Chapter 1 How Can I Be Pregnant

"Miss Reed, congratulations! You are pregnant," the doctor said, handing the test results to the woman sitting across from her.

"What?" Rose stared at the doctor in shock.

She waved her hand dismissively and said, "Doctor, there must be a mistake with the results! How...? How can I be pregnant? I came here because I've been feeling a little weak these past few days. I'm not pregnant! How can that be?"

"Miss Reed, I've been a doctor for fifteen years, and I don't make mistakes in tests. You are indeed pregnant. The weakness you've been feeling is due to early pregnancy symptoms-you're one month along."

Rose stared at the test results in her hand, which confirmed she was one month pregnant. She was in a daze.

She couldn't believe it.

'How can I be pregnant?' she thought. 'Was it because of that dream? Could someone get pregnant just from having sex in a dream?'

If anyone knew her thoughts, they might think she had mental problems, but that wasn't the case!

The reason she thought this way was simple: she had never been with anyone. She had no man in her life, no romantic encounters, nothing. So... how could she be pregnant?

But looking at the test results, she couldn't deny it.

Even though the idea was ridiculous and without any scientific explanation, she couldn't think of any other reason...

Rose walked out of the doctor's office in a daze.

Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the couple walking toward her and accidentally bumped into them, causing the reports in her hand to fall to the floor.

"Oh! I'm so sorry... I didn't see-" she quickly apologized and bent down to pick up the reports, but the other person had already grabbed them.

"Thank..." Rose started to thank that person, but her words caught in her throat when she saw who it was... Her face turned cold as her eyes narrowed.

Looking at the couple standing in front of her, she had only one thought: 'Enemies are bound to meet on narrow paths.'

Not long ago, the two people standing before her had been the most important in her life. Now, just one look at them made her feel disgusted.

"Rose... you're pregnant?!" The woman, who had picked up the report, looked at her in surprise.

It was like she was very shocked...

However, there was a faint, inexplicable joy on her face, though she pretended to appear concerned.

Rose took the test results from her hand and replied coldly, "Nancy Wilson, I don't think this has anything to do with you."

Her voice was sharp and indifferent.

Looking at the woman in front of her, Rose wondered how she had ever considered her a friend. She must have been a fool in the past.

Nancy, however, ignored the coldness in Rose's tone and continued, "Rose, how could you do something like this? James still can't stop thinking about you! How could you cheat on him like this?"

"Hahaha!"

Rose couldn't help but laugh out loud at Nancy's words.

She found her utterly ridiculous.

"What did you just say? That I cheated on him? And... that he still loves me?" Rose couldn't help but ask in a mocking tone...

"You said he can't stop thinking about me, right? Then was he thinking about me when he was having sex with you in the library behind my back? Was he not the one who betrayed me with my so-called best friend?"

"Rose! How can you blame James? It's my fault-I fell in love with him and couldn't control my feelings. He's innocent," Nancy said, wiping away fake tears.

"Nancy, you don't need to talk to such a b*tch or cry," James said, pulling Nancy into his arms like she was some kind of treasure.

Then he turned to Rose, "Are you not just pretending to be pure and innocent? If you're so good, then how did you get pregnant? Aren't you ashamed?" His tone full of mockery and disgust.

"Why should I feel ashamed? Getting pregnant isn't something shameful. Besides, I'm an adult and single, so I don't see any problem with it," Rose replied coldly.

Even though she didn't know how she got pregnant, that wasn't the point.

She looked at the couple in front of her and added, "At least I'm better than people who betray others behind their backs."

Rose's gaze hardened as she looked at them. She felt nothing but disgust. She had never seen anyone so shameless!

Two months ago, this man was her boyfriend, and the woman was her best friend.

Back then, James had pursued her crazily! Their love had been so intense that they were called the best couple on campus. But one day, James's so-called love vanished into thin air, and he dumped her.

The reason? She had refused to sleep with him before marriage.

From that moment, Rose learned one thing very clearly: men CAN'T be trusted. They were just animals who used their lower bodies to think!

