Attracted To My Secretary

MIA'S POV: Hi friends, I'm Mia Colton. Am twenty three years old, I'm from a family of 3, used to be 4 but unfortunately my dad is dead. I have a little brother, Jace, who is 14 years and currently in highschool. He doesn't look his age though.

After dad's death, it's been difficult to live a normal life. My mom works in a restaurant and she does not really make a lot of daily income to feed us well but we do get support from dad's family sometimes. It got to a point my mom couldn't pay my little brother's school fees anymore and he most times he would always be home.

I have a few friends because most of them didn't want to associate with me because of our financial status. We were obviously not as rich as some of them were. Although, the few friends I have are really supportive and very encouraging.

I heard a knock on the door, so I lazily got up from the bed to check who was at the door. It was my best friend, Liam, although Liam was two years older than me, she treats me like a big sister because I was a lot more bigger in size than her.

"Who's there ?" I asked sleepily

"Mia, it's me Liam" she said in a very cheerful tone

"What are you doing here by this time of the night Liam ?" I asked with a audible tone because I was fully awake already.

I allowed her in then we sat on the floor and started talking

"I have something to tell you Mia" Liam said with a smirk

"What is it Liam, don't keep me in suspense please" I said curiously with a cat eyes

"Just guess Mia"

"I don't know how to guess you know this"

"Okay okay" Mia said with an irritated face

"Concerning what we discussed yesterday, you told me to inform you in case I see any job vacancy around"

"Yes, I did. Did you see any job vacancy ? "I said with my eyes wild open

"Of course I did and I know you are definitely fit for the job girl" Liam said smiling.

"Stop teasing me, so what is the job description ?"

"Well, it's an office job, you are gonna be the secretary of the company. It is a well known company, Luckery Corporation"

"Yeah, I have heard about that company, it is a very big company I must admit"

"I know right, you have to start getting prepared because the interview sessions are gonna start by 8am tomorrow"

"I need to go get ready then. Thank you so much Liam, you've been more of a sister than a friend to me. I'm really grateful for all you do" I said almost tearing up

"Don't cry girl" Liam said while laughing loud

"What are friends for then if we don't help each other? You're now like a sister to me and I will surely do anything within my power to ensure you're fine girl" she said while tapping my head

"Thanks Liam. I think I should go iron my dress because tomorrow is gonna be a big day"

"Not too fast mrs secretary, you haven't offered me anything since I came" Liam said while holding her belly

"Oh sorry I forget, let me get something for you to eat"

"Thanks girl" Liam said hungrily

Mom and Jace came back very late that night. They were both surprised to see Liam because she had never said as long as that in our house.

"Good evening mummy" I and Liam uniformly greeted my mom

"Good evening Aunty Mia and Aunty Liam" Jace also greeted as he waved to the both of us

"How are you doing Jace ?" Liam asked him

"Welcome mummy, how was your day ?" I asked my mom as I helped her carry the bags she came in with

"Very stressful Mia" Mom said tiredly. I felt pity for her because I know how hard she works everyday just to make I and my little brother comfortable

"I made something for the both of you to eat at least that's the least I can do to help, I'll go set the table now"

"Liam!!! come help me set the table" I shouted on top of my voice

"Okay Mia, I'm coming" she ran down to the kitchen

After eating, mom and Jace went to the bedroom to sleep while I and Liam continued our conversation because she already decided to spend the night in our house. I decided to change the topic and I asked her about her relationship

"So how are you guys going ?" I asked with a while pouring myself a glass of juice

"Who are you talking about ?" Liam asked pretending not to know who I was talking about

"I know you know who I'm referring to, well am talking about Jackson" I said with a smirk

"He is doing fine, I was at his place before I came here"

"Are you for real !!?" I asked with my hand covering my mouth

"Wow, that's so nice. I pray this new relationship of yours lasts" I said jokingly

"It will Mia, be postive"

"You better start getting prepared for your job interview tomorrow and stop pokenosing into my love life" Liam said with a light smile

"Tomorrow is gonna be a big day. I really need to get prepared"

"Yeah, you also need to sleep on time so you would wake up early and get there before 8am"

"Okay, I'm gonna go with you on this one. You also need to sleep early too so you would wake up early and then go to your house to make some explanations to where you've been" I said and we both laughed

"Goodnight Mia. Sweet dreams, Angels on your pillow"

"Same here sweetheart. Sleep tight and dream of Jackson"

She laughed so hard before she drifted immediately to sleep.

