Everyone was feeling happy as it was a prosperous occasion for the wedding of the eldest daughter of the Kapoor family. All the family members were enjoying themselves.
Mamta asked her younger daughter, Samaira, to call her sister to come downstairs. "Go and bring her downstairs. It's her wedding they all are here for. She should be present here."
Samaira went upstairs and knocked on the door of her elder sister's room. "Mahika Didi(Sister), everyone is calling you downstairs. Let's go."
She knocked again when she didn't hear any response, but again no one opened the door. She tried to open the door, but it was locked from the inside.
Her elder brother, Vishal, was coming in her direction. She stopped him. "Bhai(Brother), Mahika Didi is not opening the door, and she isn't even saying something. Mom asked me to call her to come downstairs."
Vishal sighed and tried to open the door. "It's locked from the inside."
"Is she fine inside?" Samaira looked worried for her sister.
"We have to open this door. Bring its key."
Samaira brought its key, and Vishal opened the door. Mahika's room was all messy with her dresses, lying on the bed, but Mahika wasn't there. Samaira checked the bathroom too, but she wasn't inside.
They both started getting worried about Mahika when a thought came into Samaira's mind. She quickly looked at Vishal. "She wasn't ready for this wedding. Is it possible that she...?"
"Ran away?" Vishal finished her question being totally sure that Mahika really ran away. Samaira wasn't able to believe that Mahika could do something like this.
Vishal's wife, Rishika entered the room. "Samaira, mom asked you to call Mahika, and you are both busy with your talks here. Where is Mahika?"
"Bhabhi(Brother's Wife/Sister-in-law), Mahika Didi ran away." Samaira said.
Rishika widened her eyes in shock. "What? How can she run away? It's her wedding. All the guests are here." She looked at Vishal. "Wha...What are we going to do now?"

A girl was running towards the airport in a hurry after stepping out of the cab with her luggage. Her racing heart only calmed down once the plane she was inside was in the air. "Relax Mahika, your new life is going to start from here. The one which you're going to live on your own. Full of freedom and without any burden."
She was feeling like a free bird, who was finally able to free herself by breaking her cage.

"We have to inform everyone about this." Vishal left the room. Rishika and Samaira followed him.
Vishal looked at his parents and grandfather. He asked Samaira to tell their parents and grandfather to come inside the room as he wanted to inform them about Mahika running away.
Vishal locked the room when they all came. Mamta and his father, Ranvijay could sense the worriedness on his face. His grandfather, Vikram was looking at him with his narrowed eyes.
"Dad, Mahika..." He tried to speak. Ranvijay furrowed his eyebrows. "What happened to Mahika? Where is she?"
"She...She ran a...away." Vishal closed his eyes.
Mamta, Ranvijay and Vikram widened their eyes in surprise. Ranvijay held his forehead, sitting down on the bed. "What will we tell the groom's family now?"
"We will tell them the truth that your stupid daughter ran away from her own wedding." Vikram retrieved his phone from his pocket to call Mahika's fiance, but Ranvijay stopped him. "Dad, we can search for Mahika. She can't go away too far."
"No one will find her and no one will take her name in front of me. This wedding is canceled." Vikram dialed the number, and informed Mahika's fiance about her running away while everyone looked at his face in worry except for Mamta. She was thinking something else.
Vikram talked for a few minutes, and cut the call in anger. "He is coming here with his family. Give the answer to him why your daughter ran away?"
They all went outside when Mamta's sister came to call her. They informed all the relatives that the wedding was canceled because of Mahika. All the relatives started consoling Mamta, but she was proud of Mahika because she never wanted Mahika to be like herself, who was always agreeing to all the requests of her parents, and wasn't able to live a moment for herself or to make any decision for herself with freedom.
Mahika's fiance, Neil came with his parents. He was looking very angry. "You all can't even keep an eye on my fiancée."
"Neil relax. We didn't know Mahika would do something like this." Ranvijay tried to calm him down, but Neil freaked out. "You're telling me to relax. My fiancée has ran away. I don't understand why did you get us engaged or forced her for marriage when she wasn't ready?"
Ranvijay looked at him surprised. "How do you know she wasn't ready?"
Neil took a deep breath. "Why would she take such a step if she was ready to marry me happily? You shouldn't have forced her to get married. I would've wait for her to be ready."
"We are sorry, Neil."
He came near Samaira, and caressed her hair. "What's done is done, but you all should understand that these girls deserve the freedom to choose what they want to do in their life before taking any decision for them. She is like my sister. Don't do the same mistake with her in the future."
Neil was a sensible boy and he respected Mahika's decision of running away from the marriage instead of getting married where she would feel suffocated and unhappy.

Mahika stepped out of the Los Angeles International Airport. She smiled, seeing her friend Anna who was there to receive her. Anna hugged her. "I am so happy to finally meet you."
"Same here." She hugged her back. Anna loaded her luggage in the car, and took her to her mini apartment. She asked Mahika to take some rest, before dinner.
Mahika freshened up, and came back to the living room, having some rest. Anna served her mac and cheese.
"Anna, I need a job." She said while eating.
