Chapter 1 Meet Cute

Meadowcreek high school, the senior year 2010

Monday morning.

Eighteen year old Damien Sky groaned and shivered violently as the cold water dripped down his body. His ideal temperature was steaming hot water. So hot that the entire bathroom was usually hot and foggy, and the water would almost burn his skin.

But not today.

Today he had to settle with cold water as the hot water would make his wounds sting. The fresh new scars that decorated his back and thigh last night were still raw and painful. When will it end? He thought and sighed as he realized how pointless this question was. He quickly put on some clothes. The fabric rubbed against his scars, but he ignored the pain and hurried to his car. He couldn't be late for class again. Principal Hale would have his head and call his father to his office again. He couldn't have that.

He decided to make a quick stop at Robbie's house. Robbie was his best friend and the only person he trusted with all his secrets. He accepted Damien for who he was and never judged him.

Damien turned the doorknob at Robbie's house, and it opened right away. Robbie's parents were never home, and he didn't believe in locking his door. It was a surprise that they didn't get robbed already.

"Robbie! Get your ass downstairs. We are gonna be late!" Damien yelled from the top of his lungs.

"I'm coming! No need to get your panties in a twist, Jesus Christ," Robbie shouted from upstairs. Damien heard him stomping downstairs after a moment.

"Morning dickhead," Robbie greeted Damien and slapped him on the back.

"Fuck.." Damien winced. "That hurt, asshole."

Robbie frowned. "Shit, dude...my bad. It happened again last night?" his gaze softened. He looked at his friend with sympathy.

"Don't worry about it. Just another day in the life of Damien Sky." Damien laughed. Robbie didn't say anything else and turned away. There was nothing he could do for his friend, no matter how badly he wanted to help him.

They split up and went to class as they had different schedules.

"I'll see you at lunch. Take it easy," Robbie said before storming off.

The first and second period was eventless. Damien lazily got up and walked into his 3rd-period class, which was science.

"Nice of you to show up on time, Mr. Sky," the science teacher Mrs. Anders remarked as soon as he stepped inside. Bitch...

Damien glared at her but quietly took his seat. The last thing he needed was another detention.

"Hey Damien, are we still on for tonight?" Damien looked to his side as Julie Mathews spoke to him.

"What's tonight?" he was confused. Did he forget about a party? Robbie didn't mention anything about that.

"Damien! You were supposed to come over and help me with math, remember?" Julie giggled.

"I don't know shit about math. Are you kidding me?" Damien was starting to get irritated. What the hell was she talking about? He never made such a promise to her.

"By math, I mean..." Julie placed her hand on his thigh and gave it a quick stroke. She looked at him and winked.

Oh.

He finally understood what she meant. She wasn't planning on doing homework. She was suggesting that they fu...

His thought was suddenly interrupted as he heard a new pair of footsteps entering the classroom.

"Oh, you must be Adeline!" Mrs. Anders chirped.

He turned his attention away from Julie and looked at the door to see who it was as he never heard that name before.

A girl in a light green dress stood before him. She had a slender figure that resembled those on the cover of a magazine. She had a head full of thick, brown hair that framed her face perfectly. Her blue eyes were big and bright. She had a cute button nose and plump lips. She was petite. If he stood next to her, he'd tower over her. He tried to imagine what it would feel like to feel her soft skin against his. His jeans tightened at the thought.

"Class, we have a new student. Say hello to Adeline James," Mrs. Anders announced.

"Hello," some of the students murmured while the others stayed quiet.

"Hi," she smiled. Even her voice sounded pretty, Damien thought.

"Take that empty seat in front of Mr. Sky over there," Mrs. Anders suggested.

Great...a chance to get close to her, Damien thought to himself.

She walked over to her desk and sat down in front of him without saying a word. He leaned over and tapped her on the shoulder. She looked back questioningly. "Can I help you?" she asked. Her eyes were hard.

