Chapter 1 Unplanned Mate

Third Person Pov

"Alpha, there seems to be a breach," Beta Tobias announced, barging into Alpha Gregory's office, his face etched with concern.

The heavy oak door slammed against the wall, sending a reverberating thud through the room.

Gregory didn't look up from his paperwork, his brow furrowing as he continued to write. "How serious is the threat?" he asked, his voice calm but edged with an unmistakable authority. The flicker of a candlelight illuminated his chiseled features, highlighting the tension in his jaw.

"It's an omega, Alpha." Tobias's voice carried a trace of frustration, as if the words alone should have been enough to convey the gravity of the situation.

"An omega?" Gregory says, finally looking up, his eyes meeting Tobias's with a mix of disbelief and irritation. "Are you telling me that you, my Beta, can't handle a simple omega?" He leaned back in his chair, the leather creaking under his weight. Tobias had been his closest friend since childhood, someone who understood the nuances of his temper and still stood by him.

"No, Alpha," Tobias replied, trying to keep his tone steady. "But this omega has crossed the border and might be hiding somewhere within the pack's territory. Its scent is elusive, and the Beta warriors are struggling to identify it. We have no clue about its intentions, which is why I came directly to you."

Gregory's eyes narrowed into slits. "So, you're telling me the rogue is already within the pack, and I'm just hearing about it now?"

Tobias took a deep breath. "I've been trying to mind-link you, but you shut us all out. We need your help to handle this situation."

Gregory exhaled sharply, his temper barely restrained. "Alright. I'll mind-link the entire pack to assemble at the pack house, particularly the women and children. I'll take on the task of searching for this rogue myself. Tobias, I want you to guard the pack house gate. No one leaves until we locate this intruder. Is that understood?"

"Yes, Alpha. I will make sure of it," Tobias replied, nodding firmly before turning on his heel and heading out of the office.

Gregory knew he could be harsh, but he trusted Tobias more than anyone. His friend's loyalty and ability to endure his outbursts were unmatched.

Once Tobias left, Gregory closed his eyes to center himself, feeling the weight of responsibility settling on his shoulders. When he opened them again, his deep gold-brown eyes had shifted to a fierce, glowing red. He walked to the window, the chill of the night air brushing against his face as he let out three powerful howls. The sounds echoed through the forest, a call to all pack members to gather at the pack house immediately.

With the signal sent, Gregory strode purposefully out of his office, down the grand staircase, and outside towards the pack members who had already begun to assemble.

"Alpha," they greeted him in unison, their voices tinged with a mixture of respect and concern. He acknowledged them with a curt nod, his gaze scanning their faces.

"Are you heading out now, Alpha?" Tobias asked, stepping forward with a concerned expression.

Gregory nodded in response. "Yes."

"Please, take care of yourself. The pack relies on you," Tobias said earnestly, placing a hand on Gregory's shoulder.

Gregory met Tobias's gaze, a rare smile crossing his face. He returned the gesture with a reassuring pat on the back. "I will, Tobias. Keep the pack safe. I'll deal with this intruder."

With a final nod, Gregory dashed out of the gate, shifting seamlessly into a powerful brown wolf. The transformation was swift and smooth, his muscles rippling beneath his fur. As he ran, the night air was filled with the sounds of the pack members hurrying to the pack house. A few tried to halt him, but he ignored their calls, knowing he would make amends once the rogue was dealt with.

Upon reaching the pack border, Gregory's heightened senses were overwhelmed by a strange and intoxicating blend of floral and strawberry scents. The aroma was both alluring and unsettling, invoking a deep, unfamiliar longing within him.

"Alpha, we've pinpointed the area where the intruder might be hiding," one of the pack warriors said, breaking into his thoughts.

Gregory's ears perked up, focusing on the warrior's words. "Lead the way. I need to resolve this swiftly." His mind raced with questions. What kind of omega would dare to trespass on his land? He was determined to show this intruder why his pack was the most feared in the region.

"This is the location, Alpha," Eve, the leader of the pack warriors, said, gesturing towards an old, dilapidated cottage nestled in the trees. The structure seemed to blend into the night, its windows darkened and walls covered in creeping ivy. "With your permission, we will proceed."

"No, Eve. I will handle this personally," Gregory said, stepping forward and shifting back into his human form. He stood naked in the moonlight, his muscular frame illuminated by the soft glow. It was a common sight for the warriors, who were accustomed to seeing their Alpha in this state.

