"I'll go," Mia spoke.

She had been living rough in this mansion. How hard could it be to live in another mansion full of danger? Besides, she knew this would save her father's life. She doesn't want to be selfish like her step-sisters. She wanted to show how she love her father. Even if it will cost her life.

"Sweety," her father spoke. He was standing beside Mia's door watching her pack her clothes.

Mia looked at his father and smiled. "Dad," she said. Her father went near her and sat on the couch beside her bed. "I'm sorry," he said. "I know you shouldn't be in this situation. I promised your mother to protect you but," he paused.

Mia stopped packing and sat beside her father. "Dad, did you love mom?" she suddenly asked. Before she leaves, at least she knows if his father ever loved her mother. It's important to her.

"She's the sweetest. I loved everything about her," her father answered while looking back at the times when he was still with her mother.

Mia smiled and went back to packing her clothes. "I love you, dad. I hope I can still return to you," she sadly said.

Hearing that sad voice her father stood up, kissed her forehead, and embraced her. "I love you too sweety. Please come back anytime," he said after they parted. "Lina is coming with you. I don't want you to have a hard time at the new mansion," he said about the personal maid assigned to Mia.

Lina has been with her since she came to the de la Costa mansion. They have the same age that made them close to each other. She has been a personal maid and a best friend for her. "Thank you, dad," she replied.

Mia is done packing so she sat at her vanity table and looked at her reflection. Her long black hair was tied up while some are down covering her long eyelashes. She looked for the lip gloss that maintained her pinkish lips and applied it on. She then heard a knock from her bedroom door.

"Miss, have you packed everything already?" Lina asked.

"Yes, thank you for coming with me," she said as she looked at Lina.

"Wherever you go, I'll go. I'm your maid you know you can't leave without me," she jokingly said that made the both of them giggle.

Lina then carried Mia's luggage and put it in the van. The family driver will accompany them to Jake's mansion.

As they travel Mia noticed that the path has no sign of houses. It's like they have left the city. Where is Jake's mansion?

"Lina, are we out of town?" she asked.

"You didn't know miss? Your spouse lives in the mountain. Rumors say he prefers living there because he can easily kill and bury the people he wanted to kill in that place. They say that his mansion is murky and terrible. Ahhhh thinking about it makes me scared. What will happen to us now?" the maid continuously explained. These are just rumors but what if they are all true?

Mia kept quiet and continued her nap.

They were in the middle of the forest when the driver stopped. Mia opened the window and looked out. There they saw a bunch of men in a leather black jacket with their shades on, riding in their motorcycles. They are parked in line blocking their way.

'Ahhh, good old times,' she smirked as she was reminded of how she led her gang a long time ago.

The frontman removed his shades revealing his gorgeous face. He was standing out from the men at the back. He went down from his motorcycle and was about to go near the van when a ton of bullets ambushed them. The men quickly hid behind their motorcycles and held their guns, prepared to shoot their enemies.

"Miss! get out from the van, hide behind the trees it's not safe for you two here. We are in the middle of a war. Quick!" their driver exclaimed.

Lina promptly grabbed Mia's arm and lead her to a big tree where no one could notice. They both hid there and watched the two parties exchange bullets without stopping.

It has been a long time but both sides are still not showing signs to surrender. Mia and Lina are still hiding behind the tree waiting for the fight to stop.

Suddenly, a man on a red big motorbike appeared out of nowhere. He passed the tree where the two ladies are hiding. His and Mia's eyes met. Is he the demon king? She asked herself. The man was wearing a mask so she can't see his face. She continued to watch the man as he gets down from his bike. And pulls his gun from his pocket. His actions are very sharp and brisk. It's like she's watching a live-action film with the main lead on fire.

This man was quick and shot all their foes where in no time they were all down. "Woooah!" She heard the men scream with joy. They won the fight!

After their victory yell, they hurriedly drove their motorcycles leaving the two ladies still hiding in the big tree.

When they think no one is around already except the dead bodies lying on the ground they went out. There they saw their driver still in the van but has a shot on the forehead. Lina hid behind her back because of fright. Blood is all around the place but she didn't cringe. She had seen more than this when she was still fighting.

"What should we do now miss? Should we go back and tell your father about what happened?" Lina asked.

Mia knew her stepmother and step-sisters will make fun of what happened to them. And she's determined to make the man who left them in the middle of the forest pay for what he did. She is unwilling to go back. "We'll follow them," she seriously stated.

"What?! But miss it's dangerous. You saw how they brutally killed these men. What if they do that to us too," her maid protested.

She looked at her scared maid and looked in the direction where the men went. "You can go back if you're scared. I'm getting my revenge," she said and started walking towards the motorcycles' trails.

It's luck that the motorcycles left a trail for them to follow. They just followed it without stopping or resting. Mia is inferred to find that man instantly and ask him why they left them there. Does he hate her so much that he left them to die in that dangerous place? She kept asking herself.

