That day, Prince Nicholas started his day very early waking up only minutes after the sun rose.
Getting up from his bed, he pulled up the blind of his window and looked at the majestic view in front of him.
He took off his robes and grabbed a towel and threw it over his neck, heading to his workout space.
On getting there, he began his day by working out with the dumbells and doing pull-ups at the doorframe.
"Son, isn't it a little early for workouts?" King Aldrich said.
Prince Nicholas continued with the pullups, not stopping to look at his father.
"Nicholas!"
He finally dropped down from the door frame and dabbed his face with his towel.
He sat down on a wooden seat and was given bottled water by one of the maids. He opened it and gulped it down and poured the remaining content on his body.
"Must the routine be followed?" he asks.
King Aldrich sighed and then patted his white beard, "I am not growing any younger, my son."
"And I need you to prove to me that you are man enough to handle this kingdom."
"And where is this conversation leading to?"
"Take a shower and meet me in my chambers."
Prince Nicholas watched as the old man walked away, shaking his head as he muttered to himself.
He grabbed his towel and slowly glided to his room, ignoring the greetings of his subjects.
"My bath," he said.
"Yes, Your Highness," the maids replied.
He nodded and glided into his large bathing room, taking off his clothes and entering the warm and relaxing bath.
The maids entered after a while and began scrubbing his body and washing his hair.
After all that, he put on his robe and went to his wardrobe, and out on one of his remarkable brown chinos, a white button-up shirt and a black jacket, and a pair of leather dress shoes.
After having a breakfast of pancakes and orange juice, he headed over to his father's chamber.
"Alas, he came," King Aldrich exclaimed, getting up from his sofa as he took short strides toward the table.
"And why have I been called here?"
"Nicholas," his father began and nodded to Sir Arthur who unrolled a large synthetic paper.
On it was detailed plans of buildings, trees, and bushes.
"We need a suitable place for the soldiers to camp," King Narva stated.
Prince Nicholas stylishly dropped one of his arms by his side and the other bent slightly in front of him.
"And is there a suitable place found?"
"Kingdom Narva," King Aldrich said.
"But their ruler, a mere Princess rejected our offer of a hundred grand," Sir Arthur said.
"Is there a photo of this princess?" Prince Nicholas asked.
"Why yes, Prince Nicholas," Sir Arthur said, bringing out a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket.
Prince Nicholas stared at him for a while before he collected the paper, and looked at it.
"She's beautiful, isn't she?" Sir Arthur asks.

In the Kingdom of Narva,
Princess Evie fluttered her eyes open as the rays of the morning sun fell on her.
She rubbed her eyes and stretched out her limbs as she sat on the bed.
"Good morning, my Princess," Agnes, her maid greeted.
Agnes was at least in her late forties and had been a faithful maid to Princess Evie since she was a toddler.
"Hi, Agnes," she replied.
One of the maids, adjusted the board of her bed while they placed the tray of food on the board.
Princess Evie smiled, "what is today's special, it smells nice."
"Your favorite," Agnes said.
Princess Evie chuckled and then took off the lids of the bowls. She grinned when she saw a pile of pancakes, with honey on its top and lots of berries on them, beside it was an orange juice.
She leaned ber to her left and sprinkled her hands with water from the faucet beside her bed.
"I told you that this faucet would come in handy," she said to Agnes who chuckled.
She picked up a pancake and tore off a part of it, smearing it with the honey and putting a blueberry in the pancake's fold.
"Hmmm," she moaned, eating them and washing them down with the orange juice, "these are so good."
After her meal, she stayed in her ned, listening to the radio.
"And Lady Sasha told him that she was never going to let him have her child," the reporter on the radio said.
"Yes, no woman would let a man toy with her emotions," Princess Evie said, smearing the surface of her freshly baked bread with freshly made butter.
And after that, she read the newspaper for any new developments.
After her morning routine, she finally got out of bed.
