MOON STONE PACK
"Welcome to the era where humans and werewolves coexist without the fear of who is the predator or prey. And werewolves can choose their mates."
Meagan heaved a sigh as she looked around the decorated pack ballroom that was packed, leaving a smallish opening for a dance floor at one end near the DJ stand. The room was filled with humans and mostly werewolves in different colors and styles of costumes.
"The ballroom will be fully packed tonight. Why? The moon celebration week plus the Beta's wedding! I am so excited!" Brianna, the lady who Meagan just met had rattled on about how many people would be present at the event tonight.
At first Meagan had thought Brianna had exaggerated about how many guests would be in attendance tonight but she was right. Everywhere Meagan stepped had people standing close by that she had to push her way through.
The festival was going fine and it had already started because they arrived late. The music was loud, the tables laden with plenty food, the booze free flowing and everyone seemed to be having a good time.
Meagan's eyes couldn't trace where her best friend and Brianna stood, but they had absorbed into the crowd to their friends. Well, they are used to this lifestyle and people around here since she was the only who isn't a member of the pack between them.
A server pressed a mixed drink into Meagan's hand and she sipped it while her eyes was still surveying the creativity of costumes in the room. The atmosphere spells - Halloween under the deem lighting and colored lights flickered around the room.
Every individual blended into a chit-chat and laughters in groups but Meagan seemed to be the only one standing without partner. Her present job was telling the type of costume on each person, she could recognize them all. Starting from Harlequin, joker, Dracula, fairy godmother, Bartholomew the scientist, Dragon King Darius, witches, vampires, pirates and other memorable icons in the shadowy room.
Meagan adjusted her mask as a lady dressed in a Korean style queen mother passed by her with a smile on her face. She frowned at an alligator flirting with a peacock but soon found herself chuckling at the combination. Alligator and a proud peacock. Meagan swallowed a bit of the liquid before lowering her glass.
"Mom would have loved this place...maybe I should have invited them all especially Collins who likes the spirit of Halloween, Penelope who would love to see a man dressed in a vampire outfit or Benjamin who is eager to get married. This is the best place and everyone would love to be here." Meagan mumbled to no one in particular.
"Your family would have loved to be here?" A masculine voice said behind her.
Immediately Meagan turned surprised that someone had heard her mumbling to herself amidst the commotion and loud music. Her gaze locked with a tall handsome man, his hair packed in a bun style, his wrestlers shoulders were part of his muscular physique and his well chiseled chest was bare only a double crossed whip on him. He had a dark bristly mustache, dressed in a khaki pant and black leather boots with detachable whips dangling from the belt on both sides.
Meagan recognized his outfit. "Warlord Baron?" Meagan said.
He walked majestically towards her. "Yes ma'am." He smiled revealing his white teeth and a deep dent on both sides of his cheeks.
Meagan's breath caught as she took in more of his features. His crescent moon eyebrows were thin and narrow, Irish eyes that looked soft and dangerous at the same time and a defined cheekbone. He was tall, a lot taller than her even on heels. He had a charisma that would make any woman enticed by him. He was charismatic perfect and the aura of authority hovered around him.
His domineering attitude wasn't just from the costume he had in but seen from the way he stood, looking straight into her eyes without breaking the eye contact even as she tried to step backward a bit.

EPISODE ONE
Theme: Dinner on Sunday
CLEVELAND HOSPITAL
Doctor Meagan was taking a short break at the hospital cafeteria late Friday afternoon after attending to several patients. She dropped her spoon to pick up her cellphone and skimmed through her messages on WhatsApp.
There are several messages from known groups but just one message caught her eyes.
"Hi Meagan, how are you doing? I have great news to share with you! So call me whenever you are less busy!" Her best friend, Hazel had texted two days ago.
Meagan Swift is a busy woman, who has made her job her first priority in life and she rarely has time for social media. To Meagan Swift, saving lives matters and it comes first before anything else.
Meagan knew Hazel, her best friend of over fifteen years would be so mad at her right now for not replying her text messages.
"I should call her back before she threatens to rip off my head." Meagan mumbled.
She scrolled to her contacts to call Hazel. "Hello Meagan," a familiar masculine voice said.
Meagan looked up and found Ethan smiling at her. "Can I join you?" Ethan asked, standing right there with a tray filled with food in his hand.
"Ethan-"
"Can I join you please?" He repeated.
"Sure, please join me...Ethan." Meagan stuttered.
Ethan Roberts is also a medical doctor at the popular Cleveland hospital. Aside the fact that Cleveland hospital belongs to Ethan's family, he is one of the best doctors. Rumors have it that he got to be the director of the hospital at a young age because he is the first son. But it wasn't true.
Ethan truly deserved the position. Ethan Roberts graduated as one of the best medical students in Northwestern University which is the best school of medicine in the United state of America. Meagan met Ethan first year in medical school. He was two years ahead of her. She had accidentally bumped into him on her way out of the cafeteria. Ethan apologized for not paying attention on the road ahead as he tapped away on his cellphone. The shy and nerdy Ethan Roberts had asked for her number and also asked to be friends with her. And Meagan couldn't turn him down because he had asked politely, he didn't look like a bad boy plus she knew who he was on campus.
