Alpha's Innocent Mate

BROOKLYN'S POV

Past few days I wake up and remember that it is next month, I will transform and meet my mate.

I'm always happy about me going to transform but whenever I remember I will meet my mate these same day am always discouraged because I hate mate powers and bond, I don't like it when someone have power over me and I don't like it when am being away from my parents. Last year my friend kelly mate took her to a very far place that we hardly hear from her they met when her mate came for a mission in our pack and I hope she is fine there. Because her mate is the warrior of their pack.

" Brooklyn get down here" my mum yelled from the kitchen.

"I'm coming momma"I rushed to the bathroom to brush my teeth..

My father is the second in command to the Alpha, so he hardly Stays at home,we don't really spend time together and I don't expect him to be home by this time, he would have gone to the pack house.....

Whenever we spend time together they always remember me of my birthday because they want me to meet my mate soon which am afraid of being rejected.

There are alot of people who have been rejected in the pack house because their mate is human or because their mate have a lover who they can't leave which leads to rejection and I know how miserable their life is.

Our pack is the strongest pack in California. It is THE WOOD PACK. I don't like going to the pack house because of the elders and the annoying pups too. The Alpha have two sons and a daughter which the daughter is my best friend

Marianne is a very nice girl and can be so dramatic sometimes too, she has met her mate and he is a friend to her brother who they live in the pack house together.

Her brother Declan is the next to become the Alpha after his father, he turned eighteen last year but he has not found his mate yet, I know they would have been disturbing him because he has to take over now, Alpha Derek is getting old already.

He took after his father with his killing look, he has a bright blue eyes with curvy brown hair and a very built and broad shoulder. He is a model, practically a Celebrity thatcall the girls in the school are tripping for him so much that they can do anything to even touch his shoe.....

" What are you still doing up there?" my mum yelled from downstairs

Oh shit! I almost forgot am going to school, I wore my black hoodie with a grey joggers, that is my favorite anyways, while searching the wardrobe I saw a gown my mum bought for me as my last birthday gift, a red straight and short gown with a low back and a net in front showing some part of boobs.. I groaned in frustration because I don't like the dress because it makes me uncomfortable but who am I to complain my mum will never take No for an answer....

I carried my black fancy bag with my earpiece and my phone and I rushed downstairs to meet my mum.

I rushed to her and hug her "Goodmorning Mrs Greene" she pecked me

"Good morning Ms. Greene" she said jokingly while setting the table, I helped her to carry cup and I sat at the side of the table,

"so Mrs Greene what are we eating today" I asked chaffingly

She paused! "Wait what is with the Mrs. Greene today" she narrowed her eyes

I turned to her and I grinned at her "well I refuse to answer" she chuckles and lean towards me and answer "well we are eating Bacon and egg grilled cheese Ms. Greene, which is your favorite meal. (She serves the food) and she whispers "enjoy" mockingly

I smiled at her after taking a bite and a thumb, "I shouted happily you are the best mum ever" she smiled

She sat on the chair in front of me while eating her food she looked up "next week is your birthday baby girl..."

"Arrghh! we are at it again"I said frustratingly

"Calm down......... baby girl you know what I mean by that, you can't run away forever

"

Yes right!!! I know I can't run away forever but these people need to stop talking about it am scared already, what if I get rejected? What if I don't find my mate? Oh! Hell Noooo

"Brooklyn Are you even listening to me???? "

She snapped me out of my thoughts

"I'm s-o-rry but you seriously need to stop reminding me of this thing I know already and there is no need to remind me"I said out of frustration......

"She walks up to me to seat beside me she says patting my shoulders "calm down baby, I just want the best for you and I want you to realize that you cannot run forever and when you feel like telling me anything just walk up to me darling I will always be there for you" she hugged me and went to do the dishes... I was left speechless but I feel like crying, I know she want the best for me but goddammit am scared of this am not ready for this sincerely..... I thought to myself.. I finally find a word

I went over to her, I throw her a big hug

"Thank you momma I love you " I sign

I gotta go to school now mum.. "Byeeeee"

I rushed out and she yelled from behind "make sure you come back early" I pretended not to hear because she knows Marianne and I have a part time job in a coffee shop but she has stopped after finding her mate because they spend most of the times together....

