BURNING DESIRES: All I Want Is You

"Mom....." Rose heard Ava calling her. She was attending to a customer, when Ava came calling.

From the look on her daughter's face, she could tell that there was good news.

"Mommy" Ava called again, with the most beautiful smile her mother had ever seen.

"What's behind this happy face, honey?" Rose asked, eagerly. Smiling along with her daughter, even though she was yet to know the reason for her smile.

Ava didn't answer her mom, but rather hugged her tightly instead.

"I got it, mom" She smiled so hard. "I finally got it" She added, a smile not leaving her face.

Her mom frowned a little, still not getting what Ava was talking about.

"I got the scholarship!" She screamed it out, almost making her mum go deaf.

Rose's eyes widened in complete surprise and joy.

"You did? Like, you really got the scholarship?" Rose couldn't believe what Ava just told her. "This is one of your pranks, huh? Her mom then asked, not wanting to believe her at all.

Well, Ava had applied for scholarships countless times without being given any. So it was hard for her mom to believe.

"Take this and see for yourself, geez!" Ava said in excitement, handing her mom the sheet of paper she printed out.

"You really got it, oh my goodness! Rose exclaimed, happily.

"Yes mommy. Since four days ago. I already thought I was not going to get it. So I stopped checking and had no idea I have gotten it.

"So that means you can start school even tomorrow? Rose asked, excitedly.

"Even this instance, mommy" Ava replied happily

Rose was way more than happy. That was what her daughter had always wished for, and her dreams finally come true.

"We should be celebrating this" Ava said, instantly holding her mom's hand like a kid's.

"Yes baby, we should" Rose quickly said and started gathering the things together.

"You want to close already?" Ava asked, seeing her mom packing in the things already.

"What's the use of staying when there are no customers" Rose asked, shaking her head.

Ava looked at her and smiled, sadly.

There are days that not even one single customer buys food from them.

The food truck business just keeps dwindling everyday, because there's no money to stock it.

Anyway, Rose held onto her daughter as they both walked home together.

[ 8:00PM * HARTS RESIDENCE ]

The Harts family were all seated on the dinning table having their supper, when Jaxon walked in.

He rolled eyes at no one in particular as he got in.

"Another dance class? Football?" His dad asked, knowing exactly where Jaxon was.

Jaxon is a grumpy, impatient and hot tempered dance instructor and loves sports too. He's very good in both.

Jaxon rolled his eyes again, but this time, at his dad.

"Dad, stop bugging me, please. I am a dancer, I love it and you can't change that.

I am an adult and I know what I want, you can't choose for me"

"I don't want to handle the company, because I am not interested. Besides, I'm still in school" Jaxon said it out clear to his dad.

"If you keep bugging me with this, I will go back to school and never come back" He added.

"Talk to your son" Was all that his dad said, because he was actually lost of words.

Without saying anything else, he walked out of the dining room.

Jaxon's father is the second richest billionaire in England. He wants Jaxon to run his companies, but Jaxon is interested In something else.

"Jax bebe!" Maisie, Jaxon's little sister called.

"Stop calling me that, witch" Jaxon fired at immediately.

"What? I love you, Jax bebe. And I'm your baby sister, so I can call you any name, right?

Right? She doubled the question, getting Jaxon more annoyed.

Jaxon rolled eyes at her, hissing.

Jaxon and Maisie are always fighting like babies. Maisie is just 12, while Jaxon is 22, but it's always as if they're mates.

"Jaxon, you just have...."

"Not now, mom" Jaxon cuts his mum off immediately as he already knew what she was about to say.

"We'll talk about this later" Margaret said and left the dining room too.

It was just Jaxon, Maisie and their grandma (Grand Ma-pee).

"Why are you looking at me like that, Grand Ma-pee?" Jaxon questioned, when he noticed his Grandma staring at him, funnily.

"Have you found a girlfriend yet?" Grand Ma-pee blurted out.

"Give me a break, Grandma. You guys are suffocating me in this house.

I'm going back to school first thing tomorrow morning" Jaxon said and left the dining as well.

