After completing my undergraduate studies in business administration, I pursued an MBA from Harvard, further honing my skills in finance, marketing, and global management. With my sharp mind, compassionate heart, and unwavering commitment, I'm poised to lead Thompson Enterprises into a brighter, more sustainable future.

It was a Monday! I arrived at our family company building in my car parking at the company's parking lot. I walked out of my car walking into the building with two hefty men walking behind me. No worries! They are with me. They are my bodyguards. I approached the door and it was opened by a middle-aged man,Mr Brian. Mr Brian has been with the company since I was seven making him one of our longest -serving employee

I walked into the building with my bag hanging on my shoulder and holding a warm cup of coffee, just the way I love it. I was approached by a few people who bowed slightly and greeted. It's like my family's company culture here. We bow to greet seniors. Although I wasn't among the CEO yet I was still respected because of the "successor" title attached to my name or rather the "Thompson" attached to Alessia.

I walked into the elevator. My office sits pretty at the 20th floor. I love it there because it makes me feel on top of the world plus I got to enjoy beautiful skylines. I stepped into the bustling office, my heels clicking on the polished floor. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, mingling with the hum of conversation and keyboard clicks. I smiled, exchanging warm greetings with employees as I made my way to my office.

My assistant, Rachel, handed over a stack of files. "Morning, Alessia. Urgent messages and today's schedule."

I nodded, scanning the emails on her phone. My eyes narrowed as I responded to a few critical messages, my fingers flying across the screen. I walked towards my seat and sat down with my eyes still fixated on my phone screen.

Emily Bronte, Thompson Enterprises' marketing whiz, entered the office with her signature warmth. Her bright red hair and scattered freckles complemented her professional attire, exuding a cozy confidence.

Emily approached my desk, her expression curious. "Hey Alessia, any update on the Johnson negotiations? We need to finalize our marketing strategy."

"Still negotiating, Emily. I'll keep you posted," I replied, not looking up from my screen.

As the morning rush subsided,I took a moment to gaze out the window. The city skyline stretched before me, a reminder of my family's legacy. My mind wandered to my childhood, watching my parents build Thompson Enterprises from the scratch that was left by my grandparents.

My voiceover whispered in my mind, "My family poured their heart and soul into this company. I won't let it falter."

I turned back to my desk, opening my journal. The pages filled with my handwritten notes, outlining my vision for Thompson Enterprises' future. Innovative strategies, market analysis, and calculated risks.

My pen paused, my eyes drifting to the family photo on my desk. My parents, John and Catherine Thompson, stood proudly beside my elder brother and I, the company's logo emblazoned behind us.

With renewed determination, I wrote:

"Today, I take control. Today, I shape the future."

I dropped the pen, and my gaze lifted, resolve etched on my face. The city skyline beckoned, a challenge and an opportunity.

"What a beautiful view" I whispered out of my moisturized lips so low that I could barely hear myself. The evening effect was already rushing in and I was already feeling tired and stressed.

I picked up my phone and called the data analytics department.

"Hello Chris,I want stats of the company financial performance to be sent to my assistant Rachel and forwarded to my office first thing tomorrow morning"

I said. Ending the call. I pulled my self from my chair and arranged my desk and left for home.

Chapter 2 DRIVEN BY LEGACY

It was 8am in the morning and I was already at work. I received a mail from Chris,he had already sent me the company data and it wasn't looking good. I got a call from my dad. I was needed in the conference room.

I walked into the conference room, where my parents, John and Catherine Thompson, already sat. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries filled the air, a comforting familiarity.

"Morning, sweetie," Catherine,my mom said, as I hugged her tightly.

"Morning, Mom. Dad." I greeted as I took a seat beside my father, my eyes scanning the spread of documents and financial reports.

My father has been my role model since birth considering that I gained all my guidance and training from him. My father,John Thompson has always been the patriarch of the Thompson family and current CEO of Thompson Enterprises, alongside his wife, Catherine,my mother. A visionary leader and seasoned entrepreneur, my dad has dedicated his life to building the family business into a global conglomerate.

At 55, my dad exudes confidence and authority, his presence commanding attention. His chiseled features, piercing blue eyes, and distinctive gray hair convey a sense of wisdom and experience. His sharp mind and strategic thinking have navigated Thompson Enterprises through turbulent times, cementing its position as an industry leader.

My father's childhood was marked by hard work and education which of course I took after him in that aspect. Growing up as the son of Edward Thompson, the founder of Thompson Enterprises, my dad was immersed in the family business from a young age. He spent countless hours learning from his father, absorbing the values of innovation and perseverance that would shape his own leadership style.

As a youth, my dad committed himself to expanding Thompson Enterprises, driven by a fierce loyalty to his family's legacy. He worked tirelessly alongside his father, learning every aspect of the business. After Edward's passing, my dad took the reins, propelling the company to unprecedented heights through his visionary leadership.

Under my dad's guidance, Thompson Enterprises diversified into real estate, renewable energy, and advanced technologies. His forward-thinking approach fostered innovation, attracting top talent and strategic partnerships.