MIA'S POV:

I woke up as early as 5am this morning because I knew today was gonna be a very very hectic day for me. I went to mom's room to check if she was still asleep because I couldn't tell her the previous day about the job interview. Fortunately, she was awake already

"Good morning mom, how was your night ?" I asked with a sleepy voice

"Fine Mia and yours ?" She asked

"Fine mom, I have something to tell you" I because serious

"What is it Mia ?" she asked abandoning what she was doing earlier

"I'm gonna be going for a job interview today" I said while smiling

"A job interview ?"

"What company are you planning on working with ?" Mom asked

"Luckery Corporation mom"

"What!!! Luckery Corporation ??"

She continued "Wow, I wish you all the best Mia"

"Thanks mom, I'll make you proud I promise" I said smiling

"That's the spirit my girl. Go make mummy proud" she said walking towards me with her arms open for a hug

"Come give me a hug girl"

I ran to hug my mum. That was one of the happiest moment of my life.

I went to the guest room where Liam slept to wake her up.

"Wake up Liam, sleepy head" I shook her

"Huhh" Liam murmured

"Wake up girl, you gotta take your bath and go to work" I continued shaking her

"Okay okay I'm up already" she said as she was dozing off

I dragged her out of the bed to the bathroom while I also went to my room to take my bath.

After about twenty minutes, I heard a knock on my door. It was my little brother, Jace.

"Come in" I said with a light tone.

Jace kept knocking because I guess he didn't hear me well

"Come in" I shouted on top of my voice. Jace came in with a bowl of soup mom had prepared. My room was scattered because I ransacked my wardrobe in search of the right shoes to fit my dress. Jace who was half asleep, sleepwalked towards my bed when he mistakenly stumbled against one of the shoes lying on the floor.

"Jezz" He whimped in pain not realizing he had spilled the soup on my dress. The one I was going to wear for the interview precisely.

"Be more careful next time" I yelled angrily. I tried to wash off the stains from the dress but I wasn't coming off.

"Argh" I stamped my feet on the floor angrily. I thought of what to do next so I decided to inform Liam about the dress. I hurriedly walked up to the guest room where Liam slept the night before.

"Liam!!!" I shouted so hard that I could feel the house vibrate. I searched the room and the whole house and I still couldn't find her. I decided to ask mom if she saw her.

"Mom, I searched the house for Laim, but I can't find her, do you know where she could be ?". Mom said Liam had left earlier because she got a call from her mom about her ill dad.

"What am I gonna do right know ?" I asked myself. It was 7am already, so I decided to rush down to Liam's house if she could lend me one of her clothes.

LIAM'S POV:

"Dad will be fine, okay ?" I tried consoling my mom.

I heard a knock on the door. It was Mia, I was surprised to see her at my house, I allowed her in immediately. That was the second time she was visiting me at my house and it seemed she still hasn't gotten used to the magnificent mansion. My mom and Mia exchanged pleasantries and from my mom's expression, she was both surprised and happy to see her.

"I need to see you urgently" Mia whispered into my ears. My mom after seeing her action knew we were gonna be needing privacy so she left the living room. Mia narrated what happened back at her house to me then she asked if I had some clothes she could wear for the interview.

"We ain't wearing the same of clothes, Mia" I said with a confusing look

"I know but you should have some bigger clothes I can wear" she held my hands tight with a pleading eyes

"Okay okay, I think I have some, follow me to my room"

MIA'S POV:

I returned home a bit late. Luckily, Liam was able to find a suitable dress for me.

"This dress is beautiful" I paused for a second to admire it. I hurriedly did a light make-up and got ready. I looked at myself in the mirror and I was so beautiful.

"You look so good, Mia" Mom who had been standing at the door for a while complimented me. I hugged my mom before leaving. Liam already sent her driver to come pick me up.

The office reception was filled with a lot of people who came for the interview. It seemed the boss had not arrived yet. I took a number and then found somewhere to sit. After about twenty minutes, I saw a man walked into an office, seems that's was boss in charge. I heard people murmur, some ladies also trying to adjust their shirts so their cleavages would entice the boss. I stayed calm and silently prayed I got the job. Not long after, numbers were being called out. I saw people go in and come out, I must admit I was was really really nervous. It got to my turn to be interviewed, I stood up and hurriedly walked towards the office. Before I entered, I silently said a short prayer. "Good morning sir" I greeted the boss.