"I will bring one for you, if you don't mind" Grand Ma-pee said loudly as Jaxon walked away.

She and Maisie laughed and high fives, before continuing with their food.

[ 8:15AM * AVA'S RESIDENCE * NEXT DAY ]

It was morning the next day.

Ava was set and ready for her first day in school.

"Oh my! Is this my daughter?" Rose asked, staring at Ava, who walked down to meet her mom in the living room.

"You look incredible, baby" she said.

"It's the same clothes I've always worn, mommy. Nothing new" Ava chuckled out lightly.

"But you always rock in them" Rose replied with a smile.

"I'm ready" She said and pecked her mum.

"Wait let me get your food" Rose said and entered their small kitchen.

She brought the food specially packaged for Ava to take to school.

"What are you doing, mom?" Ava asked, staring at her mom in an unbelievable manner.

"I am in University now, not kindergarten" Ava laughed as her mum handed the flask of food to her.

"You're not going to reject mommy's food, are you?" Rose pouted like a baby.

"Fine, fine. I will take it" Ava smiled beautifully.

"Bye, mommy" Ava then said.

"Bye, baby....make lots of friends and have fun, okay?" Rose said, waving at her.

"Sure mom" she replied, before exiting.

[ 8:45am * BRISTOL UNIVERSITY ]

Ava walked and stopped right in front of the big building.

"Bristol University, here I come" She closed her eyes and inhaled sharply.

"Wow! This is way more beautiful and bigger than I thought" She excitedly said, feeding her eyes with the beauty of the environment.

She began to walk in as other students did too.

"Hi" She said to a student, but she only rolled eyes at her and walked away.

"Dirty" The girl mumbled, rudely with a hiss.

Ava shrugged and continued walking till she got to the science lap.

~ Who's that? Why is she dressed like that?

~ Gosh! What is she wearing? That rag she's putting on stopped trending like five years ago.

~ Her old rags for me.

~ She's a newbie, I guess.

~ Gosh! She's ugly and spookes me.

~ I think that's one of the poor rats that has been given a scholarship.

All the students on the hall way laughed at the last statement made by Carla.

Carla is the bully mistress, she and her gang.

The worse and last person you would ever want to meet on campus.

Too proud, arrogant and mean, spoilt brat.

Anyway, Ava walked up to them and stood in their midst.

"Hi, guys. I'm Ava, and I am new here....and I don't know anywhere around. Can you please show me to the chancellor's office?" Ava asked nicely, with a big smile on her face.

Carla smiled sinisterly, looking at her friends.

"With pleasure" She replied Ava with an evil grin.

She signaled one of her friends, Ivy. Ivy nodded as she understood the signal.

As Ava and Carla were about leaving. Ivy grabbed her backpack and threw it on the ground.

The other girl put her leg on the way, making Ava to trip and that made her to fall on her face.

They all started laughing at her immediately on seeing her fall.

Ava tried to stand up, but Carla matched her with her leg, pinning her back to the ground.

"Poor rat. Who said you could come to this school and order Carla around?

Do I look your mate, class?"

"Gosh! You stink. Did you have your bath before coming here?" She asked, and spat.

Ivy, Isla and Harper laughed.

"Probably didn't, because they have no water at home" Isla said and they laughed again.

Ivy unzipped Ava's backpack and poured out every damn thing inside it.

The flask of food her mom had given her, emptied out on the floor.

Seeing that, Carla and her gang burst out laughing at the glimpse of the food.

"Oh my gosh! What are you? 5?

Does this place look like the stupid kindergarten you went to?" Carla asked, taking her legs off Ava who was already in tears.

"Awww, she's crying. How cute" Harper said, satirically as they all laughed.

"What have I done to you guys to deserve this harsh treatment?" Ava summoned the courage and asked.

"Did she just ask that?" Carla asked, tauntingly laughing at Ava.

"First, you don't talk when I talk because your breath stinks and makes me wanna puke" Carla mocked.

She packed the food in her hand, and she started rubbing it all over Ava.

Her friends laughed, while watching the drama.

"Second, you offended me by coming to this school.

