Chapter 1 Brutal Betrayal

EVELYN'S POV.

"I'll make you Luna right after your birthday, I promise." Sebastian's words echoed in my mind while I twirled before the mirror, glancing down at the pink romper he had gotten for me as a birthday gift two days ago when we last met in secret, just like we always did.

Sebastian and I had been lovers for about four years now; although there had been a status difference between us, it had still not mattered much between us, and I knew for a fact we were to be announced as mates as soon as possible.

It was my eighteenth birthday. I waited so long for this. All through the years I pushed forward, it was finally the night of the full moon when I'd have to shift for the first time through the years.

Joy filled my heart as a smile lit up on my face. I took one last glance before walking out of the room.

"Happy birthday, Evelyn." People greeted me while I walked past them. My mind was filled with pure joy as I hoped for the night to pass through and the morning to settle in.

I caught Sebastian in the corner of my eye. Of course, he was the alpha and had gotten quite a lot of traits that his father had gotten, and it was safe to say he was the most handsome wolf in the pack, with his ginger-coloured hair, blue orbs, square-chin pointed nose, dimples, and the manner in which he carried himself with an air of arrogance.

I already pictured myself right next to him, beaming with smiles. We were going to make the perfect couple, I knew, so he approached me slowly, and my heart raced in my chest as he finally stood by my side.

"Happy birthday, my love. Are you ready, the moon is almost up? '' he added in, and I cast my gaze onto the moon, which had already risen and was close to its peak.

"Yeah, yes, I am Sebastian," I responded, chirping happily and muffling a giggle. My longtime dreams were just about to come true.

"Everyone is here to see you glow in the spotlight. I didn't come with gifts, but I'll bear greater ones for you tomorrow." He reassured me, his tone hoarse and sultry as his lips brushed past my earlobes faintly, sending shivers down my spine.

I nodded, enjoying the warmth as it reeled into me, sending Tingle's down my spine.

He walked past me, but not before passing me a wink and giving me the most flirtatious look I had ever seen. My cheeks flushed red from embarrassment while I pulled away from him, enjoying the happiness that came along with it.

"Evelyn dear... It is time." Mother Seraphine had called out to me; she had been the one who trained how to tame our wolves and keep up with being the other half to... And finally, it was time I graduated from her class and became a true wolf of my own. With every pair of eyes in the pack ground pinned against mine, with each step I took, my heart thudded in my chest. I knew the truth was by far going to hurt, but then, I had only a little bit of time left to cuddle up the entire thing.

I stepped into the light down below the moon as it reached its peak, radiating all of its glory while it bloomed up to my heart. I was prepared more than I closed my eyes trying to connect with it. I felt a presence in me, just as Mother seraphine had taught.

I tried as hard as I could to have it pushed first. Trying to shift, I felt the breeze pass me. My bones weren't breaking like they were meant to, and my body wasn't on fire like it should be. I didn't seem to feel anything else taking control of me.

Low murmurs erupted amongst the crowd. I tried again and again, to no avail. The low murmurs had erupted into loud talks now, with everyone giving their opinion.

"I can't! It's not working!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, filled with rage. My eyes landed against those of Sebastian. I saw plain disgust in his eyes. I irritated him, I was sure.

He pulled away slowly and walked right towards my side, joy filling my heart I felt more encouraged realising that he wasn't embarrassed of me, my mate stood by my side, by all means he was prepared to fill me with happiness... seeing that a few seconds ago I was scared that I may have embarrassed him ans there he was now standing tall by my side. Was he really going to claim me as his mate now of all times.

"Now that I've gone beyond attention, I believe we have seen enough for tonight... We can't blame Evelyn not everyone is born special." His words had grazed through my heart. I was pained hearing his opinion; bitterness engulfed me. I didn't understand what he was aiming at, and neither did the crowd.

"But there is always joy in chaos, good things in bad times, so as the Alpha but to the pack, I'm using this moment to declare that I have chosen a Luna to the pack. Marie Hayes, Nathan Hayes child, the beta of this pack will be my Mate and Luna!" Sebastian explained, his eyes pinned against mine, my soul shattered in my body, and tears off my eyes.

Sebastian had betrayed me.

He lied to me; all along I had been a pawn in the games. A grim crawled up to the aides' cheeks while I balled my trying to get sick in pain that reeked in me. I tucked to my feet's walking as fast as I could. Down to the woods, where I could get my solace as my heart ripped with each step I took.

I had been in love, like a fool, I believed everything he said and did, but love screwed me over. My own mate, my lover had betrayed me.

Chapter 2 Banished

EVELYN's POV.

