A smile pulled at the sides of her lips as the houses burnt to the ground, the flame reflecting in her glass green eyes. It was a beautiful sight. Gripping her sword tight, one whose tilt was covered in red stones and design, she walked, not really slowly, but not fast either, just right for the powerful delta that she was.
She was the delta of the most terrifying pack of the three moons, the split moon pack. This pack was brutal, especially to packs from other countries, strays, rogues and any kind of enemy. They were not only known for their terror, but also for their ability to venture out and kill anyone they wanted to.
She walked regally, her soldiers parting the way for her between the dead bodies. Finally, she came face to face with the alpha of the full moon pack. He was held on both sides by two of her soldiers, and he looked weary, and she even caught a glimpse of tears as he saw his beta, Alec's head on the bare floor. He looked back to her.
"You...you're the delta of split moon?"
She laughed.
"You had been planning this all this while...why did you have to come to me as a helpless rogue? Why as a friend? I liked...no, I loved you. I helped you. Why? Why not attack upfront? You could have won."
He said, his emotions tumbling out. Her stunning green eyes were filled with pride, one that made him want to gag.
"What would be the fun in that?"
She said tilting her head to the side a bit and feigning a pout
. "Just attack you and leave? No way."
She studied him.
"You are weak. So, so weak. Love this, love that."
She laughed, moved closer and placed a long finger on his right cheek, then tapped it twice.
"Weak."
She muttered again, a sickly sweet smile on her face.
"I don't know, I never really had a home."
"You are beautiful."
"Well, you could be my delta and if you do, I never have to find a mate."
"I really like you."
All those memories came tumbling and anger brewed inside him. He felt hurt and betrayed, but he chose to put that aside. He let the anger in.
She had turned to give orders and slowly, his vision blurred till there was nothing as he closed his eyes. He opened it, his eyes a dark red. He raised one hand to the air and closed it slowly, balling his fist.
Suddenly, there was nothing. No orders, no steel, no noise, just silence. He was looking at her, who was struggling to move. Everyone around her was lying dead. There were literally the only ones in their world.
Then just like that, the sounds came back, this time, not of steel, but bones cracking, of liquids squishing and out of the corner of her eye, she saw beta Alec cracking and stretching his neck. But....she saw him die. She saw his head roll off. She turned to him, whose eyes were now steely silver, with a shade of blue.
"Well, I'm glad I was a good son,"
his voice sounded deep and cold and musical.
"And I made sure to listen to my mum when she told me not to reveal everything to even the closest of friends."
Isabella yawned and stretched as sunlight poured in through the open window. Well, trust her to forget to close the windows after a heavy make out with Alpha Cole. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and touched her lips which were swollen, just noticeably. She cursed under her breath and stood, going to wash her face.
Her room was big and beautiful and her queen sized bed was draped in red. Most of the things in her room were in the bloody hue. She stepped into the open balcony, her brown hair flying behind her. She could see the entire pack, the houses, the common house...it looked so familiar, it was boring. What would a bored delta do in here? She shook her head and stepped back in, closing the balcony. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Sighing, she stood up from the edge of the bed, removed her sleeping cloths, dropped them on the floor and went into the bathroom. The water was against her white skin, sliding on it as she closed her eyes and let it sink in. She walked out when she thought she was clean enough and proceeded to dress.
It was her normal wear. Black on red. Black skinny leather trousers, with a black crop top, and her red cape. She loved the cape. It was red, with embroidery of gold at the edges and in a straight vertical line at the back. She wore black knee boots and combed her hair.
"Did anyone tell you how stunning you look in those trousers?"
She rolled her eyes and turned to face alpha Cole. His beta, beta Chris was behind him and he was smiling, just a bit.
"Get out, Cole. You're sickening."
He huffed and entered, leaving the beta whose shoulders dropped as he closed the door.
"Says the girl who couldn't keep her hands off me last night."
