Chapter 1 The meeting

(Gabriel)

" Gabriel, are you listening to me?" My father's booming voice echoes through the office where he called me earlier to have a meeting. I was not in the best mood, and he should know better than to mess with me when I'm angry." Gabriel, are you listening to me?" My father's booming voice echoes through the office where he called me earlier to have a meeting. I was not in the best mood, and he should know better than to mess with me when I'm angry.

"Why are you wasting my time with useless shit, Dad!?" I shouted, but that got my father angrier than he was before.

"You know better than to go against my orders, Gabriel! I want you to close down that godforsaken club. You have to move back home, so you can take over your responsibility as the Alpha of this pack!" He shouted, getting in my face and right as I was about to punch him, my mom and brother walked in.

"What's going on here?" Mom asked, and I looked over at her and sighed.

"Mom, you need to control your husband and tell him to leave me alone, You guys have another son he can take over as Alpha. I don't want that title." I said while stubbornly folding my arms. "Gabe, as much as I want to, you know I have other priorities," my identical twin brother Nashton said, and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Other priorities? Finding your mate is not a priority! You should be able to take over and not try to chase some pussy you know nothing of!" I shouted and Nashton decided to punch me. We started fighting and Dad had to call our Beta Aaron and Gamma Elliot to help stop us from tearing the office apart, which they succeeded in doing. After we calmed down a bit, Dad looked at me and decided to use his Alpha tone on me to get me to submit, but he should know that that shit doesn't work on me anymore.

"Gabriel Carson Houston, you are to move back home immediately and take over, or I will have no choice but to destroy that club you are always running off to!" I shook my head and began to leave, but stopped and turned to look at him.

"I won't move back home, so there's no use in trying to get me to. I am the king of this town, with or without a Pack. I, Gabriel Houston, rejected the title of Alpha for the Stone King Pack." With that, I left everyone there with their mouths open as I walked out of the Pack house and into the world that I've come to know and love. While getting on my motorcycle and about to ride off, Dad sent me a mind link and I sighed, feeling frustrated because he wouldn't leave me alone.

'You can't reject being an Alpha to this Pack! That's nonsense! You and your brother are meant to be Alphas and if you so much as disappear from your duty again, I will personally make sure my guards get you back here whether you like it or not!' Dad screamed, and I growled at the way he was acting, as if he expected me to just bend to his will. I was so mad at them to think that I would give up the one thing I liked the most for some stupid Pack, no matter if it was my rightful birthplace.

'Shush Dad. Why don't we make a truce then, uhh? Let me keep my club, and I'll try my best to be the Alpha of the Pack whenever I can.' I said, making him sigh.

'Fair enough. Ok, you can keep your club, but you have to be here as much as possible and for your punishment, you will be the only one attending the upcoming meetings." Dad said, and I narrowed my eyes.

'Dad, I'm almost thirty. When will you learn that I don't take orders from anyone, not even you?' I hissed and closed the link. I'm twenty-nine, for heaven's sake! My birthday is a couple of weeks from now. I moved out of the Pack house and into my own so that I could be away from my overbearing father, but regardless of what he just seems to always have some way to get me to go back there when I need my space. Nashton was like a baby, always listening to what our parents said and never disobeying them, or complaining. I, on the other hand, was a rebel, I went against the rules of my parents and did things my way. My father is the current Alpha and is looking to retire soon. As always, the crown will be passed down to his children, but Nashton came up with some lame excuse about needing to settle down first before he can think about his Alpha duties and Dad never argued with that. I hated the entire thing, so that's why I left. I left, so I could be responsible for my life and not of others. Even though it was my duty to the Pack, I just couldn't deal with all that shit, so moving away from them seems to be the better excuse, but Dad was relentless and there was no stopping him when he wanted something, I guess that's where I got it from.

