"Now, run! Rogues are attacking!" Andrew shouts, veins bulging from his neck. Alpha Fred, too stunned to believe, remains seated on his official throne.
"Help the Alpha up!" Jude shouts with quavering lips as he marches inside, each step echoing with thuds.
"Let's go." Andrew takes Fred's arms, guiding him into the shifting room. Alpha Fred, dropping to his knees, bellows at the top of his voice as his wolf takes control. In his wolf form, Alpha Fred dashes towards the main gate, prepared to confront the rogues and unleash his intimidating power upon them.
Andrew refrains from transforming into his wolf; instead, he wanders through the Alpha's quarters, meticulously opening and shutting each door to confirm the presence of any other wolves. Jude follows Alpha Fred in his human form, but Fred swiftly outpaces him, his wolf unable to sustain the rapid pace.
"Is anyone in there?" Andrew yells, hands clasped around his head. "Rogues are here, and they're not the usual ones. They've been sent from the Lunar Blaze Clan!" As he makes this statement, a door creaks open.
"Here..." a hand extends. "...help me out, please." Andrew reaches for the hand and pulls the wolf out. Once they are out, he sighs and clears his throat.
"My mate and pup are in there. Please, save them," Pleading, he hoists the door, already shattered. The door breaks into bits, and particles fly into his eyes. He rubs his eyes and stares back. Statuesque, he drools and gestures to Andrew. Andrew notices his gaze and follows it, gradually becoming short of words.
Lo and behold, the Alpha of the Lunar Blaze Clan is right here. Walking majestically and with fury in his eyes, he transforms into his wolf and zooms in their direction.
"Fast, go!" Andrew yells, and unintentionally, his wolf takes control as he breaks the door into pieces. Both the man's mate and pup crawl out, but unfortunately, Alpha Max has settled in front of them before they can move, smirking as much as he can.
"Good day to you, Beta Andrew," he laughs in derision, rearranging his coat and scoffing at their sudden dumbness.
"Don't hurt me, please. I know nothing about what you are doing," Andrew speaks out of fear, as the pup and mate clutch onto the saved man.
Max smirks, and soon, his Betas race towards them through their wolves, standing alert for any attack.
"Where is the Alpha of this pack?" Max deadpans, clicking his tongue.
"He is not in his quarters; you can come inside to check yourself," Andrew says, turning his back to him and heading straight into the Alpha's quarters. Max, however, smacks his forehead and drags him back. With hands squeezing Andrew's shirt, he asserts, "For sure, your pack is getting annihilated. So, don't play games with me. You can be saved and be an Omega for our pack. But else, you're dead." Then he releases his shirt, and Andrew staggers.
"And for you..." he points at the shivering man. "... you have to go with us, keep quiet, or we will end your life right here."
Without objecting, the man frees himself from his mate and pup, walking towards Alpha Max.
He stands face to face with him, gnashing his teeth.
"Can you repeat what you said, Alpha?" He asks, fearfully, his eyes staring straight into Max's.
"You dare confront an Alpha?" Brutus, one of Max's Betas, pounds the man's chest, sending him to the ground. The man collides with his head on the ground, and Andrew stoops to check up on him.
"Why would your Beta do that, Alpha?" Andrew asks. "Hey, man. Stand up, let's go." He helps the man up, and heads straight into the Alpha's quarters. His mate and pup follow them, and unexpectedly, Alpha Max and his Betas don't follow them. Instead, they shift into their wolves and head to the main gate, mainly because they are being mind-linked.
"Where are you, Alpha?!" The Omega of Lunar Blaze Clan cries out in the pack's mind link. Max quickly transforms into his wolf, leaping to the main gate. Seeing Fred and Jude defeating his sent rogues, he shifts back behind a tree, and his Beta helps him get some clothes. He soon returns, and Max puts them on.
