Chapter 1 Stalker

"Damn it, it's so careless to forget to lock own workspace!" Edbert cursed softly when he saw a woman who was about to open the door from behind.

The leader of the wealthy company accelerated his steps so that he could quickly get to where the woman was.

"Damn stalker! What do you want to infiltrate into my workspace?" That question coincided with the opening of the door to Edbert's workspace.

The woman immediately turned around, surprised by the curse from behind. 'Damn, damn, damn. Why does everything appear?' she thought.

Without thinking, Edbert immediately pulled the woman's arm into his room. Obviously, it is inversely proportional to what the woman named Cellie thinks.

"What are you doing intruding into my room? You don't have the slightest courtesy; can you not even know about privacy? I don't care who you are because from the start anyone is forbidden to enter this room!" Edbert insisted after taking a seat in his chair.

Cellie is left standing because there is only one chair around. There is a sofa, but it is quite far away. It's not possible either Cellie dares to sit there. Even though her current actions weren't quite right, he still had a polite attitude towards an elder, let alone one of a higher rank. For him, finding a sense of security is better than dealing with people in power.

"Asked not answered, instead dumbfounded. Do you have a mouth or not?"

"Just be patient, Sir."

"Where is the patience? I feel wronged here!"

"Make a loss? Loss from where? I'm not a thief who just grabs stuff; besides, I haven't been here yet. Origin-"

"It's quick to say a clear reason; no need to beat around the bush from earlier. I still have a lot of work to do," interrupted Edbert, shifting his chair to the Cellie side.

Cellie snorted harshly, trying to hold back the anger that had peaked. Even though she is patient, it is undeniable that the billionaire next to her is now very firm and stubborn, so it annoys her.

"Fast!"

"Yes yes. As long as Mr. Edbert knows, I really want to be honest without being asked. So, no need to force me to say everything; I am definitely not a thief. Please be patient!"

Edbert's temper grew when he heard the expression from Cellie. Really, he could no longer contain the anger that was on the edge. Even his eyes were rounded perfectly towards the Cellie.

"Once again, you beat around the bush; I will have the heart to announce your attitude to all employees here. It doesn't matter who you are to deliberately infiltrate here," said Edbert emphatically.

Lamp Cellie shrink. "Yes, Sir, yes. I'm here because of the demands of work."

"Damn!"

"It turns out that this is how Mr. Edbert talks to strangers? Swearing is never left behind." Cellie again ventured, conveying sarcasm directly in front of the billionaire next to her.

Edbert got up from the chair, sharpening his gaze right at Cellie. Get close to the front Cellie.

"Don't tell me you framed me!"

Unable to bear the piercing gaze, Cellie looked away. Trying to stay calm, understanding the current conditions, let alone hearing Edbert's outburst of anger right in front of her face with firmness.

"Hm, sorry if I made Mr. Edbert even more emotional. To be honest, I am an investigative journalist who has a duty from my superiors to find the truth about your past, which is said to be dark."

Edbert sharpened his eyes even more. It made Cellie courage shrink back, so find a way to arrange words that are more appropriate and polite. Now, Edbert's hands were clasped together.

"Sorry, Sir. I didn't mean to offend Mr. Edbert. But that's the reality. Actually, I'm not that interested; in fact, it's better to avoid dealing with important people like Sir-"

"Now what do you do? Is that how you say you're not interested?"

"Because I had to, Sir."

"Is it necessary for you to say? The reason?"

"Money."

"You stop this investigation right now! I will replace the salary offered by your boss." Edbert's gaze returned to what it was before, but there was a hint of hope in his eyes.

Strickly Cellie replied, "No!"

"Why don't you want? Isn't it the same? It's better to just quietly earn money than work hard as an intruder like this?"

Edbert's offer is tempting, but mindset Cellie is the opposite of that.

"I emphasize once again that I do not want to accept your offer. I don't want to receive money without hard work; that's just like lying."

"Now, I can take you to the various media regarding intruders at Star Company Tobacco who embarrass themselves." Edbert grabbed Cellie's wrist while continuing to stare at the woman's black bead.

Edbert's characteristic when talking to his opponent is always paying attention to the face and staring deeply. Not without reason; he just wants to ensure the honesty of his opponent through gestures in the face as well as eye contact. Not in vain, he also studied psychology.

"No. I don't want to; you don't have to force it, Sir. I admit I was wrong, and I also apologized earlier. What's still missing?"

Edbert felt deja vu, remembering his past figure again. There is little resemblance on the face, Cellie. There is a guess in the head about the Cellie figures which are actually. This made his emotions drop a bit.