'You're almost thirty but yet, you act like a pup. Always running off and getting into more trouble than a rebellious teenager. Look at the number of tattoos you have on your body, news flash, they are ugly. Just like your personality.' OK, I had to admit that that was funny. He's also against tattoos and my bike, don't get me started on how he would react whenever he catches me smoking. The damn old man nearly had a heart attack last time.

'Goodbye, Dad, I'll talk to you later.' I closed the link and started my bike, then rode towards my club. At least he's not going to argue with me any more about my club, and that's all that matters. Hopefully, I made the right decision because I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for killing my entire family. Not that I've thought about it, but it's getting there.

Chapter 2 Lost

(Leah)

Fuck! Fuck it all and damn everyone to hell. I can't believe that I'm lost, I should have listened to my best friend Olivia, but I didn't. I wanted to hurry and leave, so I chose to drive at one in the morning. It's Sunday now, so you know that the road is deserted. I jumped when I heard a whistling sound, only to calm down after I figured out that it was the wind. Ugh. I took up my phone and saw that the battery was dead and groaned. Dropping my head on the steering wheel, I tried to figure out what I'm going to do. That's why you should never rely on GPS, that thing will send you straight to hell, and you'd never see it coming. OK, I'm calm. I can do this, I just need to figure out what to do from here. It's that easy, right? I mean, it's not like Freddie Krueger or Jason would attack me right now, or predator. Damn, if I'm going to sit here and let the clown in the movie IT come and take my life. I'm only twenty-six years old, I have a lot to live for. With that in my mind, I did the only thing I can do, I started to freak out more. My heart nearly gave out when I heard a tap on the window, my soul left my body, and I was frozen from fear. I took a deep breath and turned around, almost giving myself a whiplash, but then I noticed that it was an elderly lady and breathed a sigh of relief. I rolled the window halfway down, just in case this lady turned out to be Dracula in disguise.

"Hi, I'm Gloria. I was passing by and saw you here. Was wondering if you needed help?" Gloria asked. I furrowed my brows, wondering whether I should trust her or not. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?

"I'm traveling from Ohio to my friend's house here in Michigan when I got lost. I don't even know why I chose to leave in the middle of the night, but I have to get to this Stone King area or some bullshit like that." I said, making Gloria laugh before replying.

"It happens sporadically. Stone King is located deeper in the forest area. I am from there, so if you like, I could guide you." I guess I had no other choice but to accept her offer, I can't just sit here and wait to become the next victim, so I'll take anything I can get.

"Thank you, Gloria, you're not a psycho killer. Leading me to your den, right?" Gloria laughed and shook her head, denying that title.

"I'm not, dear, now buckle up and follow me. Make sure you stay behind me at all times. If you drift back, then I'll stop and wait for you." I nodded my head and started my car. After she drove off, I did the same as well. Hoping that I'm doing the right thing. Please pray for me. It was a couple of hours later when we finally arrived. I was exhausted and needed to sleep so badly that I didn't waste another second and got out of my car as soon as I parked it. Gloria asked me to follow her, which I did and even though it was dark, I could tell that this house was huge. My mind couldn't comprehend how many bedrooms might be here, I just needed to find one and take a nap.

"What did you say your friend's name was again?" Gloria asked after we made it inside. She took my coat and put it on the hanger. "Olivia West," I replied, and she nodded her head.

"She's the Beta daughter, I'll go and tell her that you're here. Please, make yourself at home." The Beta's what? Haha. Ok, I'm in another state, but that doesn't mean I have to learn another language, right? Oh shoot, what if I have to? I was once again panicking when I heard a shrill scream and what appeared to be a stampede running towards me, I braced myself for the impact as a tiny 5 '3 frame was immediately plastered against mine. I chuckled and hugged my best friend, whom I haven't seen for more than six months.

"Hey bitch, I have a problem with you," Olivia said as she pulled away from me and started dragging me to God knows where.

"Get in line, whore." I replied, making her laugh. "I told you to come in the morning. What in the ever-loving fudge muffin were you driving at this hour?" I cringed, knowing that I was in for it. I thought I was brave enough to take on the trip, but my mind had a way of twisting things around, even when it didn't appear so.

