BILLIONAIRE THIRST FOR LOVE
Chapter one
MARIA McCAIN POV
It's a cold morning in Santa-Dabia, it's always cold but today seems colder than usual, wrapped in my blanket, curled up sipping my coffee, I knew it was a matter of time till I would leave all the cold behind.
I was about 5′4 with brunette hair that was long and thick, blue eyes as blue as the sea with rosy lips and a noticeable cleft chin.
Curled up in a blanket I wore white sleeping pajamas paired with white socks.
I wasn't bothered by the cold that was breaking my skin that much after all I've lived all my life in cold Santa-Dabia, it was the cold in my heart that bothered me the most. It's been two years since Jackson, my college sweetheart, left me on the altar.
He just vanished into thin air and left me with wedding debts, shame, and a hole in my heart. A hole I had tried to fix with work and several failed attempts at love.
It's a new year, January the coldest time of the year in Santa-Dabia, and things were already heating up, there were rumors that I was going to get a promotion at work. It was going to be something I could look up to, so I had to catch an afternoon plane to Orano.
I had come to spend my Christmas break with my family and although I missed them, something about Santa-Dabia reminds me of a missing piece of my love life. This place reminded me of so many heartbreaks, tears, pain, depression, and long sleepless nights of asking myself where it all went wrong.
But I was living it all again, 485 miles back to Orano where my life was changed for the better and also looking up at my wristwatch, in nine hours I'll be back to my getaway and my routined lifestyle.
I got to Orano around sunset, took a cab from the airport to my apartment. Once I was in, I kicked my boots off my legs, left the luggage at the center of the room, and sunk into a leather couch.
I looked around my apartment scanning the walls and the exterior. I stood up with a sigh and headed for the fridge, took out a can of cold beer, and returned to my seat as I nursed my drink.
There was a vibration in my Jean pocket as I sat there, it was my cell phone and it was Linda calling.
Linda is my best friend and work colleague. It was Linda who helped me out of depression and frustration. She helped me secure a job, and is the only person outside my family I trust and love.
"Hello Maria," Linda said over the phone.
"Are you back from Santa-Dabia yet?" she added.
"Yeah, I am and Happy New Year to you Linda," I said with a smile as my throat gulped down on the cold beer.
Linda laughed and said, "Wanna go to a New year party? Big Billy Organised it and it is going to be massive."
I heaved a long sigh and replied with a strained voice."I don't want to go out, I'm tired and I need rest."
"What if Big Billy announces your promotion comes today at the party? Plus you haven't been laid in like forever today might be your lucky chance to fuck that guy who has been on your neck for a while now. What's his name again?" Linda asked.
I sank my head in frustration and replied. "William! William Parker."
"Yeah William the cute guy from the Public Relations Department. He is a hottie, I wonder why you don't give him a chance. Why Maria?" Linda pushed.
I bit on my bottom lip so hard a strange taste hit my tongue. I didn't need to be told I just burst my lip open thinking about giving love a chance again.
"If I promise to come, will you stop talking about this?" I shot back rolling my eyes.
"Aye Captain!" Linda retorted.
"And see you by 8!" Linda added before the phone line went blank and I went back to sipping my beer and started dozing off.
It felt like yesterday, the day I met Linda, two weeks after my fiance left me at the altar and didn't show up. I made the bar my new home and drank with every will to die, it was terrible that period for me. I was a walking wreck!
On a fateful night after drinking, I made my way through the streets walking and throwing up, and it was a very cold Santa-Dabia night.
After throwing up, brushing my hair back, and holding my head to the feeling of a bad headache. I heard footsteps approaching and whispering voices.
I was too drunk to see their faces. My eyes could only see blurry images. I drank six glasses of tequila, cocktails, and lots of other drinks mixed by the bartender in Cuban.
I've been so heartbroken I took my time looking for the hottest bar in town for a mixology anything to knock me out and send me over to my world.
A world of no regrets, no hurts, no betrayals, and a world of true love if there was any left in the world because I had given up!
I staggered on my feeble feet and fought my drunk state to look at who the emerging footsteps belonged to but from the voices, I deciphered that there were male voices.
As the voices approached me they started teasing and touching my body inappropriately.
"Leave me alone!" It came out as a slur as I belched on my vomit.
"She's drunk!"
"She looks pretty."
"Hahahaha...look at those huge titties."
"That ass will fit perfectly in my cock."
Things were getting pretty serious so I strained my eyes and saw they were three in number.
"Stop touching me!" I hate my voice right now. It came more like a whisper than a command.
"What are you going to do about it? Hahaha.." They replied in unison amidst laughter as they dragged me to an eerie corner.