"Alpha Fred of the Silver Moon Pack, all hail to thee," he scoffs, and Fred stares back, only to see him smiling. In a few minutes, the remaining rogues narrowly escape, and now, the Alpha of Silver Moon Pack, Fred, and the Alpha of Lunar Blaze Clan, Max, with his Betas as well, remain here.
"We are not here for any argument if you cooperate," Max deadpans, walking up to Fred.
"You are an Old Wolf..." he starts, hitting his chest. Jude holds Fred, who is about to fall.
"You don't do that, Alpha. Thumping the chest of an Alpha?" Jude retorts, asking Fred if he's alright.
"Well, you've got guts to retort. I'll render you useless when we return."
"...you will soon join your ancestors," Max continues. "My advice to you is to surrender your pack to ours and let's be a single pack!"
"Never!" Andrew barks from behind. The man, his mate, and the pup had escaped through devised means.
"Who... who are you?" Brutus, one of Max's Betas, rubs his eyes, trying to focus on Andrew approaching.
"I'm Andrew, the Beta of the Silver Moon Pack. We would never surrender to your order. So, please get out of this pack house and go rule your freaking pack!"
Fred starts to cough out his lungs, but his wolf speeds up the recovery process, and he soon becomes hale and hearty. Fred is 71 years old; he's been the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack since he was 40, meaning he's been reigning for 31 good years.
Now, it's time to give the Alpha position to another Wolf. Alpha Max of the Lunar Blaze Clan heard about this and planned to take the pack as theirs to increase their fame and population.
He speaks softly, but when the pack doesn't reply softly, he rebukes and threatens them with a revengeful and creepy comeback.
"Dear Alpha Fred, that's our advice for you. I give you three days to think about it. I, myself, might come any time after the three days have expired, and you know what that means?" Max smirks. "Little pack with weak wolves."
Jude grunts and gnashes his teeth, his wolf threatening to thrust out of him.
Alpha Max brushes past Alpha Fred, hitting his arms with his, deliberately, and chuckling as they both exit the pack house.
"Alpha Fred, move straight to the palace," Jude says, and Fred transforms into his wolf. "I do not know how our pack members are faring now. Andrew, please shift and follow behind him. I'll join you soon."
"Sure, boss," Andrew says, and his wolf takes control as he follows hard after Fred, and they both get inside the palace after a few seconds.
Jude mopes around the main pack gate, sniffing the air stuck around him, conducting an experiment. He locks the gate with his wolf power after Maxwell and others are gone, then moves through the corridor, searching for any wolves that might have hidden there. He notices thirteen wolves lying lifelessly on the ground - Alpha Max's rogues got them. Couldn't their Wolves even heal them? The rogues are indeed from the Lunar Blaze Clan.
"Damn!" He wails and stoops, as he checks their pulses. "Gone, and gone forever."
"Try to heal them." A voice like a foghorn hits him, and he looks up at once but doesn't see anyone. Sniffing the scent around him, he observes that it's not his pack's; not Silver Moon's. Catching sight of a gun, he picks it up immediately, though he's sure it won't help. Then, he jerks a lame door open, and sweat trickles down his forehead.
"Now!" He screams. "Come out!
"Who yelled?" His voice increases in pitch, alarming his wolf. He cools himself down, not wanting his wolf to take over his body.
Suddenly, the gun in his hand drops to the ground with a light thud, and he reverses his steps, taking to his heels, heading to the Alpha's quarters. He runs fast as though his life depends on it.
"Let me help you," his wolf tells him, but he doesn't reply. He runs with his physical energy, and as he enters the palace, he shuts the door tight, glad to see all hundred warriors in the Alpha's Quarters.
"Why are you breathing heavily?" Fred asks, trying to stand up. "What's wrong?"
"Alpha Fred... you have to go now!" Andrew yells, gasping for breath.
"What... what, man?" Jude approaches and asks.
"He has to go now; they are coming for him!"
"The Lunar Blaze Clan?" Jude clips, his voice breaking, and all the pack members shut their lips not because they don't know what to say but because they have many things to say, but shocks hold their lips down.
