SINCLAIR'S UNWANTED BRIDE
(A Royal Arranged Marriage)
Chapter 1 The life of Brielle Allen
It seemed so familiar as Brielle rushed into the hospital and charged towards the reception desk. "Good...afternoon...please I received a call that my dad was rushed here again." She breathed out heavily with her chest rising and falling.
The nurse at the desk looked up at Brielle. "What's his name, miss?" She asked.
"Jasper...Allen." Brielle replied.
"Oh...he is right in a private room..." The nurse paused.
Brielle arched her brows. "Private room?" She can't even afford to pay for such a room. She made an attempt to query the nurse for fixing up her dad in such an expensive room but was interrupted abruptly.
"He is in ward three hundred and six." The nurse informed her.
Without wasting much time, Brielle took to her heels and raced to the ward where her dad was kept under serious monitoring. She stopped on track when she got to the entrance to see a figure in the room. It wasn't her father laying on the bed. Why is he here? Brielle thought. She could see that her father was laying on the bed with an oxygen machine and wires strapped to his body.
After confirming that her father's heartbeat was beating fine through the machine, she looked up at the figure with a deep frown on her face. "Why are you here?" Brielle asked.
The figure turned around to see her when he heard her voice. "Look who is here?! My sweet, beautiful and loving sister, Brielle Allen. Finally you have come." He replied as he gave her a fake smile.
"I just asked you a question. Archer, why are you here?" Brielle balled her fists at her sides.
"To see our father, of course. Do you think I am that heartless not to come and see him before he dies." Archer grinned.
His words annoyed her even more. "Dad is not going to die!" She snapped at him. "And now that you have seen him, you can leave." She gritted in anger.
"Nah. You can't dismiss me just like that after I paid for this damn room! This is quite expensive and I am certain you can't afford half of the price." Archer chuckled darkly.
"You shouldn't have bothered paying for this damn room! And at least I can afford the other wards. Archer, please leave." Brielle replied.
" Not too soon. And why do I get the feeling that you want me to leave because you think I will hurt our father?" Archer clicked his tongue as he shook his head from side to side.
"That is because I know you. You swore that you will make him pay for throwing you out years ago. And seeing you here now only proves that you want to put your plan into action." Brielle seethed her teeth.
Archer laughed gently before saying, "Believe me when I say this, I love seeing him this way. Poor father. Just take a look at him, so vulnerable and helpless. I would have liked it if he had died too but I can't wish that on him. Not yet at least."
Fury crashed over Brielle as she moved closer to the bed in a bid to protect her father. She pushed at her brother's chest and he staggered backwards. "You are evil, Archer! How can you say all that to a man who took you into his life and treated you like his own son!"
Archer raised his hands up in surrender. "Point of correction, he didn't do it because he pitied or wanted me in his life. He accepted me because I was forced upon him by my mother! And I have always wondered what my mother saw in him. He is not even good looking." He stopped and starred at their father with anger blazing in his eyes.
"She loved him and he also loved her. A feeling you will never know because you are a very bitter man!" Brielle said with so much passion.
Archer looked straight at her. "You are right! I am a very bitter man! And I doubt if I will ever find myself in love with anyone! I don't do love! I care about myself alone!"
"Get out! Get out, Archer!" Brielle tried to push him away but he grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer to his body.
"Hey, Relax. I am here for a reason. So be a good girl sis and let me state why I am here to see you." He said in a tight whisper.
Brielle struggled against him but he held on to her wrist tightly. "For whatever reason you are here, I have no interest in it. All I want is for you to get the hell out of my sight!"
Archer flashed his sister a sardonic smile. "What if I tell you that I have a solution to your current problem." He said still not wanting to give up.
"Oh really? Please state the problem."
Archer chuckled as he let go of her wrist. "You don't have the money for your father's surgery."
Brielle was surprised Archer already found out about their father's condition. No one except the doctor and Brielle knew why Mr Jasper haven't receive the proper treatment yet and that's because she doesn't have enough money for the surgery that would help save his life. And how the hell did Archer find out that their father was at the hospital?! She pondered deeply.
Brielle stared at him hoping to find answers but she found none through his expression. All she knows is that Archer always have his way around things.
"Why are you here?" Brielle repeated the question she had asked more than three times now.
"I didn't show up here to waste my money on this good for nothing man. I have a proposition to make to you. If you agree to do it then I will pay for your father's surgical bills." Archer said.