He said and she simply continued brushing her hair. Ponytail or loose? She was finding it hard to decide, before she felt him hold up her hair, pushing it to the left and held her shoulders. He leaned close, close enough for her to feel his breath on her skin. He leaned even closer and she simply watched him through the mirror. He brushed his lips on her neck, before kissing it and she rolled her eyes and used a hand to push his face away.
"That's boring."
"Boring? How can you say that? Many girls would die for that."
"Well, I'm not many girls",
she said doing the quotation with her fingers. "
I'm going out."
His eyebrows shot up.
"To where?"
"To wherever cause you and your little pack are so damn boring I will go insane if I stay here. "
. He rolled his eyes
"for the record, this pack is nothing but little. Second, its our pack, not my pack, delta."
He said the Last one with emphasis just to irritate her.
"Whatever. I'll be back tomorrow, or the next or next week or next month or next year. Whenever"
she said, her hand ready on the door knob.
"So, who am i gonna, you know...." "I don't. Get a cheap girl, will you?"
She opened the door, letting herself brush past the beta, touching him just a little. He closed his eyes, but opened them and smiled a little, before making way for the Alpha.
"How can you say that? You're my delta."
She didn't say a word, until she reached the yard and got ready to run. She looked back, and saw him looking perplexed, annoyed and amused at the same time.
"I'll see you when i see you. "
she said and took off.
"I swear, if she wasn't so damn sexy, I would have thrown her out of this pack."
He said under his breath and beta Chris chuckled.
"She's also the delta."
He added and looked into the distance where she had gone and he sighed, like a little kid who's seen an ice cream. Cole lifted his upper lip in disgust and stared him down. Chris didn't even notice. He then eyed him from head to toe before walking away, leaving him standing, just staring into the distance.
"When you're done ogling my fiancée, can you come help me over here?"
He heard Cole's voice and he immediately came back to his senses.
"Yeah, I'm here."
He said and jogged towards his Alpha.
"You look better than you did yesterday, Alpha."
"Why not call me by my name, Alec?"
Alec laughed.
"Because your name is too damn long."
He answered, rolling his eyes and that earned him a friendly punch.
"Whatever. Call me Evander. That's the name my mum gave me, and I love it."
He said, wearing his riding boots. Alec chose to ignore that and asked, eyeing his boots.
"Are you going somewhere?" Evander nodded.
"Yep. Want to come along?"
"Where exactly are you going to?"
Evander paused a bit, as if thinking about it.
"A quick stroll." He said.
"A quick stroll?"
"Yeah, a quick stroll".
He answered again and took his ring. It was silver, a hue that matched his eyes as if one was carved out of the other. Alex moved towards the door, opened it and stood aside so Evander would pass through. He chuckled at the exaggerated gesture, before passing through and once he did, Alec stepped out too and closed the door behind him.
"Let's race."
Evander said, Stopping in the middle of their stroll.
"I knew it. You just wanted to get revenge for last time."
Alec said, feigning hurt.
"You didn't think I would let you off that easily, did you?"
He crouched, getting into position.
"Of course".
Alec too crouched and Evander started the countdown.
"One"
He said and glanced over to Alec, who was breathing hard, anticipating the run.
"Two"
he said and faced his front, crouching even lower. His muscles were tensed now and his eyes had a slight shade of blue. One that indicated his wolf's mood, need for dominance or just happiness.
"Three"
and both of them were off, Evander leading as Alec's agility was no match for Evander's swiftness. Suddenly, Evander screeched to an abrupt halt and paused a bit, sniffing around.
"What is it?"
Alex said, jogging back to him since he couldn't stop that abruptly.
"Someone's here. And its no ordinary wolf."
Alec sniffed and looked to him.
"Its that way,"
he said, pointing towards a straight path, opposite where they were standing. Reaching an unspoken agreement, both of them broke into a run, Evander still leading.
"What's that smell?"
Isabella mumbled, sniffing around as she perceived it coming closer. She soon heard the sound of feet shuffling and voices, and quickly hid behind a small patch of grass and stones, bringing out her small but very dangerous pocket knife. Well, it was dangerous, as long you knew how to wield it.
