Attracted: A Love Game

Author: : Jun Shangye
Genre: Romance
Diana got a part-time job to teach art in college just because she was bored. However, never in her wildest dreams had she expected that she would offend Ryan, the genius but domineering CEO, who took over his family's company at sixteen and extended its branches both at home and abroad. He played different tricks on her to vent his anger, but he gradually lost his heart to her before he came to the realization. Yet, she could not make a response to his love.

Chapter 1 She Is So Blind (Part One)

The multimedia classroom of the Edgar College was occupied as usual on Friday. The young art teacher breathed a sigh of relief, and then ascended the platform with a sweet smile. She opened the list and said loudly, "Good afternoon, students. Let's do a roll call before class. Amy Lu, Gary Jiang, Bella Zhang..."

The sound of "here" came one after another. Diana Ning's heart skipped a beat. It seemed like all her classmates were really excited about studying art, but her joy instantly withered away when she fell upon a certain name.

"Ryan Luo! Ryan Luo!"

There was a moment of silence, and then a heated discussion broke out.

Two girls with heavy make-up in the front row were very straightforward.

"Oh no! Ryan didn't come! I'm here for nothing then."

"Haha, did you think you could seduce him with your looks alone?"

"You're so ridiculous!"

"Well, even though Ryan didn't come, Rex and Cheney are here anyway. They're good-looking too."

Diana Ning frowned. Ryan Luo attended her first class, but he had been absent several times since then.

She had a good memory and didn't forget the arrogant look on that face. The Edgar College was a high-status university, but how could a student be so disrespectful?

She decided to talk to Ryan Luo's head teacher after class.

Two hours later, she sat in a luxurious and high-end cafe in A City, the Purple Bonny Coffee Club, looking at the waitress with a sad face.

"Please don't do that." The waitress was very embarrassed. "It's not the right time. If the manager sees me chatting with you during work, I'll be fired."

Seeing two customers come in, the waitress promptly went up to them, carrying a menu.

"Lulu..." Diana Ning put her hands on the table and struggled desperately.

The waitress, whose name was Lucy Li and whose nickname was Lulu, almost fell to the ground. She warned her with her eyes. Then she forced a smile and greeted the guests, asking, "How many are you, Sir? Would you like a private room?"

The leading guest stared at Lucy Li with a sour face, as if he was looking at an idiot. This hurt her feelings.

"Didn't you graduate from primary school? You can't even count!" The manager who heard the conversation rebuked her in a low voice. Then he pushed away Lucy Li, nodded and bowed to the guest, "Mr. Luo, I'm sorry. This way please, Mr. Luo."

Witnessing that scene, Diana Ning curled her lips with disdain and sighed in her heart, reflecting that rich people were always so arrogant.

As she shook her head, she was surprised when that man approached her. His sneering eyes met hers.

With a guilty conscience, Diana Ning looked away and scolded herself for being useless. What was she guilty of? She did nothing wrong. And what was that strange look in his eyes?

That man sat down at the table next to her.

He was really good-looking, and his demeanor was much better than that of the other guys. The handmade suit he was wearing fit him perfectly. Several female guests nearby couldn't help but look at him with shy excitement.

'Those shallow women..." Diana Ning spat in her heart. The male secretary following the man explained to the manager of Purple Bonny Coffee Club, "There's no need to take us to a private room. We're in a hurry. Two cups of Blue Mountain coffee without sugar. And some food. Hurry up."

"Don't worry, Assistant Tang. It will be ready soon!" The manager was obsequious. He turned around and looked at Lucy Li with another irritated face. "Lucy, why are you still standing there? Didn't you hear what the man said?"

"Yes, Sir!" Despite the rudeness, Lucy Li was the least bit upset. She turned around and started to prepare the order. Her diligent look made Diana Ning feel sad.

After all the things were served to the two distinguished guests, Lucy Li came to Diana Ning when the manager wasn't looking. She asked her in a low voice, "Why did you come to me at this time? What happened? Or did that old witch give you a hard time again?"

