Alpha Luther Wants Me Back

When a wolf finds its mate, it will stop at nothing to make sure that it loves the mate with no limits. Only that wasn't the case for me, I wasn't my husband's fated mate. The one they said was meant to be his fated Mate appeared a year ago.

Standing in the ward of the Blood Crest Pack General Hospital, I couldn't think or even do anything. My entire body was covered in bruises and cuts from a car accident that had happened earlier.

On the other side of the room was Adriane; she was also in the accident, but the only difference was that Luna Katherina, my husband's mother, was taking care of her.

"Selena, you will take the fall for this accident, and it's final. I don't want any objection from you." Luna Katherina looked at me as she ordered.

I had never questioned my mother-in-law's words, I always made sure that I followed her orders even when they seemed inhumane and out of the ordinary. But this was not going to be one of those.

"But Luna, I..." I mustered up the strength to speak up. I looked at her, and I could see that she wasn't even going to try and listen to me. It was going to be like screaming into a black hole.

"You didn't hear me? I said You are going to take the blame for this accident. Do I make myself clear? I can't let Adriane take the fall for it. She is of Beta Blood, and you are a complete nobody; there is no way anyone would be sad if they found out that you took the blame for the crime."

Luna Katherina spoke up again; this time, her voice was firm, and the look on her face was scary as hell. There was no way I would be able to do anything with her looking at me like that. She rushed back to Adriane's side, I watched her as she took care of Adriane, trying to ignore the fact that I was the one who needed more medical attention.

"But Luna," I looked at her, I had never in my whole stay there as my husband's wife talked back to her. But this was different.

"I can't take the blame for this. I didn't do it, nor was I the one driving. So I can't.."

Luna Katherina didn't even let me finish my sentence, she turned back to look at me. "So you say that you are going to disobey my orders?"

"I would never say no to your orders, it's just that I can't take the blame for this, my Luna." I protested. I was looking at Luna. She was not going to be taking no for an answer.

"But then who is better taking the blame for this? The daughter of a Beta who would help our pack rise to greater heights? Or a nobody who doesn't know where she belongs in the pecking order? Come on, Selena, you really should look for a way to show us that you care." Another voice chimed in. I turned to see who it was and I saw Anna.

Anna, my husband's elder sister chimed in. I turned to see her walking to her mother's side. It was like she was taunting me; there was nothing I could do to her or say.

I had endured all their insults and abuse for the past three years, all because of the love I have for my Husband.

"You are nothing a leech in our life, why won't you leave Luther so he can be with the one he is meant to be with."

"A complete nobody that thinks that she can become the Alpha's Luna. What a pathetic excuse of a person."

Their insults had never changed ever since I knew them. I had never gotten a good word from them, only insults and torments. But there was only one thing that kept me through that. It was my love for Luther.

He was not just perfect, but he was a gift sent from the moon goddess. The moment he chose me to be his mate, the moment he looked me in the eyes and decided that I was going to be his mate, was the moment that changed my life for the good. I loved him beyond words, it was love at first sight. I found myself doing anything possible to make sure that he was happy. But doing this? It was a bit too much for me.

My head was feeling a bit dizzy, I was sure it was due to the wounds on my body. I didn't know what to do, but I was looking at Luna Katherina and Anna as they ran to Adriane's side.

Adriane wailed when she noticed that Luna Katherina and Anna were now by her side. "I am sorry, Luna Katherina. I was only trying to get a gift for Luther. I didn't know what I was going to do when I hit that man," Adriane paused, for some reason she looked at me. I could see an evil smirk on her face; it was quite faint, but it was there.

That evil bitch!

"I only beg you not to let Selena take the blame for something she didn't do. I will take responsibility for my mistake, and there is nothing wrong with that." Adriane Selena.

Was still filling the room with her wails. I couldn't get through my head how it would make my mother-in-law and Anna look at her a bit differently.

"You don't need to worry. Selena will take the blame for this, and she will be sure that there is nothing done to you." Luna Katherina turned to look at me, I could feel her anger. She had never tried to hide it from me, even though I was Luther's Luna and chosen mate. For some reason, they didn't even care.