"I have already arranged it. You're gonna join me in the restaurant I work in." Anna smiled. Mahika immediately agreed, but little did she know that this job was going to become the turning point of her life.
Mahika joined the restaurant with Anna the very next day and started working very hard. It was the most famous and luxurious restaurant.
One day, She was waiting for the order of a table to get prepared when the manager came to her. "Mahika, I need you to serve over the VIP table today."
"But Sir, I have to serve...," The manager stopped her from saying anything. "Someone else will serve that table. You need to take care of our VIP customers in the private area."
She nodded. "Okay, Sir."
"Remember, they're very special. I don't want any mistakes." The Manager warned her. She reached in front of the private room and went inside.
There were four boys, sitting inside the room. All were wearing branded clothes. They all looked at Mahika, who smiled and said, "I will be serving you all today. Please make your order."
She noticed one of them, continuously looking at her without blinking his eyes. She felt uncomfortable under his gaze and looked away.
"Bring the bottle of the most expensive wine, four medium-cooked steaks, and pasta." They placed the order, and she left.
The boy who was staring at her was lost somewhere. His friends, Alex, Kevin, and George noticed him. Alex snapped his fingers in front of him. "Where are you lost, Liam?"
"Nowhere." Liam slowly replied. They all started talking about going to Liam's place after the dinner here.
Anna met Mahika outside. She looked very excited. "Oh my god! Mahika, I can't believe you're getting to serve Liam Jackson and his friends."
Mahika furrowed her eyebrows. "What's so special about this that you're getting excited?"
"He is a billionaire and one of the most eligible bachelors in Los Angeles." Anna chirped.
"So what? For me, he is just a customer." Mahika went back to the private room with their order. Liam again stared at her and this time, their eyes met. Alex noticed Liam and Mahika, and smiled.
He felt that some special spark was lighting in the hearts of these two persons.
Mahika felt her heartbeat increasing. She left the room. "No Mahika, don't get yourself engaged in such things." She went back to work.
Liam came out of the private room with his friends after finishing the dinner, and paying the bill. His eyes searched for Mahika, but she was nowhere in sight.
"Liam." George called him. "Let's go." Liam followed them outside, and they left for his place.
They all entered Liam's luxurious penthouse and started having their party while drinking whiskey. Kevin and George got busy chatting with their girlfriends. Liam was again lost in his own thinking. Mahika's face, the moment she entered the private room of the restaurant and the moment of their eye contact was coming in front of his eyes.
He picked up the glass of his whiskey, and went to the balcony. Alex went after him. "Why are you so lost today?"
"There's nothing like that." Liam took a sip of his whiskey. Alex chuckled. "Come on, Liam. I can easily read your face. Is it because of that waitress who served us?"
Liam stared at him, and Alex understood what Liam was trying to say. "Okay, sorry. That girl."
Liam nodded. "I felt something special about her in my heart."
Alex chuckled. "Liam Jackson fell in love with a girl at first sight. I am impressed."
"I want to make her mine." Liam smiled. His eyes were shining with happiness, but Alex turned serious. "Are you sure you want to give yourself a chance again?"
Liam closed his eyes, and saw Mahika's face in front of him again. He slowly opened his eyes. "I am sure. I want her."
Alex sighed. "I won't stop you Liam, but remember what happened with your ex-girlfriends? One of them lost her life just because she loved you."
Liam threw the glass in his hand on the floor, remembering his past. Alex placed his hand on his shoulder. "You will put the life of that girl in danger. You can't let the same thing repeat with her."
"I will protect her, but I want my happiness, which I can find again with her." Liam went back inside. He asked everyone to sleep as it wasn't good for them to drive themselves home in a drunken state.
Next day, Liam woke up early before his friends because he wanted to meet Mahika. He got ready, and reached the restaurant.
He saw Mahika, cleaning a table with a little smile playing on her face. She was looking like a fresh daisy flower. Mahika looked up, and her eyes met with his. She felt the same feeling she felt last night. She was about to go from there, but Liam stopped her. "Miss."
She turned, and came near him. "How can I help you, Sir?"
The manager came there. He smiled, seeing Liam. "Mr. Jackson, what a pleasant surprise? What would you like to have?"
Liam smirked. "I want to have a talk with this gorgeous girl over here. Remember, no one should disturb me."
Liam went inside the private room. The manager stared at Mahika. "What did you do last night?"
"I...I didn't do anything, Sir." Mahika replied, getting scared of losing her job.
"If I find out you did something, I will not take a second to fire you. Now go inside. Don't keep him waiting." The manager went away from there, and she went inside the room, where Liam was waiting for her.
He gestured for her to take a seat. She obediently sat opposite him. "What's your name?" He asked.
"Mahika Khanna." She was looking very nervous.
"Why do you work here? You can get a better job." He said, casually.
"I know that sir, but I urgently needed a job so I started working here. No work is bad." She smiled at Liam, and he got lost in her smile. He came out of his trance. "I understand that. Why don't you work for me? I need a secretary to handle some of my work for me."