"Your father? You make it sound like he is not your father." Brielle moved away from him. She has had enough of his annoying and rude comments about the man she regarded as a father. "Just as I have said earlier, I am not interested in anything that pertains to you. So just leave, Archer. Get out!" She yelled at him.
Archer only smiled as he brought a card. "Call me on any of these lines on this card. I will be waiting."
"In your wildest dreams!" She took the card and tore it in his presence.
An angry look flashed his expression but it was replaced by a feigned smile abruptly. "I'll see you soon, sister." He waved at his sister before exiting the room.
Brielle stepped on the pieces of paper on the floor. She would never have anything to do with him. Tears clouded her vision as she stared at her father who laid on the bed; unconscious.
She took his hand and kissed it gently. "I am sorry you have to go through this again, dad. The only thing holding you from having your operation is the money and I promise you that one way or another, I will get the money you need. I promise." Brielle said in a tight whisper.
Chapter 2 Her look alike
FEW HOURS LATER
Brielle left the hospital and head to the restaurant where she works as a waitress. All through the way to work, the thought of Archer filled her mind. It has been years since she last saw him. Due to some misunderstanding that occurred between he and their father for being a nuisance, Archer was thrown out. Mr Jasper wanted to help him become better but Archer never wanted to live a good life. Each time, Mr Jasper received a call, it was always about Archer committing a crime and was being thrown in cell and he had to bail him out on several occasions.
Ever since Archer left home, his family didn't hear from him until a year ago when Brielle saw a picture of him along side a wealthy heiress and it seemed like he was doing so well. The news had claimed that they were both married. But Brielle knew that her very own brother must have married the lady because of her money. One of his weirdest dreams was to marry a rich woman and inherit all her properties whenever she dies.
Archer never showed up to see them but now he was back and with some kind of proposition.
"I shouldn't think about it. Archer only wants to use me for his own benefit. He doesn't care about anyone. And I am sure that it is not some thing good at all." Brielle whispered to herself. She glanced down at her wrist watch and realized that she was already late for work.
Immediately she hurried down the busy streets of New York and as she was about to cross the street to the restaurant where her work was located, all of a sudden a car stopped beside her and two men in black came out and bundled her roughly into the car.
Brielle was shocked because the movement was so fast. "What's going on?! Who are you?! What do you want from me?! Let me go?! Somebody help!" She yelled at them but they weren't paying any attention.
She tried to struggle for her freedom but she was hit on the face by one of the men. The blow weakened her, a tape was placed on her mouth and her hands were tied down. And throughout the ride her face burned badly from pains and she felt numb.
After some minutes of driving, the car stopped and one of the men carried out of the car and swung her on his shoulder. "Lehummmeeeghooorrr..." She struggled but the man didn't flinch.
The men started towards a building with guns in their hands except for the one carrying her. Brielle was scared. She tried to think of why she was being abducted by these men and what they want from her.
"Did I offend anyone? I hardly talk to anyone and I don't have any enemy. So who is behind this? Are they going to kill me?!" She mused. Different kinds of thoughts came rushing into her mind.
Brielle realized that the place they took her to was an abandoned warehouse. The man that carried her dropped her roughly on a chair. Two other men tied her down on the chair before removing the tape on her mouth which caused her to scream.
"Who are you guys?! Why did you abduct me?! What do you want from me?!" She yelled at them.
"This is not called abduction. I will never abduct my own sister." Archer said as he walked out of the shadows.
"Archer!" Brielle's eyes widened in shock.
"Hello sis. Good to see you again. And I hope these guys weren't too rough on you?" He asked with a croaked smile on his face.
"How dare you?! If this is not abduction then what do you call it?!" Brielle snapped at him.
"Come on, this is just me trying to have a chat with my stubborn sister. There was no other way to have a proper conversation with you since you didn't want to see me. And you know me too well, Brielle, I hate it when people waste my time and if I don't get what I want."
"What the hell do you want from me?!" Brielle demanded.
"Nothing much. I just want your cooperation on some plans I have in mind." Archer answered.
"You should count me out. Archer, I won't be a part of anything that pertains to you. I won't get involved in any of your criminal activities! Let me go!" She spat.
Archer moved closer to her and he grabbed her shoulder so she could sit still. "You will do as I say! Sit still and listen to me! If you want to save your father then obey me!" He snarled.
"Don't you dare bring my father into this!"
"He needs to be in this matter! I need him in this conversation because he is the reason why you will do what I ask you to do!"