Chapter 2 Is That Child Mine

"Rose! How was your report? What did the doctor say?"

As they were talking, a middle-aged woman walked out of the ward behind them and called out to Rose.

Her voice was filled with concern and love.

That woman was Grace Reed, Rose's mother. For the past few days, she had noticed that Rose wasn't feeling well, her face also pale and weak. She had insisted Rose go for a check-up.

Grace knew her daughter had been working hard to support the family and pay for her father's medical expenses. After their business failed, her husband had developed a heart condition and stayed in the hospital..

As a housewife with no job, Grace couldn't help financially, and seeing her daughter bearing so much responsibility broke her heart...

Now, knowing that Rose had gone for a check-up, Grace had been waiting for her in her husband's ward. But after waiting for so long without seeing her return, she decided to go look for her.

Rose saw her mother and immediately adjusted the cold expression on her face. She didn't want her mother to worry.

However, before Rose could reply, Nancy, who was still standing beside her, spoke first!

"Hello, Auntie! I came to visit Uncle. How is he doing?"

Rose hadn't told her mother about cutting ties with Nancy. That's why her mother still didn't know about her true colors. Nor had she shared the truth about how Nancy and James had betrayed her. So Grace still believed Nancy was her daughter's best friend...

"He's fine. It's nice of you to come," Grace replied gently.

Nancy paused for a while, then a sly smile playing on her lips, before speaking again.

"Auntie, I know it must be also shocking for you to hear that Rose is pregnant before marriage! I tried to stop her from going to those kinds of places. They're not safe, but..."

She trailed off, her words deliberately ambiguous.

Her insinuation made it sound like Rose had been engaging in inappropriate behavior.

Grace froze in shock. "Rose... what is she talking about? Are you... Are you pregnant?"

Nancy glanced at Rose, a triumphant smile spreading across her face.

Rose knew Nancy was deliberately stirring up trouble to scare her mother. She was so angry that she wanted to curse her when a deep, commanding male voice interrupted.

A man stepped forward, took the test results from Rose's hand, and looked at the time of pregnancy on the report and asked,

"Is this child mine?"

Rose turned around and froze in shock when she saw the man standing before her.

His face was flawless, sharp features that looked as if they'd been sculpted by a master artist. His deep blue eyes were like an endless ocean-impossible to see through.

He was tall, about 1.88 meters, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit and crisp white shirt. The clothes hugged his broad shoulders and narrow waist, highlighting his athletic frame.

There was also some kind of intimidating aura around him, one that made people instinctively afraid of him and want to stay away from him...

But none of that was why Rose was shocked...

She was stunned because the man in front of her looked exactly like the one she had sex in her dream...

Unable to stop herself, she asked, "That night... was it not a dream?"

The reason she had thought that night was a dream was simple-she couldn't believe a man this perfect actually existed in the world!

But now, seeing such a perfect-looking tall man with a well-toned body standing in front of her, Rose's mind raced. "So it wasn't a dream after all... This man is real!"

Suddenly, the temperature around her seemed to drop. A chill ran down her spine.

She looked at the man again, only to see his blue eyes turn icy. He looked furious, his gaze as cold as a winter storm.

It felt like he was going to devour her whole.

Rose shivered, unsure why he was so angry.

***

Kevin stared at the woman in front of him, his eyes dark and stormy. His heart churned with frustration. He felt very angry...

That had been his first time, yet this woman thought it was just a dream!

His anger boiled over, but he had no idea how to release it.

"Ahhh!"

Rose suddenly screamed

Because she was suddenly lifted by the man and he carried her in his arms.

She was so startled that she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, afraid of falling.

"What... what are you doing?" she stammered, her voice trembling.

She felt a strange fear. She couldn't understand what this man was trying to do.

Rose squirmed and tried to free herself, but it was like struggling against a mountain-he didn't budge.

Kevin ignored her protests and carried her out of the hallway.

Everything happened so quickly that Grace, who had been standing nearby, didn't have time to react.

But when she saw a strange man carry her daughter away, she snapped out of her daze. She was worried about Rose and chased after them anxiously...

