Chapter 1
In the Fairfield Villa area, a luxurious banquet was underway downstairs. The wind whipped across the rooftop as several high-end helicopters hovered in the air. Jessica Morgan, dressed in a black trench coat, quickly jumped to the ground and issued an order to Lily, who stood behind her. "Keep tracking those goods. Stay vigilant."
"Yes, boss!"
Jessica removed her trench coat, tossed it to Lily, and slipped into a pale blue and green dress. "I'll head down first. Call me if anything comes up," she said indifferently. She casually touched the dust on the wall and smeared it on her face.
"Boss," Lily called out. Jessica paused. Lily immediately approached and presented a tablet to her. "We captured this while monitoring the Morgan family."
On the screen, Amanda Morgan, Jessica's half-sister, was seen whispering in a corner on the second floor with their stepmother, Sarah Johnson.
"Mom, they've been subdued. I'll go in now. Make sure to check the room at eight o'clock tomorrow morning!"
"Alright, you must succeed tonight. Otherwise, Luke Hamilton will be engaged to that silly girl next week!"
"Don't worry!"
Then, Amanda bent down and entered a guest room. The footage stopped, and Jessica's face tightened. "Interest in Luke? Ha, if I didn't need to stay in the Morgan family to investigate that matter, these two women would already be dead!"
Lily clicked on the screen to change the view. "Luke Hamilton was indeed knocked out. He's in the eastern guest room now. Amanda is next door. I've arranged for a male servant to be with her."
Jessica smiled. "Very good." Lily was her most capable assistant and knew what she was thinking. "Go to the finance department and get two bonuses."
"Thank you, boss!"
"Let's go."
Jessica left the rooftop, concealed herself in the darkness, and entered the eastern bedroom. In the pitch-black room, she saw Luke in the moonlight. "I'm sorry," she whispered, beginning to undress. She then undressed Luke, sprinkling the prepared blood on the bedsheet. Tomorrow, the show would begin!
Early the next morning, Jessica was groggy when someone suddenly grabbed her neck. "How dare you drug me!" Luke's hoarse voice was filled with sharp cruelty. Jessica woke up instantly, struggling for breath. She patted his hand in panic. "It hurts! Let go of me..."
Tears streamed down her cheeks, and her face turned pale with fear. Luke stared at her with dark eyes. "It's you," he said in a low voice. The face matched the photo. She was the silly fiancée he wanted to break off the engagement with!
"Cough, cough, cough!" Jessica coughed violently as her throat was released. Luke frowned and let her go. "How dare you drug me?" His voice remained powerful.
Jessica curled up, her eyes full of tears. "I don't understand. Don't hit me..."
Luke's brows furrowed even more. His gaze landed on her slender neck, noticing a few pink marks on her fair skin. His expression froze momentarily, but his voice remained cold. "If you don't want to break off the engagement, you're playing this trick, aren't you?"
Jessica frowned inwardly. It was said that Luke was cold and heartless. Did her tears really not affect him at all? She was momentarily distracted, but Luke grew impatient with her silence. "Turn around. I'll get dressed," he said.
Jessica pouted, turned her head, and obediently showed her back. After two minutes, hearing sounds that suggested he was dressed, she turned back only to see his upper body still exposed, revealing his muscular lines.
"Uh..." She quickly turned away, her ears turning red. Luke was indeed the dream of many unmarried women in the city.
Fully dressed, Luke turned around. "I'll give you some money as compensation," he said.
Jessica shook her head. "Luke, you have to be responsible for me!"
Luke: "..."
Chapter 2
"I'm not responsible. I came here to talk about breaking off the engagement." Dressed in a suit and leather shoes, Luke exuded the elegance and ambition of a superior.
Jessica's heart sank. She looked down, her face contorting in pain. "Oh, it hurts..." She covered her abdomen.
Luke followed her gaze and saw the bright red sheet. Was it her first time last night? He pursed his lips, an extremely complicated emotion rising in his heart, but he quickly suppressed it and turned to leave.
Jessica clenched her fists under the quilt. "Is this guy a jerk? He took my 'first' and doesn't want to take any responsibility? He just wants to give me money?"
"Luke, don't go. Wait for me..." She quickly dressed and followed him out of the room, only to encounter Sarah Johnson walking towards them with a group of servants. Sarah was stunned to see them together.
"You..." she said in surprise, her eyes full of astonishment.
"Ah!!" A scream sounded from the next room. Jessica hurriedly stepped back, appearing fearful at the thought of Amanda.
Luke noticed her trembling and his eyes darkened. "Amanda!" Her face turned pale as she rushed into the room. Luke, uninterested in the Morgan family affairs, continued walking.
Jessica looked at his resolute back, knowing it was useless to follow him. This man was as hard as a piece of wood! As she closed her eyes, the door next to her opened. Amanda's clothes were disarrayed, and a confused male servant lay on the bed.