Brielle spat in his eyes. "Damn it!" Archer staggered backward. He didn't expect that she would spit on his face.
"Never! I won't do anything for you! Even if you want to end my life, I still won't do what you want!" Brielle seethe her teeth in anger.
Archer took out an handkerchief from his pocket to wipe his face. "Fine. You leave me no choice. Turn on the video and show it to her." He gave out instructions to one of the men.
One of the men came forward and showed me her a video. Brielle could see her father laying on the bed still unconscious. But he wasn't alone, a man was right beside him with a rope in his hand as if he was waiting for an instruction to make his next move.
"I don't care about the man laying on the bed and you know it. You see that man standing beside your father only needs one word. Kill. And then his next move would be strangling your father to death." His voice was calm but his look was deadly.
Brielle cringed at his words. "But his actions depends on the answer I get from you. Right here. Right now." He added.
Brielle knew at this point, nothing would change Archer's mind except he gets what he wants from her. "Archer...please...leave father out of this." Her voice pleaded with him.
Archer knew who Brielle loves the most in the world; Mr Jasper Allen. She loves their father even more than she loves herself. "Not until you rethink your answer. Now let me start over again, I have a proposition for you. Brielle Allen, would you like to listen to it?" He asked.
Knowing what Archer was capable of doing and also scared of loosing her father, Brielle nodded gently. "I will like to know what it is...Archer." She closed her eyes as tears streamed down her cheeks.
"Good! That's very good!" Archer clapped his hand as he looked straight at his sister.
"Bring out the pictures." Archer said to one of his goons and immediately he tendered some pictures on the table.
"What are these picture?" Brielle demanded.
"Relax my little sweet bird." Archer signaled to one of his goons to help her out.
The guy holding Brielle still on the chair despised being tied down helped her up and dragged her to the table. "Look at it yourself and tell me what you think." A devilish smile play on his lips.
The guy holding her still on the chair pulled her closer the table. Brielle took the picture and she was shocked with what her eyes saw there. It was someone who looked exactly like her. The clothes she was wearing screamed just one word; Wealth. And the way she had her hair done also talked of the money she had even if Brielle had money, she could never dress like her.
But what puzzled her the most was that the lady in the pictures has her face and Brielle can't ever remember her parents telling her that she has a twin. Or does she have one that she doesn't know about? She wondered.
"She is not your twin, If that is what you are thinking. Get it out of your head." Archer answered the question like he knew what was running through her mind.
"Then who is she?" Brielle asked.
"She is Natalie Harrison. The daughter of Prime Minister Harrison." He replied.
"But how come she has-"
"Your face." He completed her intended words. "I was also shocked when I saw her too. At first I thought it was you but the way she reacted made me realized that she is not you. She can never be you."
Brielle screwed up her face. "Then who is she? Yes I know she is the minister's daughter...but...but why does she have my face?" She stuttered with a confused look on her face.
Archer chuckled lightly. "Call it the will of God or nature or destiny. I don't know. All I know is that there is a reason why you both have the same face."
"A reason?"
Archer clicked his tongue. "Yes. A reason. You both aren't twins but you have the same face and she is rich while you are poor. Isn't that telling you something?" He asked.
"No, It isn't telling me a thing, Archer." Brielle replied feeling shocked at this discovery.
"Well then I will explain better with no need to beat around the bush. You my dear Brielle are going to take her place."
"What?!" Brielle gasped out in shock.
"You look so much like her and with a little dress up on you there won't be a difference to comment on. You will be just perfect to take her place."
"What? No way!" She disagreed when realization hit her straight in the face.
"Yes way." Archer grinned.
"What you are trying to tell me now that I have to pretend to be this lady?" Brielle pointed out.
"You aren't as dumb as I thought you to be." Archer replied with a smirk on his face.
"You are crazy! You are clearly out of your mind! I won't do such a thing!" Brielle yelled at him.
"Of course you will do as I say. You gave me your word and the threat on your father isn't over yet."
Remembering her father, Brielle calmed as more tears clouded her vision. "But I can't do it. I can't pretend to be her. I have never even see her before so I can't act like her. I can't do it." She argued.
"You can and you will do it. It is a must that you pretend to be Natalie Harrison. I need you to help fulfill my plan!" Archer grimaced.
Chapter 3 His plans
"What plan?" Brielle asked in a soft tone.