Chapter Two
They kept touching me as I kept warning and fighting their hands off. After a while of teasing, I knew they weren't done.
They had lust etched in their eyes and had purposed in their heart to take turns in raping me something I dreaded with the whole of my being.
Suddenly, there was a buzzing sound!
One of the men started shaking like an epileptic patient, as he fell to the ground.
A female figure was shown with pepper spray in her hands, she ran over to the guy who was already bent over me and sprayed him too, as he scurried away, the last guy had already taken off.
"Who are yo-u?" I managed to voice out as my head spun and the darkness was slowly setting in.
I fell to the ground as my fingers dug at the wet soul and my throat gave way as the drinks came crashing out.
"You'll be fine." I felt a hand rubbing my back soothing me.
She helped me to my feet and shoved me gently into the car seat with a strap and drove out.
Her engine died off when I felt her unstrap me and took me to her hotel room and immediately my body came in contact with the bed, I slept off.
********
The constant ringing of my phone was buzzing like crazy, and I slowly opened my eyes and looked sideways with sleepy eyes.
As I used my hands to scan the couch when my hands got in contact with my phone. It was Linda calling and had already called three times when I scrolled my phone.
I looked at the time on my phone and realized it was thirty minutes to prepare before the party starts.
A follow-up text from Linda buzzed through my phone and it said she was almost there to pick me up.
That's Linda for you so caring and possessive of her bestie!
Linda had since that night won my heart, once my eyelids flung open and I took in my environment. My eyes met a coffee by the bedside, and a note that said,
"Don't move. I figured you'll have a headache, so I went to get you some meds."
Which was followed up with a heart-shaped card.
That gesture was one of the sweetest things I've experienced in months.
A smile spread out on my cheek as I read the letter over and over again.
I stood up and walked around the room sipping my coffee as my head tried to recall the incident that led me here.
The coffee was helpful from feeling like crap to feeling pretty awesome in a matter of seconds.
My head buzzed with a reminder my Mom must have been worried sick about me but I couldn't leave without seeing and thanking my savior.
If it wasn't for her help I didn't want to imagine what those bastards would have done to me.
As I sat at the table my eyes scanned the scattered papers on the table.
I didn't turn up the papers so who did? Certainly my savior... That's what my head has been calling her till I know her name.
Curiosity got the better part of me so my fingers picked one up to look at it.
It was easy to figure out that it was an account statement and further scanning of the rest of it revealed that my savior was auditing for a company here in Santa-Dabia and was having a challenge.
It didn't take me ten minutes to find the problem and fix it. After all, I was a degree holder in accounting and the best graduating student from my college.
The same college I met my first love who destroyed and broke me to pieces. A tear escaped my tear duct and rolled down to my cheek.
I wiped my tears and exhaled. How many times have I sworn never to cry for that betrayer? Uncountable times but I still do.
I heard footsteps and the door getting unlocked and I turned to see the womanly figure of my savior as she met me sitting writing on her table. "What are you doing out of bed?" She asked me.
"Well I'm good with hangovers and I probably won't need the meds you went to get," I replied with a sweet smile.
Then I went on biting the cap of the pen. "Thank you so much for yesterday, I would have been dead now or raped and left in the cold if not for you. I appreciate it," My head hung low as I said those words.
My savior smiled and said. "My accounts weren't balancing and I went out to lighten up my head with a few drinks when I ran into you." She revealed.
"Well I figured out the problem, you were off by a zero in the debit section," I said pointing to the paper I've been writing on before she walked in.
"You don't say." She beamed with shock and awe as she confirmed what I just said.
"Thank you so much, Miss.. what's your name?" She inquired.
"Maria! Maria McCain." I replied as she smiled and my lips opened to sip my coffee.
"Thank you, Maria. I think I was made to save you so you could save me. I'm Linda. Linda Martins." Linda added with a handshake.
Linda was sent in from the head office of MTC in Orano to Santa-Dabia to help audit and balance the accounts of one of their branches and after I helped her balance the account, she had an extra free week so she hung out more with me.
We ladies warmed up to each other and shared personal conversations. Linda was gay but said I wasn't her type. Linda was into Studs and her family wasn't aware yet.
I didn't leave any stone unturned as my lips gave way to narrating to Linda about how my life hit rock bottom, from my Fiance to debt and new habit of drinking.
Linda was there to offer emotional support and when one week had come to an end, she convinced me to move with her to Orano.
She helped me secure a job at MTC. She told Big Billy how I fixed an account that was giving her and the entire Santa-Dabia branch issues, Big Billy loved her and thus this beautiful friendship began.