Damien was taken aback by her cold behavior. Most girls in his school had a crush on him, and he was used to them flirting with him. What was her problem?

"I am Damien," he said.

"I know, and I don't care," Adeline replied and turned around.

Huh? She knows? Then what's with the attitude? He tapped her shoulder again.

"What?" she asked, sounding more aggressive.

"Quiet back there!" Mrs. Anders yelled.

"What's your problem, new girl?" Damien whispered so Mrs. Anders can't hear him.

"What do you mean?" Adeline rolled her eyes.

"Why are you acting like you hate me? We just met," Damien asked.

"Why are you so self-centered and obnoxious?" Adeline asked in a hushed tone.

What the fuck? Damien thought, then instantly grinned. It looks like the new girl was full of sass. It'd be fun to tame her like a wild beast. No girl can resist him in the end, and she will be no different.

If anything his father taught him was this, he had to take it if he wanted something. It didn't matter who got hurt in the process, and that was exactly what he intended to do.

Chapter 2 She was a virgin

"Adeline, wait!"

Adeline halted as he heard a deep voice behind her. She had no desire to talk to him.

Maybe I should ignore his call and keep walking. Then he'll go away, she thought.

It wasn't like she intended to hate him from the beginning. She didn't even know she existed. It wasn't even until Tracy told her about him and what he did to her. She grew to detest him even before she met him. And when she saw him for the first time, her hatred only grew bigger.

At first glance, he was extremely good looking. He was tall, lean, and muscular with tanned skin and dark brown hair. And when he smiled at her, his piercing blue eyes twinkled with humor, and dimples teased his cheeks. His smile was dangerous enough to sweep any girl off their feet.

No wonder Tracy fell for that, Adeline thought bitterly.

She yelped as she suddenly felt someone grabbing her arm and yanking toward them forcefully.

"Hey! Let go!" Adeline cried. "You can't just grab a girl like that," she hissed.

"I can, and I did. What the hell is your problem? Why are you avoiding me?" Damien asked. He looked more curious than angry.

"I don't want to breathe the same air as you, that's why. Now let go. I have to go to lunch," Adeline tried to pull her arm free, but his grip was strong.

"Good, it's my lunchtime too, so you're coming with me," Damien announced and pulled her away from the cafeteria.

"Hey! Stop it! I don't want to go with you," Adeline protested and tried to stay in place. There was no way she'd go with him.

Damien paused and stared at her intently, still not letting go of her arm. "Alright then, since you aren't going to walk with me, you leave me no choice," he said gruffly.

"What do you mean walk..."

He suddenly grabbed her waist and picked her up, then threw her on his shoulder like a sack of rice.

No way...

She thought in disbelief as he carried her somewhere. He was kidnapping her in front of students at the cafeteria. Someone will come to her rescue, right?

No one did. Some of the students glanced in their direction and went back to their food like it was nothing. What the hell was wrong with these kids?

"Put me down, you imbecile! What do you think you're doing?" Adeline flailed around and punched his back, but all she did was hurt her own knuckles while he kept walking like he didn't feel a thing.

"I am carrying you outside since you refused to walk with me like a good girl," Damien remarked.

"Like a good girl? Who do you think you are?" Adeline cried.

"Damien Sky, at your service. Now shut up until we reach our destination. We are going right outside, inside the school perimeter, so no need to cry bloody murder. I'm not going to hurt you," he said.

He didn't lie when he said they weren't going far. He put her down right behind the school cafeteria building. A single table stood on the ground. It was quiet, away from the school crowd.

He put her down on top of the table and leaned forward to look into her eye. "Told you I wasn't kidnapping you. See? We are right outside," he smiled.

"Fuck you. This is still kidnapping, jackass," Adeline sneered. She could hardly contain her anger. She wanted to scratch his pretty face.

"Alright, I used force. Only because you refuse to talk to me," he declared.

"I am not obligated to talk to you," she said.