I hate poor people, because they creep me, they make me wanna puke" she spat again.

"Such a loser" Isla said.

"Welcome to Bristol University" Ivy seconded.

"We own this school" Harper added.

"And we don't associate with poor rats like you" Carla finalized and spat for the tenth time.

They all laughed, mockingly.

"Oh my gosh! He's here" Ivy announced and all of them drifted their gaze at who she was referring to.......

He drove into the building and he headed to his suite, straight away.

"He was off campus for only three days, why are acting like you've not seen him in ages?" Harper was the one who asked as she didn't understand Ivy's excitement at all.

No you don't, because you've never been in love" Ivy immediately shot at her.

"Hahaha. That's a good one, Ivy" Isla laughed, derisively.

"But seriously, Harper, you need to get yourself a boyfriend. Gosh!" Isla laughed more in mockery.

"Say that one more time and watch me pluck your eyes off that face, moda fucker" Harper threatened, seriously with dead glares.

"It's not like he even loves you, you just keep throwing yourself to him because of his dick" She then turned to Ivy and continued.

"Fuck off, bitch! At least I have a heart to love, unlike you, tomboy" Ivy mocked, scoffing.

"Moda fucker!" Harper said again, giving Ivy a middle finger.

"Can y'all just stop being stupid? You're just embarrassing yourselves right in front of this poor rat" Carla who had been quiet and just watching them, finally spoke.

"I don't give a fuck about that, you know" Harper rolled eyes, hissing.

Isla rolled eyes them, shaking her head.

These four bullies are always on each other's neck.

Especially Ivy and Harper, always having a clash with each other.

One minute, they're best friends, the next minute, they're the worse of enemies.

And Harper being a short tempered girl, does not always have it with Ivy.

"Poor rat. You're lucky this time, because next time we won't be this nice" Carla then turned to Ava and spitefully said.

"Let's go, girls" She ordered her friends, and they followed immediately.

"Bye, see you guys later. I'm off to Jaxon's" Ivy waved at them.

"Pu$$y giver" Harper shouted after Ivy.

"I keep wondering why I have not strangled you to death, but will do that one of these days" Ivy fired at her and walked away.

Harper just gave her another middle finger.

They all left, leaving Ava on the floor.

She was still in tears, trying to wipe them away.

Her clothes were stained with the food Carla bathed her with.

"Humiliated on the first day in school? This is the worse day of my life" She sniffled as more tears ran down her cheeks.

"How am I supposed to walk around with this mess?" She questioned nobody in particular.

"Here, give me your hand" Ava suddenly heard a girly voice behind her.

It was Freya!

Freya was actually behind the door, watching as Ava was being humiliated.

She couldn't do anything to help her because there was nothing she could do at that moment.

Freya is a very quiet and nice girl. One of the few nice persons you will find on campus.

She has also been a victim of bully, but has gotten used to it because, well, it has now become her everyday routine.

She stays off campus also, but sleeps in the hostel whenever they have night classes.

"Come with me, I'll get you something else to wear" She told Ava who was still down in embarrassment.

Ava looked at her, totally surprised at how nice she sounded.

From her very first encounter with Carla and her friends who humiliated her minutes ago, Ava had thought that everyone in Bristol was like them. So she was extremely surprised at Freya's kindness.

"Oh, my bad, I'm Freya

I saw what those girls did to you, don't let them get to you, okay? That's just what they are good for" Freya whispered to Ava, kindly.

"Thanks" Was all that Ava could say, as she hiccupped

Freya smiled kindly at her, held her and they both walked out of there.

[ JAXON'S EN SUITE ]

"Baby, I missed you so much. You didn't come back yesterday like you said you would" Ivy smiled at Jaxon, walking up to join him where he was seated.

"Something came up" Jaxon replied her, peevishly without even looking at her.

"I'm horny" He then uttered, turning to look at her this time.

Ivy smiled and bit her lips, seductively.

"I'm all yours, baby. I knew you would be, one of the he reasons I came" Ivy bit her lips again.

She sexily walked to him as she began rubbing her hands on his chest.