"Yeah, relax. I think you look like someone."

'Ouch, terrible. This is something Mr. Edbert knows about me. He started to suspect that I looked like Isabell. We used to know each other when we were little, and I still remember it very well. Terrible, how about this? Are you being honest?' thought Camille, confused, as he looked away, not daring to meet Edbert's gaze.

"Be honest with me. Who are you?"

Cellie dared to look at Edbert again. "Earlier, I told you where I came from. Never mind, I really refuse your offer."

The reasons that Cellie explained earlier were ringing in his head. Edbert was confused, so he thought hard. Without even realizing it, his grip just slipped off Cellie wrist.

'This is a good opportunity; I have to make the best of it'. Cellie made preparations to escape from Edbert's room.

"Uh, where are you going?"

The sound of Cellie's first footsteps apparently made Edbert aware of the confusion that hit. Quickly, Cellie ran towards the door of the room.

Bang!

"Damn! Cunning woman, I'm careless again, I won't let that woman spread whatever about myself, even though it was just about the chat earlier!" Edbert cursed while hitting his desk with his own fist because his emotions returned.

Confusion arose again, remembering again the Cellie explanation. The fists slowly loosened as the emotions subsided.

"When my think about it, it doesn't make sense that the woman looks like the woman from the past. It was also clear that the woman said she was not interested in my life. But on the otherwise, I still doubt."

Knock, knock, knock!

The sound of knocking on the door distracted Edbert, so he couldn't help but step towards the door of the room. The thought paused for a moment; there was an agenda that he just remembered now.

Chapter 2 Investigate stalker

"You don't have any problems with your employees, Ed?"

A question from Lezzie interrupted Edbert's reverie between meals. "You mean Mommy?"

"Edbert doesn't understand what you mean, honey. Habits do not understand the conditions," Stone admonished, pausing to chew it.

It was clear that Lezzie's face was sullen when she heard the reprimand from her husband. Stone also understands his wife's annoyance.

"Yes, yes, your curiosity is irresistible, honey. I understand." Stone tries to give in to his wife.

Edbert amused himself by hearing the conversation between his parents. It's not that he's not normal; it's just that he remembers his past. However, he still watched the two of them as he continued his last mouthful.

"Earlier, Mommy passed in front of your office. Mommy heard the sound of the table hitting quite loudly. What-"

"Oh, that. It's no big deal, Mom. Mommy, take it easy; there's only a little resentment in me for being careless." Edbert was forced to cut off his mother's words to lie for his own safety.

"Just trust your child on this one, honey. He is an adult; he must be able to think more maturely too, and he can learn from mistakes in the past too. Calm down, honey." Stone can always calm his wife under any circumstances.

Edbert got up from the chair. "Okay, Mom, Dad, then I'll go to the room first. I have unfinished work."

"Yes, Ed. Goodnight, honey!"

It was Lezzie's habit to give sweet words to her child to let her know the love that was always there. In fact, Edbert often ignored those words, like now who doesn't look backward, focusing only on his room downstairs.

"I have to do something."

Edbert went straight to the front of the laptop when he got to the room. There is a plan that must be carried out now that his mind is filled with events this morning, let alone being questioned by his own mother.

"Let's just hope Mommy never got suspicious of what happened earlier."

Edbert started to open the laptop in front of him. "I have to find out about the background of that sly woman; I feel there is something odd about her response earlier."

He started surfing social media, looking for media that had something to do with investigative journalists, especially news about him. With standard abilities, he was sure to find what he was looking for.

Photos of beautiful women are clearly visible in the data section for journalists. He started to scroll it so that you could see the whole thing as well as match the face of the woman you met this morning.

"Which is the woman's face?" There was confusion because too many photos were viewed. "If it's like this, where can I find out about that woman?"

Edbert paused his activities for a while, looking for a solution to his current confusion while supporting his chin. He will definitely be daydreaming for the next few minutes.

Ring!

After only five minutes, a notification sound from his cell phone distracted him from his reverie. He picked up the cell phone next to the laptop and received a call from his secretary.

"Hello, Mister Edbert. Good evening. Sorry to disturb the activity."

"What is it?"

"Here is a file that has not been signed. Can Mister Edbert sign it now?"

"You know it's already late, right? It's time to rest; it shouldn't be signed right now." Although firm, he still tried to keep his word.

"Let me come to Mr. Edbert's house. The problem is that this is an important document that will be used in a meeting with the client tomorrow."

