Stop all this! I'm not willing to marry a woman like you!" A man struggled, wanting to be released from the grip of the two large men who were the men of the woman who smiled defiantly before him.
"Arley, your destiny is in my hands. Your beloved wife has exchanged you for money. Your duty is to be my husband, warming my nights. Do you understand?" the woman whispered in the ear of the man she called Arley.
"Crazy woman! I don't believe your nonsense! Let go of me!" Arley kept trying to break free, but he was not that strong. Her strength was nothing compared to the two bodyguards.
"I don't need you to believe me or not. Tomorrow on our wedding day, you will know all the facts. For now, enjoy all the treatments I have prepared, so that you look even more handsome and seductive tomorrow. Your face is so perfect, I don't know how your wife could foolishly
throw you away just for money." The woman stroked Arley's face with one hand, while her eyes traced every inch of the man's face with a passionate gaze.
When the woman was about to land a peck on his lips, Arley scowled, he looked away with a displeased look in the other direction. She really did not want to be touched by the woman in front of her.
"Keep that disgusting face of yours away from me! You should look in the mirror and see how horrible your face is. What a shameless woman!" Arley snorted harshly. Another bodyguard did not like what Arley had said and squeezed the man's shirt collar hard.
"Watch your language! Who do you think you're talking to?" he snapped. Arley was even more enraged, he clasped his fingers tightly, wanting to throw a fist at the bodyguard if he were free.
"Enough! There is no need for emotion. None of you can touch her except me. Take her to the infirmary. Remember, no violence, unless she persists." the woman ordered, as Arley was quickly led away from her presence. Feeling it useless to resist, the man simply followed where the bodyguard led him.
"An interesting man. The moment I saw him I felt an unusual vibration. It's like I really fell in love with him. Arley, I will make you completely fall into my arms." the woman smirked. She then stepped away to the special treatment room for herself.
Every woman who saw Arley would have many reasons to admire him. A well-proportioned body shape, a near-perfect face with all the beauty in it, it was just that the man was unlucky in the economic factor.
He was one of the laborers on the cattle farm owned by the woman he was going to marry. He and many other laborers take care of the rich woman's thousands of dairy cows to produce good quality milk.
But Arley's life is about to change, from laborer to boss, even though it's not what the man wants, in fact he opposes everything. He was unwilling to make himself a slave to the woman's love, a woman whose full name was Elle Clarissa Haque.
Elle is a woman who cannot be rejected by any man. In addition to her beauty which is quite famous to several corners, she is also rich. It's just that, her nature is obsessed with handsome men and easily bored with partners, making her given the title as a male explorer woman.
***
Just a few moments ago...
Arley was surprised when two of her employer's bodyguards suddenly ambushed her and took her into a car. She had no idea where she was being taken. Why so suddenly and without reason? That was a question she could not express.
"Why are you taking me suddenly? What did I do wrong?" Arley tried to ask nicely to the two bodyguards accompanying her during the trip. But the two bodyguards were as silent as statues and did not give her any answers.
"Please answer me. Why are you silent?!" Arley stared at the two of them in turn. What was going on? The man was truly in a quandary.
"Sir has nothing to fear, we will not harm you." said one of the large bodyguards beside him.
Sir? What did they mean? How the laborer seemed to be called master by them, this was really strange. Something was fishy and Arley had to know what it was.
"Why are you suddenly calling me sir? That's strange." Arley looked at the two of them again, hoping they could answer his question.
"Since Mr. Arley will soon marry Lady Elle, automatically, Mr. Arley will become our master." The information from one of the bodyguards naturally surprised him. Him? Marrying Elle? How could that be possible. He had never been involved in any relationship or scandal with that woman except for a boss and employee relationship.
"You guys must be wrong. I'm already married, how could I marry Mrs. Elle?" Arley persisted in convincing them. He would indeed not marry Elle, never.
Arley had a wife who he thought was beautiful and kind. Her name was Clara Annetta, they had only been married for a year and had no children yet. All on purpose, because of his job as a laborer. Although the salary was decent, Clara's lifestyle was quite difficult to keep up with. That's why his wife always said, "Let's not have children yet, we'll have them when you become a billionaire."
