air" Mum explained

"But mum...."

"No buts, go into the car mohini, and try not to get into a fight with them"

"Yes mum" Mohini muttered, smiling as she leaped into the car. Her leg was still bandaged, but she seems to walk well last night, she charged at me without leaping at all. Mennn fuck this...

"Hey" Mohini muttered. We are already in the car, heading to the farm. We both stared at her, not giving her a reply

"I know that you both see me as a witch, but I'm not; just a normal kid like you" she stated; still no response. We were both scared to speak, but I decided to take the bold step

"About last night" I muttered

"I can't talk about it, sorry about your arm, it wasn't intentional"

"And about the dream I had" jenny chipped in

"What dream" Mohini frown

"Wait...do you wanna deny the fact that you almost killed me in my dream" she yelled

"That was your mind playing some tricks on you, not my doing"

"Mohini, who the hell are you and what do you want from us" I asked, she arched her brow

"I'm on a mission" She splurted

"But you told us that you are homeless" jenny brawled

"Pa, can you hear that, this girl is an impostor" she yelled but got no reply. We checked the driver's seat but couldn't find Pa, and the car was still on motion; racing more swiftly than before.

It started heading into the woods, leaving the path we were taking at first.

Mohini doesn't seem bothered by the strange thing happening, she was comfortably seated at the back seat while we scream out lungs, calling for help.

"Where that hell did you take Pa to, we are gonna get an accident" Jenny yelled, as we sighted a big tree a mile ahead of us

"Fuck the hell Mohini, bring back Pa, you witch, Harrgggghhh, stop the car" I screamed

"Don't panic, you will be fine. I need you both for this mission; I can't do anything without your help"

"What fucking mission is that" Jenny yelled, as we stumbled to the front, smashing our head on the window, as the car swayed along

"Just be calm" She uttered, and immediately, the car stopped in front of the tree, and everything went black

Jenny POV

I flickered my eyes open and gaze at my current environment. I noticed that I couldn't move my hands and feet, it was tied to the chair I was sitting on.

I seem to be in an unknown shabby house, made of wood but pleasant and warm. The room was a bit dark but lightened up by candles fire, with crackling sounds made by the fire in the fire place.

I could hear something steaming and a nice smell filled my nostril, smells like coffee.

"Where am I" I thought, trying to loosen the ropes with my teeth

"Jenny????" I heard a voice called, sounds like Jeremy's

"Jenny, are you there"

"Jeremy??" I whispered, sighting him, sitting in the same position; tied to a chair mot far from mine

"Hey, where are we, how did we get here" I muttered, he shrug

"I'm as confused as you are"

"Where is Mohini?"

"I'm here" A voice said, but it doesn't sound like Mohini's voice. It sounds like that of a lady, not a girl. We heard footsteps, heading towards us, and a shadow appeared at the door.

I gulped down nothing and stared at Jeremy who was shuddering in fright, what could that be, I thought. The door area seems dark and the figure looks huge; it later became smaller as it walks further into the room.

Standing in front of us is a pretty young lady who has a slight resemblance with Mohini; perhaps her mum, I thought

"Who are you" I stammered, she furrowed her brow

"Do you have a short memory" she asked

"Mo...hi...ni....???" Jeremy muttered, wearing a surprise look

"Yes it's me, surprised?" she chuckled, going towards the bed and sat on it.

"But...but...how did you" I shuttered

"How did I grow up so fast, huh," she smirked

"Yea, how" Jeremy asked

"Hmmmm, long story kids, but I'm gonna cut it short...." She exclaimed, staring at each of us as we waited patiently to hear her out.

"I'm not human, I'm a fairy" she dropped the bomb shell

"What!!!!" we both exclaimed