"Alpha you shouldn't..." Eve began, trying to interject, but Gregory cut her off with a low, menacing growl.

"Are you questioning my authority, Eve? You know better than to try and stop me," he growled in his Alpha voice, causing all pack members, including Eve, to drop to the floor in submission. The intensity of his voice echoed through the clearing, reinforcing his dominance.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. That was not my intention," Eve said, her voice trembling as she lowered her head in respect.

Ignoring her, Gregory's attention was fixed on the cottage entrance, where the intoxicating scent was strongest. It had stirred emotions in him that he had never experienced in his twenty-two years as Alpha. His determination to find the rogue was fueled by an unsettling combination of curiosity and frustration.

He pushed open the creaky door and stepped inside. The scent of flowers and strawberries, mingled with an undercurrent of fear, nearly overwhelmed him. The interior was shrouded in darkness, with dust motes dancing in the faint moonlight that filtered through the grimy windows.

"Whoever you are, step out now and accept mercy," Gregory's voice resonated through the room, laced with a dangerous edge. "If I have to find you myself, I will not hesitate to tear you apart."

As he moved through the cottage, the scent grew stronger, leading him to a door at the back. He stopped and issued a final warning. "Come out now, or face the consequences."

The intruder remained hidden, and Gregory's patience finally snapped. With a powerful kick, he burst open the door and stepped into a cluttered room. His eyes swept the room, taking in the scattered furniture and the thick layer of dust that coated everything.

He approached the wardrobe, his anger boiling over. With a swift motion, he yanked the doors open, revealing a figure huddled inside. The pale skin of the omega stood out starkly against the darkness. The sight of the omega's deep blue eyes, wide with fear, sent a jolt through Gregory.

And his wolf growled in recognition. "Mate," it howled as Gregory sank to his knees, overwhelmed by a wave of unexpected emotions.

Chapter 2 Unacceptance

Gregory's Pov

No, how could I meet my mate after so many years, only to discover I am mated to an omega, an omega? He thought angrily as he pushed away all the files on his office table.

The papers scattered across the floor, some fluttering as they fell.

His frustration turned into a storm of papers, emotions, and shattered expectations.

"I asked for a real mate, and you gave me a burden.

What wrong have I ever committed, huh? Tell me!" Gregory cried out, his voice echoing in the empty office, questioning the Moon Goddess's choice of mate for him.

The room felt too small, suffocating under the weight of his discontent.

Ever since he was eighteen, Gregory had waited patiently for his mate, constantly feeling a pang of sadness whenever a pack member came to register their bond.

Each union felt like a taunt, a reminder of the bond he longed for. Now, at forty-one, the Moon Goddess finally decided to grace him with a mate-a weakling of an omega.

It felt as if his patience and loyalty had been rewarded with a cruel joke.

"Argh, this is impossible! I can't do this. It was better when I had no mate.

I waited for years and had finally come to terms with not having one, but you just had to humiliate me by giving me this burden of a mate," Gregory said, referring to the Moon Goddess.

"I can't accept this. I really can't take that thing as my mate," Gregory muttered to himself, pushing back the hair sticking to his sweaty forehead.

"Alpha, may I come in?" Tobias's voice came from the other side of the door, breaking into Gregory's thoughts.

Gregory took a deep breath, trying to compose himself, and then responded, "No, wait a minute."

He quickly sat back down on his chair and wiped his face, trying to erase any trace of the tears that had escaped. He didn't want Tobias to see him like this, vulnerable and exposed.

"Come in," Gregory finally said, and Tobias opened the door and stepped into the office with a bright smile, oblivious to the storm brewing within Gregory.

"Congratulations, Alpha," Tobias said enthusiastically. "I heard you found your mate. I am so happy for you."

The words hit Gregory like a physical blow. "What is there to be happy about?" he snapped, his voice laden with bitterness.

"Tell me, Tobias, why are you congratulating me? On what grounds? Or are you trying to mock me?"

Tobias's smile faltered for a moment, his brow furrowing with concern.

"Stop that, Gregory. You know I wouldn't mock you. If I had a problem with you, I'd come straight to you and tell you.

Besides, what is there not to congratulate you about? You finally found your mate, and instead of being happy, you're acting like a beast.

Just look at your office," Tobias said, gesturing at the mess around them. His tone was firm but carried a trace of warmth, a reflection of their long-standing friendship.