Diana Ning's face froze. "Actually, she has been very restrained since grandpa gave the order last time." She couldn't understand how Lucy Li tolerated having her salary squeezed by the manager of that cafe. However, what she was suffering was no better than her friend. She also lost her happiness just for some pennies.

Then she smiled and said, "I'm not here to talk about that. It's a student of my class. He has been absent three times already. I went to his head teacher, but she told me not to interfere."

"Then you don't have to worry about it. Anyway, your art class is only an optional course, so they aren't afraid to skip it." Seeing Diana Ning's grumpy face, Lucy Li quickly added, "That head teacher is too irresponsible about him. How can she be so tolerant about him after getting so many reports?"

"Yes!" Diana Ning nodded. "Do you think I should talk to his parents?"

'None of your business!' Lucy Li thought that Diana Ning went to the Edgar College to be a part-time art teacher just because she was bored. She was really worried that Diana Ning would make trouble, so she urged her, "I heard that the students in the Edgar College are either rich or powerful. I think Ryan Luo is the same. You'd better listen to the head teacher and leave it alone."

"But..." Diana Ning still wanted to argue about it, but she heard the sound of "clang" from the table next to her as the coffee spoon of Assistant Tang fell to the ground.

With a strange look on his face, Assistant Tang stared at the two of them. Maybe it was just an illusion, but that man, who had his back to them, looked stiff all over, as if he was faintly venting his anger.

Lucy Li gave Assistant Tang a new spoon, and he thanked her. But he didn't dare to look at the two young ladies again, so he lowered his head and gulped down the coffee.

Chapter 2 She Is So Blind (Part Two)

"Diana, please vote for me. The best waiter will be rewarded with five thousand yuan. Nancy has fifty points more than me right now." Lucy Li came to Diana Ning again and took out her iPad.

Diana Ning took it over and looked at it. To support her friend, she exclaimed, "Wow, that slippery Nancy must have cheated, right? Otherwise, how could she be so far ahead of you?"

Assistant Tang couldn't help but look at her again.

Looking around at the guests who were drinking coffee quietly, Lucy Li felt a little embarrassed by her loud voice and stepped back.

"I guess she must be having an affair with your manager. Otherwise, how could she be the head of her teammates in just two months?" Diana Ning said peevishly.

Nancy Zhang was often relaxing in the dressing room, but when she saw the handsome and rich guests come in, she ran faster than anyone else. It seemed so unreasonable that the manager praised her every day.

Diana Ning took the opportunity to teach Lucy Li. She explained, "You just don't like to dress up. Look at that Nancy, she's not as beautiful as you, but she wears make-up every day, and her collar is even lower than the collar of a bar-girl. Your manager really likes that."

Sitting next to them, Assistant Tang had no choice but to put down the spoon. He was afraid that it would fall again.

The man sitting opposite to Assistant Tang snorted.

'What? Will he be afraid of being exposed?' Diana Ning was a little annoyed, and squinted at the manager's back.

Lucy Li had to press her, "Hurry up. Vote and leave. I have to go back to work."

"You are so heartless. What about my troubles?" Diana Ning muttered, and pressed her thumb to the screen to vote for Lucy Li.

Feeling her manager's sharp eyes glaring at her, Lucy Li shrugged and said in a low voice, "You can leave now. I'll come to you when I'm free."

"When are you free?" Every month, Lucy Li would have to take Nancy Zhang's shift when the latter took two days off with many excuses. As a result, Lucy had no time to have a rest.

When Diana came out of the office of Ryan Luo's head teacher, she was furious. She was expecting to pour out her annoyance to Lucy, but she was prevented by the manager. The more she thought about it, the more pissed off she felt. In her irritation, she shouted at the manager in the corner, "I'm in a hurry. I want a cup of Blue Mountain coffee without sugar, and some food. Hurry up."

Wasn't that what Assistant Tang just said?

The man being addressed Mr. Luo put down the coffee cup heavily with his back to her.

With a livid face, the manager didn't dare to look at Assistant Tang. He walked quickly to Diana, but she smiled back. "I'm sorry. I just remembered that I have to attend a dinner party later, so I'd better not order it. Bye!" Then she picked up her handbag and strode away in a huff.

