Ashley's Rebirth

Today was the 5th day of the month of September and counting down, it's been two years since that horrible incident.

Lost in thoughts, Ashley stood in front of her mirror trying so hard not to let guilt overwhelm her. Her rain of thoughts is however interrupted by a noise coming from behind her.

"What's up with you Luciana? You are the only one who has the right to barge into the Luna's room. Even my husband would knock at times." Ashley with arms akimbo pretends to be angry.

"Try kick me out then. I am sure you can't do that." Luciana lips curved slightly, giving off a sheepish grin as she replied.

Luciana knew what her friend was thinking about and she could not help but be happy to see guilt written all over her face. It would make things much easier for others to believe with her attitude.

Two years ago, while Ashley and Martins were still in courtship, Martin's niece got missing and the body was found months later.

Ashley and Luciana had gone to the alpha's family house to make some preparations for her upcoming wedding and to celebrate the alpha's father's birthday.

Everleigh, Martin's six year old niece had followed both friends to get something outside the house without the knowledge of anyone. They only noticed a small creature running towards the car. Ashley was driving but it was too late to stop the brakes as it knocked her out and she died instantly.

This was Martin's beloved niece and she just killed her even though it was unintentional.

Luciana suggested they dispose off the body in a far away wood else her marriage plans will be stopped while they both will be thrown in prison for murder.

They got rid of the body easily as no one was along the way to see what happened.

This was all in the past but Ashley could not still get over the guilt and torture of killing her husband's relative and burying the truth.

Although the body was found later, it could not be traced back to them.

"Here, have a glass of juice. I know what you are thinking about but you do not have to keep immersing yourself in guilt. Nobody is ever going to find out. My lips are sealed." Luciana said as she handed over the cup to her worried friend.

"Thank you, dear. You indeed know me so well but I just can't help it." She smiled in return as she collected the glass of juice.

"You're welcome. That's the least I can do for my queen." She said, letting out a soft laugh while making sure that she drank the whole juice in the cup.

Luciana cast her gaze around the large beautiful heaven of her friend and smiled inwardly knowing it would soon be hers.

She had drugged the juice Ashley just drank with a potent sleeping drug and it would not take long before the effects begin to manifest. She was happy that the first step was easy.

" I feel so tired and I think I need to rest."

"You have been thinking a lot lately and that may be the reason. You need to sleep well to receive your guests as the host for your father in-law's birthday this year." Luciana said as she hurried out with the cup in her hands.

As she left, she turned to the kitchen to dispose off the cup so there would be no evidence that she drugged the drink.

Luciana strolled back to the Luna's room to check if she had really fallen asleep and if it was time to carry out the second plan.

Peeping inside the room, she looked at the sleeping Luna and tiptoed inside. With little efforts, she waved her hands over Ashley's face and confirmed that she was deeply asleep.

Aside the fact that today was a sad day for Ashley, today was also Ashley's father in-law's birthday.

They didn't want a grand ceremony. It would just be a small gathering of family members to mark the old man's birthday.

The whole house was been set up by the maids and servants. Although it was something simple, everywhere needed to be clean and sparkly.

Luciana was also involved in helping out as she was considered a close family friend.

While moving about to help out, she slipped a note into the hands of a male servant. He swiftly collected the paper and nodded his head in comprehension.

Limuel, the newly employed servant whom Luciana had deceived and promised to pay his sick mother's bill made his way to the Luna's room.

He looked around the hallway to make sure nobody was following him. As he walked towards the door, the words of Luciana kept ringing in his ears.

"You know anything can happen to your mother at the snap of my fingers. I bet you wouldn't want to lose your sick mother. You had better do a good job. No mistakes and your mother would be safe."

"I must do a good job. I can't fail this one." He heaved a heavy sigh as he thought inside him.

He turned the door knob and entered into the room. From inside, he locked the door so nobody would barge in. Taking out a small container from his pocket, he picked up a bottle of water from the table and swallowed a small pill he had removed from the container.

His chest was thumping loudly as he hurried to undress Ashley who was on the bed.

"I am sorry Luna but I have to do this. Forgive me." He mutters under his breath.

He strips her naked leaving only her undies on. With that, he also pulls off his clothes and laid down beside the sleeping Luna. With the duvet, he covered both himself and the Luna.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Limuel sat up quickly while trying to figure out who could be at the door. The knock didn't last for long as he heard another footstep coming closer.

"The Luna doesn't want to be distributed. I believe she is fast asleep now." A voice from outside said to the other.

"Alright, head maid. I just thought to check up her if she needed anything." The maid replied.

Limuel heaved a sigh of relief and laid down back. He soon fell asleep as he also took a sleeping pill.