Although Arley didn't like what she said, he always tried to understand because he loved Clara so much.
"We can't be wrong. The data we read is a man named Arley Hudson Rayn, age twenty-seven, occupation laborer, married status and it is you. No more dodging." One of the bodyguards gave a brief and clear account, and all the data did belong to Arley.
But what was the matter? Why did he have to marry Elle? And what about Clara?
Arley thought the rumors he had heard all along were just hearsay. Rumors about Elle obsessing over good-looking men in order to possess them. He wondered, of all the workers, why did it have to be him? Arley was not the only good-looking man in his group.
"I will not marry her. I will not cuckold my wife. Put me down quickly!" Arley tried to pull away. She would not allow herself to become the object of the woman's wild fantasies.
"No way, this is an order. Mr. Arley must prepare for the Master's wedding ceremony tomorrow. Don't let us be rude!" The bodyguard tried to threaten him. Hah! This was crazy. How could a woman go as far as kidnapping him just because she wanted him to marry her. How lowly that woman was! Even though she clearly knew, Arley was already married.
"I'm not willing to marry a crazy woman like her. She easily forced me to marry her, even though she knew I was already married." she snorted in annoyance. Arley really couldn't get over Elle's mindset. From this moment on, she no longer respected Elle as her superior.
A woman hurried to meet Elle. Judging from the way she was dressed, the woman was none other than Young Mistress Elle's housekeeper.
"Madam, there is a woman claiming to be named Clara who wishes to see you." said the woman as she looked at Elle respectfully.
"Then bring her here, Auntie. Before that, do you know who Clara is?" asked Elle as she read the fashion magazine in her hand. The name Clara sounded familiar to her.
"As far as I know, Clara is the wife of one of Madam's farm laborers." the woman explained.
"I see, send her in, in case she needs help." Elle ordered her assistant.
"Yes ma'am." The woman quickly left Elle's presence and a few moments later she returned with the woman who called herself Clara.
"Leave us alone, Auntie."
"Yes, ma'am." Elle's household assistant quickly left leaving Clara alone with her Mistress.
Elle invited Clara to sit down. Although she was quite powerful and had the wealth of a queen, Elle was not an arrogant person. She was always friendly and caring to those around her.
"So, what is your purpose in coming to see me, tell me, don't be shy." Elle encouraged Clara to speak up as she realized the woman in front of her looked very shy.
Compared to Elle, Clara was clearly younger than her, perhaps a few years apart in age. For a laborer's wife, Clara's appearance was not that bad.
Although not from branded clothes, Clara looked fashionable in the clothes that were now attached to her body. Plus her fair skin added to the impression that she came from a wealthy family.
"I want you to be my husband's second wife, Madam." Clara's statement made Elle laugh.
In the last three years after her seventh marriage failed again, Elle chose to be alone and enjoy life without a companion. Today a woman suddenly came and asked her to be her husband's second wife, which was ridiculous.
"Aren't you wrong? Coming here to ask me to be your husband's second wife, that's pretty ridiculous." Elle couldn't help but smile, but she tried to appear appreciative of the woman's visit to her home.
"I've often heard rumors that Madame is very fond of handsome men. My husband is quite handsome and you must like him, I can guarantee that, Madame." Clara tried to convince Elle to give in to her unreasonable wishes.
"Actually, what is your purpose? You wouldn't offer your husband to me for free, would you? So what do you want?" Elle quickly cut short their conversation, she wanted to know the point of her conversation with the woman in front of her.
"It turns out you're quite sensitive. I'm not going to share my husband for free. I want a dowry that I'm sure Madame can afford. "Clara flashed her smile, a smile that looked sly and mysterious.
Elle took a sip of the red-colored water in her glass, then got up from her seat after placing the magazine she had been reading on the sofa where she was sitting.
"Can I see his picture?" Elle was curious as to what the man's face looked like, so the woman in front of her felt confident that he could attract someone like her.
