Dani hurriedly finished up her work for the day and gathered up and stuff, she needed to leave the office early, she had to go to the hospital before they close up for the day, they called her earlier saying that what she ordered was ready and she was super excited to finally push start her plans, yes, she had planned this for over two years now, while saving up every penny she earned for it and it was finally time.

"Ananda, I will be going now, see you next week,"

She told her co-worker who shares the office with her. she worked as a secretary for Luciano Miko, her boss, and her worst nightmare, he was like the richest man in the whole of the state of Nevada and had a lot going well for him, he was good to other people except her, he just hated her for no reason, little wonder why he hasn't fired her yet, she got the job to start working for him right after she left uni and she has been his secretary for over five years now and in those five years his hate for her kept increasing, he made her work late night, made her go on every business and nor business trip with him and sometimes she had to spend days or weeks in his house because he couldn't work with anyone else but her, still, he hated her, she had considered quitting one time but gave it up because he was the only one that could pay as much as he was paying her for being his secretary.

Yes, Luciano pays her well, the only good part about working for her boss.

"Dani, in my office right now,"

Luciano said as he walked into the office.

"Speaking of the devil,"

Dani muttered under her breath as she quickly dropped her bag and walked fast into his office, she had been happy that he left early only for him to come back now, she just hoped whatever brought him back here won't take long because the hospital won't wait forever and she has to get it today, she won't be coming to work tomorrow and the day after, she already had it all planned out, she just hopes her crazy boss won't ruin her plans.

"You are lucky, you get the boss's attention even though you weren't originally employed as his secretary,"

Ananda said and Dani whipped her a look that suggested she was crazy and out of her mind, she would give anything in the world not to be noticed by Luciano, he hates her, humiliates her, and many more things, she is the only secretary among the numerous secretaries that works overtime the most.

"Wanna trade places?"

Dani couldn't resist asking.

"No, thanks, I will pass,"

She answered picking up her bag and walking out of the office, Dani rolled her eyes and went up to Luciano's office.

"Sir,"

She said politely when she entered his office.

"Where are the files I asked you to print out?"

He barked and she mentally rolled her eyes, she was used to his rants and try not to let them get to her, she has been working for him for more than five years, she wasn't his main secretary or anything but he somehow disliked her to the extent of giving her all the work, yes, that was the most painful part, when she had first been employed, she had been the secretary of one of the sweetest man in the company, Peter, Luciano's one time best friend and now ex business partner, she still couldn't believe Peter did all her boss had accused him of, unfortunately, just two years after she started working here, Peter and Luciano had a major argument, Luciano accused him of squandering the company's fund, and mishandling them, not that she believed him, she thought they would fix it but then Peter left and well, back then she had thought she was going to get fired because Luciano did fire a few people who worked alongside Peter but he spared her, surprisingly, maybe he did that just to boss her around and spread his hate agenda against her.

"Dani? Are you here? Where is the file?"

He asked bringing her out of her thoughts.

"Sir, I sent it to your email because that's what you said,"

"What? You must be dumb then because I said print it out, I never said send to my mail, or you are not sensitive enough to know that I already have it in my mail?"

There he went again, that's what he said, he told her when she got to work this morning to go through the file and send it to his mail, she couldn't have forgotten so easily, he said and she quoted.

"Be done with this by the end of today and send it to my email," so what the fuck does he mean right now, she let out a low breath.

"I am sorry sir, I will have it printed out and it will be ready in fifteen minutes,"

She said.

"You should have done that before, I don't know what you come here for when it is clear you can't do a good job, you should rethink your decision to work here dummy,"

He stated without even looking at her, it wasn't his fault, not at all, it was all her fault for choosing to work with a jerk and not quitting, she hated him so much, okay not really, her boss was a hottie and had a body to die for, If 'sin' was human, he would effortlessly be the embodiment of it. That was the first word that came to mind the first time Noni had met her boss, but that quickly changed when he started treating her like shit, she just disliked him and she couldn't see herself changing that when if he is the hottest, richest bachelor in the country.