"Is that what you think this is about? My office?" Gregory growled, frustration bubbling up inside him.

"This isn't about the office, Tobias. This is about the Moon Goddess's decision.

After all these years, she gives me a mate who's an omega-someone weak and unworthy. What's there to celebrate?"

Tobias's eyes widened, and he took a step closer to Gregory, his expression a mix of pity and exasperation.

"Gregory, you're letting your anger cloud your judgment. The Moon Goddess has her reasons, even if we don't understand them.

Your mate might be an omega, but that doesn't make them any less deserving. You need to give it a chance."

"Give it a chance?" Gregory echoed, his voice rising. "How am I supposed to give it a chance when I feel like my destiny has been mocked? You don't understand, Tobias.

You've never been in my position, waiting and hoping for something that feels like it's slipping away."

Tobias shook his head, disappointment evident in his eyes. "Gregory, I've always known you to be strong, fair, and capable of seeing beyond your immediate frustrations.

If you can't see past this right now, then maybe you need to take some time to reflect. You know where to find me when you're ready to talk."

Tobias walked up to Gregory and, with a sudden movement, used his middle finger to tap Gregory's chest lightly a reminder of their deep bond and his frustration with Gregory's current behavior.

Gregory's wolf growled softly, reacting to the intrusion on his personal space.

"I'm done with you for now, Gregory," Tobias said, his voice firm but not unkind.

"When you're ready to face this situation with the maturity and wisdom I know you possess, I'll be here to support you. But right now, you need to sort yourself out."

With that, Tobias turned and headed towards the door.

He paused briefly, looking back with a mix of sadness and resolve, before stepping out of the office and slamming the door behind him.

The finality of the slam echoed in the now-silent room, amplifying the solitude Gregory felt.

Gregory sat in the silence, while in deep thought.

When Tobias left, Gregory sat in silence, as he thought about the events of today.

How could this be possible? He, an Alpha known for leading one of the strongest packs, now faced with an omega mate?

It felt like a cruel twist of fate. His pack was renowned for its strength, so much so that other packs often came to him, seeking alliances, especially in times of war. They needed his power, his leadership.

He had always been well-respected, his authority unquestioned. Other pack leaders he knew, leaders of strong packs, had powerful and formidable mates.

But now, he was bound to a weak omega. Why him? What had he done to deserve this?

How could the Moon Goddess see this as my destiny?"

"The worst part of it all was that this omega wasn't even a dominant one but a submissive," Gregory thought bitterly, "so there was a high chance he wouldn't have an alpha offspring."

The very thought made his anger rise like a smoldering flame, and he slammed his hands on his desk.

"No, I will not allow this. I will not accept a weak mate," Never.

Chapter 3 Wedding

Emma's Pov

"Where am I?" Emma asked softly, her voice barely more than a whisper. Her eyes fixed on the woman with piercing green eyes who regarded her with a faint smile.

"Oh, you are awake," the woman replied, her tone light yet inscrutable. Emma's heart raced as confusion churned within her.

She had expected to be dead or imprisoned, given that crossing the TMN pack's borders was usually a death sentence, but here she was on a soft bed.

Emma's stomach tightened in fear as different scenarios crossed her mind. What if they were planning to use her as a sex machine, just like her father had done to her? The very thought made her stomach turn.

She hadn't crossed the borders on purpose. Days of wandering, weak from hunger, had made her desperate. When she had spotted some ripe bananas, a flicker of hope had ignited. She had planned to grab the bananas quickly and continue her escape.

But as soon as she entered the area, she saw the pack warriors closing in. Panic exploded in her chest, propelling her to run, the bananas slipping from her hands. In her frantic dash, she had stumbled into the old cottage, hoping its shadows would hide her.

The cottage had been stifling, filled with the stale scent of dust and old wood. She had huddled in the corner of a worn-out wardrobe, her breath coming in ragged gasps. Her heart had thundered in her chest, each beat resonating in her ears.

Every creak and murmur from outside had made her flinch. The Alpha's voice, commanding and authoritative, had caused her to shiver uncontrollably. The footsteps had grown louder, each step in sync with her pounding heart. She could barely make out the words, her hearing impaired by fear.

Emma's thoughts raced. Her gaze darted around the room, taking in the sparse furnishings and the gentle glow of the lamp. The woman's unyielding stare felt like a weight pressing down on her.

Emma's fingers twitched nervously, and she clenched and unclenched her fists in her lap. Her throat was dry, and she swallowed hard, trying to calm the tremors in her voice. "Why am I here?" she finally asked, her voice cracking slightly.

