Author: : Luna lake
Genre: Werewolf
The South Continent elite circle knew that Ethan Myers, esteemed and unapproachable, had a chosen mate from North Continent whom he hadn't even met. Rumor had it that she was the Alpha of Myers Wolfpack, Ethan Myers' grandfather Brandon Myers' arranged chosen mate. North Continent and South Continent were worlds apart in development. Hence, the young elites lamented and the socialites were envious: Myers Wolfpack's Future Alpha was actually paired with a country bumpkin from North Continent? It was simply squandering a rare opportunity! Moreover, everyone knew Ethan Myers was ruthless and aloof, untouched by the allure of many beautiful female werewolves. How could he possibly accept an arranged marriage, especially with a country bumpkin chosen mate? So, everyone eagerly awaited the arrival of this North Continent chosen mate in South Continent, only to see her rejected by Ethan and sent back to North Continent in disgrace. **** No one knew that Ethan Myers, the usually aloof and pristine future Alpha of the Myers Wolfpack, had been experiencing intensely passionate dreams with a woman every night for the past year. The woman in his dreams was soft and delicate, with an indescribably pleasant fragrance. Whenever she was beneath him, she would look up at him with tearful, cat-like eyes, almost crying yet not quite, making him break his usual restraint again and again. Each night, the dream's setting and his identity would change. Sometimes he was a general, and she was his lady. Other times he was a powerful warlord, and she was his concubine. Upon waking, his inner wolf would insist that this woman was his fated mate, destined to be with him through countless lifetimes. Unfortunately, he could never clearly see her face in his dreams, only catching her surname-Miss Roberts. He swore to find the woman who disturbed his dreams, for if he didn't, both he and his wolf would go mad. However, before he could find her, a car accident left him blind and crippled, unable to shift into his wolf form, and stripped of his right to lead the wolfpack. **** Juliana Roberts had a secret. For the past year, she had been entangled with a man in her dreams every night. At first, she thought it was just a phase, something to do with her hormonal cycle, and that it would pass in a few days. But the dreams persisted, night after night, and always with the same man. Fortunately, the man was handsome, well-built, and matched her tastes perfectly in every way. Juliana didn't mind; she even got used to it. After all, it was like having a boyfriend she could only meet in her dreams. Before Juliana' s grandfather died, he told her that she has a marriage agreement to the grandson of the Alpha of the Myers Wolfpack in South Continent. He urged her to flee to South Continent for protection; otherwise, her uncle and aunt would marry her off to a local tyrant in exchange for wealth and power. After a perilous journey, she arrived at the Myers Wolfpack, only to find that her fiancé was blind and disabled. Furthermore, he had lost his inheritance rights because he couldn't transform into his wolf. However, under her meticulous care, Ethan Myers' condition started to improve remarkably, leading them to suspect that they were not just chosen mates, but fated mates. Moreover, Ethan bore a striking resemblance to the man in her dreams, making their destined union even more enigmatic.

Chapter 1 The Country Bumpkin Chosen Mate

Werewolf Era Year 1980.

South Continent.

As dusk settled, a massive white cruise ship silently parted the sea, approaching the neon-lit, bustling Victoria Harbor. The cruise hall was awash in dazzling lights, the music pounding. Men and women, who donned suits in Central District during the day, shed their elegance, swaying, and entangling to the rhythm.

In a corner booth, Ethan Myers, dressed in a black suit, sat with his long legs crossed. His broad shoulders leaned slightly back against the sofa, his deep eyes showing no emotion as they fell on the lively crowd before him, akin to an emperor surveying the mortal world.

He was both noble and indifferent.

The host of the party, Samuel Perry, sat beside him with a wine glass, grinning, "Ethan, why not relax a bit?"

"See that girl in the middle? She's from West Continent, isn't she stunning?"

Ethan lifted his eyelids coolly and glanced at him, "Is this what you call discussing business? Any news on the person I asked you to find?"

Samuel swirled the wine in his glass, adopting a slightly more serious demeanor, "I've almost turned the entire South Continent upside down for you. This Miss Roberts, you could at least provide a photo. With just a name and approximate age, finding someone among over thirty million people in South Continent is like finding a needle in a haystack!"

Hearing no progress, Ethan rubbed his brow in frustration, the air around him growing heavy with tension.

"What's the deal with this Miss Roberts you're looking for? What's your connection?" Samuel asked curiously, leaning in to whisper.