Archer walked to the table drawer and pulled out a picture then he shoved it at her. Brielle turned the picture over and she saw a guy. A very handsome one. His sunrise gold hair was gelled up to fit his perfectly sculpted face. His eyebrows are thin and narrow, piercing brown eyes and well defined cheekbones. He was sexy.
Brielle was sure that a lot of women would be dying to have him in their lives but not her and she certainly doesn't want to be part of this charade.
"Who is he?" She asked.
"Are you messing with me? You don't know who he is?!" Archer demanded in a raised tone.
"No I don't know him!" She retorted in a raised tone too.
"He is Sinclair Miller. King Ronan and Queen Elizabeth Miller's son. Apparently he is the crowned prince and the next in line to the throne." Archer answered.
Brielle looked surprised. "But...what is a...Royal blood role in this...plan of yours?"She stammered.
"He is the one I am after. He is the one I want."
"Why are you after him?" Brielle questioned.
"The man is a bastard! I had it all. I had it in my grasp but when he meddled in my plans, I lost everything and no matter what I do, he still keeps on meddling." He grimaced in anger.
Brielle was confused. "Can you explain further on this?" She asked.
"You don't need to know all that. All I want you to know is that Sinclair Miller is the real enemy. The one I want to destroy and that can only be fulfilled through you.!" He seethe his teeth in anger.
"Destroy? You want me to help you ruin him?" Brielle asked.
"Not only ruining him but I also want him dead!" Archer blurted out.
Brielle's eyes widened in shock again. "Dead? You...you...want me to kill a Royal Blood? I have never killed someone and I won't do it now because of you. I won't get my hands stained with someone's blood because of you!" She yelled at him.
"You have no say in this, Brielle. I am hell bent on doing this. You are to do as I say and that's final!"
Brielle shook her head in disagreement. "Never. No I won't do it!" She moved away from the men with an attempt to run outside but a rough pulling from Archer stopped her.
"I have hatched this plan for years now and I won't let a stupid thing like you destroy it. Listen Brielle! It is either you comply or your father dies." Archer stated fiercely.
"Just stop this, Archer. He is your father too. You can't possibly want to harm him."
"He is not my father and I will never see him as my father and to get what I want am willing to do anything. Zac!" He called out to one of the men there and the one with the name responded.
"Call the man at the hospital and tell him to finish the job." Archer said with a straight face as he stared at Brielle.
"Okay boss!" Zac replied.
"No Archer! Please don't do this. You can't harm father." Brielle begged.
"It's either you help me get rid of the Prince or your father dies!" He tightened his hold on her.
"But I am not a...killer...I can't...possibly do what you are asking me."
"You can and you will! It is what I want and if you love your father, you will agree to it right now!"
Brielle looked at the Zac guy and saw that he was already making a call. She looked at Archer and she knew that he wouldn't change his mind.
If pretending to be someone else and also to kill the Prince is the only way to save her father then she would do it. Brielle thought sadly.
"Fine! You win! I...I... will do it. Please don't kill my father." Brielle rushed out her words. She was being forced into something that she knows will turn out bad for her.
"Zac! End the call." Archer called and the man ended the call.
"That's my step sister. I know that you will not disappoint me." He said gently tapping her right cheek.
Brielle pushed his hand away. She felt disgusted by his touch. Archer laughed as more tears streamed down her face.
"So now, let's talk about what your role will be in all this." He said sitting down on one of the chairs around the table.
"I am listening." Brielle mumbled.
"Save all that fierce spirit in you for later because Sinclair Miller is someone who is not intimidated easily."
"Well...I wish he would catch me and stop me from doing any harm." Brielle muttered but he heard her words.
"That's the problem here sweet bird. Sinclair must never know what you are up to. Think of it like this, your father isn't really out of danger because you said yes now so don't be too happy."
"I hate you!" Brielle gritted.
"Same with me but to achieve my aim, I am willing to be a friend, a stepbrother and also a brother in law."
"What do you mean by a brother in law?"
"My wife is Sinclair Miller's sister. Didn't you know?" He asked.
"If it is anything pertaining to you, I never want to know." Brielle retorted angrily.
"Well you will have to know because it now pertains you." Archer chuckled.
"Natalie Harrison is engaged to the prince. It was announced a month ago and it is not a love match thing but more like a business arrangement. So relax you wouldn't be forced to kiss or sleep with the prince." He added.
"I wouldn't sleep with him, not even if it was part of your plan!"
