Alpha's Temporary Bride

Author: : Bosy Elselhdar 3
Genre: Werewolf
Caroline ran away on the night of the official Mating ceremony following a misunderstanding with her soon-to-be mate, Alpha Maximus, leaving him in a bad situation. In order to avoid damaging his reputation, Alpha Maximus hastily hired a temporary bride: Lillian, who was willing to sell herself. However, he never asked why she accepted his offer for money. He married her and for years took her body and soul, fulfilling his desires in bed, until his ex-fiancée, Caroline, returned to take everything. We were riding in a limo. He was going to his father-in-law's funeral, but he seemed strangely glad about the passing. He held me close, placing me on his lap, and embraced me with a forceful, intense kiss, as if he never wanted it to stop. Feeling uncomfortable, I pulled away and gave him a strange look. He smirked in a disturbing and lustful way, then slid his hands between my legs while whispering in my ear, "I'm going to leave a mark on you right here and now."

Chapter 1 1

Lillian's heart skipped a beat as she read the message that appeared on her phone screen. It was a bold and daring proposition from the woman who had once captured Alpha Maximus's heart, the woman who had left their lives four years ago. But Lillian was no ordinary woman, and she reveled in the challenge that lay before her.

A sly smile formed on Lillian's lips as she made her way to the bedroom where Alpha Maximus stood, his commanding presence filling the room. Her steps were confident, her eyes brimming with a mischievous spark. She approached him with a mixture of determination and allure, her voice laced with intrigue as she asked, "Alpha Maximus, shall I call her and inform her of our unique connection?"

With a dismissive wave of his hand, Alpha Maximus responded, his voice tinged with arrogance, "There's no need for that, my dear. I've already set the wheels in motion. The divorce papers are being prepared as we speak." Lillian pretended to mourn their impending separation, her eyes welling up with false tears, but her mind was already racing with possibilities.

As Lillian turned to leave, Alpha Maximus's grip tightened, pulling her into an embrace that sent shivers down her spine. Their lips met in a passionate kiss, igniting a fire that burned between them. Lillian's mind wandered to the woman who had sent the provocative message, but she knew deep down that her place by Alpha Maximus's side was not so easily relinquished.

Breaking away from the embrace, Lillian playfully suggested, her voice dripping with seduction, "Perhaps we should exercise caution, my love. After all, our reunion may stir up envy in the heart of the woman we once held dear." Alpha Maximus, fixated on Lillian's enchanting presence, dismissed her concerns with a possessive kiss, their desires intertwining in a dance of longing and lust.

Lillian gracefully excused herself, claiming the need for a refreshing bath. As she closed the door to the bathroom, a mischievous glint sparkled in her eyes. She knew the power she held over Alpha Maximus, the game they played of desire and pursuit. And she reveled in every moment of it.

Four years ago, Caroline, the woman Alpha Maximus had loved, had vanished due to a misunderstanding, leaving their wedding in shambles. In her absence, Lillian had stepped into the role of Alpha Maximus's wife, a role she played with finesse despite the whispers and accusations from the outside world. The truth hidden beneath layers of deception was known only to their families, a secret that fueled their unconventional bond.

Lillian's thoughts drifted to that fateful day when Caroline had disappeared, leaving behind a void that she, with her striking resemblance, had been destined to fill. While the world saw her as a mere substitute, Lillian knew that her allure extended far beyond her appearance. She had become the embodiment of Alpha Maximus's desires, a woman who captivated him on more than just a superficial level.

Emerging from her bath, Lillian's mind buzzed with plans and strategies, her creativity fueling her ambition. She dressed meticulously, adorning herself with an air of confidence and allure. As she descended the stairs, her steps were purposeful, her smile radiant.

Approaching Alpha Maximus, who was still engrossed in his dinner, Lillian leaned in and placed a tender kiss on his cheek. With a playful glint in her eyes, she teased, "My dear Alpha Maximus, did you forget to invite me to this sumptuous feast?"

He responded, his voice filled with tenderness, "I couldn't bear to disturb your peaceful slumber, my love. You looked so serene in your sleep."

Lillian kissed his cheek again, her voice sweet as honey, as she called out to the kitchen, "Emma, I'm famished. Please bring me something delightful."

Emma, a warm and jovial presence, emerged from the kitchen, bearing a tray filled with Lillian's favorite dishes. Her eyes twinkled with affection as she placed the food before Lillian, who praised her with genuine gratitude.

As Lillian savored the flavors, Alpha Maximus wiped his mouth and spoke, his voice filled with affection, "Lillian, my mother is alone at our residence. Would you be so kind as to keep her company? My father is away on business, and I'm sure she would appreciate your presence."

A smile played on Lillian's lips as she responded, her voice laced with warmth, "Of course, my love. I shall go to her immediately."

As Alpha Maximus prepared to leave, Lillian rose to her feet, her eyes locked with his. She pointed to her cheek, a playful twinkle in her gaze, and whispered, "Before you depart, my dear Alpha Maximus, how about a goodnight kiss?"

He approached her, his lips brushing against her cheek ina gentle caress. "Sleep well, my love," he murmured before bidding her farewell.

Chapter 2 2

After Alpha Maximus went to work the next day, Lillian hopped in her car and drove to the Terence residence, where she was greeted by the butler, Peter. He said, "Welcome back, Ms. Lillian. Mrs. Terence has been talking a lot about you."

Lillian got out of the car and replied with a smile, "How is she doing? I miss her food a lot after being away for a month. That's why I rushed back here."

Peter chuckled. "She's doing fine. However, Alpha Terence and Alpha Alpha Maximus are so busy with work that she feels bored alone."

"Well, she won't be now that I'm here."

Lillian strutted into the house in her high heels.