"The genius Ethan Roberts." She had heard girls whispering about him and how much he loved to help junior students study and who are willing to learn.
Meagan felt it wasn't a bad idea to have a senior like him help her out with studying in college. And she never regretted her decision to be friends with him. Ethan is a cool guy! Any woman could find herself melting at his charming smile and the sound of his voice. Ethan really helped Meagan in school and she grew so comfortable around him.
They became so close to the point that students gossiped about them having an affair. But in the real sense, Ethan has never made any advances towards Meagan. Although over the years, Ethan grew fond of Meagan and he realized that he is in love with her. But Ethan feared that confessing his feelings to Meagan would ruin the close bond and friendship. And it was obvious that Meagan doesn't have any feelings for Ethan.
"So what are you doing this weekend?" Ethan asked as he munched on his potatoes.
Meagan looked up from her cellphone. "This weekend?" She repeated.
"Yeah..I am off work on Sunday. And I am sure it is your day off too." Ethan said. He had taken out time to check the hospital's roaster for the weekend to be sure that Meagan was off work. And there won't be any chance for her to make excuses.
"Yeah...it is a day off for me." Meagan took a hasty swallow on the glass of water as she read another message from her best friend.
"Call me right now!" Hazel texted adding an angry emoji after the last word.
"Perfect timing-" Ethan studied her beautiful face as she focused on her cellphone.
Meagan wasn't paying attention to him anymore. "Meagan-" he called.
"Huh?" Meagan head snapped up to look at him.
"Oh! You were saying something about -" she paused trying to remember his last few words to her.
"Dinner on Sunday." Ethan filled her in.
"Oh! Yeah Dinner..." her phone vibrated, another message from Hazel.
"I am ripping off your head from your body when next we meet again!" And this time she added a sword-like emoji.
"What are you looking at on your phone?" Ethan asked.
"I just got a message from my best friend." Meagan stood up from the chair.
"I need to call her right now." She said.
"And what about the dinner on Sunday?" Ethan asked.
"I don't have any plans yet for the weekend except for work on Saturday but I am free on Sunday. So I will give you a call if I can make it." Meagan rushed out her words.
Her cellphone beeped. "Okay I will-" she rushed off before Ethan could say his next words.
******************
Meagan stepped into her office and picked Hazel's call on the second ring.
"Meagan, how dare you treat me this way?! I have been nothing but good to you over the years! So why do you tend to forget me and even worst you toss me aside like a piece of trash!" Hazel screamed over the phone almost deafening Meagan's ear drum.
"Hazel-"
"What do you have to say this time?!" Meagan put the phone away from her ear as she settled in the swivel chair in the office.
She clicked on the screen to turn on the speaker. Her best friend has been a drama queen since they were little girls.
"What excuse do you want to give to me this time around?!" Hazel asked with annoyance still clear in her tone.
"I am sorry...Hazel. I got -"
Hazel interrupted her. "...busy with work and I didn't have all the time to access my phone." Hazel completed Meagan's intended statement.

EPISODE TWO
Theme: She is getting married
CLEVELAND HOSPITAL
Hazel completed Megan's intended statement. "It is always the same words over and over again." She added.
"Hazel, you have every right to be pissed at me for not texting or checking on you. I am really sorry." Meagan apologized.
Hazel heaved a sigh. "And don't even dare promise to make things up to me this time." She sounded angry.
"I love you, Hazel." Meagan said.
Seconds clicked by in silence followed by a giggling sound from the other end. "Gotcha!" Hazel said.
She has done it again. The drama queen has just put up another show of feigned annoyance making it look like she was really mad at Meagan.
"Oh..Hazel..." Meagan heaved a sigh of relief. "Is my head safe now?" She asked.
"Of course! It's good to know that my threats always work on my best friend. You poor little thing." Hazel giggled.
"You scared me Hazel, you almost blocked my eardrums with your first few words." Meagan couldn't help but laugh.
"Ouch...sorry best friend. So how are you doing?" Hazel asked.
"I am doing fine. What about you?" Meagan asked as she toyed with the ball point pen on her table.
"I am super duper excited!" Hazel replied with excitement in her tone.
"Something good must have happened to your wolf, Hazel. So fill me in." Meagan said.
"Guess what?" Hazel said in a low tone now.
Meagan had to roll her eyes. "Come on Hazel, you know how bad I am in guessing game."
"Yeah you are terrible at guessing but you still need to give it a try this time. Let me help you a bit...so what's my greatest dream as a werewolf?" Hazel demanded.
Meagan didn't have to think too much. "Finding your mate and getting married to him." She answered.
"You never disappoint in things that concerns me!" Hazel exclaimed happily.
"Wait..you have good news to share with me and -" Meagan paused trying to think and soon realization hit her. "Oh my God..." she stopped.
"Go on girl...." Hazel cheered.
"Julius asked you to marry him?!" Meagan gasped out.
"Yes!" Hazel's response was sharp and immediate.
Meagan stood up from the chair abruptly and they both screamed out at the same time. Meagan totally forgot that she was still at her work place.