She walked out of the office, she could easily have printed it out with the printer in his office but she didn't want to be in his presence for that long and be reminded just how stupid she was when she wasn't even stupid in the first place, it was just in his head. She waited for a few more minutes after she was done printing before heading back to his office with it.

"Here it is sir, can I go now?"

She asked as she dropped the printed file on his table, he looked up at her, and their eyes collided, his deep-sea blue eyes held hers and for a moment she was lost in the beauty of his eyes, drowning in them, the man was a living, moving, walking, talking temptation, she would easily fall for his charm, all women do which is why he was very popular among women especially those glamorous models he is always pictured with, women totally out of her league.

"This is not the file I asked for."

He said bringing her out of her head, she looked back to see him frowning at her, the first thing she did was curse herself in her head, then she collected the file from him and checked, it was what he had asked for.

"This is what you asked for sure,"

She responded.

"You are sick! Why will I ask for this when the project is already a done deal? Do I look stupid to you? I asked you for the Carson project file, the fuck did you do?"

He yelled at her. She took a few steps back, this was what he asked for, she was sure, he has even sent her the Carson stuff at all.

"With all due respect sir, you haven't even sent me anything related to Carson, maybe it is the other Secretaries,"

She explained doing her ultimate best not to tell, she needed to get to the hospital, and being here arguing with her crazy boss wasn't in the schedule.

"I don't give the other Secretaries important jobs that I handle, I gave them to you!"

He responded. She just couldn't defend herself there without evidence so she brought out her phone and showed him the mail he had sent which had absolutely nothing related to Carson's project.

"Well,"

She said when the office remained silent after she showed him, now let's see how he is going to blame her for his fault.

"Well nothing, fix it, I need it by tomorrow,"

He said and walked out of the office.

"Wait! That's it? How am I supposed to fix it?"

She asked herself as she walked back out of the office, she would figure it out when she returns to work, for now, she was late and needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible, she took the stairs not wanting to follow him in the elevator and have him send her back to the office to fix his problem...

Dani ran into the hospital while cursing her boss and her bad luck in her mind,she prayed they weren't done for the day yet, she was supposed to have been here earlier, she walked fast to the reception and asked for the doctor, she let out a sigh of relief when the receptionist told her the doctor was still around, it wasn't the usual hospital but a fertility center, mainly based on family-related matters, their main focus being

"I am sorry I took so long doc, I was delayed by someone, I am so sorry,"

Dani said trying to catch her breath, the doctor y a pretty woman in her mid-forties smiled.

"It is okay, I am on night duties anyway,"

"Aha, that's cool,"

Dani said.

"Wait here and I will go get it, kind you, you have to admister within the next Thirty minutes,"

She advised. Dani was aware, she has read all the pros and cons, and she was ready, it won't take her up to thirty minutes to get home and all she needed to do was take a bath and do it.

"That's not a problem ma'am,"

Dani responded as the doctor excused herself, Dani smiled proudly, when she had first thought of this when her then boyfriend had broken up with her, she had felt it was the most stupid thing to come up with but break up after break up, it kept eating at the back of her mind until she finally decided to give it a go and the next big thing was save up, with how well Luciano paid her, it only took her one year to save up and finally she was getting it.

Getting back into her car, Dani drove home feeling fly, she was excited to finally be able to kick start her biggest goal in life, Dani have always wanted to be a mom and at one point a wife to but it became clear that it wasn't in her fate for her to be a wife, after going through series of heartbreak and even being in an abusive relationship, Dani had given up every thoughts of being a wife and instead held up to her dream of being a mom, she was so close to achieving it now, it had been expensive but she knew it would be worth every penny, she had saved up her salary, and got everything she needed.

"I believe I can't fly,"

She sang as she happily drove home, this was it, she already made long term plans concerning her baby and she was going to make sure her child has the best of the best only, growing up as a child at the orhanage had been tough for her but she had managed to get out of the hell hole, yeah orhanages were great and all but not when the older kids make it their daily habit to beat up and bully the younger and weak kids and certainly not when the sisters who are supposed to be watching them turn a blind eye to it and even pick favorites.