Ethan, of course, couldn't reveal the real reason. No one knew that the usually aloof and highborn Future Alpha of Myers Wolfpack, Ethan Myers, had been entangled every night in his dreams with a woman for the past year.

The woman in his dreams had a soft, delicate body and an indescribable yet pleasant scent. Whenever she was beneath him, she would look at him with tearful eyes like a kitten, making pitiful noises. He, who had never been indulgent in desire, broke his restraint repeatedly for her.

Moreover, in his dreams, their roles and eras changed. Sometimes he was a general and she his lady, other times he was a warlord and she, his concubine.

Each morning, he woke, his wolf reiterated that this woman was his Fated mate from this life and past lives. Unfortunately, he could never clearly see her face in the dreams, only knowing her surname – Miss Roberts.

He vowed to find the woman who disturbed his dreams, because if he couldn't, both he and his wolf would go mad.

Unable to extract any details from Ethan, his friend didn't mind. He took a sip of red wine and turned to him with a gossipy look, "Alright, if you don't want to talk about Miss Roberts, can you at least tell me about your chosen mate from North Continent? It's all over the place that your grandfather arranged this chosen mate for you. Is it true?"

"Get lost." Ethan loosened his collar expressionlessly, never having patience for such matters.

Despite being cursed at, Samuel wasn't offended, instead, he laughed even more brightly, "Just verifying, why so serious?"

"I think you're asking for a beating," Ethan said lightly, standing up.

He wore the expensive black suit perfectly, his broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs forming a tall, straight figure. Coupled with a handsome yet cold face, sharp eyes, and a high nose, he had an incredibly striking bone structure.

Since stepping onto the cruise, he had attracted countless gazes, both overt and covert.

Ignoring the women holding wine glasses trying to approach him, Ethan walked briskly out of the hall.

Myers Wolfpack had started in the shipping business, now with enterprises in various industries, they were at the pinnacle of South Continent's elite circles.

Ethan was the most valued grandson of Myers Wolfpack's Alpha, Brandon Myers. Not only was he outstanding in appearance, but also capable and resourceful, holding significant power within the pack.

He was the most sought-after Future Alpha.

Just as many socialites and celebrities in South Continent were eager to win his favor, rumors suddenly spread that this young master of the elite had a chosen mate from North Continent, a match personally arranged by Brandon Myers in his early years.

In the 1980s, South Continent and North Continent were worlds apart in development. North Continent's economy was just starting, with most wolfpacks still relying on farming. Thus, a "chosen mate from North Continent" was seen as a country bumpkin in the eyes of the elite of South Continent. Many felt sorry for Ethan.

The pride of South Continent paired with a country bumpkin from rural North Continent? It was a sheer waste!

Chapter 2 She had transmigrated

At this moment, in a village far away in North Continent, the one being pitied slowly awoke.

"Creak-"

Juliana Roberts turned over, and the wooden bed creaked in response. She tossed and turned a few times, feeling a faint, lingering ache in her lower abdomen, as if something remained inside her. Her body felt limp, like it had been disassembled.

She habitually rubbed her lower abdomen and slowly woke up. Juliana had a secret: for the past year, she had been entangled with a man in her dreams every night. At first, she thought it was just her ovulation period, thinking it would pass after a few days.

But it happened every night and always with the same man. Fortunately, the man was handsome, well-built, and met all her aesthetic preferences. Plus, her wolf likes him. Juliana didn't resist; she even got used to it, treating it as if she had a boyfriend she could only see at night.

While she was reminiscing about last night's dream, a sudden noisy commotion filled the room.

"Lazy girl! Why are you still at home?!"

"Today is the day you're meeting William Cox. He's been waiting at the restaurant in town since early morning, and here you are, still lazing in bed!"

"I'm telling you, if this marriage falls through, you'll be marrying the village bachelor!"

The middle-aged woman speaking was Juliana's aunt, Kinsley. Speaking and moving, she approached to pull the blanket off Juliana.

Before her dirt-encrusted nails could touch the blanket, she was unexpectedly met with Juliana's stunning face, which looked as if she had just been tenderly loved by a man.

Her floral cotton shirt was slightly open at the collar, revealing a glimpse of her skin and a tantalizing curve that even a woman couldn't help but gulp at.

Kinsley felt a surge of jealousy: How does this girl, who's exposed to the elements and barely gets enough to eat, develop so well? Even her messy just-woke-up look is more attractive than others.