As a father, my father has always been protective and demanding, pushing my brother, Alexander and I to excel. His high expectations often put pressure on me, but I respects his guidance and values his expertise. My father's relationship with us, his children is complex, balancing paternal love with professional mentorship.

My father's marriage to Catherine is built on mutual respect, trust, and shared vision. Together, they form a formidable team, supporting each other through life's challenges. Their partnership extends beyond the boardroom, forging a united front in family matters.

Despite his many accomplishments, my dad also faces internal conflicts. The weight of responsibility and maintaining the family legacy test his resolve. John Thompson, cleared his throat. "Alessia, we need to discuss the company's financials. The struggles are real, kiddo."

My expression turned serious. "I know, Dad. I've been reviewing the numbers. We need to adapt, innovate." Although I'm trying to act and looked stress-free deep down I was stressed out by the whole situation. Our company has been hitting rock bottom ever since and inflation is also affecting our market. Everything seems to be falling apart.

Catherine,my mother, eyes clouded. "Your father and I built this company from nothing. We can't let it fail."

My hand covered my mother's. "I won't let that happen, Mom. I promise."

My dad leaned forward, his voice laced with concern. "Alessia, you're shouldering a lot. Are you sure you're ready?"

My jaw set. "I was born ready, Dad. I've grown up with this company. I know its heartbeat."

Catherine gaze softened. "We trust you, Alessia. But remember, family legacy isn't just about business. It's about people, relationships."

I nodded, my eyes locking onto my parents'. "I understand. I'll make you proud."

As they delved into the financial reports, my mind whirled with strategies and solutions. My passion for Thompson Enterprises burned brighter, fueled by my family's legacy.

"We need to cut down cost possibly laying off some workers" I said scanning through some documents and the financial report of the company.

"That would render them jobless. Plus that won't be enough. We need about an influx of $10,000,000." My dad said.

"I have contacted some of our investors trying to talk them into investing more but they are all threatening to pull out because of the current situation of our company" my mother said with a worried expression.

"What if we try contacting new investors? I was looking into contacting Green Tech Inc and see if they are interested in investing in our company" I suggested.

"We have tried that already,we tried as much to persuade them but they are not interested" my dad said in turn.

"What about NeoLife Inc?" I asked.

My parents gave me that look that means "they didn't comply". At this point I was out of idea. I felt empty.

"I would have to meet with other investors and try to get them to invest in our company plus I'll look for other ways to cut down cost without laying off some of our workers" I concluded

The meeting concluded, I walked my parents out, the weight of responsibility settling upon my shoulders.

In the lobby, my mother halted, her eyes searching for mine. "You're not alone in this, sweetie. We're here for you."

I smiled, hugging her tightly. "I know, Mom. I'll make it work."

As my parents departed, I watched, a mix of determination and trepidation swirling within.

I had made a list of investors in all sectors spanning across tech and real estate who would be willing to invest in our company hoping to find one who would gain interest in investing in our company. Maybe that would save us from going bankrupt and eventual loss of our family's hard work and legacy which has spanned over nine decades.

Chapter 3 RESCUE MISSION

With the whole thing going on,I promised my parents that I would save our company and I had to do it. I had prepared a proposal that I believe would help in growth and debt curbing of our company. I was determined to present this proposal before the board members.

I stood tall, my confident stride echoing through the Thompson Enterprises' corridor as I made my way to the conference room. My sleek, black pumps clicked against the polished marble floor, punctuating my determination.

I wore a tailored, navy blue business suit, its crisp lines accentuating my slender yet athletic build. The fitted jacket highlighted my broad shoulders, while the pencil skirt fell just above my knees, exuding professionalism. A crisp, white blouse with subtle sheen complemented my outfit, its high collar framing my heart-shaped face.

My raven-black hair was styled in a neat, low bun, revealing my striking features. My bright, hazel eyes shone with focus, lined with subtle makeup that enhanced their natural depth. My full lips, painted a soft coral hue, curved into a resolute smile.

In my left hand, I grasped a slim, black leather folder, its gold clasp gleaming in the soft light. The folder contained my meticulously prepared project proposal, the result of countless hours of research and strategic planning. My right hand held a sleek, silver tablet, its screen glowing with key presentation points.

As I walked, my expression conveyed a mix of confidence and calculated nervousness. My eyebrows were slightly furrowed, betraying my intense focus. My eyes sparkled with a hint of determination, as if daring anyone to doubt my vision.

A delicate, silver watch adorned my wrist, its elegant design reflecting my refined taste. A simple, yet elegant silver necklace with a tiny pendant bearing the Thompson Enterprises' logo rested against my throat, symbolizing my commitment to my family's legacy.

With each step, I try as much as possible to exude an aura of authority, my very presence commanding attention. I was a woman on a mission, driven to save my family's company from the brink of disaster.

As I approached the conference room, I took a deep breath, mentally preparing myself for the high-stakes presentation ahead. My eyes locked onto the door, my mind racing with anticipation.

I stepped into the conference room, my confident stride commanding attention. I positioned myself at the podium, adjusting the microphone to my height. With a deep breath, I began:

"Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed board members, and honored investors, I present to you 'Thompson Enterprises 2.0: Innovation and Growth.' Today, we stand at a crossroads, facing challenges that demand bold action. Our company's legacy, built over nine decades, is at stake."