I waited outside my door for Marriane to come pick me up... She showed up early today

"Hop in babyyyy"she yelled

"You know it is too early for it right? "

"come on Brooke you know we need to enjoy the life while it last"

"but not in this way madam" I said mockingly

"Or maybe I'm not just boring madam Brooke"

"Oh I give up I know I can't win this I raised my hands in surrender"

I lock the car door and use my seat belt then we headed to school, but we were met with traffic jam but it isn't too much.. I noticed the car is silent and it is unusual, "what happened I furrowed and looked at her"

"How is your mate Kai, have not been seeing him"

"He went to visit his parent, you know they are in the neighboring town.. But I seriously miss him"

"Oh sorry baby... Is that why you are silent?"

"It's okay baby,you can't know the pain, next week you will understand what I'm going through "

"Do you guys really need to bring it up???"

"I frowned"

I can't believe my best friend is also in this team of reminding me about my mate.....

But I really feel bad for her... Is this how I will when I find my mate too

........ We got to school and we already met Christine Brown at the parking lot waiting for us. Christine is human and knows nothing about the werewolf shit. We greeted each other and we entered school together but something is unusual. The kids are whispering to each other but with the wolf hear I could comprehend what they are saying. Christine asked curiously "what is going on "

"I think there is a new guy in school but I don't know why they are whispering because of a new guy"I said nonchalantly and they both nodded then suddenly Christine jumped in front of us

"Holy Jesus!"Marriane and I shouted while holding our chest

"I think I know the reason"Christine said dramatically while demonstrating her hands

" Oh you scared us christine"

"For kids to be making a fuss because of a new guy, this means the guy is hot" Christine said but before we could answer her the bell rings

Then we waved goodbye to ourselves then we parted ways...

While going to my class I bumped into a hard-rock like chest and almost fell down but this person caught me in his arms, I feel electric sparks all over my body and his strawberry Saint caught me off guard that I did not want the person to leave, am I dreaming or what? as I looked up to see the Person, he has a bright blue eyes and a jet brown-curvy hair I was tensed when I noticed who the person is..............

WHO IS THIS HANDSOME GUY..... we will find out in the next chapter..............

BROOKLYN'S POV

I finally came to my right senses but it was hard to let go, I rubbed my eyes to have a clear vision so as to make sure that I wasn't daydream......

Oh my God it is Declan!!!! Marriane's brother, he is always cold because he is the next alpha. Kids are always running after him but he will always reject them he is not the serious type when it comes to education but he is always serious with life.He is the captain in their football team. Despite the fact that he is my best friend's brother we don't get along well because of his heartless behaviors.. I released myself from his arms. My cheeks are red and hot that they can boil water.....

"Hmm-mm I'm so-orry"I said shivering but he draws me closer with his arm that I can feel his breathe he lean toward me "be careful baby girl"he said in an husky voice which send shivers to my body and I tried to resist myself but I feel like kissing him right now.. But wait

Is he doing this on purpose.. I let go and stuttered "I'm so-oorry" I run to my class without even waiting for his reply I noticed people already gathered.. I was so embarrassed that I quickened my race.....

When I got to the class a text buzzed in from Marriane

"I saw what is trending in the school, is it true"

I shrugged and pretend like I didn't see it not long after a text buzzed in again

I checked to see who it is and it is still marriane

" What happened between you and my brother talk to me"I could imagine her grinning

"Will you allow me to concentrate"

"Okay Brooke, I know I can wait"

but I kind of like it I still can't stop thinking about the shivers his breathe sent to my body thinking about it even sent some sparks all over my body.....

while smiling sheepishly "Ms. Greene can you enlighten us more on this phrase? "The professor surely noticed I wasn't concentrating....

