Alpha Kai's Revenge

Karen was lost in her thought as she watered a garden which was more than four hectares of land. She was too exhausted from having worked all day that her hands were shaking from holding the water can.

Life had always been this miserable for her right from childhood, and her father, the Alpha of their pack had seen to it that she spent every day of her life in misery.

She was told that her mother had died while given birth to her and that was perhaps the reason the Alpha King hated her.... She had always wished she had died at birth than being faced with misery from the hatred her father harbor for her.

"Princess, Princess" Karen jolted away from her thought as she heard the soft voice called, she knew who it was and then scoffed at the name she was called as she ruminated over the name.

She was a princess and yet worked more than a slave, even the maids and other subjects were more worthy of sight than she was.

"How many times would I tell you to call me by my name" Karen faked a smile turning to face Rahinna, her entrusted maid which she had come to know as her only friend.

"I can't call you that, your highness, you still have the royal blood running in you" Rahinna gave a bow, then lifted her face to meet with her princess, her face fell immediately she saw how shaky Karen's hand was.

"You're just so stubborn" Karen whined knowing she had lost the argument. Despite the fact that she was a ridiculing material in the palace, Rahinna had never disrespected her and had always treated her like the princess she was, and she gave a light smile.

Karen smile faded away when she trailed after Rahinna's gaze, it was directed at the watering can she was holding and she understood that look.

"No, don't tell me you wants to help me out again, I can't let you risk it even if you insists a thousand times, not after the last time that you got whipped for helping me out the last time"

"But, my princess, no one is looking, I would just help for some few minutes and then we would get done with this task, so you can have your rest" Rahinna insisted.

Karen sighed out rolling her eyes, " I'm not giving it to you, you. should get going before you get caught with me, my father's dogs and spies can assume you were helping me out even though we both know that you weren't"

"Oh !" Rahinna snapped her fingers as if recalling something which drew Karen's full attention.

"What's that" Karen curiously asked.

"About your upcoming birthday" Rahinna hinted.

Karen birthday was just a few days away, but she had been so occupied with various thought to worry about it.

Since it was going to be her eighteenth birthday, her father for the first time in her past ages, decided to throw a feast for her, one of those big feast that those real princess do have to mark their coming of age.

She had been so excited when the news was unfolded to her, it had made her for once in her life been so happy for being a princess as it would make her long time dream come to pass.

From the news she had gathered from Rahinna, she was told that it was possible she met with her fated mate who might be an Alpha, a Prince or a Beta, and she had always looked forward to that day, so she can be free from her father's hate. Rahinna had also lectured her on how she'd felt when she spot her mate.

"What about that?" Karen asked as she smiled, fantatizing to her near freedom.

Rahinna looked around to be sure that they were actually both alone, as if confirming her affirmation, she then whispered softly with a low tone.

"They've been rumors around..." She paused, then glance around.

"What rumors?" Karen who was dying of curiosity queried, she noticed Rahinna wasn't comfortable spilling whatever she wanted to say there, so she grabbed her hand and dragged her as she ran with the small strength she had left to a secret spot of hers.

"Now spill, what rumors?" Karen was all eager to hear the gist in full now.

Rahinna who was still in doubt if she should go on, shrugged her shoulder determined to spill it out.

"I don't think the Alpha's intention is only to mark your coming of age" she folded her hand across her shoulder.

"Why did you say so? What have you heard?"

"This morning while I went to serve his majesty his tea since the royal maid was sick, I overheard him speaking with a Beta that the feast wasn't for the celebration of your birthday, but wanted to sell your away to other countries" Rahinna spilled out.

Karen shivered, not from cold, but from the scary revelation she had just heard. How could her father be this cruel? What wrong had she ever done to him?

" I'm so sorry, princess" Rahinna felt the pain of what her princess was feeling, she suddenly wished she had kept quiet and hadn't told her the truth.

"I just want to be alone" Karen said after a long minute of stretched silence.

"Are you going to be okay?'' Rahinna said with a tone of concern, she was feeling very reluctant to leave her princess alone.

"I would be fine" Karen replied trying to suppress the urge from breaking down in her sight, one thing she hated was being pitied on.

Rahinna reluctantly left and Karen broke down crying.

The chandeliers and wall decorations, both interior and exterior spoke mightily that a big feast was being held.