She had long black hair, tied into a lively and beautiful ponytail at the back of her head. As she walked, her figure traced a lovely and dazzling arc in the air.

The manager's face turned as red as a turkey cock. If it weren't for his obligation to put "customer first", he would rush up and shout, "Miss, how could you be so shameless?" She came there once a week, but never bought anything. Was the Purple Bonny Coffee Club an open-air square?

Lucy saw Diana waving goodbye to her through the thick glass wall, and her heart beat profoundly.

Now she counted herself lucky that the manager was good enough not to fire her.

With a smile that was uglier than a frown, Lucy went behind the bar counter to avoid the manager's sharp eyes.

Seeing the spilled Blue Mountain coffee in front of his boss, Assistant Tang asked deferentially, "Mr. Luo, would you like another cup of coffee?"

Ryan Luo, picked up the tissue on the table and wiped his lips suavely. He said indifferently, "No, thanks."

Then Assistant Tang glanced at the untouched pasta. Knowing that his boss was in a gloomy mood, he didn't dare to say anything.

That lady who had left the cafe just now was so blind. If she was a teacher in the Edgar College, it meant that she also came from a rich family. But she didn't even pay attention when she heard the name of the young master of the Luo Group, Ryan Luo, and even treated him like a child. No wonder his boss was angry.

And did he hear it wrong? That teacher wanted to talk to his boss's parents. It was ridiculous!

In fact, Jeremy Tang, the assistant of Luo Group, was not much older than Ryan, but he looked mutual than him. Even so, the subtle expression on his face at the moment couldn't be hidden from Ryan.

With a snap, Ryan dropped the tissue in his hand and ordered his assistant with an icy look, "Ask Rex what classes he has chosen for me this year. Is the art teacher named Diana Ning?"

He couldn't believe that anyone could be stupid as to speak about him disrespectfully.

"Yes, Sir!" Jeremy Tang replied, lowering his head. For a moment, he felt sorry for Diana.

Ryan had a very high IQ. When he was sixteen years old, he took over the Luo Group from Ted Luo. In just a few years, the Luo Group had become a leading enterprise in A City and extended its branches both at home and abroad.

Ted Luo believed that young people should enjoy their youthful experiences, so he asked Ryan to register in the Edgar College, funded by the Luo Group, so that he could experience university life during his free time.

However, Diana had already offended Ryan after he only attended her class once.

Jeremy Tang shook his head to himself, and then shouted to Lucy who was hiding behind the bar counter, "Waiter, pay the bill."

Chapter 3 Such A Mother-in-law (Part One)

After leaving the Purple Bonny Coffee Club, Diana wandered the streets for a while in a moody manner, pondering the events of her day. Eventually the evening fell and the city lights were lit up, and she remembered that she had to go back home to the Mu clan's mansion. It was luxurious and beautiful, but depressing, like a golden cage.

Kay was waiting at the door. When she saw Diana's car, she rushed into the house and shouted, "Mr. Henry, Mr. Henry, Mrs. Diana is back!"

Henry Mu was generally quite blunt and plain-spoken, but he was very gentle with his granddaughter-in-law. When he heard that Diana had come back, his long face finally softened. He put down the newspaper in his hand and ordered, "Then let's have dinner."

The servants of the Mu clan began to work.

Diana's mother-in-law, Mrs. Wilson, glanced at the huge crystal clock hanging on the wall. The shorter needle was pointing to seven o'clock. She was furious that this bitch was really capable of making the whole family wait for her until then. Thinking about how her husband, whom she couldn't control, was fooling around with another woman, she was even more irritated.

"Charles, dinner is ready!" Mrs. Wilson said to her son, who was playing with his mobile phone, and then ordered Kay, "Go and ask Miss Jenny to come downstairs for dinner."

When Diana entered the house and saw everyone was about to have dinner, she was stunned.

Diana's sister-in-law, Jenny Mu, had just come down from the spiral staircase. Touching her empty stomach, she mocked, "Are you still willing to come back? Why don't you just let our whole family starve to death?"

