Flora walked out of the hospital sadly, she stopped a cab and as the cab drove her to a nearby hospial that her younger brother was, tears streamed down her cheek.

She had just carried on an act of surrogacy for a man she had no idea about. She gazed at the bag containing money in her hand and her heart ached terribly.

Life had really been unfair to her. She used to live a happy life with her mum, dad and younger brother until her mother died.

Her father brought in another woman to the house three days after Flora's mum death. Apparently, he had been engaging in the act of infidelity and had been keeping this woman outside of marriage for a long time.

Juniata who happened to be the new woman that her father married treated Flora and her brother cruelly that they had to flee from home.

Flora had been living alone with her younger brother since then. She goes to school but still works for the rest of the day, saturdays and sundays included. She just wanted her younger brother to live the most comfortable life.

But things got even worst when her younger brother, Tony was diagnosed to have a hole in the heart last week. She felt like her world was crumbling. She had no one that could help.

Her father was wealthy but the hatred that subsists between her and her father would never make her go to him to ask for help.

It was during her strugge to find the money to pay for the surgical operation of her younger brother that she got an offer from a female teacher at her school who knew about her predicament.

The offer was for her to carry on the act of surrogacy for a wealthy man but she will never get to know his identity.

"Hey, aren't you dropping here?" The cab man jerked her off her thought.

"Oh! I'm sorry." Flora looked out through the window of the car and saw that she was at the place where she was to drop.

She paid the cab man and highlighted, she walked in quickly with the bag of money in her hands.

When she found the doctor that was in charge of her brother, she said," I've been able to get the money."

"Great," the doctor directed her to where she was to pay.

After she had paid, the surgical operation was carried on the second day in the afternoon.

While the operation was going on in the operation room, she was roaming around the corridor and was hoping that the operation would go well.

Her brother was her only companion, she loved him dearly and prayed earnestly that his surgery would be successful.

Her heart wasn't at ease at all, today was a tuesday and she was supposed to be in school but she can't afford to leave her brother in the hospital alone on a sensitive day like this.

About an hour later, a doctor walked out of the theater room with a glove in both hands. Once Flora sighted him, he walked swiftly to him," sir, how is my brother?"

The doctor had a dull look on but Flora didn't want to be too quick to judge the state of her brother by the expression on the doctor's face.

"He's still alive but I'm sorry, the operation wasn't fully successful. The hole in his heart had widened up and we could only close up a few inches. Though the heart tissues will start growing around the mesh but it would not permanently seal the hole." The doctor said.

"So what did you advise, doctor?" Flora questioned.

"Another surgery, dear. I know it's expensive but if you want a permanent healing for your brother, I'll advise another surgery," the doctor said and after a few seconds, he walked away.

Flora stood still, dejetcted and hopeless. She watched as her brother got wheeled out of the operating room back to his ward.

She followed slowly, she had to painfully loose her virginity to surrogacy yesterday just to get the money for this surgery only for the surgery not to be fully successful.

After the nurses who wheeled Tony to his ward had left, Flora came in. Tony looked weak in the face but when he saw Flora , he spoke," big sister, you look so sad, is it because of me?"

Flora bite her lower lips painfully and couldn't say a word for another thirty seconds, she was worried that if she speak, tears would stream down her face.

She didn't want to cry before her brother, that would only hurt him even more.

Tony held her by her hand and looked to her face, "Flora, I'll be fine."

"I also believe that you will be fine," Flora finally spoke. At this moment, all that was in her head was how to get another money for her brother's surgery.

"Where did you get the money for my surgery?" Tony questioned. He knew that the money needed for the first surgery was very exorbitant and even if her sister works day and night for a year, it would be impossible for her to get such money.

How does she tell her that she lost her virginity to surrogacy just to get the money for his surgery.

"A kind man gave me," she lied.

Tony wondered whom this kind man was, he didn't want to bother his sister anymore so he kept quiet. He had just been operated on so he knew he needed rest, he soon fell asleep.

Flora caressed her forehead and kissed it, she dragged the stool she was sitting on to the wall and kept imagining in her head on how else to get the money for her brother's surgery.

She wanted her brother to be healed completely.

With her eyes shut and her head resting on the wall, she heard the sound of the door and her eyes fluttered opened immediately.

She was surprised and angry to see the person she hated to see most. She clenched her fist and gritted her teeth in anger, she spoke harshly," what did you want?"