Jaxon didn't waste any time. He grabbed her and started kissing her hungrily and aggressively.

In few minutes, their clothes were flying out at every corner of his big room.

Some of the girls were talking about Ava as they walked in, going to Olivia's bunk.

Some were laughing, while others kept lashing at her.

Freya and Ava ignored them anyway. Though those girls were just whispering, but Freya and Ava could hear them loud and clear.

Those words hurt Ava so bad, but just like Freya said "Don't let them get to you"

So Ava just ignored, and focused on following Freya to where she was taking her.

Olivia is Freya's friend, one of the nice persons too on campus.

"What's up, baby?" Olivia asked immediately on seeing Freya.

"A lot, Olive. Do you have any cloth you can spare?

Please, I will explain later. Just get her something else to wear, pretty please" Freya pleaded, eagerly.

"Alright, follow me" Olivia responded without wasting time.

She, Ava and Freya went to Olivia's wardrobe.

Ava's eyes widened in amazement as she stared at the beautiful and classy clothes Olivia has.

"I'm Olivia, by the way. What's your name?" Olivia then turned to Ava and asked, as she handed her a hoodie and a baggy jean.

It was cold that morning, so she gave her something that would be soothing to her body.

"I'm Ava. Thanks for the clothes" Ava managed to smile wide.

"It's nothing. I will put these in the washing machine, it'll be ready in no time, okay?

Nice meeting you, Ava" Olivia smiled kindly at her too.

"Nice to meet you too, Olivia. Thanks again" Ava thanked her the second time.

"Thanks, baby" Freya thanked Olivia too.

"I need to take her to the counselor's office, and show her around too" Freya then told Olivia.

"Let me make something for you guys to eat first, huh?" Olivia told Freya.

"Thanks, Olive. But later, I need to show her to the counselor's office first" Freya responded, nicely.

"Alright, see ya later, Freya and....Ava, yeah" Olivia smiled and said, making Ava to giggle a little.

"Let's go" Freya held Ava's hand again, and they left.

[ JAXON'S EN SUITE ]

"Jaxon, you didn't come back yesterday like you said you were gonna" Leo punched Jaxon's shoulder lightly.

Leo is Jaxon's friend and housemate.

"Go tell them to gather in the Hall. Rehearsals will start in fifteen minutes time" Jaxon finally said all Leo wanted to hear.

"Go meet Isla, she's always available for you" Jaxon replied him, with a little chuckle.

Ava and Freya were already at the counselor's office.

He was counselling Ava, and advising her also on the course to choose.

And Ava also spoke with him about a lot of things, and she did ask lots of questions that Freya couldn't help but to keep staring at her with short chuckles.

"Thank you, sir" Ava respectfully said to the counselor, after she had listened to everything he said, attentively.

After that, Ava did her clearance and registration, was also given list of courses and so on before she and Freya left there.

Freya was in turn happy as she realized that Ava was actually taking the same course as her.

"Okay, so here are the science and practical labs" Freya told Ava as she began showing her places around.

"Our department and class. Oh, come here, this is where I sit" She said, pointing at her seat.

"Cool" Ava smiled and said.

Freya is studying Animal Science, and that's the course Ava chose too.

"I know, right. We don't have any classes today, you would have sat next to me" Freya excitedly said.

"Let's go, you have a lot more to see" She later said, pulling Ava by the hand.

"Dark zone! This is the last place you ever wanna come to, especially at night"

"This is the school dance studio" Freya continued as they finally reached the beautiful, and large dance hall.

"They also host concerts here. Oh! There's a big one coming up soon" She was so excited to tell Ava about it.

"Wow! This is extremely beautiful" Ava couldn't help it as gushed over the big hall.

"You can say that again, Ava" Freya smiled hard, happy at the fact that Ava was having fun and had suddenly forgotten about what she faced in Carla's hands.

Anyway, some dancers were already in, while some were still entering.

Jaxon and Leo walked in too not long.

Ava was still admiring the hall, when she suddenly bumped into Jaxon.

She and Freya were about leaving the hall, because they sighted Carla and her gang again, which meanst trouble.