"Sure. One moment." Clara took the cell phone in her small bag, she quickly searched for her husband's photo in the gallery, "This is my husband, ma'am." Clara showed a photo of a handsome, clean-skinned man with a sweet smile. He was wearing a light blue shirt.
Elle took Clara's phone and looked closely at the photo. He was quite charming, not fit to be a laborer. She had to double-check what Clara's husband did for a living.
"What does your husband do?" she asked later.
"My husband works as a cattle farmer on Madame's farm." Clara answered firmly, without any fear.
"What is your husband's name?" she asked again.
"Arley, ma'am. My husband is young, twenty-seven years old and has no children." Clara clarified the identity that Elle might need.
"How much dowry do you want? Do you know the risks of taking your husband as my husband?" Elle immediately asked Clara what she wanted, as she was interested in Arley.
The man had really caught Elle's attention after she had been unable to find a replacement for her seventh husband.
"I have already written it down. I also understand what risks I am taking by giving up my husband to become Madam's husband. In fact, if I have to divorce him I don't mind a bit." Clara's statement made Elle smile strangely. The woman could not understand why Arley's wife seemed to be selling her husband.
"Why are you willing to give up your husband just for a nominal sum? Is he not in your heart?" Elle might be asking something personal, but she really wanted to know.
"He is no longer important, ma'am. I married Arley all this time just because I wanted to feel victorious in competition with his first girlfriend. Furthermore, I don't feel happy being married to her, which is why I don't want to carry Arley's child. Uh, I'm sorry, I'm telling Madam this personal thing." Clara showed no guilt at all. She seemed to be telling Elle everything on purpose
"This is your cell phone. How much dowry do you want, try to show me. One more thing, if you no longer want Arley, divorce him on the same day he marries me. How about it?" The woman immediately picked up her cell phone.
Elle's offer made Clara's heart leap with joy. To let Arley go, it was not a problem for Clara, because the amount stated in the check was quite large. Enough for her to live in luxury.
"This is the dowry I want." Clara presented a check that made Elle widen her eyes. It wasn't that it was too expensive, she just wondered why a man as good as Arley was valued that low.
Elle recalled Arley's face that she had seen on Clara's cell phone, the man was like a diamond in a pile of coral. The rich woman would not hesitate to dig deep into her pockets just so she could have him.
"Okay, you've also given me your account number here. I will transfer the money immediately. After that, your husband is officially mine." Elle folded the check, put it on the table and sat back down.
"Of course, ma'am. I'll take my leave then, thank you for your time." Clara stepped away after receiving an affirmative nod from Elle.
The woman quickly walked out through the side door to meet her subordinates.
"Grey, Jho, Ben, you guys hurry to the farm. Bring home a laborer named Arley, he's my future husband. I will send you the data later. Remember, don't hurt him at all." she ordered the three men who were joining Elle's dozens of other men.
"Yes, ma'am." the three of them replied in unison and immediately carried out their employer's orders.
'I will take good care of you handsome man, I even want to carry your seed. I think I'm really in love with you, even though I've only seen you in pictures.' Elle thought, making her lips curl into a smile that was hard to interpret.
Elle and Arley were in the room reserved for their makeup. The man could not move, there was tight security there, as well as throughout Elle's residence.
There was not the slightest chance for him to escape. At the very least, Arley had to have a reason why he should marry that woman. He had to meet Clara first. He wanted to make sure, was what Elle said the truth?
"Elle, before marrying you, can I meet Clara now?" Arley asked Elle, his new wife-to-be who was now in makeup beside him.
The woman gave the makeup artist the code to stop what she was doing for a moment. She looked at Arley with a questioning gaze, why didn't the man beside her trust him? Could it be that he wanted to see Clara to suspect her? Those questions were popping up in Elle's mind.
"Of course. I'll ask my bodyguard to summon her for you." Elle responded to Arley's wish with a smile, even though it was sincere, but Arley hated it. He disliked a smile that she had used to seduce men before him.
"She's here?" asked Arley again, confirming.
"He wanted our wedding the most, of course he's here to watch you marry me." Elle replied so calmly. She was telling it like it was, which was why she wasn't nervous at all.