The woman's smile widened, her eyes holding an unreadable glimmer. "I am Luna Essa of the TMN pack-or should I say, ex-Luna, since you, my dear, are about to take over," she said.

Emma stared at her in disbelief, her eyes wide with confusion.

"I don't understand what you are saying, ma'am. I know I committed a grave sin by crossing your border, but I assure you, I had no malicious intent. I was just hungry and saw some bananas. I only wanted to take a little and leave so please stop with this mocking words about me been mate with an Alpha," Emma said, her lips trembling as she looked at the woman with pleading eyes.

"Oh dear, what don't you understand? Is it the fact that you are to be the next Luna of the TMN pack, or something else?" the woman asked.

"Yes," Emma stammered in reply, her expression lost and confused.

The woman looked at her thoughtfully. "Well then, let me explain further," she said. "I am the mother of Gregory, the Alpha who discovered you after you crossed the pack borders without permission."

As soon as Emma heard the name, her heart pounded furiously. Alpha Gregory was the most feared name among the rogues she had met while running away from her abusive father.

The way they had always warned her not to go near his pack ringed in her ears but she had ignored their warnings and went straight into the lion's den all because of a few piece of banana now look at what it had caused her.

The memory of the Alpha piercing green eyes as he discovered her hiding in the wardrobe flooded back. She had come face-to-face with him, his presence overwhelming and terrifying which made her faint at that time.

Her entire body trembled uncontrollably as she could still feel the intensity of his gaze, the way it had made her feel utterly exposed and vulnerable. Her knees felt weak, and a cold sweat broke out on her forehead.

"I remember," Emma whispered, her voice shaking. "He found me... in the wardrobe."

Luna Essa nodded, her expression serious. "Yes, Gregory found you. And that discovery has changed everything."

Emma's mind raced with conflicting emotions. On one hand, she felt a glimmer of hope-an Alpha could protect her, shield her from the dangers she had faced alone for so long. But then, a wave of doubt washed over her. "Will he actually accept me as his mate?" she asked, her voice barely audible. "I'm a rogue."

Luna Essa's expression softened. "My dear, be reassured," she said gently. "I know my son, and Gregory would never make a decision that would harm his pack. The Moon Goddess has chosen you as the next Luna, and she has her reasons. I trust my son's judgment completely." I just need to trust and believe in the power of fate.

Emma took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "I still don't understand everything, but I'll try," she said, her voice wavering.

"That's all I ask," Luna Essa replied, her smile warm and reassuring. "We'll take this one step at a time, together."

"Okay," Emma finally replied, this time with a smile as the way the woman spoke like her in the way her mother mother would always try to reassure her.

The memory of her mother made her thoughts drift back to the memories of her childhood and the time she was with her father.

The thought of her mother brought tears to her eyes as she recalled how much better her life had been when she was alive. Emma was the daughter of Alpha Evan from the Whispery pack.

"During pregnancy, Emma's father, had lavished love and attention on her mother, hoping for an Alpha son. But when Emma arrived, declared an omega, his love evaporated like mist in the sun."

Growing up, Emma had never felt her father's love. He was rarely home, and when he was, he barely acknowledged her existence. Anytime she saw him, his mood would darken as soon as he noticed her.

She remembered running to him, arms outstretched for a hug, only to be pushed aside or ignored entirely.

When her mom was still alive, she had done her best to protect Emma from her father.

But after her mother died, he became a beast and showed his real colours, forcing her to work as a sex slave for any man who wanted her.

She remembered the nightmares of being bound and helpless, subjected to the whims of multiple men, still lingered in her mind, making her skin crawl.

She remembered the sound of her father's belt buckle whenever he wanted to punish her for resisting any of the men.

The worst of them was when she had discovered she was pregnant and had happily told her father, but he only beat her mercilessly and gave her a drug that made her bleed uncontrollably.

She had cried that very night from the intense pain both from the stabbing pain in her abdomen and also the pain of loosing her child.

The memories of all she had been through brought more tears to her eyes. She took a deep breath and used her fingers to wipe away the tears that threatened to fall.

Turning to look at the woman who claimed to be her mate's mother Emma asked,"So, what am I supposed to do now?"

"Luna Essa's eyes crinkled at the corners as she reached out to pat Emma's hand.

"Well, we are going to plan a wedding, your wedding."