"I get that, but there must be a reason why you hate me so much. As far as I know, today's your first day here. Have we met before? Did I do something to you?" Damien asked. He looked genuinely confused, so Adeline decided to reveal the truth.

"Remember Tracy Smith?"

"Err...who?" Damien looked genuinely confused.

"TRACY! She was a freshman last year when you were a junior. Tall, blond, curvy with big brown eyes?" Adeline cried.

"Tracy, Tracy, Freshmen....oh!" Damien's eyes brightened at the recollection. "Tracy with giant boobs?" he chuckled.

"You're disgusting, but yes. That Tracy," Adeline said irritably.

"What about her?" he asked.

"She is my cousin, and you screwed her over!" she glared at him.

"More like screwed her, and she loved it," Damien smirked.

"Stop being an asshole!" Adeline pushed him, but he didn't budge. "What about Tracy?" Damien asked.

"She is my cousin! You slept with her and then ignored her right away. Don't you care about her feelings at all?" Adeline groaned. Damien looked like he had no remorse. This conversation was not going well.

"Tracy should've known what she was getting into. Everyone knows I don't do relationships, so if I sleep with a girl, it's a one-time thing," he said nonchalantly, making her blood boil.

"She was a virgin," Adeline tried to get through to him. Tracy is like a sister to her. At first, she didn't tell anyone about Damien. She stayed in her room all day and cried silently. Her mother called Adeline in an attempt to cheer her up. When Adeline came inside Tracy's room to check on her, she was shocked. Her room was a mess, and she looked like she hadn't slept for days. All because of some guy.

"She had to change school because of you. You made her fall into depression," Adeline insisted.

"I didn't make her do shit. Jeez...chicks are so dramatic. It wasn't like I raped her or anything. She was more than willing to get a taste of Damien Skye, and I figured, why the fuck not? And now she wants me to date her just because? Fuck that noise," Damien declared. He was starting to sound angry, but Adeline ignored it.

"You should've walked away when you found out she was a virgin. Why won't you be with her anyway?" she asked him.

"She is not my type," he replied.

Not his type? He just wanted to use her. Adeline thought, and anger bubbled inside her.

"Tracy is beautiful," she said.

"Sure. That doesn't change the fact that I only wanted her body. She was just like any other girl. A toy I can play with. And when I am done, it's time to go," Damien said and smiled cruelly.

Adeline couldn't handle it anymore and let her anger get the best of her. She raised her hand and swung at his disgusting dimpled face.

Chapter 3 I bet she tastes as good as she looks

SMACK!

Damian looked shocked at first as Adeline's hand landed on his cheek, but then, his lips twisted into a grin.

The girl got fire inside, and he liked that. It'll be more fun to try and tame her.

"What are you smiling about, asshole? Do you think this is a joke?" Adeline was fuming.

"No, I don't. And I dare you to hit me again, " he said and grabbed her hand. "Go ahead. Use your other hand to hit me again and then see what happens," he said in a low and menacing tone.

Adeline shivered. Amusement suddenly disappeared from Damien's eyes, and it was replaced by darkness. He had stopped playing with her. He was starting to get angry.

But she couldn't show him weakness. She was still not scared of him. He can go fuck himself.

"I'm not scared of you," her voice shook, indicating she wasn't completely honest.

Damien leaned over. "I get that you're trying to look out for your cousin, but I don't want her. I want you," his eyes were dark and determined.

Adeline felt her heart flutter, but she ignored it. It didn't matter how good-looking this guy was. He was still an asshole.

"Just leave me alone," she said and stood up to leave. Damian stood up too and towered over her.

Adeline shivered when she looked into his icy blue eyes. There was something feral about the way he looked at her. Something other than anger.

Lust.

He suddenly grabbed her waist and pressed his lips on hers, not so gently. His tongue forcefully parted her mouth.

Adeline froze in place. She placed her hands on his chest to push him off. Instead, she gripped his shirt tightly. Before she knew what was happening, she found herself kissing him back.