Not to mention that alluring demeanor, so captivating.

She really couldn't stand it.

"Smack-"

Lost in her envious thoughts, Kinsley was snapped back to reality when Juliana slapped her hand. Kinsley glared at her, outraged.

This girl actually dared to hit her?!

Juliana met her gaze fearlessly. "Kinsley, if you like William so much, why don't you let your daughter marry him?"

The moment she spoke, Juliana was taken aback by how... soft her voice sounded. The sharpness in her words was instantly diminished.

Before she could process this change, Kinsley, hands on her hips, glared at her with eyes that could kill.

"How dare you speak to me like that? Such ingratitude!"

"We're doing this for your own good, hoping you'll have a secure future. Look at yourself, what do you have to offer?"

"No family background, no education, and you look so indecent. Marrying into the Cox Wolfpack is a blessing you don't deserve. If you don't seize this opportunity, you'll regret it for the rest of your life!"

Despite Kinsley's seemingly well-meaning words, she knew the truth: William was short, ugly, and a notorious womanizer. Any weaker woman would be crushed under him.

Otherwise, would this marriage opportunity have fallen to Juliana?

Hearing Kinsley's words, Juliana calmly got out of bed and slipped on her cloth shoes.

"You're right. I'm ugly, poor, and uneducated. I'm not fit to marry, so why even bother?"

Her soft voice, however, pierced Kinsley's heart with every word.

Kinsley immediately exploded like a firecracker, her voice rising several octaves: "Who do you think you're talking to?!"

"You ungrateful wretch! Deserving of your fate, unable to find a mate!"

Despite the angry tirade, Juliana's expression didn't change. Kinsley stomped her foot, glared at her, and stormed out.

The room suddenly fell quiet.

Juliana then had time to reflect on her situation.

She had transmigrated.

From the year 2024 to 1980, into the body of a girl with the same name in a rural village of North Continent. They had the same appearance and build, but different souls.

The original Juliana's parents were deceased, and she lived with her sister and grandfather. Now, her grandfather was seriously ill, and her sister was weak and incompetent, so her uncles and aunts set their sights on Juliana.

The reason was simple: Juliana was stunningly beautiful.

Her body was curvaceous in all the right places. Her face looked like it had been sculpted to perfection, with alluring eyes. Her nose was petite and perky, her lips like peach blossoms in March, pink and moist.

Even the werewolf goddess wouldn't look better.

To the Roberts family which is a family belong to a very small wolfpack in the village, such beauty was meant to be a steppingstone to better their circumstances.

As fate would have it, William Cox, the Alpha's son from Cox Wolfpack, saw Juliana in the village and immediately became interested. Cox Wolfpack had some wealth and business ties with larger wolfpacks.

If Juliana married into the Cox Wolfpack, her cousins could also secure jobs. With her parents dead, her uncles and aunts had the final say on whom she married.

Thus, the meeting between Juliana and William was arranged.

Chapter 3 Two Secrets

First, she was entangled with a man in her dreams every night, and now she had transmigrated to the year 1980. Juliana felt like the world was a bit surreal.

But she didn't have time to dwell on it, as the original Juliana's grandfather, Henry Roberts, was gravely ill and on the verge of death. She needed to go and see him one last time.

Inside the room, Juliana's sister, Leilani Roberts, was sitting by the bedside, sobbing. The house had poor sound insulation, and it was clear that Henry Roberts and Leilani had heard Kinsley's earlier rant.

Seeing Juliana enter, Leilani's tears flowed even more. "I'm sorry, Juliana. It's all my fault for being so useless, for not being able to protect you..."

Henry, lying on the bed, began coughing, his cloudy eyes filled with sorrow for Juliana. He had some connections with the Cox Wolfpack and had seen William before. The thought of Juliana being paired with that short and ugly man was unbearable.

Moreover, the Cox Wolfpack had a history of mental illness and a notorious reputation for being violent and obsessive. Juliana could not marry into such a family.

"Juliana... cough, cough, cough..."

The thought of Juliana being targeted by William made Henry's blood boil, and he coughed violently.

Juliana knelt by the bed, tenderly helping Henry catch his breath with one hand while tightly holding his hand with the other. "Grandpa, don't worry. I won't go see William."

Juliana, having inherited the original's memories, also had no affection for William. The first time he saw her in the village, he tried to make advances. Ugly and lecherous, he was clearly not a good match.