Rage engulfed me as I stormed through his main doors. The pack guards blocked me off, but I was quick to shove my way past them, they didn't bother chasing me for some reason but I picked up my pace not wanting to risk my chances, my heart still thudding hard in my chest while tears streaked from the corner of my eyes.

Pain seeped continuously into me. I wasn't sure whatever it was that he had been up to, but I knew better than to let myself get fooled into believing anything it was that he had been keen on.

"Sebastian!" I yelled At the top of my voice, I called out his name as soon as I hit his chambers, but no response came.! I was pretty agitated! I made my way deeper into the floors, certain that he really was in, and chose not to speak with me on purpose.

"Sebastian!" I yelled again, and finally the tapping of feet drew closer to me while a frown settled on his face.

"What's with the screams? Why will you not stop being a nuisance!?" He asked with heavy sarcasm and laced it to his words while he yawned; he really had not bothered about me.

I could see the morning look on his face ruffled hair, Swollen nose and cheeks, he really did have a good night rest

While I remained in bed, tossing from one to another, he was probably sweating it all off but happily sleeping, doing whatever it was that possibly came to his mind.

"You lied to me! You betrayed me. I gave you my heart, and you toyed with it. Everything you asked for, I have given to you. But why?" I asked still trailing off at the ends of my words, more tears streaking off from the corner of my eyes onto my cheeks?

"What do you want?" He asked if his indifference shattered me even more. I wasn't sure I could feel whatever drama it was about to cause.

"Betrayed you?" He asked with a scoff and grinned wickedly before closing in between us.

"Let's get it straight into this head of yours. You were weak from the start, and I had hoped you could be of use, but to my greatest disappointment, you turned out to be nothing. How do you intend that i sebastian? Alpha to the pack would end up with the likes of you as a mate and Luna?"

I had not been prepared to hear his words; the more he spoke, the more it broke me. Cold, sweet bricks bricked down my temples, and my heart squeezed right in my chest. I sucked in air continuously to control the pain I felt.

More tears slid down my cheeks, and I could barely hold them in anymore.

"Is it too early to go about embarrassing yourself?" A meek and cold voice called out Behind me, I saw the mischievous glint in her eyes as well as the grin strapped to her lips as she approached. She probably had the best time of her life.

"How long have you both... How long have you both been together?''I asked half-heartedly, wanting to stand my ground, but the pain seeped in way worse than I could imagine.

I could see Marie; she had her arms rubbing on her belly.

"We've been together from the beginning, Evelyn. Sebastian loves me, and nothing is going to change that," she added, dragging out a slow hiss before passing a knowing glance to Sebastian, who wrapped his arms around her waist. Both of them hurt me with their actions, seemingly on purpose."

"Since the beginning?" I asked stuff ringing and breaking down in my words, fighting so hard to hold my tears back to no avail; it was wrecking Me apart, breaking me off. just how? Why?.

"I'm sorry, love," he added in again, sarcasm laced to the ends of his words while I stared blankly at him.

"Besides, I'm pregnant. We are expecting a baby soon; the heir to the throne. I have him growing inside of me," Marie said, leaning in closer to me, with our faces just inches apart. I gritted my teeth and balled my fists.

"She was pregnant. She was going to take away my happiness. I felt anger swirling within me, and my wolf grew more restless. In the blink of an eye, she drew closer, still wearing that dreadful grin on her lips."

I pushed my arms towards her reflex, pushing her off the stairs. The anger within me was satisfied as I watched her tumble over each flight of stairs.

"marie!" Sebastian was quick to yell as he darted hastily towards their side.

"I'm very sorry...... I'm really sorry; it was a mistake." I pleaded! my lips quivering, although I knew I had satisfied my most carnal desires.

"Are you okay, Marie?" Sebastian asked, pinning his gaze onto that of Marie so much that it pissed me off seeing how worked up he truly was about.

"She got what she deserved!" I snapped back, and a growl escaped his throat.

He didn't seem pleased by hearing those words of mine he stood to his feet and snarled at me, baring his canines harshly with a hiss.

"I, Sebastian, alpha of the Greenville Pack, hereby reject you, Evelyn Wen, as my mate!" He spoke curtly, his gaze boring into mine, and all I saw was disgust and annoyance.

"Sebastian, wait. You can't just..." He gave Me a stone-cold glare.

I Sebastian Alpha of the Greenville Pack, I hereby banish you, Evelyn Reeve, from this pack, never to set foot here again. I am cutting ties with you as a mate and your alpha. You must accept this as I impose this law upon you!" He snapped back as the pain of rejection seeped even deeper within me.

"Sebastian please... Don't end this for us." I pleaded, breaking down while I fell on my knees.

"Don't you get it? I never loved you, Evelyn; there had never been us! And I hate you. What are you waiting for? Get out! And leave this pack this instant!"