After how many hours of walking, the sun is already down. The light of the moon helped them keep walking. They're exhausted but haven't given up yet.

"Miss! A light!" Lina said with a big hope in her heart. They've finally found the mansion. At last, they can rest.

"Good, now let's find a way in," Mia said and continued to walk towards the mansion. She didn't see any person at the gate so she thought that it's their chance to get in. She quickly went near the gate and started climbing.

"Oh no, miss what if they see and shoot you? Come down quick," Lina said.

"Just wait there and I will open the gate for you," Mia said as she was already at the peak of the gate. She's so fast. She was already going down and facing her maid when Lina's reaction changed.

"B...but miss?" Lina hesitated.

"What? Don't worry I'm careful. Hap!" She shouted as she jumped down from the gate.

"B...behind you," her maid stuttered as she points to Mia's back.

Mia slowly turned her back and saw a bunch of men standing in front of her. They're the men they saw in the forest. Their faces are really serious. There hands are on their pockets ready to pull their guns and shoot at them.

After a while, they gave way to a big man. His face is covered with a beard and his hair is like a bird's nest. His serious face frightened Lina and kept calling for the lady's name. But she kept her stand. Judging from his appearance she'll easily knock the man down. 'Is this the demon king?' she asked in her mind. She remembered how her step-sisters describe his husband. And she think their descriptions match this man.

The man kept walking towards her. She kept stepping backward until her body touches the gate. She stopped then saw a balcony. She can go up there first and plan another way to get her revenge. She run as fast as she could and managed to climb on the balcony. She looked down and saw the men looking up at her.

"Who are you," the man asked. 'Huh! pretending to not know anything eh?' she said to herself.

"I'm your wife!" she shouted. The men suddenly bowed their heads after her words. 'Are they paying respect to me?' she asked herself again. She slowly moved back to fully see the view. "Yes, that's it you should... Awh!" She screamed as her body bumped into a hard object.

As she slowly feel the object where she bumped into, she felt that it was weird for a wall to be this bumpy. She froze as she heard a man's voice near her ear. "Like it?" he whispered. Mia jumped in surprise and was about to fall from the balcony when she felt an arm wrapped around her hips. The man quickly pulled her back and they fell to the ground.

Their face is only one inch apart and she can smell the sweet smell from the man's breath. She stared at the man's face and realized how handsome he is. He's more gorgeous than those idols she saw on tv.

"You're heavy," the man whispered again, making her stand immediately. She was so speechless and embarrassed. The men below saw everything! She was still recovering from what happened when the man spoke again. "Who are you?" He asked in his serious tone.

"Uh...uhmmm..." Mia is out of words.

He then saw another handsome man whom they saw before the attack happened. He stepped forward, "Jake, I think she's Mr. de la Costa's daughter. We forgot about her after we fought with the Minx," the man explained.

Mia froze after hearing the name of the group the man mentioned. 'The Minx,' she repeated. It was the group she left 7 years ago. Now that she's gone their new leader destroyed her gang. Their leader would always make them fight and end up dying. He disregarded the goal of her gang. To protect and erase all the bad people in the world. She can't do anything though for she already abandoned them.

''Seven years ago?'' Mia carefully examined Jake, seemed to remember something, her face suddenly changed, Is it him?

Jake nodded in response and looked at the lady in front of him. "How did you manage to get here," he asked still with his serious face.

"Duh, we walked. How do you possibly think we would use to get here when you left us in the middle of nowhere!" She yelled. Her sadness changed into anger as soon as she remember what she and Lina had gone through. She then suddenly realized the man beside her is her real husband. "Oh, yeah. Can you please open the gate? My friend has been waiting outside," she added.

Jake looked at the girl outside the gate who is still wondering what has happened inside. Jake signaled his men to open the gate. "Where's the stairs," Mia asked. Jake pointed the stairs near them and Mia went down to see Lina.

"Miss, what happened?" Lina asked as soon as they meet. "Long story," she answered.

When she turned, the men are already gone, so was Jake. The only person who is with them is the big man she saw a while back.

"Lady, please follow me to your room," the man with beard politely said. The tone of his voice changed, from frightening into a calm one. His serious face also shifted.

The man lead them to a hallway until they reached its end. They stopped beside the door. "Miss, this is where you sleep tonight. Your friend will be in another room on the first floor," the man explained.

"Wait, can't we be in the same room? I don't trust all of you," she directly said. The man's reaction did not change.

"No, the lady should be in the master's bedroom. Her friend will stay in the guest room," the man explained again. Wait, what?! Master's bedroom? Does that mean that Jake is inside this room? She asked herself.

The man immediately got what the lady is thinking and said, "don't worry miss, boss went to the hideout to handle some matters. You sleep here alone," he explained.