"Stop! What are you doing? Where are you taking my daughter?"

She shouted from behind.

But the man didn't even glance back.

It was as if he hadn't heard her at all.

Chapter 3 I Help You Remember It

Kevin directly took Rose into his car and put her inside. He also got in and closed the door.

Rose was locked up in such a small space with this man. She couldn't help but move backward... However, she barely moved before her back pressed against the car door.

She reached for the handle but found that it was locked.

Rose looked at the man in front of her, unsure of what he intended. The intimidating aura around him made her feel a little bit uneasy...

Despite her fear, she tried her best to appear calm and not show her nervousness...

"You... What do you want? What are you trying to do? Why did you bring me here? Open the door! I need to go..." she demanded, her voice trembling slightly.

The man in front of her simply stared at her. His deep blue eyes were fixed on her, unreadable. Rose couldn't discern his thoughts, but his intense gaze made her very uncomfortable, as if he could see right through her.

"You... What are you looking at? Let me tell you, if you dare... do anything to me, I won't let you get away with it! I know karate..." Rose warned, her voice firm but her hands trembling slightly.

She truly knew some self-defense, but in front of this man, she felt her confidence waver.

Kevin acted as if he hadn't heard a word she said. He leaned closer to her, and despite her resistance, he bent down and kissed her lips. The kiss was strong and domineering... It's more like punishment than affection...

Rose was stunned. For a moment, she even forgot to struggle as her mind went blank.

He didn't stop there. After kissing her lips, he moved down and kissed her neck. His hand slid under her shirt, pinching the soft flesh of her chest...

The sharp sensation jolted Rose back to her senses... She pushed him away with all her strength, her hands trembling as she clutched her chest. She glared at him, her face red with both anger and embarrassment.

"You... What are you doing?"

Her lips were red and slightly swollen from his kiss, her eyes watery, and her flushed face resembled a ripe apple...

She looked furious and humiliated.

How dare this man took advantage of her...

Kevin, however, seemed unbothered by her anger. To him, she looked like an angry kitten clawing at him in defiance. He wiped his lips with his thumb and said,

"I'm just helping you remember that night. Didn't you say you weren't sure if it was real? I'm just helping you recall it."

He leaned closer again and added, "Tell me, do you remember something or?" as he said he looked at her lips which were red from his kiss and there was a light smile on his lips...

However, his tone was filled with mocking. It was like he felt that she was pretending to forget.

Rose was confused by his words, but suddenly, fragments of memories surfaced in her mind...

She recalled being upset about James and Nancy's betrayal and going to a bar to drink. She remembered drinking too much and noticing a handsome man sitting not far away. Fueled by anger, alcohol, and his good looks, she had boldly approached him...

The memories of how she flirted with him and led him to a room became clear. She remembered how he had pressed her against the door and kissed her passionately.

As these images replayed in her mind, her face turned an even deeper shade of red. She felt utterly mortified. She had never imagined herself behaving so boldly while drunk.

Kevin noticed her flushed face and smirked.

"Looks like you remembered something. Or..." He leaned closer again and asked, "Do you still need me to help you more?" His voice was low and deep..

Rose instinctively moved back, taking a deep breath to steady herself. She knew that what was done was done, and she needed to handle the situation rationally.

Looking him in the eye, she spoke with as much composure as she could muster. "We are both adults. What happened that night was not a big deal. As for the child, don't worry. I am not going to ask you to take responsibility. I'll handle it myself. I'll have an abortion. Don't worry!"

She tried to sound calm and logical. She felt that it was just a mistake and there was no point keeping the child.

Of course, it was not like she was a cold-blooded person and really want to abort the chil. After all, it was a life. However, she believed it was the best decision given the circumstances. She didn't see a future for the baby.

However, when Kevin heard her words, his blue eyes turned icy cold. The air around him seemed to drop several degrees.

He stared at her and said slowly, each word laced with menace, "If you dare to harm my child, I will destroy you and your entire family. I will bury all of you along with my child. I'm not joking, so think very carefully before doing anything."

His voice was low, but the chilling tone left no doubt about his resolve.