He answered me while he was looking down. I then told him I was for the interview

"Okay, have your sit" he continued "Let me have.." he abrubtly stopped talking as he faced up. He kept staring at me for a while before he continued. I was asked a few questions which I answered confidently and correctly. He told me to submit my credentials to the manager and that I would be called to start soon.

I was a bit unhappy because I wasn't sure I was gonna be called but I kept my hopes high.

I got home tired and hungry. I went into the kitchen in search of what to eat, I was the only one home. After eating, I decided to read a novel. I picked up a novel from the book shelf and went into my room. It was a romance novel I had been reading for a while now. I was fantasizing and imagining things before I slept off.

REGAL'S POV:

After a long day at work, I decided to close for the day. I drove into an eatery and ordered a plate of Fried rice and chicken with a blended Orange fruit juice. While I was eating, I remembered a young lady I interviewed earlier today. She was so beautiful and elegant. She had a great physique with a charming emerald green eyes. "Is this love at first sight ?" I battled with my own thoughts. "Beep beep" I was brought back to reality as my phone rang for the second time. I slowly ate my meal while thinking about the young girl. "She is the right one for the job" I said with a light smile. I decided to get more informations about her when I got home.

On reaching home, I jumped out my car and ran towards the door. I rang the door bell and the door opened within a second. I scanned the living room and nobody was there so I thought it was better to go to my room. I heard some footsteps behind me and just as I was about to turn, someone appeared in front of me. It was Mrs Bryson, my mother. "Welcome back son, hope you good ?" She said admist laughter. I heaved a sigh of relief "I'm good mom, you scared the hell out of me". "Table is set, come join me" mom said as she dragged me to the dining table. I told her I had some documents to work on which I needed to finish before tomorrow; I lied. I went to my room and thought about how I could get information about the young lady. "Damn, I should have collected her number" I wistfully said. I then remembered I told her to submit her credentials to the Manager. I picked up my phone and called Mr Mave, the manager. I tried to remind him of the lady who submitted her credentials to him but he couldn't remember so I had to wait till the next day. I was pained but also happy that I had some information of her within my reach. I couldn't wait for the next day. 'Knock knock' my door flew open within a second. I was startled at first but later relieved when my dad walked in. "Evening son, how you doing" he sat down on the couch closer to my bed. "Good dad thanks" I got out of bed. Dad asked about the interview and the only thing that popped up in my head was the young beautiful lady. Her emerald green eyes, her soft lips, her hot legs. I was getting infatuated with this lady. I was in my own world of fantasy. "Regal !!" I heard my dad call me. I was quickly snapped back into reality. I was so much lost in my thoughts. We talked for a while before he retired to his room. I also fell asleep on the couch.

MIA'S POV:

I woke up late in the night. I went to the living room but it seemed everyone had slept already. I put on the Television to watch a movie or something before I heard my phone ring. I rushed into my room but it stopped ringing before I could answer. It was Daisy, one of my favorite cousins. I had no idea why she called me so I called her back but she didn't pick up. I then remembered I hadn't called Liam since I came back so I picked up my phone and called her. "Hey girl, how was the interview ?" Liam screamed over the phone. I explained to her everything that happened from the moment I walked into the boss's office and how I was a little nervous. I told her about the way the boss stared at me like he knew me from somewhere. "Looks like the boss has fallen in love with my best friend" Liam teased me as usual. "Is the boss handsome ? Is he tall ? Is he muscular ? Liam kept asking questions. "You need to slow down girl but to be honest, he is so handsome" I sincerely said. Liam who is always interested in topics like this just kept asking questions. I told her about what the boss also said that he was gonna call me to start soon but I wasn't sure if he was gonna call me. "He's gonna call you, you are more than fit for the job. Just keep your hopes high and stop getting yourself worked up" Liam always knew how to encourage me. I made sure to ask how her dad was faring. We talked a bit more before we ended the call. I kept wondering why the boss who interviewed me today was like that. He abruptly stopped when he saw my face. Was it that I looked familiar or he was astonished by my beauty ?. I just couldn't stop asking myself so many questions because it was something I had never experienced before. I got out of bed and walked into my mom's room to check up on her. She was sleeping soundly. I went to Jace's room to also check up on him and he was also sleeping peacefully. I headed for the living room to put off the television which I turned on a while ago. I picked up a romance novel on my way to my room because I knew I wouldn't sleep anytime soon. I climbed on my bed then I started reading the novel but I couldn't get my mind off the man who interviewed me today. Why ?? Am I in love ??