Since they didn't want any of their troubles again, they chose to leave, but bumped on Jaxon and Leo instead.

Ava's face hit Jaxon's chest, causing her to gasp, and raised her head to look at who she just bumped into.

There he stood, staring deep into her eyes.

"Do you need glasses? Because I will gladly buy dozens of them for you" Jaxon jibed at her, and rolled eyes.

The students in there started laughing, making Ava to look stup!d.

He pushed her aside as he proceeds to call his dancers.

"So sorry, Ava. This is what happens everyday. Bristol University is for the highs and mightiest only"

Just don't let them know your weakness" Freya tried to tell Ava, but Ava was already shedding tears.

Those tears that are her biggest weakness, and she just can't hide them.

"Stop crying and let's go" Freya told her, softly.

They started walking out of the dance Hall, but were blocked by Carla and her gang again.

"Did your filthy body just touch my Jaxon? Oh my gosh! I can't believe this!" Ivy was the one who started first.

"Gosh! I need to get him a strong perfume. A very strong scented one" She said in complete mockery.

"What are you both even doing in this hall? This place is for classy people, not dirty rats like you" Isla joined in, referring to Ava and Freya.

"Wow! She changed into something else, quite cute and fascinating.

Except that you still look stup!d and will never fit in, now leave!" Carla thundered aloud.

"Next time you see him, just fly in the air, don't even go close to him. I won't be this nice next time" Ivy warned Ava, seriously.

"F*ck off, losers" Harper spoke too as they all walked away, tauntingly laughing at Ava especially.

Ava immediately ran off, heading back to the hostel.

"Ava, wait!" Freya called out, and Instantly ran after her.

Ava was already out of sight as Freya didn't see her around anywhere.

Ava never stopped running until she got to the hostel.

She went in immediately to look for Olivia, whom she was fortunate to find in her bunk, reading a novel.

"Ava, you're back already?" Olivia sat up immediately to look at Ava.

"Wait, you're crying? What happened?" She questioned, wondering why Ava was crying.

"Can I have my clothes back ,please?" Ava asked, ignoring Olivia's question.

As if Olivia understood Ava quite well, she didn't ask anymore questions, but brought her clothes that were already dry instead.

"Thanks"Ava said and got into the bathroom in a haste.

She quickly changed back to her own clothes and heads back.

She handed over Olivia's clothes to her.

"No, keep them. They're all yours now" Olivia managed to say.

Ava smiled shortly.

"Thank you" She simply said and started walking away without saying another word to Olivia.

"See you tomorrow, Olivia. Thanks for everything" She then turned back to say thank you.

After that, she left the hostel, but met Freya half way.

"Are you going home, already?" Freya asked, totally confused.

"Yes, Freya. I have had enough for one day, besides it's evening already. I should be heading home now, mom would be worried" Ava lied, forcing a smile.

"Thanks for everything, Freya. I don't know how my day would have been like if not for you.

I would have probably given up already, this school is indeed for the highs and mightiest" Ava said as a tear dropped down her cheek.

Freya hugged her.

"You're welcome, baby. Be safe okay? Try and get home before it's dark" She said to Ava in the softest way she could.

"I will, thank you" Ava sniffed yet, she still managed to smile.

"Bye, see you tomorrow.

We're having two classes by 10Am and 7Pm tomorrow, can't wait to see you"

"And they'll be having a little dance show, tomorrow. You won't wanna miss it" Freya smiled again.

"I won't miss it" Ava smiled back at her.

"Bye" Freya hugged her the second time.

"Bye, Freya. Thanks again" And with that, Ava left the place.

Ava was trekking back home because she had no money on her to take a cab, and it was already getting dark as a result.

She was half way away from school, when she started hearing footsteps behind her.

With her heart racing for a moment, Ava looked back immediately but saw no one.

She then ignored it, and continued walking. But she had barely reached anywhere when she heard the footsteps again, but they were faster this time.

Sensing danger, Ava Instantly increased her pace and began walking faster than she was, more like running.

"Stop right there!" She all of a sudden heard a masculine voice thunder behind her....