Andrew nods slightly. Midway, he shakes his head, saying, "no."
"Then, what pack again?" Jude's heart rate starts to rise, and Fred stands up from his seat too to meet with Andrew.
"Three good packs. Coming for the Alpha!" Andrew slightly yells, gasping as he struggles to make his words clear, making him repeat it many times.
Then he gains the energy and yells. "He has to go now!"
"Just fucking go!" He keeps yelling but the pack members stare at him weirdly, crazily and they all assume in their minds that he's out of his mind.
"He's talking trash." Cole, one of the pack members, remarks. "Why should an Alpha start fleeing?"
"Don't say that." Jude clips but fixes his gazes at a direction, thinking of the next line of action.
"We have to face the packs ourselves. We dare not be intimidated. Alright?" He cools Andrew down, and Fred retires to his official seat. Once he sits down, a knock is heard on the door.
"Who is that, please?" Fred says in his Alpha tone. That's to say, he issued a command and must get an answer.
"We greet your pack house and pack members. We come in peace but to leave you in pieces." The baritone voice rattles, making them shiver without even seeing them face to face yet.
Fred sighs, as he gesticulates to Jude to open the door. Through the other door at the end, the pack members retreat to their rooms and respective fields with alacrity. Jude and Andrew, the two Betas of Fred, and Fred are now left in the room. Jude rubs his chest with his palm, and sighs as he jerks the door open.
Alpha Kenneth walks in, winking at Fred. His two Betas enter as well after he does, and they both stand in respect to Fred.
"Alpha Fred!" Kenneth calls, and Fred widens his smiles. "It's been a while, actually." Then he salutes him.
"Is this who you were running from like an asshole?" Jude whispers into Andrew's ears, and he nods. Jude knocks on his forehead, and slightly punches his nose.
"It's a peaceful Alpha, don't fear." Jude tells him, and he nods in response.
"So, Alpha Kenneth..." Fred rises to his feet. "...what has brought you here?"
Alpha Kenneth walks up to him, and stands face to face with him.
"To deliver a message from the moon goddess." He purrs, slightly irritating Jude.
"Oh, thanks! We do have those responsible for that." Fred chuckles softly, his eyes ranging around the room for a good response.
"I know. But this is more important. Can we talk?" Kenneth says, and winks at Jude.
"But we are talking right now. Just let's have our seat..." Jude says. "...over here." He points to the Alpha's official chatting room designed with various kinds of flowers. Such Alpha is to smell the flower, and the smell that belongs to the pack would affirm what kind of flower to pluck while discussing.
In this werewolf kingdom, moon goddess can't appear to you until you are with flowers that suit your scent. No matter the urgency of the situation, moon goddess would never appear. Alpha Kenneth walks and chuckles as he pricks the flowers one by one, sniffing it in and out.
"Andrew" Jude calls him. "Please, stay at the main entrance, and alert us should any pack wants to barge in or there's some sort of commotion. The Alpha's mind link is active. Mine is, and the pack's is."
"Sure, boss." Andrew bows a little bit, and walks away from the chatting room.
"So, Alpha Kenneth..." Fred speaks haggardly. "...which is your smell?"
"This one that smells like banana." One of his two Betas says, and plucks it out.
"Here, Alpha!" He gives it to Fred, and he accepts it as they all enter into the main room to discuss. With Jude. Excluding Andrew.
Jude shuts the door behind himself, and deactivates his scent.
"Alpha Kenneth, we are now right in the room. What has moon goddess got for me?" Fred asks, his hands folded across his arms.
"Beta Jude, can you sit as well?" Kenneth asks, and Jude nods but slightly.
"My Betas are also sitting. Can you...?" He repeats, and Jude cuts in as he sits on one of the couches.
"Moon goddess has shown me a revelation about your child abroad." He speaks up, and adjusts his position. "To confirm her statements to me, she said she would return here in palace by tomorrow morning."
Fred sighs. Jude exhales.