"I don't believe you. How could he have wanted this marriage. You, you want it the most. I know that." Arley whispered. Their close proximity allowed her to do so.
"Jho, please call Clara into this room!" ordered Elle to one of the guards standing beside her.
"Yes, ma'am."The well-built man called Jho immediately went out to fetch Clara. Moments later, the woman walked into the room with the bodyguard.
"What did Madame call me for?" she asked once she was around Arley and Elle.
"Arley wants to talk to you, so please talk to each other, but do not leave this room." Elle gave Arley a chance to talk to his soon-to-be ex-wife.
Arley stood up, approaching Clara who seemed to be fine. The woman looked happy, there was no sadness on her face, making the man wonder, was everything Elle said the truth?
"Is there something you want to ask?" Clara crossed her arms over her chest, as if to show Arley she did not care about what happened.
"You know all this? Why would you tell me to marry someone else, when you are my wife, the one I love. Don't you love me too, Clara?" she said trying to be calm, even though Arley's chest was rumbling.
He wanted so badly to curse at the woman before him, but his love for her was greater than his irritation at the moment. His eyes reddened, looking at Clara intently, he needed more than just an explanation.
"Stop talking about love, you're so naive Arley. All this time, you thought I loved you? I married you just because I wanted to win you, not because of love. Today, I want you to sign this, there is nothing between us after this." Clara handed over the piece of paper she had prepared, it was no ordinary paper, but a divorce agreement.
Arley's hands shook, not only because Clara's words hurt his heart, but also because he felt like a trophy in rotation. Everyone was busy playing with his feelings.
"You really sold me? You really traded me for money?" Arley had figured it out, but he still wanted to make everything he knew clear. Even though it broke her heart even more. She could not believe that someone she loved would do this to her.
"Yes, I did that. I'd rather live a life of wealth than a life of hardship with you. Now, quickly sign the papers and marry him. Aren't we mutually beneficial? You will be the master from today, your new wife is also very rich and beautiful. Although I threw you away, but isn't this also a good opportunity for you?" Arley could no longer bear to hear the painful words coming out of Clara's mouth, she quickly signed her divorce papers and handed them to the woman who smiled slyly at her.
"Go away. I hope I don't see you again." Arley turned to the place where she was being made up.Her heart broken, she no longer cared who she married.
Wasn't that the same thing? He was just a pawn played by women. They could put him anywhere they wanted. After all, he had been bought by Elle, whether he wanted to or not, he had to stay by her side.
The wedding ceremony went smoothly. Everything went according to Elle's wishes. Unlike her previous weddings, this time, she made a big party, making all her bodyguards swept away in joy.
The only unhappy person there was Arley. Although her opportunity to escape was wide open, she did not do that. There was nothing else to fight for. He was just a poor man who had nothing but the small house he shared with Clara. Of course he wasn't going back there.
Elle followed, carrying two red wine glasses in her hand and handed one to Arley, the man did not refuse.
Arley, who had deliberately stayed away from the crowd, just stared at those who were enjoying the party. Elle also did the same.
"I know, you don't want this marriage. I also know, you married me only because you knew, Clara had traded you for a sum of money. That's not the case with me. I'm marrying you because I really like you, I want you to be the last one in my life." As usual, Elle said everything calmly, like a typical high-class lady. There was no falseness in her words, she had indeed fallen in love since she first saw the man in the photo shown by Clara.
"You think I believe your words? All you women are just playing with me. This face of mine is probably a curse, I was thinking, it might be better if I ruined it." Arley was cold, she gulped down the wine in her hand in one gulp, as if she was swallowing all the bitterness she was feeling right now.
"I cannot prove anything right now, but I can assure you, over time you will understand. I am not forcing you to accept me either, but one thing, you are mine, I have the right to do what I want and you have no right to refuse." Elle stroked Arley's face by placing a long, red-painted nail on her finger. She could feel the softness of the skin on the man's face, the man who was just staring at her regardless of her actions. Arley's cold demeanor made Elle fall in love with him even more.