This man standing before her was her father, Rudolph. He had abandoned her and her brother many years back and let them live like they had no father.

Flora didn't like this man at all, he brought in another woman just three days after the death of her mother. That's a dishonour to her mum.

"What did you want?" Flora asked, her voice was louder this time and she stood.

"I came here to talk to you," the man remained standing still.

"I don't want to listen to whatever you have to say, just leave," Flora said.

"Isn't your brother sick? And i was informed that he needed money for his second surgery, I came with the money," the man raised the bag he was carrying in his right hand.

Flora's face fell, it seemed as if God sent help her way but this person sent wasn't the right person, she hated this man with passion.

"You can pay it and leave," Flora's voice softened but disgusts was still clearly written all over her face.

"I can only pay you for it under one condition," Rudolph said.

"Which is?" Flora questioned sharply.

Rudolph took a step closer to the bed that Tony was and glanced at him, he sighed and said, "when you were young, I made an agreement with Mr. Jimmie, to betroth my first daughter to his first son. He informed me few days ago that the time has come for me to present my first daughter." He paused.

Flora didn't find any sense in what Rudolph was saying so he asked," what are you talking about?"

"I meant that you are to get married to Orville, Mr. Jimmie's son this month," his voice was stern and Flora laughed sinisterly

Her face turned into a serious one all of a sudden and she said," you think you are making sense? You abandoned me since I was fifteen-years-old then you are here all of a sudden trying to get me married to a stranger. Your words are trash."

"Trash! I'm your father, remember?" Rudolph asked.

"I don't have a father, don't be deceived." Her voice was a little loud , she was frustrated and angry but she had to caution so as not to awaken her brother.

Rudolph kept mute for a while and said," then I will leave with my money."

"What?" Flora exclaimed. "Are you so heartless? Where is your heart? You want to watch your son die?"

"My son? I'm no longer his father. If you want me to pay for your brother's health bill now, you must do what I want, and that is to get married to Orville," She said.

Everyone knew Orville had become impotent and had become a ridicule in the mouth of many ladies. Many ladies who used to fantasize about getting married to him suddenly stopped their fantasy after they got to know that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and as a result, he would not be able to impregenate any woman anymore.

Rudolph turned and began to walk out but Flora helpelssly called out," wait!" She had tears struggling to fall from her eyes but how could she cry before the man that had abandoned her and her brother for the past three years.

Rudolph turned back," I meant every single word I said. You agree to marry Rudolph and I pay for your brother's health bill."

"I hate you!" Flora said knowing that she will now have to agree to marry a stranger she had never met in person, worst, this man can not even impregenate a women. Also, getting married would definitely stop her from going to school.

"It's not a big deal, Flora. Orville is a good man," Rudolph said.

"Enough!" She shouted. She just didn't want to hear any word from this man. Not only was he disgusting, his words were disgusting to her. He added after few seconds," agreed."

"Good," Rudolph said," I'll take you to Orville's manor, he must informe me that you have signed his marriage document before I can pay for your brother's health bill."

"I have never seen a man so despicable as you, trust me," Flora said painfully.

Rudolph shrugged and asked," can we leave?"

Flora gazed at her brother pitifully, "I'm doing this for you, Tony." She mumbled underneath her breath and followed him outside.

Soon, Rudolph and Flora were both inside the car. Flora had seen Orville on magazine before and she knew that he was very young and handsome but her concern at this moment was his personal attributes.

Many blogs may go on and carry on news about him that he's a cool and nice man, what if he's not. Would she even like her? Seeing that she was young and might probably not be beauiful in his face.

She didn't know how Orville will accept her.

"Make sure you act well when you get to his house, did you understand?" Rudolph asked but she snubbed. She just didn't want to hear a word from the man she considers to be disgusting.

Although she did not respond, Rudolph know for surety that she heard him, he also knew that speaking to her further was needless as she wouldn't respond.

Finally, their car arrived at the most beautiful and most expensive villa in the country, Rudolph parked outside the villa cause the guards at the villa won't let him in.

He then placed a call across to Jimmie, Orville's father, once the man answered, he said," sir, I'm in front of Orville's house with my daughter but the guards won't let me in."

"He'll be with you soon," Jimmie said simply and hung up.

Rudolph opened the door to the car and stepped out, he went to lean by the other side of the car.

Flora opened the door and stepped out, she stood and asked," is he coming here?"

Rudolph turned to her and answered," Yes, be patient."