Under Juliana's comforting, Henry gradually regained his breath. However, his breathing had become labored in recent days, and his time was running out.

Once he passed, the family members would undoubtedly resort to dirty tactics to force Juliana to marry into the Cox Wolfpack.

Certain things needed to be told to Juliana soon.

Henry turned to look at Leilani standing nearby. "Leilani, go to the kitchen and make some potatoes for lunch."

"Okay, Grandpa." Leilani wiped her tears and left the room with red eyes.

After she left, Henry looked at Juliana. "Juliana, I fear I don't have many days left. There are two things I need to tell you."

"First, you are the chosen mate of the future Alpha of the South Continent's Myers Wolfpack, Ethan Myers. The token of your engagement is sewn into my pillow. Take the token and go to the South Continent. Even if the Myers Wolfpack doesn't honor the marriage, they will provide you with a job."

In his early years, Henry had saved Brandon's life. Brandon was escaping the chaotic and impoverished North Continent to the developed South Continent, with most of his assets already transferred there.

Unexpectedly, an accident occurred on the way, and Henry saved him. With nothing else to repay him with, Brandon arranged an engagement between his grandson and Juliana, leaving behind a token and a photo of his three-year-old grandson, promising that Juliana could go to the South Continent to get married when she came of age.

Henry hadn't told Juliana about this engagement before because he didn't want her to marry far away, and their family backgrounds were vastly different.

But now, with the current circumstances, Henry would rather Juliana attempt to marry up than be ruined by the Cox Wolfpack.

Juliana was utterly stunned. She never expected to have an engagement, let alone a chosen mate in the South Continent. She looked at Henry in shock, momentarily at a loss for words.

"If you don't want to go to the South Continent, there's another option," Henry paused before continuing. "The Cox Wolfpack has a secret. In the southwest corner of the pond in their ancestral home, a box of gold bars that should have been handed over to the Lycan King is buried. You can report the Cox Wolfpack to the werewolf court, and they could be sentenced to ten or eight years."

Exerting his last bit of strength to say these words, Henry was nearing the end. His gaunt face still bore a look of concern for Juliana.

Juliana felt a pang of sorrow and gripped her grandfather's hand tightly. Finally, the last glimmer of light in his eyes faded, and he slowly closed them.

Juliana sensed something and began to cry, gently shaking the old man in bed. "Grandpa, wake up, Grandpa..."

Outside, Leilani dropped the cup she was holding with a clatter, splashing a few drops of hot water on her foot, causing her to yelp in pain.

Ignoring the burning sensation, she rushed into the room, crying as she threw herself beside Henry's bed. "Grandpa..."

With Henry's passing, besides Juliana and Leilani, the rest of the Roberts family breathed a sigh of relief. The old man had been bedridden, constantly needing money for medicine, and his sons and daughters-in-law had long been complaining.

Juliana was already 19, old enough to be considered for marriage and bring a dowry to the family. But the old man had been protecting her, not allowing anyone to interfere with her future.

Now, with the old man gone, the family members could truly take control.

The Roberts family wouldn't miss any opportunity to make money. Henry's funeral would be a chance for them to collect condolence money. The sons set up a makeshift mourning hall at the entrance of the old house, borrowing a large speaker from the village to play funeral music.

The daughters-in-law each set up a table, busy recording the money they received from mourners.

The younger members of the Roberts family gathered together, watching the commotion, showing no signs of grief.

Only Juliana and Leilani, dressed in mourning clothes, stayed by Henry's body.

As evening approached, with no more visitors coming to pay respects, the Roberts family members retired early. Naturally, the task of keeping vigil fell to Juliana and Leilani.

"Leilani, get up and sit for a while. I'll go make us some pasta."

They hadn't eaten all day, and Juliana wasn't one to neglect herself. She headed to the kitchen to cook something.

In the kitchen, Juliana opened the cabinet where they stored food, only to find it empty.

A cold smile spread across her face. Her grandfather's body wasn't even cold, and the Roberts family had already divided up the household assets, not even sparing the food supplies.

If they were dividing the family assets, Juliana and Leilani should have received a share of the farmland since they had contributed to the labor. Why had they received nothing?

Angrily, Juliana decided to confront her uncle's family. With her grandfather gone, her uncle had naturally taken over as head of the family, so she needed to speak with him.

Juliana reached Isaac Roberts' door and raised her hand to knock but paused when she heard murmured conversation inside. She instinctively lowered her hand and pressed her ear to the door.