Her maids rushed toward her and followed her to the bathroom before they began to undress her.
They knew very much how she preferred her bath to be prepared. Her favorite bath bombs, mostly in lavender and flower petals.
She watched them as they filled the tub with water and dropped the bath bombs.
Within minutes, her bath was ready, getting in after taking off her robe, they began scrubbing her body.
After they had scrubbed her body, a bath caddy was placed in front of her with a variety of fruits, nuts, and berries on a plate on it with a glass of red wine In it and a book in her hand.
"Seriously, a mother butler did it, series?" she sighed, flipping the covers of the book.
A knock was heard on the door and Agnes entered, coughing to get Princess Evie's attention.
"I hear you, Agnes, go on," she said, staring at the pages of the book.
"Duke Stuart is in the study room," she said.
"Aw snap!" she groaned, sipping her wine, "does it have to be now?"
Taking more berries in her mouth, she took off the caddy and stood up, dabbing her body with a fluffy towel.
She put on her robe and dragged herself out of the water, walking towards her huge closet.
Her maids dried her light brown hair and styled it curly, just the way she liked it. And then a light lipgloss was applied to her full light pink lips.
And after that, she put on a simple blue dress, wore her sandals, and wore her cologne, taking in a deep breath before she left to see her guest.
After listening to Duke Stuart confess his feelings toward her, she sighed and then shook her head.
"I am so sorry, but it's not going to work, like never," Princess Evie said, a little too blunt.
"I don't want to sound mean or anything but I'm not sitting here waiting for a prince charming like in the fairy tales, I want to build my kingdom before I ever think of settling down into a family life."
"Let's get out of here, this Princess has gone bunkers, so much pride in her," the woman who had escorted Duke Stuart suddenly spoke out.
Princess Evie watched as her guests left in annoyance.
It was difficult for her to watch as mostly Dukes and Princes leave her place frustrated after her rejecting to be their brides.
She heaved a sigh and glided over to her chambers where she sat and began to calculate the Kingdom's monthly budget.
"Aw snap, we exceeded this month's budget," she said to the Chief Knight who just kept stuffing his mouth with doughnuts.
"Who is in charge of ordering the spices?" she asked.
"Mrs. Laura the head cook?"
"Then we would have to cut most of the supplies, or we could be in a really big debt this year."

Seated on his large blue-themed chair, Prince Nicholas took out the cigar from his mouth and sipped on his pint of beer.
Coming into his chambers was Sir Arthur. He had a wide toothy grin on his face and then bowed his head a little as he stood in front of Prince Nicholas.
"What brings you here?"
"Your Highness I have gathered some information about Princess Evie, the crown Princess of Narva."
"Go on," Prince Nicholas said, adjusting his position on the seat.
"From what I heard, she's an orphan who was birthed by her birth parents in the Kingdom of Narva. She is a young maiden of Twenty-three years. "
"Good. I like the young ones. Keep an eye on her."
"And then before tomorrow dusk, send her all the roses a lady from the Royal family would cherish, and do not forget to include some special gifts," Prince Nicholas said.
"Yes, Your Highness," Sir Arthur said, walking away hastily.
The next day,
In the Kingdom of Narva.

Princess Evie woke up and just like shed whole life, followed her routine. Breakfast in bed, listening to the morning show on the radio, and reading the newspaper before she took her shower.
"Why don't everybody be like me and eat foods from nature, these nuts are really good, here have one," Princess Evie said, giving Agnes one of the nuts as the maids scrubbed her body.
"See, if people would stop throwing all of these good foods away, our budget wouldn't have exceeded its normal rate," she said.
After being scrubbed, she rinsed her body and went to her closet, where her hair was done and lip gloss was applied.
And then she put on a floral pink dress, and a hat to go with black boots.
"Mrs. Laura and I ate going to the market to plan for next month's supply of spices. Now I have to involve myself in even the smallest but yet biggest matters," she said.