My eyes scanned the room, engaging my audience.

"Our proposal focuses on two key pillars: Innovation and Growth. We will leverage cutting-edge technology to diversify our portfolio, expanding into emerging markets and capitalizing on untapped opportunities."

I gestured to the screen behind me where a sleek presentation unfolded.

"Firstly, innovation. We will establish a research and development arm, fostering partnerships with leading institutions and startups. This will enable us to stay ahead of the curve, identifying and integrating game-changing technologies."

My voice gained momentum.

"Secondly, growth. We will aggressively pursue strategic acquisitions, targeting complementary businesses that enhance our core strengths. This will not only broaden our revenue streams but also increase our market share."

My gaze locked onto the investors.

"To achieve this vision, we require an initial investment of $15 million. In return, we offer a projected ROI of 20% within the first two years, and a significant reduction in our debt-to-equity ratio."

My passion shone through.

"This is not just a business plan; it's a roadmap to salvation. We will create new jobs, stimulate economic growth, and cement Thompson Enterprises' position as a leader in innovation."

My voice took on a personal tone.

"As a member of the Thompson family, I understand the weight of our legacy. We owe it to ourselves, our employees, and our community to act boldly. I urge you to join me on this journey, to embrace innovation and growth, and secure our company's future."

The room fell silent, with every words I uttered hanging in the air. I stood tall, my conviction evident.

As I concluded my presentation, the room erupted into a flurry of questions and concerns from the board members and employees. Chris, the data analyst, spoke up first.

"Alessia, how do you plan to handle the financial oversight for this new project? We can't afford any missteps," Chris asked, his brow furrowed.

I nodded thoughtfully. "We'll establish a dedicated financial task force, comprising experts from our accounting and finance departments. They'll work closely with external auditors to ensure transparency and accountability."

Emily Bronte, marketing specialist, raised her hand. "How will this new project impact our existing client base? We've worked hard to build those relationships."

I smiled reassuringly. "Our existing clients will benefit from the expanded services and enhanced technology. We'll implement a seamless integration process, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations. In fact, our research suggests this expansion will increase client satisfaction and retention."

John Lee, a board member, leaned forward. "What's the timeline for returns on investment? When can we expect to see tangible results?"

I referenced my notes. "We anticipate a significant return on investment within the first 18 months, with projected revenue growth of 15% annually. Our financial models indicate a break-even point within the first two years."

Rachel Patel, HR representative, spoke up. "How will this expansion affect our workforce? Will we be hiring new staff or retraining existing employees?"

My expression turned enthusiastic. "We'll be creating new job opportunities, while also investing in employee development programs to upskill our existing staff. This will ensure they're equipped to handle the increased demands and technological advancements."

Other questions followed, ranging from regulatory compliance to supply chain management. I addressed each concern with confidence and precision, demonstrating my thorough preparation.

As the Q&A session drew to a close, the room's atmosphere shifted from skepticism to optimism. My poised and informed responses had alleviated many concerns, replacing doubt with anticipation.

Catherine Thompson, my mother, smiled proudly. "Alessia, you've clearly done your homework. Your vision for Thompson Enterprises' future is compelling."

John Thompson, my father, nodded in agreement. "The board will review your proposal and financials. We'll schedule a follow-up meeting to discuss implementation details."

I exhaled, relief mingling with excitement. I knew this was just the beginning of a challenging yet exhilarating journey.

"Thank you all for your thoughtful questions and feedback. I'm confident that together, we can make Thompson Enterprises 2.0 a reality."

The room erupted into a flurry of activity as attendees gathered their belongings and began to file out. I stood by the door, shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries.

"Great presentation, Alessia," Emily Bronte said, smiling. "You've given us a lot to think about."

"Thanks, Emily," I replied. "Your input was invaluable."

Chris, the data analyst, approached, his expression thoughtful. "Alessia, I think we can tweak the financial projections to make them even more robust."

I nodded. "Let's schedule a meeting to discuss further, Chris."

As the last of the attendees departed, I turned to my personal assistant, Rachel.

"Rachel, please ensure all meeting materials are distributed to the relevant departments. I want everyone on the same page."

Rachel nodded efficiently. "Already on it, Alessia."

Together, we walked towards my office, located on the top floor of the Thompson Enterprises building. The corridor's sleek, modern design seemed to hum with renewed energy, as if the very atmosphere had been charged by my presentation.

As we entered the office, Rachel asked, "Would you like me to schedule follow-up meetings with the board or department heads?"

I considered for a moment. "Not yet, Rachel. Let's give them time to digest the proposal. But please keep me updated on any feedback or concerns."

Rachel jotted down notes on her tablet. "Will do, Alessia."

I settled into my ergonomic chair, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over me. I gazed out the floor-to-ceiling windows, overlooking the bustling cityscape.

The Thompson Enterprises logo on the adjacent building seemed to shine with renewed promise.

"We did it, Rachel," I said softly. "We took the first step."

Rachel smiled. "And many more to come, Alessia."