"No, Dani, no negative thoughts,"

She said out loud but she couldn't help thinking about how lonely it had been for her growing up, she was the quiet child, she was the ugly child, the one who was always left behind during activities, it didn't change when she was adopted either, the only thing her adopted parents gave her was a way to start her life, she had taken the bait and worked odd jobs at the young age of Fifteen, saved up, read hard and thankfully, her hard works paid off, she had gotten a full scholarship to Nevada state university, right after she got into Uni, her adopted parents moved out of Nevada without her knowledge and almost eight years later, she still hasn't heard of them again.

She yelled out loud and for once, she listened to herself and kept all her thoughts away, she got home and parked her car, it was already dark, and she took her bag from her car and walled to her apartment, the first thing she did was eat, she had leftover food and all she needed to do was reheat it and she was good to go.

She didn't bother getting up from the bed after she was done, she closed her eyes and sang herself to sleep...

Dani was woke up the next morning by the ringing of her phone, at first she ignored it and tried to get some more sleep but the phone kept ringing nonstop that she had no choice than to pick up and see who it was.

"Luciano!"

She breathed and she dropped the phone back, why was he calling her when it is her week off? God help him if he want her to come to work because she wasn't going to have it.

"Leave me alone,"

She yelled when the phone continued ringing. But after a few more minutes, she decided to pick up.

"Are you stupid? Why were you not taking your calls? And why haven't you resumed work yet, it is pasted eight am,"

Luciano said and she checked the time on her walk, yup twenty pass eight.

"That's because I don't have to come in for work for the next week sir, it is my week off,"

She informed, picking up her glasses and putting it on.

"Who told you that you can take a week off after the mess you made yesterday?"

He yelled at her and she just pushed the phone away from her ear, he was always yelling at her, it got on her nerve a lot more than she lets on but he was her boss and she didn't want to be out of a job so she just bear it, but maybe it was time to speak up and tell him to bring his voice down.

"With all due respect sir, it is my week off and yesterday was more of your mistake than mine,"

She corrected. Ain't no way she was going to let him blame her for something that was his fault, he should explain to the investors why he had the wrong email sent to his secretary and had her working on it for hours only to realize it wasn't what she was meant to be working on, she wasn't going to take the fall for his negligence.

"You talk back at me? don't test my patience, get to work immediately, I don't want to wait up to thirty minutes for you dummy,"

His voice echoed over the phone, if he wasn't such a jerk, his voice would be enough to give a woman orgasm, deep and raspy, on those days she can't control herself, she use to imagine how his voice will sound like when he whispers her name in pleasure, she already knew it would sound so sinful, she shook her head to clear off the thought, she was damn serious about her no man new rules, not even whoring on her boss, no way.

Even if she wanted to go, she couldn't, she didn't want anything to go wrong, which is why she had chosen when she will be home to do it, ain't no way she was going to allow him ruin it when she paid heavily for it, the whole procedure cost more than she had spent in years and no way was he going to make her give it up for him when he was a total jerk to her all the time.

"Is that so? Well I will tell you what, if you don't show up at work today, you better not come back, you just got from there, I don't want to ever see you here again if you don't show up today, not even to come pick up your stuff!"

He threatened. She didn't bother to o take it to heart, this wasn't the first time he would threaten her so she was used to it, he always threatens to fire her at the slightest provocation, most of which are not even her fault to begin with, the man just hated her for weird reasons known to him only.

"Yes sir, have a nice day sir,"

"Oh you are so done for,"

He responded and hung up, she just dropped her phone and laid back down lazily, she would deal with the consequences when she gets back to work, beside she would have to quit soon, she already has enough savings for both her and her baby, enough to last them until her little one is old enough to be in preschool, then she can get another job, she kind of wish she didn't have to quit but she knew Luciano enough to know that he wasn't going to give her a maternal leave even though she was qualified for it being that she has been working for five years.