"Poor you, I am sorry to say but you have no say in this. Even if the Prince wants to sleep with you then you have no option than to oblige."
"Tell me to do any thing but not to sleep with Prince Sinclair Miller."
"Whatever. When the time comes, you will do it anyway. So back to what I was saying, we will get the real Natalie out of the way and you will be there instead. You will get to know things about Natalie so you can act like her perfectly and once you are in fully, I will give you your first assignment on how to kill Sinclair."
"Tell me something, how do you plan on getting Natalie out of the way?" Brielle asked.
"It's simple and that is by killing her." Archer replied with a straight face.
Brielle gasped and her hands began to shake. "Does she have to be killed?"
"If we want this to go smoothly, she has to be out of the way." Archer answered.
"Don't kill her. It is better to keep her somewhere or lock her up. Just don't kill her. When I am done with the job...or I leave she can come back."
"And who told you that you will be leaving? You wouldn't be leaving because you will forever be Natalie Harrison."
"What?!" Her jaw dropped slightly.
"The plan is for you to kill Sinclair Miller but that will be after you get him to sign all his fortunes to you alone and so when he is out of the way and I manage to get my wife out of the way too, we will both enjoy the money." Archer explained in details.
Brielle knew her brother was clearly insane to think of such plan but what can she do? Archer always gets what he wants by all means. "I don't want any money. Please once we are done with this...I want to leave."
"That's impossible, Brielle. Once you take up Natalie's identity and her life, you will keep on being Natalie for as long as you live."
"I will never be able to me again?" She asked.
"Yes. You will no longer be Brielle Allen but you will be Natalie Harrison, the daughter of Prime Minister Harrison." Archer answered.
****************************
"Where are we going, Archer?" Brielle asked as she was ushered into Archer's car.
"Where else? To see your second of course." He snorted.
Brielle'e eyes widened in surprise. "To see Natalie Harrison?! But if I have to pretend to be her, I can't let her see me!"
"Keep quiet! What do you take me for? A fool? I am not that stupid as to let her see you. I just want you to see her from a distance. If you at least see her, watch her, you will know how to act and behave right." Archer replied.
Brielle kept quiet throughout the ride. She was deeply lost in thoughts. "What have I gotten myself into?" Brielle pondered as she stared out of the window.
Not only will she be telling a lie but she will be living the life of someone else and she will be asked to kill someone and he is not just any one-He is the prince! He is the next in line to the throne! If anything goes wrong, how would she get out of it?! She mused.
The car pulled to a halt and the glass of the car was pulled down. "There she is?" Looking at her side, Archer stretched his hand and she stared outside.
Brielle gasped out loud when she saw Natalie Harrison. She looked so much like her. The only difference was that Natalie had her cut in a bob style and she was dressed in a sophisticated way She looked so gorgeous and very rich. She was talking to a man Brielle was sure that the man was in his late fifties. Natalie looked angry at the man and she was shocked to see what she did next. She slapped the old man and yelled some insults at him before walking in.
"As you can see yourself, Natalie is some one who don't tolerate any nonsense. She is very heartless and spoilt and she likes to get things done in her own way." He said.
"And you expect me to act that way? It is a definite no! She was cruel too that man. I am a soft person...I don't yell at people just anyhow or raise my hand to hit someone."
"The man obviously did something to annoy her. And yes, Brielle, you have no choice than to act like her. You need to be as heartless as she is."
"I can't possibly do this, Arched. Can't you just change your mind? You don't have to work on this plan." She whispered. "What if you do it this way? As you have said, she is heartless so she should be the right one for your plan. She would have no problem killing the prince and-" Brielle couldn't complete her sentence because Archer held her throat.
"Not so loud okay! My plan is not some thing you can just say out like that and you are the one I want to do the job! Natalie might be heartless and cruel but she wouldn't do the job the way I want it! I would rather have you do it than any one else!" He retorted angrily
Brielle nodded gently just as long as he can leave her throat because his hold on it was so painful. He let her go and she breathed in heavily while massaging her neck. The car drove off. Brielle clutched her neck as she stared at him. Archer would force her into doing this and she doesn't want that, she doesn't want it at all.
As soon as he drops Brielle off, she made a decision to get her dad transferred to another country and she will leave too without leaving a trace. Her little savings at the bank should be able to help her achieve this. She can only hope that Archer would not know of this new plan of her. If he ever finds out then she would have been long gone before he catches up with her.