Chapter three
I rushed to the shower had a quick bath, brushed my teeth, and wore the black lingerie Linda bought me from a store in Paris.
I got that as a valentine's gift in February last year even though we weren't lovers Linda was thinking it would look great on me and it perfectly did.
But in a flash I decided on the spot to go braless, maybe I would take Linda's advice, after all, to get laid. My eyes scanned the wall clock and I had just five minutes to get ready.
With hasty hands I tried to put on my black gown unfortunately it got ripped at the sides.
"Shit!" I exclaimed with shock and slapped a hand over my mouth.
The last time I remembered I could barely move around this cloth because it felt too big and made me look funny and skinny.
My head hung low with frustration and sadness that my favorite gown got damaged. It was a birthday present from my mom which she got for me.
After sulking for three minutes the doorbell rang repeatedly I snapped from my feelings and opted for a red gown with a split which revealed my thighs.
At this point, Linda had let herself in my apartment. "Where the hell are you?"
"I'm coming, I'm coming, Linda, I'm coming!" I assured her with a half yell.
"Hurry, my tabs on the cab are running and we are running late," Linda said as she made hand gestures to her wristwatch.
I ran out of my bedroom not without grabbing my make-up box to fix my busted lip. My heels were dangling on the other hand as I ran hurriedly to the sitting room.
I slowed down when I saw Linda and was trying to put on my heels and head for the door with my make-up kit right under my arm when I fell over.
Which was so hilarious it made Linda stop and burst out laughing. "Hahahaha..."
I was glad I didn't sprain an ankle so I stood up making a face and grumbling as I tossed my make-up kits at Linda.
"Help me hold it." Which she caught in the air and walked over to the cab.
I turned to lock my apartment and catch up with Linda in the Cab.
******************
I took my time during the ride to apply makeup and concentrated on my busted lips not to give anyone who came in contact with me tonight the idea of an imaginary boyfriend or lover bust my lip as I checked myself out on the make-up mirror.
We came to the end of our ride as we both alighted the cab, paid the fare, and turned to head into the building as the cab zoomed off.
MASON TRANSCONTINENTAL CORPORATION was the biggest building in the East of Orano, and it was extremely successful too.
Bill Mason was the CEO of MTC and his employees and partners called him "Big Billy." because he referred to himself as the "Big Boss."
Linda and I worked in the Finance department and due to my latest milestone accomplishment in the auditing of the company's records, there were rumors of a possible promotion coming my way.
The party was going well, drinks, dancing, eating, greetings and salutations, everyone was having an overall good time.
The clinking of glasses as soft moans from lovers to business discussions buzzed in the air.
The minute I walked in and greeted a few people that came my way I noticed something odd.
William looked dapper in a grey suit with his black curly hair but he paid less attention aside from greeting me at the entrance. He was rather all over a new blonde Lady who wore a dinner gown with her pert nose and a cheerful smile who seemed to have come with him.
My feet felt like I was going to fall if it didn't find a suitable support before it gave way just like the pain in my heart ripped open out of its temporary band-aid.
My hands felt a chair beside me as my ass hit home and my legs felt paralyzed for a minute.
There was another fine gentleman who seemed interested in me as I felt him gawking over me checking me out with his eyes.
I noticed his stares but pretended as though it was nothing. I needed to keep my pride intact so I quickly avoided his gaze and averted my eyes over to the sea of people having fun.
He walked up to me and engineered a conversation. "Hi, you seem not to be a party person. Are all parties or just fancy parties like this what you dislike?" He said as he sat beside me.
My head cocked over to the pleasant voice that pierced through my eardrum. I turned to face a handsome tall man, in a blue suit, with incredible muscles, a well-trimmed beard, and when he smiled showed off his perfect set of teeth.
"Hello, Mr?" I asked in a bit to get to know his name.
"Charlie, sorry I should have started it at that and your name?" Charlie shot back.
"Maria," I responded.
"So Maria you don't generally like parties or just fancy parties?" Charlie asked.
"Okay, I don't like fancy Office parties, I prefer a Karaoke party or even a Mosh pit. Something which will make an adrenaline rush." I explained.
Charlie threw his head back in shock and surprise. "I love to mosh pits too and I attended the last one Tyler the creator had." He added.
"You are kidding me." I gasped; it felt surreal that someone this clean could get so freaky.
"Why did you say that?"
"Because I feel you look too fancy for that," I said truthfully.
"Well I'm here cause Big Billy wants me to," he said as he ran his hand through his shiny blonde hair.
Soon enough our conversation was interrupted as William tapped his glass, as all attention got drawn to him, then he began.