It was evening and the other family members had started arriving for the birthday celebration. The family members that were present shook hands and greeted one another as they waited for the celebrant to arrive.

The host of the party, alpha Martins was already in the hall welcoming the people who had arrived but his Luna was not yet around. He looked around the hall to see if he could catch a glimpse of her probably she was too busy doing some finishing touch preparations.

"This is unlike Li. Where could she be?" He thought.

Becokning on a maid nearby, he said, "Go find Luna Ashley. I have not seen her in the hall."

As he finished talking to the maid, the front doors opened. The celebrant had arrived!

Alpha Martins walked briskly yet maintaining his aura as the alpha to greet his father.

"Welcome father." He bowed his head respectfully.

"Thank you, son. Where is my daughter in law?"

" She went to get something quickly. She will be here soon." He said, covering up for his wife's absence to welcome his father.

"Okay. Then..."

"Alpha!" The maid came back looking a little bit worried.

"What is it?" Alpha Martins asked.

"I can't find the Luna anywhere around the house and her room is locked. I couldn't open it because I don't have access to the master key."

Everyone including his father looked at alpha Martins, worried and baffled. Luciana stood at a corner, smiling mischievously.

"Alright, meet beta Carl for the key." He finally managed to say to the maid.

She goes to beta Carl and then gets the key.

However, opening the door, the sight she saw made her scream at the top of her voice.

Just then, she hears the alpha's loud growl. "What's going on?"

ASHLEY'S POV

I hear the voices of different people talking at the same time. Am I dreaming or hallucinating? Opening my eyes, I realize there is a young man lying beside me and a small crowd had formed in front of me. My sixth senses tells me something is wrong.

"What is happening here?" I jerked up in alarm.

I am not sure what is going on but then it dawns on me that I was naked and not just naked but with another man in bed.

"Somebody tell me what's going on? Why am I in this state?" I yelled.

" No! You tell me why you are lying down peacefully with another man by your side. And oh, I thought you were getting ready for the birthday celebration. Is this public disgrace?" Martins growled back in anger.

I could see his wolf was getting hard to control.

I look around and see quite a number of his relatives in the room. I still could not understand what was going on.

Martins could not hold back his anger seeing me, his wife with another man on our bed and so he pounced on the man.

Beta Carl rushes in and tried to calm him down.

The unknown man to me woke up in the struggle and tried to run away. One of the maid recognizes him as Limuel a servant who was newly employed.

The pain on my husband's face increased.

"Please, please Martins! I wouldn't dare cheat on you. This isn't my doing. I don't know how all this happened. The last thing I can remember is falling asleep and then waking up to this mess." I try to plead with him.

But I guess nobody including him was going to believe me.

"Aren't you so cheap and lowly? I regarded you as a best friend but is this how you treat the people around you? Are you going to repeat the same thing that happened two years ago but in a different way? You still have the conscience to sleep with another man."

Everywhere suddenly became quiet as all turned to look at who had just spoken. I also turned to see where the voice came from. It was Luciana!

Everyone was baffled by Luciana's words. What does she mean? What happened two years ago? I thought they were best friends?

I could hear the whispers and hushed voices coming from different angles.

Beta Carl broke in, " Luciana, what is this all about?"

"Alpha, beta, I need your permission to speak on something important." She said.

" Go on." Martins said.

"Well, I only found out recently and thought it would be like supporting a murderer if I kept this to myself."

A murderer? What is Luciana up to? Why is she calling me a murderer and looking at me with contempt? Oh, no! With tears welling up in my eyes, I could not believe it was what I was thinking.

"The Luna here is the one who killed your niece two years ago."

"Killed? I thought she got missing and her dead body was found months later." Somebody said.

"That was all a cover up. She deliberately knocked her down, threw away her body and buried the whole matter." Luciana sneered.

"Impossible! Do you have proof? How dare you slander the luna? Beta Carl protested.

"Quiet, beta Carl. Go on with what you were saying Luciana." Father raised his hands to shut the beta up while he gave a go ahead to Luciana to keep speaking.

"Yes, there is a witness to prove what I just said. I insisted on following Ashley that day but she refused. I noticed something off about her behaviour lately and decided to find out what was wrong. I will allow the witness speak by himself." Luciana said.

"Alpha, I was at the scene when the whole incident happened. Luna Ashley ran over her, came out of her car, picked the body and drove off quickly. I quietly followed her and saw her disposing off the body at a place close to the human territory where nobody would discover quickly." The witness said.

I was shaking visibly at this moment. Fear and guilt was written all over my face.

"Luna Ashley is this true?" Martins voice jolted me back.

"I... didn't... Well, it's not as..." I started stammering.