"Daybreak even." Kenneth adds, and Fred shrugs.
"Okay, since we know that now. What's next?" Jude asks. "Should we tell her not to return next morning?"
Kenneth wants to speak but Fred cuts in, with his hands in air and eyes shut.
He reopens his eyes, and says, "Kenneth, I've known you to be a very good Alpha that has been helping me since I got on throne but if I may ask, did you come alone? Is this the message you stressed us to listen to? What do you mean by leaving us in pieces?"
For the last question, one of Kenneth's Betas clears his throat, and inhales.
"Alpha Fred of Rise Moon pack, moon goddess has revealed to me that Emilia, your one and only daughter pup..." he sighs.
"Is in danger?" Jude asks.
"Is dead?" Fred asks.
"None. She is my mate." He retorts, and both Fred and Jude go silent. After a while, Fred clicks his tongue and exhales sharply.
"So, this has been your intention all this while!" Fred tries as much as possible not to raise his voice but he is kind of losing it. He has promised his daughter to get mated to Alpha Matt because of his strength, kindness, coolness, fame and wealth - name it! Why would Kenneth, just a cheap Alpha though strong but not capable of owning a pack, would just come take her up? So easily? Damn.
"Just to let you know, Alpha and Beta. We take our leave." He says, and stands to his feet. He bows his head a bit, and his two Betas do same thing. "We shall come here tomorrow morning for her."
Then he walks out, jerking the door open but suddenly, Jude's words stop him in his tracks.
"Can you give us some sort of evidence?" Jude asks, plainly and rising to his feet, he walks up to him.
"This is Alpha Fred that has been reigning for thirty one years. I've been with him for ten good years." Jude rants.
"That doesn't matter. Moon goddess revealed it to me." Kenneth retorts. "I'll drop my scent with you; maybe you can ask about me from the moon goddess tonight?"
Fred shrugs from inside, and he winks. Kenneth throws the banana scent at him and Jude catches it, though it almost falls.
"Alright. Let's go." Kenneth tells his Betas and they walk away from them.
"You're not going to have her. Do not ever return here!" Fred's wolf is taking control a bit. Fred inhales multiple times to tuck his wolf back in.
"Prove stubborn, and we will leave you in pieces as we earlier stated." Kenneth smirks, and doesn't listen to any other further resentment. He walks away with repeated thuds, and soon, he makes his way out of the pack house. Fred and Jude retire to the main room, and Andrew walks up to them with curiosity."
"What really happened?" He smiles widely but the smiles soon fade out as he discovers the countenance of both Jude and Fred.
"Summon the moon goddess." Fred clips, clicking his tongue and hitting his head in fury.
"How, sir?" Andrew asks in a quavering tone. Fred looks at him with his red eyes, turning into his wolf already, Andrew then nods multiple times as he makes his way out of the room to get those responsible for summoning the moon goddess.
After getting outside the room and beckoning to one of the gammas to come over to him, Karen, the head of those responsible for summoning moon goddess for the Rise Moon Pack enters the room again with him.
"These are the reports." Karen, the head of staffs responsible for summoning moon goddess, reads out. "Moon goddess herself has chosen Emilia, your only daughter to get mated to an Alpha of a pack."
"Come on, be clear. Open the damn sheets on time!" Fred retorts in fury.
"Make sure his wolf doesn't thrust out." He tells one of the staffs, and he walks over to Fred to calm him down. One of the staff.
"The Alpha of a pack that has the sweet smell of fragrance has been chosen by the moon goddess for the princess of this pack." He adds. "I rest my case."
He bows a bit, his hands saluting the Alpha through the forehead. Then, he with his staff members, walk out of the room with their backs turned away from the door.
"He has given us the verdict. Next line of action is to discover the Alpha with the sweet smell of fragrance." Andrews says, and Jude nods.
"We would wait for her arrival tomorrow." Fred retorts. "Till then, don't discuss a thing about her. You can get to your damn businesses now!"