The Terence residence was located halfway up a hill. It was a big villa. However, the Terence family was quite small. Eva had a son, Alpha Maximus, and a daughter, Stephanie. Eva, due to her wealthy lifestyle and amazing skincare routine, looked much younger than her actual age, sixty.

Amongst the Terences, only Stephanie had a prejudice against Lillian. Alpha Maximus's parents treated her extremely well, especially Eva, who treated her like her own daughter. Even until now, Stephanie was still unaware that the marriage between Lillian and her brother was just a contract marriage.

The person whom Lillian would miss the most after her divorce was probably Eva.

Eva was not as arrogant as other wealthy women. Instead, she was very easy-going and modest. It was enjoyable to talk with her.

"Mom!" said Lillian sweetly to the lady on the couch, who had done up her makeup nicely.

Eva smiled warmly when she saw her. "You're back? Come take a seat next to me."

Lillian walked over and sat down next to her. Eva examined her carefully before saying, "Have you lost weight?"

"I've been starving because I didn't get to eat the food you cooked."

Pleased by her words, Eva said, "I'll whip up some delicious food for you later so that you can gain back the weight you've lost."

"You're the best, Mom!" said Lillian affectionately, like a loving daughter.

"Why are you acting like a child despite being so old? Don't you find it disgusting?" An annoying voice interrupted. Lillian didn't even need to look up to know who it was.

"Steph, how could you be so rude? Lillian is your sister-in-law! You should greet her when you see her!" scolded Eva, furrowing her brow.

Stephanie snorted coldly and snapped, "I don't care! She's just a woman who married Alpha Maximus for his money."

Eva's face fell. "Not another word or you'll feel my wrath."

Stephanie sat down and remained silent.

Not angry at all, Lillian smiled and asked, "Steph, I heard from Alpha Maximus that you went to Pillere for a trip. When did you come back?"

With Eva there, Stephanie had no choice but to reluctantly reply, "The day before yesterday." After speaking, her face lit up as if remembering something happy. She asked excitedly, "Lillian, do you know who I bumped into in Pillere?"

Lillian started to feel cautious, for Stephanie was often up to no good when she spoke in that tone.

"Your friend?" she asked cautiously.

"I met Caroline. You know her, right?" asked Stephanie excitedly. "No, you probably don't know her. She's Alpha Maximus's-"

"Steph, what nonsense are you talking about?" Eva interrupted, giving her a glare.

Chapter 3 3

Stephanie rolled her eyes and grumbled, "Mom, I'm heading out for a bit. Someone here is really stinky!" Without a care in the world, she sauntered outside.

Eva sighed. "Don't pay her any mind, Lillian. We've spoiled her too much."

With a smile, Lillian replied, "She's just playful at her age, Eva. It's expected for her to blurt out whatever's on her mind."

Eva patted her hand, feeling more affectionate towards Lillian. "Lillian, you're a good girl. Don't let Stephanie's words bother you. And let's just pretend Caroline doesn't exist."

Lillian didn't dare to ask who Caroline was.

"We're a family, Mom. I won't let her words affect me," Lillian assured her. Though deep down, she knew their family wouldn't last much longer.

"I've always known you're a good girl," Eva praised, liking Lillian even more.

Lillian spent the entire afternoon chatting with Eva. After lunch, Eva grew tired and took a nap. Meanwhile, Lillian went for a walk outside with Stephanie following her.

"Don't think you can stay the daughter-in-law to the Terences forever just because my mom likes you. My brother still loves Caroline deeply. You should give up," Stephanie mocked.

Lillian stared at her politely and smiled. "Steph, I don't know who Caroline is, but I'm your brother's wife. As long as we're still married, I'm your sister-in-law. So please show some respect."

Stephanie gave her a scornful look. "Sister-in-law? I'm sure you won't be for much longer. Only my mom is kind enough to treat you, a woman with nothing, like a daughter-in-law."

After a short pause, Stephanie continued, "Stop pretending to be Cinderella and dreaming of marrying into a wealthy family. Just divorce my brother as soon as possible. You might get some compensation instead of leaving with nothing."

Lillian smiled sweetly. "Thanks for the reminder. I was planning on divorcing your brother, but I've changed my mind." With that, she turned around and walked away.

"You..." Stephanie seethed with anger. "You better not regret it."

"Don't worry. I won't," Lillian replied, not even looking back at her. As she entered the house, she couldn't help but feel a pang of pain in her heart. It was like someone was squeezing it tightly.

She embraced a stuffed toy on the bed and sniffed it, finding some comfort in it.

Lillian quickly made a phone call. When it connected, she put on a cheerful voice and said, "Darling, I miss you!"

Alpha Maximus paused before responding, "Stop fooling around! I'm in a meeting right now. Let's meet at our usual spot at nine tonight."

Lillian stared at her phone in a daze as Alpha Maximus hung up.

Even after four years of marriage, they never truly shared their feelings with each other. Alpha Maximus only saw her as a materialistic woman who loved money.

Lillian spent the whole day at the Terence residence. After having dinner with Eva, she drove back to her apartment with Alpha Maximus in the city center.

Back at the apartment, she placed her bag down and carefully chose her outfit for their date tonight. The usual meeting place that Alpha Maximus mentioned was a fancy five-star hotel they frequented.

Even though she knew Alpha Maximus didn't love her, she didn't want to show him her vulnerable side.

Lillian arrived at the hotel right on time at nine o'clock. As she opened the door to the presidential suite, someone forcefully pressed her against the wall. Pinned between the wall and a broad chest, she recognized his scent and chuckled.

"Alpha Terence, aren't you going to ask me if I upset Mom during my visit?"

Alpha Maximus glanced at her and replied emotionlessly, "Mom likes you. She called me earlier and told me to be nice to you."

"Really? Then why do you always bully me?" Lillian playfully retorted.