They kept it in their head that Adriane was Luther's fated mate and I was the one blocking their bond. There was nothing I could even do about the woman who was trying to take my husband from me; she entered our lives a year ago, and she refused to leave.

"Selena, I am not going to tell you this once more. You will be the one to stand trial for the crash, and there is nothing I would even want from you after all this. I want you to make sure that nothing would happen to her." Luna Katherina ordered once more, She was looking at me with what looked like eyes of pity.

The eyes I knew very well what they meant, it had been like this all my stay there. I was never even treated like a person there, it was like I was a tool. I waited on their hands and feet trying to make sure I would win their approval, only for a damned canary to swoop down and try to make them put me on trial.

I didn't know what I was going to say anymore, it was clear that they weren't going to stop trying to persuade me. I looked at them as I kept trying my best to stand on my feet. I wasn't strong enough to even do anything.

I bowed my head, I was not going to be taking the blame for something I didn't do. It was clear what was happening. "I am sorry, Luna, I will not take the fall for this. I want to hear what Luther has to say about this."

"You are waiting for my son's judgment? You must be insane if you think that he would choose a nobody like you over the daughter of the Beta that was meant to be his Luna. compared to her, you are nothing!" Luna Katherina roared; it was like she wanted me to fall no matter what happened.

I was looking at her; short of words, I couldn't even think of what to say. I could hardly think with all the pain I felt all over my body. I knew I could pass out any moment, but I was not going to let them do anything they wanted with me.

"I." I was about to speak when a familiar scent enveloped me, it was intoxicating and inviting. There was only one being with that scent.

"Luther ?"

Luther's scent engulfed the entire room, making it hard for me to talk. It was strange how he was an Alpha; all other Alphas would fear or run at the sight of any trouble. But what's more, it was strange how he was the man I fell in love with.

His composed demeanor and calm thinking were why I had fallen for him in the first place. I was once someone who wouldn't even entertain the idea of being with anyone, but then there was something about Luther that drew me to him.

I looked at him as he entered the room; his face was still the same as ever. Immediately, the entire room changed, his scent covering everywhere and everything.

"Luther ?" I called out in a whisper. I was too weak to even make it louder, but there was no need for it. He looked at me, I was thrilled that my husband looked at me for the first time in a while.

I was about to say something to him, for the first time. "Luther, I."

But almost immediately Anna cut in like a damned canary, it was like she didn't want me to say anything to him. "Luther, good thing you're here. We have been trying to tell Selena to do what is right and take the fall for the accident, but she has been protesting."

Luther looked at her, his gaze meant that he wanted her to be quiet. Luther turned, walking towards me. I didn't even know what was going on. But my mind was too faint to process what was happening in front of me.

I was tired, but that didn't mean I was going to stand there and let them do whatever they wanted without defending myself.

"Luther, they are trying to make me take the blame for what I didn't do. Please tell them that it is unfair and inhumane. I wasn't the one that..." I said in a hurry, trying my best to blurt out all I had in mind.

Luther raised his hand to stop me from continuing, my lips went silent almost immediately. "It's okay, Selena. I know you weren't the one that caused the accident." He placed his hand on my cheek, and his face was a bit closer to mine, making it hard for me to even think properly.

Was he finally going to defend me like his wife? Was he going to treat me like his wife and not act like I was some kind of burden to him? I wanted to know if he was going to finally kiss me and make me his in front of everyone.

"Selena," Luther called out to me, his voice calm. It was like he wanted to tell me something.

"Yes, Luther ?" I managed to whimper. I was looking at him, and I was not even sure that there was anything else I could think of at the moment. I wanted him to kiss me and make me his there on the spot.

"The victim of the crash passed away, and the council of elders has all demanded that someone would stand trial for the person's death."

Hearing this, my heart went cold, I didn't need a prophet to tell me what he wanted to say.

"Of course, a nobody like her should stand trial. Adriane is of Beta Blood, and not only that, she is your fated mate. If anything should happen to her, then you will feel a lot of pain. So it will be advisable you don't let anything happen to her." Luna Katherina spoke up, I couldn't even think of anything else.