"Thanks for the offer, but I will not be able to do it. I am not qualified enough." She is a graduate, but she wanted to achieve everything on her own without anyone's help, and accepting his job offer was like making an easy way for herself to achieve something.
Liam was impressed with her because any other girl would've easily accepted his offer. He understood that she wasn't like other girls. He stood up. "I am really impressed with your confidence. All the best."
She stood up also. "Thank you, Sir."
He left the restaurant, and Mahika returned back to her work.
The entire day, Liam kept smiling as Mahika's smiling face from the morning kept on coming in front of his eyes again and again.

Anna and Mahika were having dinner. Anna looked at Mahika. "I wanted to ask you this but didn't get the time today. I heard Liam Jackson came to the restaurant to talk with you about something."
Mahika choked on her food and started coughing badly. She wasn't expecting to hear Liam's name all of a sudden.
Anna rubbed her back. "Easy girl."
Mahika calmed down, drinking some water. "He offered me a job."
"What? Really." Anna looked excited.
"But I didn't accept it." Mahika played with the spoon in her hand.
Anna looked at her as if thinking that Mahika was joking. "You're kidding with me, right?"
Mahika shook her head. Anna widened her eyes in disbelief. "How can you reject his offer?"
"Simple, because I am not interested in doing the job of his secretary." Mahika focused on eating her food.
Anna chose to not say anything else, and started eating. "Tomorrow we are going to get the groceries. Be ready."
"Sure, I will." Mahika took her empty plate towards the sink.
"We are going to celebrate our weekend tomorrow." Anna took out two drinks from the fridge and they started talking about random girly things.
***
"Please find Mahika's address, and her information for me." Liam was talking to Alex on the call, who got confused hearing Mahika's name. "Who is this Mahika?"
"That girl from the restaurant."
"Oh, Okay. You will get it in the morning." Alex said, and Liam cut the call after talking to him for a few minutes. Liam went to sleep, but it was away from his eyes as he was again lost in the thoughts of Mahika.
***
Liam was checking on some mails in the morning after having breakfast when his phone vibrated with a message. He opened the message. It was from Alex.
Liam got ready to go to Mahika's address, and some information about her. He read it. "So, she is here from India." He left his penthouse, got inside his car happily, and started driving to reach his love.
***
Mahika and Anna were ready to go out to the groceries. Anna locked the apartment and went downstairs with Mahika.
Liam stopped his car in front of the building. He was about to step out of his car when his eyes landed on Mahika and Anna, coming out of the building.
They both got inside Anna's car. Seeing this, Liam again started his car and started following them.
Anna stopped the car in front of a local store. Mahika stepped out of the car and went inside the store with Anna.
Liam wasn't used to going to such places, but he wanted to talk to Mahika. He got out of his car and went inside the store.
Mahika was picking up the groceries with Anna. Liam was continuously looking at her. Mahika turned to the side, and her eyes landed on him. He started pretending to pick up the groceries.
Mahika walked to him. "Mr. Jackson."
He looked at her and smiled. "Hello."
"Are you following me?" She raised her eyebrows.
"What? No, I am here to get some groceries." He lied as he didn't expected her to ask this question.
She laughed. "Come on, Mr. Jackson. From what I have heard about you, I can get the idea that you will never enter such stores, getting groceries on your own is far away."
He scratched the back of his head nervously. "Yes, I am here for you. Can we ha...have coffee together?"
She took a deep breath. "Mr. Jackson, first understand that I hate being followed. Second, I have to help my friend in picking up the groceries so sorry, I can't accompany you for coffee."
"It's alright."
Anna came near them. "Mahika, I think you should go. I will handle everything here." Anna winked at her.
"But I don't want to go." Mahika whispered in her ear.
"Just go." Anna forced her. Liam smiled at Anna, and looked at Mahika expectantly. Left with no option, Mahika decided to go with him. "Let's go."
Liam became happy. He thanked Anna and came outside of the store with Mahika. He opened the door of his BMW for Mahika. She got inside the car.
Liam got in the driving seat and asked Mahika to fasten her seatbelt. Mahika was watching outside the window during the entire ride.
Thoughts were running into her mind about what Liam wants from her? Why is he following her everywhere?
He stopped his car in front of a cafe and they both got off the car. They went inside the cafe, and settled themselves on the table near the window.
The server came to take their orders. Mahika ordered a cold coffee. "Make that two." Liam gave the menu back to the server.
Mahika looked at him. "So, why do you ask me to come with you for having coffee?"
"I want to know more about you." He didn't hide his purpose.
She furrowed her eyebrows. "Why?"
"I like you, Mahika." He said, and she felt her heartbeat increasing. He looked at her curiously. "Do you like someone?"
She laughed, thinking that she came here running away from her own marriage. Dating or liking someone is out of the question for her. "No, I don't." She simply replied.
He felt relieved by her answer. The server came with their orders and left, placing their orders in front of them.
Liam took a sip of his coffee and looked at Mahika. "Mahika, I really like you a lot. In fact, it's love. Love at first sight. I felt something special in my heart the moment I saw you at the restaurant." He took a deep breath. "I want you to move-in with me."