"Why are you here?" Amanda exclaimed. The male servant pulled the quilt, further exposing Amanda. The kiss marks were bright red, showing the madness of the previous night.
"Ah!!" Amanda screamed again, nearly shaking the roof. Sarah slapped the servant. "You dog! How dare you insult my daughter!" The male servant shivered, his face pale. He didn't dare say a word.
"Take him out! Give him a beating and send him to the police station!" A group of servants immediately took away the male servant. Soon, only the mother and daughter were left in the large room. No one noticed Jessica leaning against the door, listening.
"Amanda, why did you sleep with him?" Sarah looked distressed.
Amanda gradually recovered from her panic and gritted her teeth. "I don't know. I thought he was Luke. I still wanted him to take the initiative last night. Now that I think about it-" Amanda pounded the blanket. She had been careless!
Sarah sighed deeply. "When I came here just now, I saw Luke and Jessica coming out of a room. They might..."
She stopped, but Amanda understood. "That bitch!" she shouted, gritting her teeth. She didn't expect Jessica to take advantage of him. Why did he go to the wrong room last night?
"Will Luke change his mind about marrying Jessica?" Sarah was most worried about this.
"That's impossible. Jessica is a fool. Luke isn't blind. Even if he slept with her, he wouldn't have fallen in love with her! Besides, can the Hamilton family accept a fool?" Amanda's face darkened. She snorted. "Mom, go and get Jessica. I have something to ask her."
She felt something was wrong. Last night, when she arrived at the door, she felt confused. That feeling was very strange
Chapter 3
At the door, hearing this, Jessica quickly returned to the next room, sat on the ground with the doll in her arms, and giggled.
There was a loud bang. Sarah Johnson kicked the door open and dragged her out of the room. "You're such a good-for-nothing. You're just a good-for-nothing!"
When she arrived at the bedroom, Amanda Morgan was already dressed neatly. On the coffee table, there were two pieces of shortbread and two red bills.
"Jessica, which of these two things do you want?" Amanda went straight to the point and stared at Jessica's face with her sharp eyes.
Jessica looked at the shortbread with her eyes shining. To be honest, the two notes could be used to buy 50 shortbreads. But her every move was closely watched, and she couldn't expose any details.
"I want the pastries," she said with a smile, picked up a piece, and stuffed it into her mouth. She ate in a rude way, as if she had not eaten food for only a few days.
Amanda let out a long sigh of relief. It seemed that she had thought too much, and the fool was still the fool!
She sneered, picked up a piece of shortbread, and pretended to accidentally drop it on the blanket. "Oh, I accidentally broke it. Jessica, this is the last piece of shortbread in our house. Do you want to eat it?"
A fool's logic should not have a boundary line between dirty and clean. Jessica pursed her red lips and narrowed her eyes. She took a deep breath, squatted on the ground, and picked it up. "You have to cherish your food. Of course, you have to eat the last one!" she said happily and ate it in one bite.
While chewing, she muttered, "Sister, I see that your face is a little dark. Be careful of the water these days!"
Amanda frowned. She couldn't be bothered with such nonsense. "Mom, let's go." She didn't want to waste any more time.
Sarah rolled her eyes at Jessica with disdain. When she was about to close the door, Jessica heard the conversation between Sarah and Amanda.
"Amanda, I'll shut the mouths of those servants. I won't let anyone know about what happened today."
"Okay, thank you for your hard work, Mom."
The door of the room was closed, but Jessica still didn't move. She swallowed hard, and the shortbread stuck in her throat. It hurt a little, but she had to endure it. She got up and walked to the window, looking out of the window with cold and fierce eyes. The killing intent in her eyes was bone-chilling.
Wait!
...
For two consecutive days, Luke never appeared again. The engagement agreement was still in the Morgan family's study. Jessica was a little sad. "Why didn't this scum come to see me?" Where was his conscience?
She was bored in the room, thinking about how to hook up with Luke when an irritable female voice sounded outside the room.
"Jessica, you jinx!"
The door was opened at the same time. Amanda was standing on tiptoe with a gloomy face. Jessica raised her eyebrows and looked innocent.
"What's wrong, sister..." She sobbed, pretending to be afraid and took two steps back.
Amanda was even more annoyed when she saw Jessica's pitiful eyes. She remembered that Jessica had told her not to touch water, but there was a party at the pool today. There were so many rich young people, and it was a good opportunity to get to know them. How could she not go?
As a result, as soon as she arrived at the beach, she was suddenly pulled by a seagull and bitten by a crab. What's more, she fell directly to the edge of the shallow sea and was pushed into the deep sea by the waves. A series of unfortunate events stunned everyone. Those people thought that she had gotten into trouble and persuaded her to leave before boarding the ship. And it was all because of Jessica's arrogant words!
Amanda pointed at Jessica's face and ordered the maid next to her. "Take her to the front hall garden." She had to teach this b*tch a good lesson!