Different Alpha's from various pack were invited for the feast and some of them were already tropping in already.

Karen was seen in her room holding a gloomy face, she was uncomfortable from the numerous number of maids that was attending to her. She was being dressed and she wasn't used to this kind of fuzzy life.

For the first time in her life, she was given a princess bath and was getting dressed just like the way she should have been dressing.

"Bow to your Alpha!" A royal call was made as they announced that her father was present.

She was already dressed and the maids were already adorning her hair before the call came in, the maids including her quickly bowed as she felt his long stride walking closer.

"You all are dismissed away from this room, until I leave before you can resume!" She heard her father ferocious voice spoke.

She felt the maid scampering away with her head still bowed.

Her father walked up to her, Karen still kept her gaze directed downward, she hated maintaining eye contact with her father.

"You look just the way I expected you to look, you're just a beauty like her...!" She felt her father voice faltered as he held her chin squeezing it.

"Ouch!" She whimpered in pain and then her father withdrew his hands away from her.

"Today is going to be a great day and I wouldn't want to ruin it for you!" Her father stated, "look up!"

Karen looked at him, after Rihanna told her that shocking revelation about his intentions, she had always been scared of him. She had thought about running away but she felt she owed him for costing him her mother's absence in his life, so she had choose to sacrifice herself and get sold out.

"For the first time in your life, you're going to make me proud, Don't misbehave!'' he warned and then patted her head gently when she nodded wilfully to his command.

After he had gotten his response, he left her and few seconds the maids scurried back to their position resuming with their work.

The maids were done with their work of adornment and Karen was left with Rahinna to accompany her to the feast ground.

As they walked Rahinna did her best in redirecting her step since Karen wasn't used to getting dressed in that way.

As they walked Karen observed a certain protuding figure advancing towards them, somehow she felt herself attracted to the figure, she wished he could get any closer so she could take in his full figure.

Rahinna quickly excused herself while she was battling with the manly figure in her head, that she needed to use the restroom and before she could say a word, Rahinna dashed off leaving her all alone.

And just like he was listening to her heart request, he started walking towards her direction. Karen suddenly slowed down her pace as she gazed fully at the now advancing male. With each step he took, it makes her tummy do this flip flop.

She wasn't sure if he was an Alpha or Beta or whatever, but for one thing she knew for sure was that the wolf inside of her was craving for this man.

There was something about his aura that speaks more than any male. She'd wasn't used to staring into someone's eyes, but she decided to stake it all and peered into the guy eyes that makes her stomach flips.

As she stared straight into his eyes, she'd almost gasped out loud as her eyes met with the most fascinating turquoise eyes she'd had ever seen.

She felt herself enchanted into his magic world and never for once did she wish to tear her eyes away from his.

If lost was a word, then she was definitely lost cause she couldn't fathom what was going on, and what was so special around this strange guy that she couldn't tear her eyes off him. They were many males around the palace, her father guards, Beta's and others subject, but yet she hadn't felt this way amongst any of them.

Just like the strange thing was also happening to the male, she felt him stopped right at her front, and with her eyes still holding his, she noticed the look of satisfaction as though he had finally seen a long searched item on his face, and she wondered why he had that look.

"Mate!" She suddenly heard the long awaited word, 'Did she just heard correctly, mate?' she pondered, doubting her ears as she heard his deep commanding voice in her ears.

How could she be this daft? She thought as she recalled the little time Rahinna had lectured her about the feeling she would get when she meets with her mate.

She couldn't believe that this fine young man was her mate, she had found her mate! Her dream was going to come to pass, leaving the palace with her mate, her father wasn't going to sell her off again. Her heart was beating so loudly now as many thoughts was running through her head.

"Princess, princess!" Rahinna called out, making Karen to snap out from her thought.

Karen turned back, she suddenly wished Rahinna hadn't showed up at a moment like this.

When Rahinna got to where she stood, she gave Karen a strange look, she'd was petrified seeing her with a complete stranger.

Karen took the hint for her to do some introduction, " Rahinna meet.." she trailed off as her cheeks heated up, she realized she didn't know his name and therefore she have to relate to him as the only word she could actually think of. "Meet my mate!" She forced herself to say, she felt her cheeks heating up more than before.