Jude and Andrew obey as they have been strictly ordered. They move to the field to train some wolves how to attack rogues. After few minutes, Fred joins them in the field. He smiles as he realizes his pack members are getting to know the basics of fighting rogues
Andrew sights him walking around the field, and he whistles to Jude.
"Pass the work to the next team. Seems our Alpha needs attention." He tells him in his mind link.
"Beyonce, keep training them!" Jude orders her, and she moves on with the training while some wolves mope around the field; some with the right intentions and some, creepily and with subtle intentions. Denoted right from the way they walk, and stroll around the field.
"Alpha Fred." Jude says, panting as he walks up to him.
"Anything we can do for you?" Andrew asks.
"Well, I didn't call for you but thank goodness you're right here. Remember Alpha Max promised to return after three days?" Fred snorts.
Jude and Andrew sigh and nod their heads together in response.
"Today is the first day. All hands must be on deck to ensure we do not get intimidated and wiped out." Fred adds.
"Andrew, by the way, what three packs did you see the other time?" Fred asks, alongside his statement.
"For real, I saw three packs. One with a horn, one with a feather and, one with a gem." He splutters. "The one with a feather has come inside, and that should be Kenneth. The one with a horn should indicate Alpha Max since he's the leader of the Hell Fire team." Then he stops.
"The one with a gem?" Jude and Fred ask, at same time.
"I don't know but that might be rogues. Maybe special rogues..." He tries to get a point.
"Maybe the rogue designed to be her mate." Jude adds, and covers his lips immediately. He remembers Fred had told them both not to mention anything as regards Emilia.
"I swear to God, I didn't say a word." He lies, and keeps mute due to the sharp gazes from Fred.
"Let's ensure Max and his members don't get in here to destroy us." Fred says, and sighs. "We are only an hundred and one while his pack has thousands of warriors."
"Let's get you in so you won't be stressed." Andrew cuts in.
"Don't! Did I not come here myself? Stop making me seem like an old fool." He corrects, and Andrew apologizes by bowing his head.
"My opinion is to make peace treaty with him." Jude suggests. "Whatcha think?"
"That would have been the best. But I don't think it's an option." Fred retorts. "He clearly wants us to be a team in his pack."
Andrew scoffs, and sneezes multiple times. Then he speaks up, "There's no how we won't mention her if we are to get an idea of how to tackle the hell fire team."
"Then, say it." Fred submits. "Let's get to sit again?"
Jude chuckles, and as Fred stares at him in question as he changes his countenance, and frowns.
"Aah." Fred sighs, reclining his back on the recliner once they get inside his room.
"Let your daughter return here tomorrow. Now, Alpha Kenneth knows she's coming tomorrow." Jude says. "Don't you think we have to go bring her home ourselves?"
"We sure will. I'll send both of you." Fred replies. "Well, it's a pity that since my thirty and one years of reigning, we have never been more than hundred in this pack. That's saddening."
"But having your pack is the issue, not the number of warriors. After all, you only started with some Betas and then us." Andrew encourages.
"I have a thought, guys." Jude says, clicking his tongue. "Haven't you thought of why packs get in here just so easily? Maybe we can just hinder those Alphas and stop thinking of Emilia getting into danger or we going into extinction."
Fred adjusts his sitting position and Andrew does, too. "Wait... that's true. We do lock the gate shut. We have security wolves too. Why do they get in without our permission? Or are those wolves numb?" Andrew adds, giving another thought.
"Let's go have a look!" Fred rises to his feet, and heads straight to the main gate after shutting the door behind him.
The pack members he encounters on his way to the main gate bow their heads, and Fred only responds with his hands in air.
Once they reach the Main gate after marching with repeated thuds, they set their eyes on the nook and crannies of the strong gate. White Wolf Wills bows his head in respect, beckoning to his other security wolves to greet the Alpha.
"Alpha, is everything alright?" Wills asks.