E-emm I stuttered until the professor asked me seat back. The class laughed at me

I could feel that someone's eyes are on me I looked up but saw nothing... I continued with my work few minutes passed and the bell rang. I carried my bag and headed out of the class to go to my next class... As I was going I noticed a strange step at my back, I looked at the back but was met with nothing... I faced where I was going earlier , I was two steps away from the stairs, then I noticed a shadow and footsteps from behind I thought to myself "what that could be" because I'm frightening right now I look to my right I saw an empty class, I paused terrified I noticed all my body is now and looked at the back but to my surprise nobody was at my back, I was relieved but I can't relax what if this person is playing some kind of stunt....I continued walking but i was scared

"Hey there"I screamed and I almost fell from the stairs but the person caught me.

"Whoa whoa whoa, did you fall on purpose so I can catch you"the person said with a very deep voice and I looked at the person then it is Declan again.

"Me?? Fall??? Because of you??? Excuse me I fell because you scared me you should be saying sorry right now" , I ignored whatever he has to say and continued to walk to my next class

"Is that the way to thank someone that saved you two times today? "he pulled me back to him that we were so close that I could feel his breathe which send some sparks to my body, I pulled myself away from him....

"What do you want? "I asked without even having an idea of what I said

"What I want?..... I want you....... "

"You want me???? "

... "Yes I want you to wait for me so we can go to class together"

I thought he wanted me... What the fuck am I thinking about that Declan want me? He already find his mate but nobody knows about it... So he can't want me......

"W-ee don-t have the same class" I stuttered

"Yes we have the same class, by the way why were you so scared back there? "

"I don't think It concerns you Declan"

"But you should share it with me because we are in the same pack.who knows I can be of help"he smirked..

"You can't, you'd rather worsen the situation so, I think what is best is stay out of my business and stop catching me when I want to fall"

"Oh okay dear! I will soon be your.........alpha and you will have no other choice than to obey to my order"then he entered the class

I paused..... "Alpha??? Order??? Is he really kidding me right now..." I scoffed

Immediately I entered the class, the professor also entered the class... I saw my friends and I almost forgot we all have this class together I went to seat beside them and I positioned my bag well so the lecturer won't see me because he likes asking too much questions

"Brooke what took you so long, we have been waiting "Christine whispers so the professor won't hear her

"I fi-nished class late".... I stuttered as I remembered who made me late. I looked at him in front and I feel like punching him

"Were you and Declan coming together because you entered immediately he entered

" marriane asked grinning

"N-ooo I did not even see him"

"Hey Brooke you are so loud, don't get us kicked out "

"You guys have to stop interrogating me if you don't want to get kicked out"

"Oh okay! We will wait for the right time, right marriane? "

"Yes baby am sure we can wait"

I scoffed and fake paying attention so I can stop getting interrogated on...

Few minutes passed and the lecturer left the class my friends and I left the class and we went to the cafeteria to eat...

As we got to the cafeteria I saw Declan and his friends at a corner, his eyes met with mine and he grinned at me, I took my eyes away from his immediately and I did not make any mistake of looking at his side till we finished eating and we left the cafeteria each one of us parted ways to their various classes and I won't lie, it was very boring and I was tired...

I had to take bus home because Marriane had to rush to the pack house immediately after school because her mate got back this afternoon and he is not in a very good shape because he was attacked by a rogue. She was really terrified... I got home and went to shower and get some sleep.......

Declan's POV

Sitting down on my bed with my black shirt on and my pant ash pant, I did not wait for school to be over because my best friend Kai was attacked by a rogue on his way to the packhouse, I was really angry because I will soon become the Alpha of the greatest pack THE WOODS PACK. I left it to my father to take care of it and I hope soon they will find the rogue and i swear to the goddess I won't spare him... I lay my back on my bed resting my head on a soft pillow and I shut my eyes then someone barged in..

"Where is Kai? ", "hope he is fine""he does not get hurt right? "

Oh shit! It is my sister, she rushed to me, she wouldn't even allow me to answer any question

"Calm down, why don't you go to pack hospital to go and check him, so you can see for yourself"

She left without saying anything else but She looked worried, I have nothing to say to her, she should check for herself because I also have a lot going on in my head right now..

I'm a little bit weak because I don't have a mate, I need my mate who is my second half to be strong before I can even become the alpha, my father is getting old already...