"And..." Before she could continue, she was halted by him.

"Stop!" His face was now wearing a look of disgust, those tender looking gaze he had stared at her was now gone and was replaced by a gruesome look. Why the sudden change she thought to herself?

"I, Alpha Kai of the Lycan pack reject you as my mate!" Karen unexpectedly heard those words of rejection shattering down her soul, breaking her heart into pieces. Worst of all was the hatred his eyes bore as he peered straightly into hers and said those words of rejection. She stood there in her own agony as she watched the handsome young man that she had been attracted to few minutes ago turned his shoulder on her and Walked away.

Why was life this cruel to her? Rejected and always maltreated by her own father who was an Alpha of the Cresent pack, she had always looked forward to her Mate loving her, and now a second rejection?

Even though she was heart broken, she was eager to know the reason for her rejection.

"Why?" Her voice shooked as she shouted out to him. She'd thought he would walk away without a word, but he stopped on his track and turned to her.

"Because I have a fiance!" He stated and then walked away codly.

Karen stared rightly after his shadow till it was no longer in view, then she broke down crying, without caring for the fact that she was going to ruin her make up and that wasn't going to please her father.

"Pr.. Princess !" Rahinna called, she was worried for her.

"I want to be left alone!" Karen muttered with tears flowing from her face, she was used to crying alone without no one to comfort her.

As Rahinna left her, she broke down crying her heart out, she damned the consequences of being caught by her father and let herself cried out.

She was heartbroken, shattered beyond measure and the worst of all was that there was no one to comfort her.

Why is she this ill fated? She had bear to live with the hatred her father had for her hoping that one day she'd have a mate who would love her, How she had counted her eggs and was waiting for them to hatch, but a second rejection by her mate?

She suddenly heard an angry growl inside of her, she was startled as she paid rapt attentions to listen to the voice again, and suprisingly she heard the growl again.

"Kiara?" She called out disbelievingly, she'd had never believed that her wolf, Kiara would be also devastated like she was to express her anger.

"You don't want to get on my bad side today, do you? " It was her father's commanding voice that Jolted her away from her thought.

"I... I " Karen stuttered, cleaning her face off hurriedly.

"Is that how you appreciate me for throwing such a feast for you, Ingrate?" She could tell that her father was very angry and was battling with the urge of hitting her because some of his guest was already trooping in.

"You really have the guts to want to shame me amongst this crowd. Now, you would cheer up and put on a cheerful face in order to please these Noble men or else I would have you locked up in the dungeon where you were meant to be!" Her father threatened and then walked away leaving her flabbergasted and transfixed to that same spot.

Karen blinked her eyes few minutes away from when her father left her transfixed to that spot, Her life was in her father's hands and therefore she had no option than to oblige to her father's command.

She robbed off the tears in her face and smear some powder to brighten her face, she put on a faked smile and then started walking to the main floor of where the grand feast would be held.

Her father must be gullible if he thinks she was going to let herself be sold at the auction like a garbage, she had the right to her life and she was done with him planning everything for her, treating her like a trash when she was actually his biological daughter, she was done with everything and needed to experience a new life, a life she wishes would worth more than her present miserable life.

She had it all planned, She would escape from the feast and away from the palace to any nearby town, even though she hadn't figure out where she'd be going, she was determined to leave the palace.

She had to take this bold step for once in her life, Most now that she's aware that her destined mate have a fiancee and there was no way he'd be claiming her as his mate, she have to learn to live for herself.

Just within the blink of an eye, the feast hall was already crowded with different people, different noble men and females. Karen would have been happy for being the celebrant of the feast, but she cared less because of what was going on around her.

The feast started, but she was absent minded and was lost in her thought thinking of how to move on with her escape plan.

She'd was still lost in her thoughts when she heard her father standing in the big podium and was beckoning on her to stop forward.

She stood up, to his command, that was when she discovered that all eyes was fixed on her.

She wasn't used to getting much attention and she suddenly started feeling discomfortable.

Karen braced up herself as she started walking to the podium where her father stood, she ignored the stares she was getting and continued walking until she got to where her father was.

She gave a bow to her father and then he encouraged her to stand by him.