"Get your lazy ass off the bed and let's go eat,"

The annoying voice in her head yelled at her.

"No, I need more sleep,"

She responded, closing her eyes to do just that...

Dani was once again woken by the ringing of her phone.

"I am going to swear at him!"

She let out as she checked her phone and it wasn't him calling but her best friend, Keira.

"Hey, girl?"

She greeted still sleepy.

"You are still in bed? By this time? You didn't go to work?"

Keira asked and Dani rolled her eyes getting off the bed and going over to her restroom to pee.

"It's my week off dummy, I told you before,"

She said and heard Keira laugh, K has been her best friend since uni and was the only constant in her life right now, her one true cheerleader.

"Aha, I thought you were capping because you barely take any break even when you say you will,"

"That's right and it is all thanks to that jerk who is my boss,"

She let out remembering her phone call with the damn man, she just wanted to pinch him hard.

"Him being a jerk doesn't stop you from crushing on him though,"

Keira said with a knowing laugh, yeah, Dani had made the mistake of telling her about the crush she once had on her boss even though she told her she no longer liked him, Keira wasn't just buying it.

"K? Shut the fuck up, I don't like him, and I am off work, don't bring him up, it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth,"

"That's right, have you done that stuff?"

She asked and Dani nodded before realizing that Keira wasn't with her.

"Yes, I did it last night, and to be honest I don't know if it will work out fine the first time but I do hope it does,"

She said as she flushed the toilet and washed her hands before exiting her restroom, she lay on her bed.

"Don't worry, I think it will work out just fine, I will come around to see you, I have a client, bye,"

Keira said and ended the call before Dani could say anything else, Keira was a stylist and owned her own business, unlike her, she hated working for people, Dani wished she was as industrious as her friend, but she wasn't, and that was it, she would ruin a business if she ever tried to start one.

"Shut up,"

She told herself as she got off the bed and went to her kitchen to make herself some late breakfast.

Dani spent the rest part of her week at home, not that she couldn't leave the house, she just didn't want to leave, her best friend Keira came around as promised and they had fun together.

"Wish I don't have to go to work,"

She said out loud and she checked her reflection in the mirror one last time before walking out of her apartment, all through the week, she had tried not to be tempted into carrying out a test to find out if it had worked, it will take up to two weeks or more before it shows anyway and she didn't want to bother herself with it even though it was damn hard, she told herself she would wait the two weeks no matter what and hoped for the best, she had been careful enough not to do anything that would ruin her plans and so far, she could say she was doing well.

Walking out of her apartment, she rushed to the car and started it immediately, she didn't want to be late on her first day back at work, she already knew Luciano would be mad at her and she already prepared herself for his ranting, as long as she doesn't answer to him and just keep apologizing then everything would be fine, she deserved the rest that was certain.

The energy in the office when she got there was kind of cold, no one spoke to her other than brief greetings, she was so tempted to ask if something was wrong but just let it be, it was Monday and people always act out on Mondays especially when they have to work with a man like Luciano, she focused on getting the works she had left hanging during her break done.

"Why are you in this office?"

She heard Luciano's voice and shot up in shock, she hadn't even noticed when he had entered the secretaries office.

"Good morning sir,"

She greeted promptly politely, one look at him showed that he was angry and she looked away.

"Keep your greetings to yourself, I want you out of this building right now,"

He said to her.

"I am sorry, did I do something wrong?"

She asked as politely as she could, he was already pissed, she didn't want to do anything that would annoy him more.

"You are asking me that? Dani? Really?"

"Yes sir,"

She answered wondering why he was so pissed, he took a few steps close to her and she could feel the energy radiating from him and it wasn't a good one at all, it got her scared.

"I told you not to come back here right? You are trying me? You wanna see what I can do?"

Luciano asked her in a super pissed voice, she took a few steps away from him.

"I am sorry if I offended you sir, but it was my week off and I was stressed out, I needed to rest,"

She said politely.