People in the pack think I haven't found my mate but I have, am just waiting for her to know too or the right time to tell her,the more I need her but I can't tell her because this isn't the right time for me to tell her..the more I see her the more I become hungry for her and my wolf is hungrier for her because he needs her most.... Sometimes he pushed me to do something for her to notice me but her inner wolf has not woken up.... Sometimes I become frustrated and sleep with some ladies in the packhouse, but I don't force them to do it, they deliberately leave their body to me because they are desperate to have me..

Sometimes my wolf will want to enter her mind to check if she is safe, but I don't want to barge into her privacy and I think I can't help it now..

" *Kai is awake, he wants to see you*"Harry who is our friend said through the mind link...

I rushed down to the pack clinic to meet him. I met the nurse in front of the room..she is a very old woman who has been our nurse for decades now, we are somehow close because she helped me when I was a pup, that we suffered an attack where a neighboring pack attacked us, in which her only son died I feel bad for her when she saw me she bow and she led me in.. As I entered I saw him laying helplessly, he is hurt badly...

Marriane sat beside him and held his hand, she is sobbing

" It will take time before he heals fully because the rogue claws mark his chest hardly," the nurse said..

"is three days not enough for a wolf to heal, at least he will heal himself?

"Marriane said from behind

"No, the poison is too much for him, with the look of it he wasn't attacked only one wolf because he was stabbed with a silver knife too" the nurse said...

I nodded as I look at Kai, he doesn't mention this...

"Can the two of you excuse us for a minute?" I said in a commanding tone, I didn't want to but I know Marriane won't leave her mate alone for just five minutes..

She glares at me and pecked Kai as she left with the nurse....

I rushed to Kai.... "How are you feeling now?"

"I-am fi-nne" he coughs as he struggles to talk

"Can you talk now or we should do this later"

"I will manage to talk am not a kid and by the way, It is very urgent Declan" he made a joke and changed expression immediately

I smiled he will not change, must he joke with everything

"Well, seeing you like this you look more like a kid" I said jokingly but looking at him not smiling doesn't he get the joke? I questioned myself...

"The rogues are after you Declan, I don't know why but... He leans to me and whispers I think they know who your mate is and they are after her.. They asked me about her whereabouts, I did not answer but when they threatened to kill my parents I had no other choice Declan... I'm really sorry..." Kai said

I stood up angrily, roaming around the room I banged the table that they can hear outside what I have been trying to hide all this while, they know with my mate they can't conquer me...

"This is nobody's fault Kai, I will figure it out"

"I think you should keep your eyes on her for now "

I spoke with Harry through the mind link

"Keep your eyes on her now!!!!! "I yelled

"Sorry, her who? "Harry said jokingly through the mind link

"Brooklyn of course, Harry this isn't the time for a joke" I said frustratedly

"Oh! Sorry, I wasn't part of the conversation you don't expect me to catch up like that Mr. Alpha"

"Oh! But I know you eavesdropped, go and do what I ask you to do now and report to me every minute"

I need to go meet my Dad now, I have to explain everything to him..

"Look am really sorry Dec"Kai said..

"Kai, rest well okay? Don't worry about the rest I will figure it out and I will make sure to deal with whoever made you like this..."

"Why are they looking for your mate Dec?" he asked furiously

"I have no idea Kai"i said as I walked out of the room..

My mind is filled up, that I ignored anybody who I passed by, I stepped on the wooden stairs so loud that it hurts their ears, I sped to my room, I banged the door to myself

"Hope something won't happen to our mate? "

My wolf said quietly

"Shut up! Nothing will happen to her Grey" I said angrily, Grey is the name of my wolf, I gave it to him, the first day he talked to me, it is usually when you turn fully and some people it is after a year before their wolf will talk to them......There is a witch at the prison in the basement, who has been hidden for the past 300 years, we go to meet her whenever we need her, she told me I'm the chosen one and I won't be able to accomplish some things without my mate because she is also a chosen one, is that why they are looking for her?? I need to act faster than these people....., how do I start without......, she does not even know I'm her mate..... Oh mother goddess helps me!!! I panicked