Luther was silent, still looking at me but not saying a word. I couldn't believe my eyes, he wanted me to take the blame for a crime I didn't commit.

"Mother, please, I want to ask her myself. Don't do this here," Luther said in a rather calm voice, his face wearing a look of irritation, and I knew that there was something a bit off.

Luther turned to me; his gaze never shifted as he looked into my eyes. "Selena, I want you to know that there is no way I would ask you for anything. Or tell you to do something that might hurt you. But I need you to do this one thing for me."

My heart sank even deeper when I heard what he was trying to ask of me, there was no way I would have imagined in this world that Luther would want to pin the blame on me.

"Alpha, I can't possibly do this. There is no way I can think of taking the blame for this." I stood my ground, there was no way I would be taking the fall for something that diabolical.

The judgment would be more than anyone can handle, and I would not want to be caught in the middle of something like that.

"What are you talking about? You have to do this to make sure that Adriane will not get punished for this. You know that she is Luther's fated mate, and if anything should happen to her, it would hurt him." Anna spoke up, she was looking at me. Her voice was laced with disgust, she didn't try to hide the fact that she wasn't a fan of me being with her brother.

No matter what she said, I was not going to throw my life away for something I didn't do, and it was not even going to be a crime that one can walk away from.

"Please, Selena, you can use this for repayment of all the kindness and good we have shown you for the past three years." Luna Katherina said, looking at me. She wore a fake smile on her face.

Kindness? Good? What in the world was she talking about?! From the moment I stepped into this pack as Luther's wife, I have gotten nothing but hate and torture. Usually, when one marries the Alpha, she becomes the Luna and is not meant to be treated like a queen.

But from the moment I entered this pack, I was subjected to chores. I did everything from Luna Katherina's laundry and other things to making sure that Anna was treated nicely. And not for once did they see me as a good match for their beloved Luther.

I never complained; I took it all in because I loved Luther with all my heart. I wanted to make sure that I got him to see that nothing was going to hold me down from loving him. Now I see that all my efforts were in vain; I had not even made them see me as anything other than a burden to their life.

I looked up to see Luther was looking at me, he had hints of worry in his eyes. I knew that he was not going to let me go through with this if I stood my ground.

Luther cleared his throat for a bit, he looked at me. "Selena, take the fall for this. I am pleading with you, I will make sure that it won't be a harsh punishment. I will make sure that you are safe and there is no way anything would happen to you."

I could not believe what I was hearing, I didn't utter a word. I just looked at Luther, it was clear that I was not going to be able to convince him that I was not going to take the fall for the accident.

"My Alpha, I can not do this. I can't see myself taking the fall for something I didn't do." I said, not altering my words, I wanted him to know that I was serious and there was no way I would be taking the blame.

Luna Katherina, and Anna both hissed; they looked at me with utter disgust. "This nobody is giving us a hard time here, I don't know why she would even think that there will be a chance for her to say no!"

Luna Katherina was not happy with my reply; it was not even clear why, but I should have known that she was not going to be happy. The woman practically wanted to peel me off her son for years.

"She is only doing this so that she won't lose the money and wealth tied to Luther, we should know that even nobody would want to live the life of a queen," Anna added, she looked at me with disgust and I knew that nothing was going to change but I wanted to see if the man I had devoted my life to for the past three years will defend me.

"Mother, Anna, please calm down. I don't want to make a ruckus here." Luther ordered the room to go a bit silent when he spoke up. I thought he was going to say something and make them see that there was no way it would be right for me to take the fall for something that bad.

Luther turned to me, he had something on his mind, and by the looks of things. He was going to ask me something that would change the case.

"Selena?" Luther called out. His soft and calming voice made me want to run into his arms. I couldn't hold myself back, but I had to look for a way.

"Yes, my Alpha," I answered as I waited for him to say what was on his mind. I wanted him to tell me that there was nothing to worry about and that he was going to take care of everything.

"Selena, take the fall for this, and I will make sure that you don't lose anything. I will see to it that you are handsomely paid, and there will be no way for you to be worried." Luther said as he looked at me.

My heart almost stopped beating. "What?"

I looked at Luther, I couldn't say a word, my legs shivering as I tried to process what I had heard from him.