"Answer me!" Martins shouted.

"It's true but I didn't hit her intentionally. It was a mistake." I managed to say with tears in my eyes. Loud gasps escaped the mouth of everyone in the room.

I couldn't believe that Luciana would do this to me. Alpha Martins stormed out of the room and I was scared of what would come next.

Alpha Martins POV

My heart was beating fast and my wolf, Max was getting agitated. "How could our mate do this to us? That means she doesn't love us." He whimpered.

I stormed out of the room to catch my breath and figure it out all . I didn't want to look like a weakling in front of so many people. It hurts, but I dare not cry. What I should do at least is to imprison her.

One part of me is furious while the other part is still fighting to accept the fact that she killed my niece and cheated on me with a mere servant.

I walked back calmly into the room and gave my order.

"Beta Carl, summon my prison guards to arrest her. Although she is the Luna, she has committed a grevious crime that is punishable by our law. As for this servant who had the nerves to sleep with my wife, he should be flogged thirty lashes of cane before thrown into the cell."

"Father, I am sorry about what happened and to think that it happened on a happy day like this, I feel so ashamed. Happy birthday, father." I said.

" You can still enjoy the party or retire home if you wish. But if you would please, I'd like to excuse myself." I said before turning to leave.

I cast one last look at Ashley crumpled on the floor and then left. I walked straight to my separate room. I feel like I need sometime to think and process all that had just happened.

I have lived with her for two years and to think that she would cheat on me and I'd get disgraced in front of the people I'm leading is something I never imagined.

"Let's go for a run. Sitting inside is not doing me any good." My wolf, Max said.

I stood up and was about to go out when I heard a knock on the door.

"I specifically said I do not want anybody to disturb me including you, beta Carl. So why..." Before I could finish, a voice came from outside. I had thought it was beta Carl knocking.

"It's me, Luciana."

"Come in." I said although I doubted why she is here to see me.

"I know what happened earlier came as a shock to you and you are quite devastated. I didn't think Ashley could do such a thing to you. I thought it would be right to spill everything out. I hope you don't think that I did something bad or I'm a wicked friend." She looked at me with those blue enchanting crystal eyes.

I couldn't resist it and I lowered my guards down.

"No, it's fine. You did the right thing. I just still can't believe she would do such a thing to me. Ashley doesn't look like she could do that on the outside." I said, sitting on the bed with my hands cupped over my face.

While I bent my face over, she came closer and sat with me on the bed. She drapped one hands over my shoulders and drew me into her embrace. Her scent was taking over me. The scent of strawberries and chocolate!

I looked at Luciana and suddenly realized that she looked different today in my eyes than any other days I might have seen her.

"Don't think about it too much. She deserves it. I'll be here for you anyways." She said as she pressed her lips on mine.

I was startled for a while and fought back the urge to respond to her kisses.

"Arggh." My wolf growled inside. I know he wants me to do this. I have always been notorious with women since high school and it was so hard for me to resist this one.

My wife cheated on me and I don't think I should hold back, besides I am the alpha, who would care to talk anyways.

I threw all hesitation to the back of my head and grabbed her waist. I Iocked my lips on hers and dug into her mouth with my tongue.

"Hold on." She said panting while trying to pull off her top.

I pulled her to my laps instead and ripped off her clothes as my hard member was already standing erect.

My hands travelled along her naked body touching and sucking her supple breasts while hers on my hard member.

We did the deed. It felt so good. The night was blissful and passionate.

The birds chirping and the morning sunlight woke me up back to reality, back to a new day.

I looked at Luciana lying by my side. She turned around and saw me staring at her.

"Good morning." She smiled and gave me a good morning kiss.

"Morning. How are you feeling?" I said.

"I should be asking you that instead. I should get going now." She chuckled and and rose to put on her clothes.

"Alright, I'll see you later." I said

Well there was no time for me to dilly daily so I sprang up from bed as I wouldn't want to be late for work.

"Beta Carl, what's my schedule for today after my training this morning?" I said to him through my mind link.

" And get to my room quickly."

"Alright, alpha. I'll be there in a jiffy." Beta Carl replied.

He was soon in my room and he wouldn't let my ears rest with different questions I would rather not answer.

He kept pestering me even as I walked out of the room for my morning training.

"Will you go see the Luna? Maybe it's not true and it's just a false allegation she was forced to accept under threat. Probably there might be a way to vindicate her." He looked at me expectantly to give him a positive response.

With the look in his eyes, he wasn't going to budge.

"I'll try." I said just to refrain him from speaking further on the matter.

"But don't you think your students will be waiting for their instructor now?"

"Oh shit! I'll have to run along then." He said as he ran to meet up in time.