Her father made a formal introduction to the crowd, introducing her as his only daughter and child. Karen scoffed once she heard him referred to her as his only daughter, the last time she checked, never for once had she recalled being treated as his daughter. He made her go laborious work meant for the males of their pack and other heavy tasks and still punish her at every attempt he gets for getting a task failed or not done properly. He whips her at every chances he gets and the scar at her back skin was a living testimony of her father's hatred for her. No matter how hard she tried to please him, he always find one fault or the other and would use that opportunity to get her whipped, and now he had the guts to call her his daughter when he hadn't been much of a father.

Karen smiled to the crowd as she waved at them, while they cheer at her, from the look her father was giving her, she could tell that he was warning her not to do anything stupid but impress him.

A guard walked up to her and whispered in her ear that she had to dance for the noble, she knew it was a ploy by her father in order for him to begin his auction.

Music was played and Karen was confused on how she would Mastermind her escape plan, while in her thought, she started dancing giving herself to music, she was very good at dancing and she start moving to the tune of the beat.

Suddenly, all the lights went off making a booking noise amongst the crowd, Karen wondered what had happened, she'd thought it was a power supply oitage and was already thinking about using that moment to flee, but when she saw her father drew out his sword and there was chaos everywhere, she knew it wasn't a better option as she might get killed.

Before she could catch in what was happening next, she found herself being blindfolded by someone and all she could hear was screams before she passed out.

The rays of light from a particular source shone on Karen's face, she stretched her body lazily and popped her heavy eye lid open, which she quickly closed due to the reflection of light in her eyes, she turned her eyes away from that angle and faced a less reflected angle.

Her body hurt a bit, so also was her body, she was feeling as though she had just finished a laborious work.

Her eyes scanned around her environment, that was when it dawned on her that she was in a strange place which was more like a dungeon, she was in a dungeon?

What was she doing there? Her body froze as she suddenly recalled being blindfolded and taken away by someone from her birthday feast.

Her palm turned sweaty as her cheek turned pale white, she had been kidnapped! The tremor shooked her as she took the courage and walked to the door of the dungeon to see if she'd see her captor.

As she walked to the door, her eyes narrowed to the heavy chain that was used to lock the door of the dungeon, she poked out her head from the iron door and found two guards at the entrance.

She cleared her throat trying to get their attention, and then they turned to face her relief washing over their faces.

A more taller one quickly walked away as though he was going to make a report, she'd had wanted to ask the other about where she was but she decided to wait for the other guard to come back.

Heartbeats later, a royal call was made and then she realized she had been kidnapped by the Alpha King of another Pack perhaps.

She'd was curious to know why she was kidnapped and who had her kidnapped.

In her anticipation, she forgot to stand up and obey the royal call.

The door to the dungeon went open, Karen was still sitting in the spot she had sat earlier, she immediately glance at the visitor she was having.

Her eyes took in that familiar figure whose face was covered from the Ray of the sunlight, she knew she had seen that figure somewhere, but she couldn't recall where she had seen it.

As the figure Walked closer, even with the strides he took, Karen could recall such footstep, but the issue was that she couldn't recall who it'd be.

Karen could feel her heart racing heavily, her body had already heated up and she wondered why she was this scared just by his walking step, she had gone threw several whip lashing but she hadn't for once been this scared.

"You're finally awake!" She heard that domineering commanding voice, familiar,. But where?

His figure finally came to her view as he stopped at her front, she shifted backward in shock as she gasped, her eyes bulging out.

"You?" She found the word escaping from her lips unexpectedly as she gaze disbelievingly at the figure.

"Who were you expecting?" His voice came out mocking, as his face which she described as handsome smirked devilishly giving him a Savage look.

"I'm still in doubt that you can do this to me, why would you have me kidnapped and in a dungeon? I thought that I was your Fated Mate" Karen said devastingly.

"You're not my Mate, but my worst enemy!" He shouted, his angry voice booming all over the room as it shooked her and send cold shivers running down her spine, if she had always described her father voice as being too strict, his way more than her father's.

Karen was dumbfounded, she wonderered what was it that she had done that had made him hated her that much.

"W-why am I your enemy? " She found herself asking out of the blues, her body was still shaking with fear, and she wondered where she had the courage to speak up.

A pause as the room suddenly went quiet, Karen was curious to know how she ended up as his worst enemy when she hadn't by chance met him or offended him in anyway aside from that day. He'd was the one that had offended her by picking his fiancee over her, his destined mate.