In fact, Diana didn't really know that they would wait for her. She was at a loss and turned her head instinctively toward her husband. But Charles Mu, as if he were an outsider, didn't look at her at all. He just lowered his head and continued playing with his mobile phone.

Diana felt a little sad. Although she didn't love this man, he was her husband and the person she should be able to rely on for the rest of her life. Even though it was not a dream marriage, she still craved the tenderness and sweetness between husband and wife.

She lowered her head to hide the tears in her eyes.

With a snap, Henry Mu threw down the chopsticks in his hand unhappily and said in irritation, "Will you starve to death in such a short time? Do you even know how much we suffer when we were eating lamb?"

His displeasure was directed at his granddaughter. Under his intimidating anger, Jenny Mu didn't dare to make a sound. She glared at Diana resentfully and sat beside her mother.

Henry Mu roared at his grandson then, "You want to hold your phone all day long? Then don't eat anything and go back to your room!"

Charles Mu had been scolded by him since he was a child, so he wasn't scared or hurt. But he was afraid that his grandfather would cut off his living expenses, so he put his phone down and ate with chopsticks obediently.

He never took a look at his wife, as if she was just a stranger who had entered the house by accident.

"Diana, are you tired from work? Are you hungry? Sit down and eat." Henry Mu waved at Diana. His attitude to her was absolutely different.

He scolded his granddaughter and then scolded his grandson, but he doted on Diana, who was an outsider. Mrs. Wilson was so angry that she couldn't help but say, "Jenny has heavy schoolwork, and Charles was working at the company all day. Can't you see they are all tired? Our Mrs. Diana has so much free time that she only goes to school once a week, but you care about her too much."

The word "Mrs. Diana" was definitely the worst irony for Diana.

Henry Mu frowned. When he was about to scold his daughter-in-law, he saw Diana smiling. She sat beside him and said fawningly, "The students like me very much. Every classroom is full. I don't think I'm tired at all. Thank you for finding me this job."

Seeing this, Mrs. Wilson and her daughter rolled their eyes at the same time and cursed in their hearts, 'What a flatterer!'

Henry Mu was pleased by her words, and the sullen wrinkles on his face were transformed into a smile. He said soothingly to Diana, "As long as you are happy." He picked up the chopsticks again and waved them. "Let's eat."

Diana breathed a sigh of relief.

In fact, how could Henry Mu not understand her quiet and resigned attitude? But looking at his mean daughter-in-law and granddaughter, and his grandson who was so indifferent, he could only shake his head and sigh.

The Mu clan owed this child in the end.

After dinner, Jenny Mu went back to her room to do her homework. Mrs. Wilson couldn't wait to go out and play mahjong with the ladies she had made an appointment with. As usual, Henry Mu watched TV in the living room for a while. Diana chatted with him for a while, and then Henry Mu suggested that she should go back to her room.

Looking at the light in his eyes, Diana knew the old man's plan. She smiled and went upstairs.

The Mu clan was a big family and they lived in the best villa district in A City. The house had three floors, and the third floor was where she and Charles Mu lived. The master bedroom was spacious and bright, but Charles Mu had never been in it. He would rather live in the guest room alone.

Looking at the European-style door of the master bedroom, Diana smiled bitterly. Who would have thought that she had been single for more than a year after getting married?

She sniffed and thought that it was all for the best. After all, how could she deserve such a handsome and rich man like Charles Mu? It was better to give him up at the beginning, so as to avoid the pain of losing him in the future.

When she was about to go back to her room, the door of the guest room was opened all of a sudden. Charles Mu appeared with an anxious look on his face, and held her hand. "Diana, go out with me."

She glanced at his hand holding her wrist and asked with a frown, "What happened?"

Until then, Charles had always seemed rather abstracted and didn't care much about anything. She rarely saw him like that.

Charles pulled her and walked out, "Anne's belly hurts!"

Diana was dragged away by him with self-mockery and helplessness. She had told herself that only his lover, Anne Liu, could make Charles feel worried. However, Henry was very strict with his grandson. It was so late, and Charles had to ask her for help to make an excuse for going out of the villa.