"Why do you insist like that? Here I am your superior; please don't argue!"

"But-"

"There are no buts. Tomorrow you leave earlier than usual, and I will sign before the meeting starts. Just make sure all the files are correct; don't make the slightest mistake!"

Edbert ended the phone call unilaterally. The problem now is complicated; he doesn't want to bother himself too much with the presence of his secretary, whom he thinks is quite flirtatious and tries to get closer to him. Really, he doesn't like that. However, there is no substitute who is as professional as him.

"Habit, she always interfere with my activities."

The gaze tried to be diverted back to the laptop in front, and the cellphone was put back in its original place. Focus as much as possible on the topic at hand.

The cursor hovered over the first photo, which he opened casually without any real conviction. Undeniably, his eyes widened perfectly when he accidentally saw the image of the woman behind the woman who stood out.

"It seems familiar to the face."

Photo startdizoom to show the face of the woman in the back more clearly. Suddenly, his memory returned to the incident this morning-the woman he met.

"Good job. Finally, I managed to also find that woman!" His eyes lit up while surfing, looking for information from the whole photo, especially regarding the photo of Cellie.

One hand that had been idle until now turned to take the cellphone, preparing to open the notes application. The information that has just been obtained is listed in the application in detail so that there are no errors later.

"Cellie Anthony. The OpLax building is on Semrawut Ruwet Road number thirty one. Edbert recited the name and identity of the building where he worked.

Quickly, the cursor on the laptop switches to other social media. The woman's name is used as material for identity searches on social media.

In just five minutes, he found a Cellie large family photo and zoom in on the faces one by one to make it clearer.

"Oh my god." Edbert's eyes widened again when he saw the expression on the face of someone who had been haunting him-a woman from the past.

Both hands clasped tightly as if to reinforce the reality that had been found. Now, he was more and more certain that his doubts and eyesight had never misjudged.

Suddenly, several negative conjectures appeared in the mind, which made it even more complicated. "Is it possible Cellie there a separate intention to seek the truth? But why lie?"

By reflex, both hands let go of their own grip, turning to reach for the cellphone again. The rear camera is pointed at the front of the laptop.

Click!

One photo was taken from a large family photo of Cellie at a time when his ex was on laptops. Quickly, various social media were taken out first, and the laptop was slowly closed.

Edbert got up from the chair and stepped towards his soft bed. "Is it possible that Cellie has a grudge against me because of past events? And, in fact, she also already knows about my dark past, but she doesn't want to publish the incident in various media honestly, so he prefers to come to me?"

"No, I can't think negatively before me know the real truth," he said as he fell onto the bed.

Eyes turned to the sky of the room, trying to think carefully about making decisions for tomorrow, not wanting to be careless again so that it ends up failing and time is wasted.

In just a few minutes, the successful billionaire made a decision with certainty.

"The point is, tomorrow I have to come to the location. Find that woman and trap her until she wants to side with me. Anyway, must silence the story of my past. Besides that, I will tell me a fake story in my past that is a bit off the mark."

This decision made Edbert calmer, so he slept more soundly. Eyes sparkling now slowly closed, preparing to go to dreamland.

Chapter 3 Trapping Stalker

"Sir, this file is complete. It also contains the conclusions from the meeting earlier."

Edbert who had just come out of his room, was somewhat surprised to find the secretary suddenly appear in front of him. So, his eyes sharpened a bit to look at his secretary, Victoria.

"Sorry, Sir. Seriously, I have no intention to startle Mr. Edbert."

An apology from Victoria was only answered by Edbert by rolling his eyes lazily. In a rush like now, he doesn't want to deal or talk too much with other people, including his own secretary.

"Put it on your table first; I'll take it after I get back here. Excuse me." Edbert walked away, leaving Victoria in front of his office. His steps headed out of the company.

"But, Sir. Where are you going now? There is still an unfinished agenda, Sir!"

Victoria's screams were completely ignored by Edbert because before that he had already arranged everything. Of course, he is a perfectionist, trying not to miss anything, let alone being careless when it comes to work.

It didn't take long when Edbert started to get the car to speed up at a rather high speed.

"I mustthere quickly. Perfect time to visit the building."

His gaze immediately focused on the front, as if he did not want to miss the condition of the road. Even the sound of notifications from cell phones was ignored; there was absolutely no curiosity about the owner of the number that sent him the message.

On the way to their destination, right in front of the traffic lights, there were several motorists who got out of their vehicles and crowded around the side of the road, causing traffic jams. In fact, the light had turned green a few seconds ago.