She got to the market through her horse carriage and spent her morning, tolling amidst the merchants and marketers.
Later that day, she retired to her place, taking off her hat and sighing deeply.
"The marketers must be exhausted, gosh!"
"Prepare a nice warm bath for me and add some bath salts to it, I need to get rid of this sweat, it's disgusting," Princess Evie said.
If there was anything Princess Evie hated more than wasted food, it was a stinky smell, from anywhere.
After she took her shower, she retired to the study room where she proceeded to read old magazines.
From the room, she could hear loud trumpets being blown from the gates of her Palace.
She dropped the magazine she was holding and went over to the large window to know what the music was all about.
She could only see a set of men dressed in red uniforms and trumpets in their hands.
"My Princess, some men are here for you," Agnes said.
Princess Evie nodded and then walked behind to the hall ground where the music was being played.
In front of the band were three men, all dressed in red cloaks.
When the music finally came to its climax, the three men all walked towards her, grinning ear to ear.
The maids had all gathered to watch the show the men had put up.
"What a pleasure to finally meet you, Princess Evie of Kingdom Narva," one of them spoke, holding out his hand as Princess Evie placed hers on it.
"I am Sir John, and I come here to represent the mighty Prince and soon-to-be King Nicholas," he said after he kissed the back of her hands.
Just as he said that a fleet of maiden all walked in, pulling dozens of carts of bouquets.
"And to what do I owe this beautiful surprise?" she asked, grinning sweetly.
"A dinner date with Prince Nicholas," he said.
Everywhere suddenly went quiet and Princess Evie took in a deep breath, and then pressed her lips.
"I am sorry, I can't accept this."
The three men once grinning faces turned sour and she gave them a charming grin.
"Don't get me wrong, the roses, even the music, and these massively huge gift boxes are just perfect. But, I am not leaving my kingdom to see any man," Princess Evie said.
"Well I never, is there some kind of mistake or trouble? We are here for you," Sir Arthur said.
Not knowing what else to do, she walked away from them, leaving them not only in shock but in annoyance.
***
"How dare she?! Refuse me? Does she wish for death and misery upon herself and her kingdom?"
"Get the guards ready," He roared.
"Nicholas, are you serious? Because she rejected you? Come on!" his sister, Princess Charlotte said.
"I have a title before my name, sister," he said.
"John, I expect my commands to be followed, immediately."
Two days passed by and Princess Evie had forgotten all about the men openly and bluntly embarrassed.
She had just returned from the big opening of the renovation of the kingdom's parks.
"Today was a very rough day," she sighed to herself, looking out of the balcony at the little huts and houses in her view.
She had no other words how to describe how much she loved this place, her birthplace.
Feeling exhausted, she went to her bed to take a nap.
It didn't take more than an hour when the door of her room flew open and Agnes rushed in, panting heavily as she clutched her hands to her stomach.
Princess Evie was about to say something when she interrupted.
"My Princess, some armed men broke into the Kingdom's gates!" Agnes said, with a horrified expression on her face.
As Princess Evie processed all she had just said, she quickly jumped out of her bed to see Agnes, clasping her hands over her chest, where an arrow had been shot.
"No!" Princess Evie screamed, rushing over to her, "Hey, stay with me Agnes," she said, grabbing her bloody hands.
"My Princess, I-I do not want to die, not before you," she stuttered.
Panicking a little, she grabbed the end of the arrows and began to drag it out, but unfortunately, it broke, leaving the dagger in the stabbed area.
"This is fucking poisoned! Who would do this?!" she screamed, shaking Agnes's shoulder.
"Stay with me! Agnes fucking Agnes stay with me!" she screamed at Agnes's body which had already become limp.
A guard immediately ran over to her side and dragged her away from Agnes who lay in a pool of her blood.
Around her, the people in her once peaceful castle were now running and tumbling over one another.