"Julius proposed to me two days ago! I tried to reach out to share the good news to you first but you went..MIA." Hazel said, tears pulling in her eyes.
"I am so happy for you, Hazel. Finally you can work down the aisle with the man you love." Meagan said with a happy smile on her face.
"I didn't know I would end up with a Beta of a powerful pack." Hazel laughed.
"You have always wanted your mate to be someone powerful." Meagan reminded her.
"An alpha is the most powerful in our world." Hazel corrected.
"Yeah I know the ranks all thanks to you. But I am very sure you got the best man in your pack." Meagan laughed.
"Well wait until you meet the alpha of Moon Stone pack." Hazel said in a tight whisper.
"I can hear you, my love." A baritone voice said over the phone. It was Julius, Hazel's husband to be.
Julius is the Beta of the most powerful werewolf pack in America. He is the second in command in Moon Stone pack.
"Come on, I was only kidding. I owe my loyalty to the alpha but I love you more." Hazel giggled.
"Hi Meagan," Julius said over the phone.
"Hello Julius, good to hear from you." She wasn't that familiar with Julius unlike the other men Hazel had dated in the past.
She has only met Julius once and that was when he visited the state with Hazel just to bring a gift to Meagan on her birthday. And that was two years ago. Meagan haven't seen her best friend for over a year now. They only keep in touch on phone.
Meagan is always the busy one although Hazel also has a role to fulfill at the pack's infirmary as a physician.
"Wedding bells!" Hazel laughed.
"You already fixed a date?" Meagan asked.
"Yes our wedding is in two weeks." Julius replied.
"Wow! I wasn't expecting it to be this soon." Meagan admitted.
"I can't wait to walk down the aisle with you baby." Hazel kissed her mate.
"We are just trying to cut down expenses. The moon celebration is coming up so it is wise to have the wedding the same week." Julius explained.
"Oh that's understandable. I mean expenses will be on the pack." Meagan replied.
"We are the lucky couples. The alpha is offering to sponsor our wedding because he wants to make his Beta happy." Hazel added excitedly.
"That's not the case. It is a tradition in our pack for high ranking officials." Julius countered.
"Then I guess I am the luckiest bride." Hazel said and they all laughed.
"Congratulations to you again, best friend." Meagan sat back on the swivel chair moving it slowly in a circular motion.
"Pack up your bags because you have to come to our pack and perform your duties as the chief's bridesmaid." Hazel announced.
"What?! You want me to be your chief bridesmaid?!" Meagan asked in a surprised tone.
Hazel was confused. "Why do you sound so surprised?" She asked.
"I am just wondering why you pick me to be your chief's bridesmaid? I mean we -" Hazel cut her off.
"You are my best friend Meagan! Look I understand that you are busy but I don't have anyone to fill in that spot for me." No words came from Meagan.
She thought Hazel would have fixed in someone better from the pack. She had been the one making all sorts of excuses over the year each time Hazel tried to set up a meeting. She had declined every ladies hangouts and missed get together organized by those she recognized as friends.
Ever since the fall apart in her first relationship, Meagan had shut herself out from the world. All she did was bury herself in work. Meagan is the type of the person who hates making mistakes but she made one three years ago. Every part of her regretted it. Her inexperience had caused her great damage. It had broke and destroyed every part of her existence. And Meagan had vowed to never make such a mistake again. And to achieve it she had stayed away from having another relationship or getting involved and close with a man.
"You won't turn me down right?" Hazel said in a tight whisper. She was scared of her best friend's rejection. "You can't miss my wedding, Meagan." Hazel mumbled.
"I am sorry..Hazel for-" Hazel interrupted her best friend.
"No Meagan listen..I understand that you have been through a lot these past few years. And I hope that some day you come out of that shell of loneliness. But I need you to be here with me. I can't do this without you, Meagan." Hazel's voice pleaded almost at the verge of tears.
"I guess you are lucky after all. I filed in for a two weeks leave at work just to go for my yearly vacation. So I will make it to your wedding." Meagan said after some minutes of silence.
Hazel couldn't believe that Meagan just said yes. "She won't miss my wedding!" Hazel cried out. Meagan and Julius laughed.
"Stop being such a cry baby." Meagan said.
"My chief's bridesmaid! You scared me Meagan, I thought you were going to turn me down." Hazel wiped her tears.
"What if I had turned you down?" Meagan asked.
"Well with my mate's influence, I can have ten big wolves travel down to your state to abduct you to our pack. And you will never leave this place again." Hazel said in a serious tone.
"Seriously? You will have me abducted!" Meagan laughed.
"Thank goodness you said yes!" Hazel screamed in excitement.
"I can never miss your wedding." Meagan said.
"Thank you, Meagan." Hazel blew kisses over the phone.
"Anything for you." The timer on her table beeped.
"Your break is over right?" Hazel asked.
Meagan hummed a positive response as she stood up and grabbed the medical jacket.
"Alright. Make sure you give me a call to fill me in about the preparations." She added.
"Okay, I'll send a chart to you and beep you later at night." Hazel replied.
"Bye." Meagan disconnected the call.