Jude claps his right palm, suggesting Wills gets near them and he gets the tip. He moves near them, and sighs.
"How do Alphas of the pack get in here even with you here and this tight paranormal security?" Jude whispers into his ears while Fred and Andrew keeps inspecting around the gate.
"Remember they are also paranormal?" Wills retorts. "They have the access to get in here. Even without being a wizard or witch."
"How's that?" Jude replies, a little bit loud. "They have power than you do?"
"The gem crystal." Wills retorts, and Jude sighs, linking the recent discussion he had with Fred and Andrew, with Wills' response.
"The gem crystal?" Jude asks again.
"Yes."
"Where is it?"
"Right there at the lock. Once an Alpha's scent blends with the gem crystal, the door creaks open and that's another word for saying moon goddess accepts the visit." Wills rants. "So we have no other option than to let them in, or better still, mind link you and alert you about their arrival."
"We now have an option." Jude replies.
"Alpha Fred, I got the solution." Jude says, and both Fred and Andrew look back at him suddenly while one of the locks hit the gate and makes a clank sound.
"What's that?" Fred asks, sweat trickling down his forehead already as he approaches Jude and Wills whose eyes are awaiting him.
"Andrew, you know you talked about the gem crystal." Jude tells him, and walks up to the gate.
"Yeah, I did." Andrew replies.
"That is the reason behind their barging in without order." He tells them, and they look at themselves, not quite understanding the situation. Wills moves up to the gate, and hits the gem but it doesn't move a bit from where it is.
"Beta Jude." Wills calls him. "Here is the crystal, solidly encrypted and not meant to be shoved."
"Wow!" Fred exhales but Andrew doesn't say a word, his face reads confusion. "You added it there. No?"
"Pluck it out." Fred says but Wills tells him that he can't.
"You can't, Alpha." Wills tells him after Fred tries much attempts to break it off of the gate. "Not even in your wolf form."
Fred hits the gate with his legs, and shouts, "Shit! This is no solution. How do we get this broken off?"
Jude wants to speak but Wills cuts in, and he keeps mute.
"That's if you have the Alpha's scent." He says. "One of the Alphas that got in here - Kenneth or Max."
"Oh!" Jude remarks. "I'll be right back." Then, he leaps forward and heads towards the Alpha's room.
"Where are you up to?" Andrew asks him but Fred retorts, "leave him alone."
"Does he know what he is doing?" Wills asks Fred. Fred doesn't say a word. In a matter of few minutes, Jude comes back with a flower with banana scent in it.
"Remember, Alpha?" He says, walking faster to meet them. "Alpha Kenneth dropped his scent so we can confirm blah blah blah." He said, not wanting to reveal what Kenneth came for, to Wills.
Andrew chuckles, realizing Jude slurry and sudden reload of his number six, not to let the cat out of the bag.
"Yeah, I quite remember. I hope the scent isn't fading." Fred retorts and reaches out for the flowers.
"Almost!" Andrew alerts, and quickly enough, they place the scent on the gem and it dissolves, dropping to the ground.
"This is an achievement." Wills comments.
The gem crystal reforms and glows as Fred picks it up.
"Thank you, Wills." Jude waves at Wills and he, with Andrew and Alpha Fred return to the palace, to plan how to bring Emilia, the only daughter of Fred, back home.
Safe, and sound.
A slightly shriek sound intrudes the pack house; though they all hear, no one gives a damn about it. They all resume their daily activities, training and getting trained while the white wolves at the gate cooperate and have a meeting in lieu of stopping rogues and bossy Alphas from intruding the pack again.
"You know anything about Vampires?" One of the security white wolves asks his other mate after the Alpha and Betas are gone. "Alpha Max might be a vampire."
"Why did you say that?" Jack, his co-security wolf, replies through questioning.
"Though he has a big pack house and fame, it's suspicious how he talks with uncommon boldness."
Jack sighs.
"Hold on. Are White Wolves stronger than Vampires are?" Wills suddenly asks him.