"Well, we all need to rest that's why there is night and there are weekends, don't make any excuses for your laziness, I won't accept it and I don't want to talk about it!"

He responded, he was so inconsiderate, he made her work over time, even as far as spending some night at his place where they work to the late hours of the night and she never complains, one week to herself and he wants her gone?

"Sir, with all due respect, I earned that rest, I have been working tirelessly for months now, not even taking a break, weekends? I barely know what that is because I also work during the weekends, the night. I stay up late too!"

She let out doing her best not to raise her voice over his.

"Well! You don't have to do it anymore, you are fired!"

He said to her and walked away, she couldn't believe what she just heard, fired? She didn't even do anything, he couldn't just up and fire her, okay technically he could but still, she wasn't going to have it, she followed behind him and got into his office in time before he could slam the door in her face.

"Get out of my office right now while I am being nice Dani!"

He said to her in an angry voice.

"I haven't done anything that I should be fired for, it is not fair, you can't just fire me,"

She said as the reality of the fact that she might be out of a job dawned on her, she wasn't ready yet, yeah, she was going to quit but not now, she still needed the salary for the next five months, she couldn't be out of a job now, she knew no company would employ a pregnant woman.

"Dani, you are fired! This is my company and I can fire whoever I want to and you are out!"

This was bad, so bad, what makes it worse was that he was calling her by her name, she was so used to him calling her anything but her name that the mention of her name just made this all worse.

"I don't deserve this, all I did was take a break!"

She cried out.

"No, not just take a break, you did way more than that bitch! I told you to come back to work, I waited for you and because of you I lost a deal that would have made me millions, you should leave while I am still being nice,"

He yelled at her pointing at the door.

"What? How would I do that?"

She asked shocked beyond words, what did he even mean by that? She was aware of all his ongoing deals and knew just how important they were to him but she didn't ever think he would lose money because of her, no way was it because of f her.

"You are asking me, Danielle? Really? I told you to come here and fix things but you stayed away and your coworker made a mess of everything, I fired her and since you are the reason this happened in the first place, you are fired too, get out of my company right now!"

He yelled at her angrily.

"You can't fire me, I didn't do anything wrong, this is not right, I need my job, especially right now, you can't do this to me,"

She cried, she didn't expect things to go this way, why was he making everything about her when it wasn't even her fault?

"If you don't leave this minute, I will call security on you, just so you know I am going to leave a bad review on your resume and make sure you don't get a good job elsewhere, you deserve to suffer for what you did!"

He yelled at her, at this point, she knew nothing was funny anymore, she couldn't stand losing her job now, or she already did, she hated to beg but she didn't have a choice, how was she going to start looking for a job right now? That would be next to impossible.

"I am sorry sir, it won't happen again, please don't fire me, I need this job please, I can't be out of a job, especially not right now please,"

She pleaded, going against her will and kneeling down.

"Begging won't help you, Dani, I made up my mind already, I have tolerated your nonsense attitude enough, one would think with how well I pay you that you would do a good job but you are always slacking and always so forgetful and clumsy, I refuse to let you be here anymore, you are practically useless,"

He barked out, his words were hurtful but she couldn't even blame him, she was sure it was because of the pain of losing so much money, she didn't know how it was her fault since he wasn't telling her the full details.

"I am sorry, I promise I will do better now, please, I can't lose my job,"

"You already did bitch, you already did, if you valued your job you would have shown up when I told you to, I pay you for your time but you waste it and make me lose a deal? Kneeling won't cut it, woman, get out,"

He said as he picked up the office line and spoke to security, she didn't want to be led out of the office by security so she got up, wiped off the tears that gathered in her eyes, and silently left his office, she found her other coworkers panicking, she didn't bother to speak to them, just went to her table, gathered up her stuff just as the security people walked into their shared office.

"No need to say anything, I will leave on my own,"

She said and walked past the men, they followed silently behind her as she walked to the elevator and out of the company, she got into her car and drove off in sadness...