Fuck, she tastes better than I imagined, he thought with his eyes closed.

Adeline's eyes snapped open as if she had just woken up from her trance. She shoved him off immediately. Her face was flushed. She was fuming.

"Y...you asshole!"

"You don't want to cross me, babygirl. When I want something, I take it," Damien sneered in response.

Adeline stormed off without saying another word.

She is bold but stupid, Damien thought to himself. He lit a cigarette and decided to forget about her for the day.

"There's no smoking in the school property."

Damien smirked as he heard his sister's voice behind him.

"What I do is none of your business," Damien barked.

Natasha sky stood in front of Damien with a sly grin on her face. She had witnessed the entire interaction between her brother and the new girl.

"You just couldn't help pouncing on the fresh meat, huh asshole?" she remarked.

Damien narrowed his eyes. "Is that a problem for you, my dear sister?"

"I just think she seems a little different than your usual taste. Kinda plain if you ask me," Natasha scoffed.

"Then you must be blind or stupid," he barked.

"Whatever, I came here to ask you for a favor," Natasha hesitated.

"What the fuck do you want?" Damien asked crudely.

"Well...um...I kind of spent all my allowance, so I was wondering if you could give me more cash," Natasha scratched her neck and let out a nervous laugh.

"You're shitting me, right? You spent your entire allowance? What the hell are you doing, Tasha? You've been seeing Marco again, haven't you?" Damien gripped her shoulder and glared at her. Natasha's smile didn't falter as she was used to Damien's aggressive behavior.

"So what if I am? Can I have some money from you, or should I try somewhere else?" she said with a tight jaw.

Damien trod carefully. He didn't want Natasha to get in any more trouble. She was still his sister. "Fine, here's a 100 bucks. Get the fuck out of my face," he snarled.

"Thank you! I knew I could count on you, bro," she tiptoed to give him a hug then ran off. Damien sighed. He wanted to help his sister in anyway he could, but she made it difficult for him. He decided to forget about it and head back to his class.

He halted in the middle of the hallway as he saw Adeline standing in front of her locker. A few feet away from her stood two boys. Damien recognized them as his younger brother's goons.

"Look at her ass, sexy, isn't it?" the one with jet black hair cackled.

"I bet she tastes as good as she looks," the tall one with blonde hair whispered.

Typical assholes lusting over the new girl, Damien thought irritably. He wasn't surprised as he had the same thing in mind for her, but he couldn't let them have her before him! He made a mental note to keep an eye on her, then kept walking toward his class.

After school, it was time for his secret training session. The worst part of the day. Nope, scratch that. It was only one of the worst things. At least he made his own choice to attend this as opposed to what his family put him through. He sighed and changed into his workout clothes, then headed to the private gym.

"Damien Sky. I'm surprised you showed up after our last session," his Prepod Antove raised his eyebrows. I hope we won't have any more problems with disciplines this time?"

Damien rolled his eyes. "I'm here to learn Prepod, don't worry," he said.

"Good. Get on the floor and start."

He prepared himself mentally to fight his opponent. He had been secretly learning Systema, a Russian martial art developed for the Russian special forces. It was designed to teach him endurance, high tolerance for pain, and concentration. All of these what he needed in order to survive. To make sure his enemies never get up after he kicked their ass.

He stared at his opponent, who was in the position to attack him. All he had to do today was doge him.

He could do just that, but his concentration broke as his opponent punched him in the gut. He yelped and threw a punch back, but the other guy was able to dodge his attack.

"CONCENTRATE!" Antonove yelled from across the room.

But Damien wasn't listening. Pain shot through his body, and he was blinded by rage. He lunged at his opponent and tried to tackle him without using the techniques he learned so far. The other man grabbed him easily and flung him on the ground.

Shit, he got angry and acted rashly again.

Prepod walked over to him and looked down at him. His eyes were full of disappointment. "You've been training for an entire year but still have no discipline. Moron," he shook his head.

Damien groaned. This was going to another long training session.