She observed his features and noticed that he was battling with keeping his emotion in check.

Karen wondered what it was that he wanted to say that was this painful for him to say, from how gravely his face had became, Karen could tell that he was battling with some dark past.

"Your father... " He finally spoke up In a voice as deep as the ocean and then paused, grinding his teeth together, his Jaw clenched as his muscle twitched.

Even from his princely robe, Karen could tell that he had a well muscled body. She imagined how it'd look likes and feel, and for some odd reasons she found herself craving to run her hands through it.

"Your father, Killed my parents and made me an orphan at a young age" Karen gasped once he had spilled out the reason why she was his enemy, she'd was batting with believing him in her head, she knew her father to be ruthless, but not to the point of killing his parents.

"I doubt that, You know nothing about my father, You must be mistaken! " she defended, narrowing her gaze to meet with his as her eye searched for some truth in what he'd had just voiced out.

Alpha Kai scoffed, he walked closer to where she sat, an action which made Karen shifted back, but he kept coming closer till her back rested against a hard suface, and then she knew that she couldn't escape him again as she rested her head against the wall preparing her mind against the worst.

Alpha Kai bent his face closer to her, his wolf was tugging at him that he should stop threatening their mate, but he didn't give a damn. After he had rejected her in their pack, his wolf had gone silent on him blaming him for choosing his fiancee over his mate. Heaven knows that it wasn't his intention at first, infact he'd had been so happy when he had spotted, he had every plan of marking her and taking her to his pack, not until he discovered that she was his enemy daughter then he had to reject her ignoring the several pleas of his wolf. Hr can't take a murderer's daughter as his mate! Even though his wolf wasn't pleased with him, he was ready to get through any kind of punishment from his wolf than marking her! Cold revenge runs through his vein and be wouldn't stop until he had gotten his revenge in it's highest peak, killing her father can't justify the pain he went through, he would make his offspring suffer as much as be did. That was a vow he had made while he was growing up.

"Seems daddy didn't tell his little angel about his dirty deed" he smirked and then pulled some lock of hairs that had fallen across his face backward, an action that caught Karen interest as she became fully concentrated in observing his every features than musing over his words.

She wondered how someone could be this dangerously handsome like he was, she'd was obsessed with staring at his eyes and for some moment, she could swear that she saw him looked at her tenderly just the same way he had done earlier that day at her pack, his savage look was gone and what was written bodly on his face was a man that was deeply attracted to his mate and couldn't wait to claim her.

But suddenly he pulled back and his face was replaced back with his savage look, Karen wished he could just look at her that way for some time longer.

"Bring them in! " he commanded which made Karen wondered who he'd was bringing in.

In a blink of a second, she saw her father confidants being brought inside, they were two in number.

Alpha Kai commanded them to testify about her father's dirty deed years ago, and they'd affirm that it was true, they even had the guts to lie against her that she was just as vicious as her father when she was being treated as nothing more but a slave in her own father's pack.

"I'm not vicious! Don't you dare lie against me! Have you forgotten how I get maltreated, whipped and punished for some crime? And you dare lie against me? " Karen defended herself, she had to learn to stand up for herself. She watched as guilt appeared in their faces.

"If you're making up this to earn my pity, then I must have you know that you are just a pathetic liar like your father! " Alpha Kai spat down at her, he didn't believe any of her story.

"It's a bad luck that I have been given a vicious mate as you by the moon goddess! " the word burn through Karen's heart.

However, she pleaded with him crying that she had nothing to do about her Father's heinous crime, but he paid deaf ears on her pleas, he dismissed the confidants and called for his Beta.

Alpha Kai looked down at her with disdain, he couldn't believe he had been attracted to someone as vicious as she was before, he thought her to be as heartless as her father and he swore to treat her even more worse than a slave.

He beckoned on his Beta, it was time he showed her the suprise package her father presented to him years ago, and just as he expected his Beta brought in the box and he ordered for her to open the box, while he smirked.

Karen obeyed as she fumbled with the box wondering what was inside that he'd had her ordered to open it. As the box went open Karen's scream pierced through the dungeon reveberating back in her ears.

Her body shivered so badly as her face turned pale white.