Chapter 3 Awful Discovery

EVELYN POV.

My heart raced in my chest with each step I took. Bitterness engulfed me, hatred seeped into me, and a cold chill ran down my spine.

I pushed forward; my feet were worn out and sore, as my knees trembled running around all day was beginning to take its toll on me

I had been running in the woods all along; from the very moment Sebastian had banished me, the heavy downpour of rain followed not long after, dropping onto my skin like harsh pebbles.

But then I stopped to a halt, glanced ahead while I sighted it, the lands of humans; this was my only chance,

My only shot at life , I dared not make a fool of myself anymore.

It was eating me up, tearing me apart. I knew so well that was the only choice I had left; no alpha would take me in, as far as I had banished away from Sebastian's pack, I was no better than a rogue.

And pushing Marie off the stairs only made things worse for me. Sebastian was going to come for Me and have me killed,

Slowly I pushed forward, with each step I took the boundary became visible, the boundsry between my world, the werewolves and that of humans

I pushed further, swallowing hard. It was time I placed my past in my past and moved towards a chance at a future I needed to get myself to safety first.

I took my last step of faith Crossing over to the human world, my heart still raced in my chest. I was different; I wasn't human, a freak, and I certainly would stand out. I stopped to a half, frozen in place, while I heard continued laughter and chit-chatting

I wasn't sure what to do, but I moved in sync with where the sound came from. I could see two men with tents and cigarettes against their lips, looked like they were probably camping.

"Are you okay, mam?" a third man asked while he made his way out of the tent, leaving me scared.

"I said nothing but watched as he approached me slowly. He held his arms against my temples while my teeth clenched together.

"Please come with me; you need some rest. He pulled my arm, but I wouldn't budge.

"Young miss, I do not know where you are coming from or how you have cuts and bruises all over. Besides cut the whinning, come on in, and I'll help you." He reassured me As so did they, I took slow yet cautious steps after him, and soon my knees gave in. Worry wrecked my nerves, and I swallowed hard.

My breat while I felt my senses go numb. A heavy migraine attacked me, and my knees gave in as my throat ran dry, with a loud thud I crashed falling with my head against the ground, before I finally slipped out of consciousness.

*******

"Awake now?" The soothing voice came again while I pushed up my body from the soft mattress, which provided me with some warmth, which I wanted.

"I'm sorry, but... I mean... not really." I cracked up the more I spoke. I couldn't help melting under his gaze, which remained pinned on mine.

"Where am I?" I asked, parting my lips slowly while he pushed closer to me.

"New York City," he responded, and then it dawned on me that it was no longer a pigment of my imagination; I really was in it. Lands of humans.

"What were you doing out there? All alone in the woods? I'm worried. Are you sure you are good, my lady?" He asked again. I tried pushing up a faint smile on my lips, but more tears streaked out of my eyes, falling without control. My heart ached thinking about my past while I dreaded what my future was meant to be.

"Talk to me... what's wrong!" He urged me on.

"I don't remember," I lied, averting my gaze from him.

"You don't remember everything? Why are you here? How did you get into the woods? Nothing?" The worry was evident in his tone, and I nodded slowly.

"This is terrible; we have to tell them to call someone; you could be a missing person for all I know." He muttered and stood to his feet. I reached my arms for him, pulling him back towards me.

"I'm sorry, but I'll leave. Don't call anyone." I pleaded, my eyes still lingering on him. He swallowed hard, and tension filled the air between us.

"Okay, you can stay with me until you are fully healed; do you at least remember your name? Anything?" he asked,

The vague images flashed through my mind. The tears, sweats, and cries coursed through my mind, the pain aching at my heart terribly becoming way too much for me to handle.

"Evelyn!" I snapped, yelling at the top of my lungs, while I could hear Sebastian's words play over and over in a loop in my head.

I gritted my teeth and curled up my knees to my chest, rocking myself back and forth while I squinted my eyes.

"Evelyn.. Is everything okay?" He asked again, but I muttered inaudible gibberish. My voice cracked at intervals while more tears streaked off my face. Causing me to panic unnecessarily

"Miss Evelyn, are you sure you are fine? If this were about the cops, I promise I would not be calling anyone," he reassured me while I raised my eyes to meet with him.

He sat beside me. He wrapped me in a hug; his huge and broad chest was like a pillow while he wrapped his arms around my body.

"I'm sorry life had been unfair to you; I wonder what had really happened, but you shouldn't be doing this; you might harm the baby." He broke off, and I tensed up. A loud noise rang through my ear while I turned to face him.

"The baby?" I asked, uncertain if I had heard the right words.

"Yes, Miss Evelyn, you are heavily pregnant, three months gone... You are with a child.