The chandelier which was hung gracefully crashed in the center of the hall room, earning shrieking sounds from the maids.
"Tell me! Who are these?" she gripped the guard's collar and began shaking it.
"They are yet unidentified, but we have it under control, my Princess," he said.
"Under control?! What fucking control?! The whole palace is in chaos-"
Suddenly he went limp, convulsing a little before he fell to the floor. Princess Evie who saw that gave a blood-curling shriek and began running to get herself to safety.
If there was any time she was bothered about, it was her people's safety.
She grabbed one of her cloaks and threw them over her head, running towards her palace's opened gates.
Her guards were laying on the grounds, some had torn limbs and others had their heads ripped from their bodies and she couldn't process all the gruesome things she sight as she ran past them.
The rebelling Kingdom must have brought thousands of their skilled soldiers. But who could that be?
When she got there all she could do was stare as she felt her whole body turn cold. The sight in front of her was very gruesome.
The houses they use to live in were either on fire or had some of their parts broken down.
She couldn't do anything as she watched her people scream as some fell and some rushed to their helpless crying children.
"My Princess, we have helped some children and people cross over to the next kingdom. Come with us!" one of the guards said, holding the helmet tightly to his head.
Princess Evie shook her head, "get them to safety, and get more soldiers for backup," she said.
The guard nodded his head before he ran away into the thick bush.
The whole kingdom was in chaos, Princess Evie being confused just began running, tumbling over the thorns of the bushes, ripping her dress and even her once spotless skin.
As she was about to enter one of the houses, she felt a tiny needle prick her in the neck.
She abruptly stopped in her tracks and trailed her fingers to the back of her neck, touching whatever had made its way to her neck.
She heard a little maniac laughter before she suddenly felt dizzy and finally slumped.
***
The heat of the atmosphere around Princess Evie awoken her from her deep slumber.
As she struggled to keep her eyes open, she found herself surrounded by unknown men.
She realized what had just occurred when she looked at the mess her kingdom was turned into.
In front of her were about just six men. Just six men!
Three of them, she couldn't help but notice them. They looked very familiar with those men who had come to her two days ago.
A man dressed in a perfect black suit and pants, with dark hair and dark brown eyes. From his stature and appearance among the remaining five, she assumed him to be in charge of everything.
"You must be really smart, Princess," he said.
There was no way he heard what she had just said.
"What are you?" Princess Evie asks, staring at the bodies of the dismembered men who once worked for her.
It was a shocker that just five men had done this to more than a hundred soldiers.
The tall and masculine figure in front of her brushed his small mustache and then smirked, "what gave that away, Princess?"
He shared a peal of short maniac laughter with his five subjects.
Tears filled Princess Evie's eyes as she stared at the huge blood fest in front of her, most of her people were dead, and the rest were nowhere to be found.
She was all alone and there was no way she would survive in the hands of these people.
"Is this because I rejected you? I would never accept such a disgusting man as yourself."
His victorious grin turned to a frown and he ordered for her to be held by two abled men.
"Fuck you! You killed innocent blood!" she finally screamed, crashing to the ground as she sobbed.
Her kingdom was always a happy place and never had any troubles with anyone.
"This land would be good as the battle training field or even the training camp for the men," he said, with no remorse for what he had just done.
She could have sworn that she saw his dark brown colored eyes change to a crimson color but took it as the effect of the bright torchlights in the dark area.
"Take her!" he ordered.
"Let go of me! Get your hands off me!"
"Next time I give an order, you obey my command. Maybe in your next life, you would get the chance to make corrections," he said.
"So you're the Nicholas, fucking fuck you!" she screamed and spat at him.
He scrunched his face as he touched the saliva on his face and then wiped them off on his suit.
He grabbed her face and she gave a little yelping sound, "Aren't you a pretty one, yet stubborn?"
His lips formed into a smirk and he brushed his fingers on her face, giving her a toothy grin.
"You would make a lovely pet, Princess."