"Someone's here."
She heard the voice say and peeked to catch a glimpse. There were two people and one was standing with his back to her. He was average, both of them weren't really that tall, but one was taller than the other. They were different, very different. The one whose back was turned to her and was shorter, had jet black hair, it was long, and she knew somehow that it fell in front of his eyes and covered one.
Maybe the right one or the left. Whatever. Hella sexy! But then she turned to the one who was facing her, well, not exactly, but she could see his face. He was blonde. Hell, his hair was almost white and styled in this cute boy way. His eyes were...wait, what? Is that silver? What sort of wolf was this?
"Alpha, I cant see anyone."
The short one said and she examined him more. He was beautiful, the innocent sort of beautiful. Well, alpha, huh? She brought out her pocket knife and tore the sides of her trousers, then the sleeve of her shirt. After that, she tucked the knife deep into her trousers so no one would see it. She laid down, just enough so they could see her legs and groaned. A groan anyone would mistake for pain.
"Wait, someone's here."
Evander said and Alec should his head.
"No one. I can't..." "Shh....look at that."
Alec froze and looked to the direction that Evander's slim finger was pointing and he saw a pair of legs.
"Is the person dead?"
Alex asked as they advanced slowly. On reaching there, they saw a girl..no, a woman. She looked around 18 or older, her clothes were tattered and she had a cut on her left shoulder. She looked unconscious and dirty.
"Wow."
Was the only thing that came out of Evander's mouth as he stared at her, while Alec seemed cautious.
"Why do i feel like this is a trap?"
He said, raising a brow only to see Evander crouched beside her, holding her head up.
"Hey"
he cooed as if unsure whether he wanted to wake her or allow her to sleep. Alec rolled his eyes at the big softie he knew his alpha was.
She didn't open her eyes, but she heard them. She knew it was the blonde that was holding her.
"Hey."
He said again, this time louder and she decided to open her eyes. Once she did, her steely green met kind silver and she was taken aback that she actually scrambled. He took that as a sign of fear, and came closer a bit, but kept reasonable distance.
"Hey, hey. Don't be scared. I won't hurt you. Let me help you, okay?"
He said and she mentally rolled her eyes. Me? Scared? You wish, man. But she kept a straight face and even managed the tiniest crack in her voice when she said,
"who are you?"
He smiled, revealing some nice white teeth.
"My name is Evander, I am the alpha of full moon. That's my very close friend and beta, Alec."
He said, pointing to wards himself and then Alec. She didn't say anything, so he asked.
"What's your name?"
She cracked her head but came up with nothing, so she said simply.
"Bella".
Amusement crept into his eyes as she said it, and he said
"Bella, Bella? Jacob's Bella?"
He said, laughing at his own joke and she almost rolled her eyes before she caught herself and sighed. "
Do you know where home is?"
She asked, in the most pitiful voice she could muster.
"You don't have a home?"
She shook her head.
"No."
He smiled a bit.
"Then let me take you to mine. Would you like that?"
She looked up at him, careful not to look too desperate and he gave her a reassuring smile and extended his hand to her. She hesitated a bit, before taking his hand and he lifted her up and carried her, bridal style. Once carefully snuggled up, she sighed and closed her eyes, waiting to hear what they thought of her.
"Alpha, you cant keep helping everyone like this."
Oh really? Come get me down from here. She thought rolling her eyes.
"No...she's so fragile. Let me help her, okay?"
He said and she could feel his breath, indicating he had said it while looking down at her.
"What if she isn't what you expect her to be?"
He said again and she almost kicked him in the gut.
"What if she's dangerous?"
Evander looked at him and smiled, a faraway look in his eyes.
"The only danger she can cause is to my heart, Alec."
He tried to argue again, but Evander shut him up.
"No, she's not anything, Alec. Just beautiful. Very very beautiful. Let's take her home."
He said and she adjusted in his arms. Alec spared her one last glance before getting ready to run. Evander sighed, making sure to hold on to her.
"Sleep, beautiful. By the time you wake up, you'll be home."