Mia embarrassed herself again. What kind of mind does she have? She's always imagining things.

"Uh, thank you. May I know your name?" She asked.

"Please call me Sergio," he said. Mia smiled at him and went inside the bedroom.

Sergio then lead Lina to her room after the lady entered her room.

Meanwhile, as Mia opened the door she was amazed by how big the room is. It was dark but the light coming from the moon let her see the inside. The king-size bedroom is colored black. The sofa and tv are also black. The carpet is black, so is the door beside the tv. She opened it and saw the bathroom. She felt the urge of taking a bath after the long journey she had gone through. She felt sticky and her hair is a total mess. She saw a white Sergioe hanging beside the bathtub.

She filled the tub and soaked herself feeling the warmness inside her. "Aaah, so refreshing," she exclaimed. After her bath, she got the Sergioe and covered herself with it. She got her dirty clothes and put them inside the basket.

She then saw the walk-in closet and realized she doesn't have her clothes with her. They left it at the van when they followed Jake and his men.

"Ha! I'll borrow clothes from him. Besides, he is the reason why I don't have clothes now," she said and entered the closet.

As soon as she entered she was amazed by how organized it was. White clothes on the left side and black on the right side. His shoes are piled on another side. She saw a table with a glass cover in the center of the room. There she saw watches, rings, shades, and his ties. 'Wow' are the only words that escaped from her mouth.

When she felt really tired she went to the white section of Jake's clothes and grab a shirt. It was really big that it was like a dress on her. She was wearing only the shirt that showed her sexy body and white long legs.

After changing she went straight to the bed and slept immediately.

"Have you cleaned the mess?" Jake asked Dexter, his best friend / right hand.

"Yes, I've sent our men. Ms. de la Costa's driver was also there," he answered.

Jake just kept quiet and sipped his wine. Dexter then remembered Jake and Mia's marriage.

"Jake, what are you going to do? Are you really a married man now?" he asked as he drank the wine Dexter bought from an expensive club.

"The old man has already arranged everything. But send Mr. de la Costa's daughter home tomorrow," Jake directly said as he continued to drink his wine.

His friend just nodded as he also sip the wine from his glass.

"Good morning lady," Mia heard a chorus inside the room. She's still sleepy but the voice and the strong brightness kept her from sleeping again. She slowly open her eyes and saw three ladies standing in front of her.

"Aaaahhh!" She screamed as she covered her body with the quilt. She looked at the ladies and they're wearing white uniforms. They look like maids in this mansion. They were smiling at her that made her conscious of how she looked right now.

"Hello miss, we are here to help you get ready. Master is waiting for you downstairs," one of the maids told her. One was holding a red dress while the other is holding a stilleto.

After they dressed her, Lina entered the room while chasing her. It looks like she had run a marathon. "Ahhh! This mansion is really big. I have been looking for your room since the sun went up. AtlastAt lasts able to find you," Lina explained as she went near Mia. She helped her tie her long hair that made her even more attractive. "OMG, you're so beautiful my lady. Mr. Qin should prepare his jaw when she sees you hahaha," she said as they both giggled.

"Stop it," she protested, he still doesn't know the man. She should be cautious or she'll never see her father again. Although, she liked the idea of Jake dropping her jaw for her. She admits that she has a little crush on the man as soon as she saw his face yesterday. It's like they've known each other for a long time and have been in love ever since.

After preparing, Mia walked down the stairs. She heard amusement and praises as she walk. The maids loved how she elegantly slides down the stairs.

Jake on the other hand froze as soon as he saw the lady in red. He eventually got himself together and looked at his laptop again.

Mia approached Jake who is busy encoding in his laptop and sat in front of him.

"Is everything alright," Jake coldly said.

"Yeah," she answered.

Jake then closed his laptop and looked at her. "Now that everything is alright you should go back home. And about the engagement just forget about it," he said and stood up.

Mia was shocked when she heard what the man said. She just can't believe that he will make her leave just like that. When she was about to talk she saw that the man in front of her was already walking away.

She walked fast and blocked Jake's way. "Wait," she commanded. However, Jake ignored her and continued to walk.

She doesn't want to go back. She had come this far and her stepmother will only laugh at her especially her wicked step-sisters. She didn't want them to think she sacrificed herself for nothing. She wants to prove herself to them.

Mia then used all of her strength and pulled Jake's arm. However, Jake was still stronger. She was outbalanced and due to unexpected force, Jake fell, pulling Mia with him to the ground. She's on top of him again.

Jake smirked as they always end up in the same position every time they see each other. "You really like this position huh? Don't you want to do it in bed this time," he said.

Embarrassed, Mia quickly stood up and looked the other way. Jake on the other hand stood and continued to walk again. He was already away when Mia shouted. "I'm not going anywhere!"

Jake ignored her and went inside his office.