Flora wondered why the guards didn't let them in, it can only mean that the owner of this villa did not value Rudolph at all.

Soon, a selnder figure stepped out of the gate elegantly.

Flora was very nervous, she pressed her eyes on this handsome man who was dressed in a tailored suit that fits him perfectly.

Flora got to see his face clearly as he walked closer to them. Since she had seen him in the magazine severally , she knew that this man was Orville.

Gosh! There was never a way that this cold looking handsome man will ever like her, her nervousness increased.

"Orville, nice to see you in person again after many years," Rudolph said.

Orville glanced at him disgustingly and set his gaze on Flora, as their faces met, Flora lowered her head shyly but summoned courage to raise it up again. This was the man she would be in marriage with so why should she be shy before him?

Eventhough his aura was very domineering.

"Walk close to him," Rudolph shouted at Flora when he saw that she was only standing still. He thought that that was what Orville was waiting for.

"How dare you shout on her? Are you tired of living?" Orville's firm , masculine and sexy voice came through.

This was the first time that Flora would hear Orville speak and one thing that stood out in his voice was how obsessed he sounded. He didn't know her before , he had never seen her before but he was ready to kill her father for shouting on her.

"I...I'm so sorry, forgive my manners," Rudolph pleaded earnestly.

"Erm..." Rudolph tried to speak, he already had tears formed on his forehead. He was close to his father and although Rudolph was powerful too, he knew that Jimmie was not worthy of being dared by anyone in this country talkless of his son who was twice as rich as him and by far the richest man in the country.

"She's the one you will get married to, she's my first daughter," Rudolph was finally able to speak.

"I know, you may leave," Orville said and Rudolph nodded, he walked to the driver's seat and didn't take any more glance at either Orville or Flora, he drove away.

"Sweetheart, come with me," Orville's sweet voice came through making Flora surprised.

He had a cold and aloof look on just now and was harsh and daring when speaking to her father but at the moment, his expression had softened and he looked welcoming and even more adorable.

"Thank you," Flora said and wanted to take a step forward but Orville stretched his right hand and said," let me hold you and lead you in, princess."

Princess? He called her princess? Flora didn't even know whether to blush or all this was just to get married to her.

She agreed to let Orville hold her hand and she lead her gentlemanly inside the manor.

When they got inside, an old woman appeared, she looked old but walked smartly.

Hannah was a personal maid to Orville's mother for many years but because of how she was so good to Orville whenever his parents were absent , or went on a business tour and would be left with Hannah, he decided to employ Hannah to work for him in his house.

Hannah knows the kind of food that Orville likes since she had been cooking for him for many years.

"Is she the one?" Hannah asked, she had an elated look on.

"Yes, mama," Orville responded and Hannah ran to Flora.

"Welcome, miss. You look adorable. That is my room," Hanna pointed to a room that was at the far end by the left.

"When you are done with Orville, you can come to me so I can show you around and tell you other things you need to know." Hannah said with a sticky and attractive smile on her slightly wrinkled face.

"Thank you, ma," Flora responded and Hannah glanced at Orville adorably before walking away.

"Princess, please have your sit," Orville gestured and she sat on the couch gently.

Why was he respecting her this much? She was only eighteen and looking at him and from what she had read about him, he should be twenty six years this year.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience this caused you but the agreement for us to get married was made at an early age of our lives when we had no say," Orville said.

Flora found courage from nowhere and spoke," but you are a billionaire, right? I believe you can tell your father to cancel such agreement. I still need to go to school, I can't get married now."

Flora hoped that he would reason with she said.

"Although I'm twice as rich as my father, I dare not to disobey him, there is a reason behind that to which I will tell you in the future," Orville smiled and stood all of a sudden," my bad!" He exclaimed and walked away.

While Flora was wondering where he went to, he came back with a bottle of water in his hand and a glass cup, he poured the bottle of water into the glass cup and gave it to her.

Once Flora received it, Orville said as he sat elegantly," my father told me to always welcome a visitor with water first before engaging he or she in a conversation. Who knows...you might be thirsty."

Flora was forced to smile, this man is so polite, she thought and drank the water. She wasn't necessarily thirsty but the body always needs water.

Flora dropped the empty glass cup on the empty center table and said," thank you."

"My pleasure, princess." He smiled.

"As for your school, I don't see any reason why you should stop schooling just because we are married." Orville said.

That was so thoughtful of him, so he would allow her to keep going to school? Flora was so happy thinking about this.