"You want me to do what?" I said in fear. I was confused and didn't know if he meant what he said when he said that he wanted me to take the fall for the accident and make sure that no one would know.

Worst of all, he said he would give me three million dollars if I took the blame.

Luther grunted a bit, he was rubbing his scalp as he looked at me. "Selena, please don't act like you didn't hear a thing I just said. I want you to take the blame for the accident. In return, I will give you three million dollars."

I was filled with horror when I heard what he said, there was no way in the world I would have thought that Luther would say something like that to me. He was offering me money like I was some kind of cheap whore.

"I am sorry, Alpha, I will not take this money. Nothing you will say will make me even think of taking the blame for something like this." I protested; I was not going to be letting him make me feel like I was some kind of option.

Luther paused and looked at me, his face was filled with pure horror and shock. He was still shocked that I was saying no to what he was saying, but who in their right mind would even think of taking such an offer?

"Is she out of her mind? There is no way she is saying no to the Alpha's orders. Who in the world do you think you are?! We are giving you a one-way ticket out of the stupid life that nobody lives, and you are saying no to it? You must be one foolish girl to think that you will get an offer like this again in your wretched life." Luna Katherina was not going to let Selena say no to her son's orders.

"Yes, mother, I wonder what is giving her the gall to act like this. There is no way she is saying no to something like this, I will see to it that you..."

"Mother, Anna! Both of you need to calm down! I will handle this!" Luther roared; he was not happy that I had told him that I would not take the blame for the crime Adriane had committed and that I was standing by my word.

Luther looked at me; his eyes couldn't hide his disappointment, and it was clear as day that he was going to be asking me one more time.

"Selena, I want you to know that there is no other way for this to happen, and I need you to."

"There is another way, and that is if Adriane takes responsibility for what she did!" I yelled; I didn't know what had come over me.

"You know she is my fated mate, and I can't do that. I am meant to make sure that I protect her and make sure that nothing is going to happen to her for my safety and everything else."

"Before you found out that she was your fated mate, I was your wife, and if you might have forgotten, I am still your wife, Luther!" I yelled at the top of my voice, looking at him.

"What do you want? Tell me what you want and I will make sure that you have it. Do you want to keep the title of Luna You can have it. Do you want more money? I will make sure that you get all that you want. So please, will you take the fall for this?! I know you have to have a heart there." Luther sounded a bit desperate at this point, and I knew that there was something a bit odd.

I didn't even know what I was going to tell him to let him know that nothing was going to make me want to take the blame for that crime. "I don't want anything, I just want you to..."

"If you don't want anything, then why did you keep staying even after I found out that Adriane was my fated mate?! Why did you stay even when you saw that I had found her?!" Luther yelled. out of everything I had heard that night it was those words that hurt me more.

He was asking me why I stayed as if it wasn't obvious why I had stayed with him even after all the torment and insults I had gotten from his family.

I stayed because I loved him with every fiber of my being. I wanted him to see that nothing was going to make me love another man like I loved Luther, but it has all led to him saying this to me.

All my years of giving him nothing but my love have led to him asking why I stayed.

"Will you take the money, or are you going to keep putting up an act? I know you only clung to my son for his wealth, and there was nothing else keeping you with him." Luna Katherina spoke up, I looked at her, seeing the look of disgust.

I didn't even need her to say any other thing, I knew that there was no way I would be able to get to them. They had always seen me as nothing more than another pest who wanted to use Luther for his money.

'If only I had made sure to mind my business. If only I had listened to my father's warnings. I wouldn't have ended up like this." I looked at them; I could see the hate they bore for me, and there was no sign that they were ever going to change.

I shifted my gaze to Luther, looking at him with a heavy heart. I didn't know what I was going to do, but I had a question on my mind. "So all these years, all this time you think I was only here for your wealth? Do you think that low of me Luther?"

Luther's eyes were filled with disgust and disappointment, I could see there was no way he could hide it.

"I married you when I needed to fill in the spot of a Luna. I thought I was never going to get a fated one, so I had to go with what I had," Luther said without even holding back. I didn't need to ask him any other question.

It was only an option.