"What happened? Why do you have to stop in the middle of the road? It's just disturbing the road to get stuck like this," grumbled Edbert with narrowed eyes while repeatedly tapping the steering wheel of his car.

After just a few seconds of staring at the crowd while waiting for the drivers to resume their vehicles, suddenly there was a loud argument. This made him curious.

"Why exactly? Nothing starts to walk either; just make it emotional. If it continues like this, when will I get to the OpLax building? Damn!" Edbert was getting annoyed.

Reluctantly, because there was no other choice, he got out of the car and stepped decisively towards the crowd. Eyes still squinted, staring seriously at the destination.

'This woman, why is she here arguing with other drivers?' he thought in surprise when he saw a familiar woman's face in the crowd. Yes, that woman is Cellie, the woman he met yesterday.

"Enough, Sir. There is no need to extend it anymore; tomorrow I will definitely pay for it. You just need to give me a business card; I'll contact you later. Trust me, I will not walk away from my responsibility." Facial expression Cellie turned moody and full of hope.

"It can't be tomorrow; it has to be right now. You must be lying; this is just your ruse."

Edbert immediately smiled crookedly; of course, there was an idea in his head, while Cellie hadn't seen it yet. This one billionaire is always able to take advantage of adversity. Want to say cunning, but it's a strategy that is always applied in any case.

"No, Sir. I can swear I'm not lying. If necessary, my identity card will be collateral." Cellie grabbed the backpack on his back, trying to find the whereabouts of his wallet to retrieve his original identity card.

"I don't need guarantees, whatever; I just want to compensate right now. If you don't want to, just surrender yourself to the authorities. Get ready now!"

When the old man argued with Cellie and almost gripped Cellie wrist, Edbert suddenly raised his voice. "Ahem. What is this actually about? Why such a fuss?"

Suddenly the old man was surprised because he recognized the figurebillionaire who just spoke up. As well as Cellie, he was surprised and amazed at the same time.

'How come Mr. Edbert is here all of a sudden? Do I just ask him for help?' I thought Cellie was surprised and doubtful.

"Why are all silent? When the debate is over, can everyone disperse? This is a public road; pity for the drivers behind."

"Just a moment, Sir."

"What is it? I asked, and no one answered; that means the problem is over?"

"Not yet, Sir."

Cellie just listened to the conversation between Edbert and the man who had argued with her earlier and whom she had accidentally hit.

"Then what's the problem?"

"Look, this woman just ran into me. I am ordering compensation now because I myself am not sure of what this woman said, but she doesn't want to."

Edbert's gaze turned to everyone who was still crowding in that place. "For everyone who has nothing else to do, please go and get back to driving. I hope you guys understand the road conditions behind you; please cooperate!"

Suddenly everyone in the crowd sauntered away, immediately melted by Edbert's words. They know who Edbert is; surely they don't want anything to do with someone important like him. Apart from that, Edbert's order from earlier was also acceptable to their common sense, especially when they looked behind their vehicle.

"Well then, let me be the one responsible for this woman's compensation."

"Seriously, Son? Edbert is this kind of person, it turns out." At first, the old man was a bit surprised because he didn't really know Edbert's attitude.

'What? Why does he care so much about me? Is there a plan maybe behind help?' Cellie feelings immediately turned uneasy, doubting Edbert's goodness.

"Yes, sir." Edbert took a wallet from his coat pocket.

"Thank you very much, Edbert."

The old man glanced in the direction of Cellie. "It's lucky you can help the same Edbert," he sneered.

'Lucky, but if my doubts are true, it will hurt me. No, I hope my guess isn't true', Cellie thought again while shaking her head repeatedly without even looking at Edbert or the man she hit.

"This is Sir. You can use this money to service your car. I'm sorry I can't accompany you because I have important business." Edbert handed the old man several dollar bills.

The old man accepted with shining eyes. Afterwards, permission went directly to Edbert and Cellie.

"Why help me all, Sir? I don't need Mister Edbert's help if there's some hidden purpose behind it." Instead of thanking her, Cellie actually expressed her frustration because she was increasingly sure of her suspicions.

Edbert rolled his eyes lazily, turned around, and walked away from the car without saying a word. It was on purpose to stalk Cellie from behind.

"What's the matter, Mr. Edbert? Why did it end like this? If this is the case, how can I be released from the debt of gratitude earlier?" annoyed Cellie.

Cellie was back on her motorcycle with a sullen expression. Not even aware that Edbert stalks him behind. In fact, he wasn't paying much attention to the mirrors now.