"I still made it, right?" I asked, already knowing the answer to that.

"You could have made it broken, but thanks to Gloria, you got here alright. But damn girl, your trust magnet got broken on the way here. I thought you said that you would never trust a stranger." I pouted, knowing that I went back on my words. Furthermore, I was in a bad situation at the time, like a couple of hours ago. So, what the devil was I supposed to do?

"If you were in my position, you would do the same as well. Casper could scare the shit out of you if you were the one who got lost." Ok, I don't know what I'm on, forgive me if that doesn't make any sense.

"FYI, Casper is a friendly ghost, he can't scare anyone. Just admit that you messed up big time." As if I would. We finally arrived at a room that Olivia said was going to be mine, it was right next to hers, so we were going to be neighbors. The room was spacious and fit for a princess. Everything was here that I needed, and I thank God for it because I won't be leaving this room until I'm well rested.

"Are you hungry?" Olivia asked and I shook my head.

"Tired, I'll get something to eat later," I replied. Before Olivia left, she turned to me and looked at me with pity in her eyes. My heart broke when I realized the meaning of that look.

"If you require anyone to talk to, I'm here. I know that Ethan did something to you, but I'm not sure what it was. I should have been there for you, but I failed. Not only that, but I'm sorry you had to go through that alone, babe." I smiled at her but did not reply because I didn't want to talk about that right now.

"Oh, and since you're going to be staying here, I have something important that I need to tell you. It's a secret, but now I have to tell you, so you would know exactly what's going on here. I'll see you later." She blew me a kiss before leaving. I kicked my shoes off and crawled into bed, too tired to even take a shower since I already took one before I left and my armpit wasn't smelling like goat piss, so I'm good. Trying to get comfortable on the bed, I fell asleep with a smile on my face, knowing that everything was going to be alright from now on.

Chapter 3 Destressing after a stressful day

(Gabriel)

"The party still on for Friday?" my SGT at arms Blake asked after he handed me a bottle of beer, which I greedily took.

"Yeah, just have to figure out where the poles are going, the whores will need their space and all." Blake gave me a disgusting look. He hated it when I discussed women in such a manner, sometimes I don't think before I talk.

"You just need to place them in the same spot as always, we have to invite as many people as we can." I nodded my head, already knowing that much. I guess I had plenty of things to do.

"Yeah, on stage. The last time I did that, it looked boring as fuck. Maybe I should place cages around them." Blake gave me a knowing look, at least he agreed with me about it. "I'll talk to the girls and see if they are up to it. Meanwhile, have you spoken to Jared? The boy went and got his ass handed to him over some chick he was seeing. I've warned him about it, but he won't listen to me." Jared is my road captain, and a busy one at that. He takes his job seriously, but when it comes to the ladies, he would always mess up and choose the wrong one.

"What happened?" I asked, sighing because I was feeling frustrated.

"Veronica didn't tell Jared that she was married after she had been flirting with him. She took him home and while they were having sex, her husband walked in on them. Let's just say that Jared fought hard, but the husband fought even harder. Put our poor boy in the hospital." I raised my eyebrow at Blake, wondering how I'm only hearing about this now. They are supposed to inform me if anything goes wrong while I'm away, but it seems as if they can't follow simple instructions.

"How long ago was this?" I asked, taking another sip of my beer.

"Just yesterday. Good thing we have Jefferson on our payroll, he is responsible for Jared until he gets better." Jefferson is their go-to doctor. If one of them is injured, then they would call on him to treat them. They had no idea that I'm a werewolf and could heal myself, so they thought that I was also visiting Jefferson on days when I got into fights with other club owners who wanted to take my club away.

"Yeah, what about the others?" That was a question that I shouldn't asked because I damn well knew the answer to it.

"Slade is being a jerk as always, even though he's vice president he should learn to tone his temper down a bit. He beat the crap out of three guys who wanted to jump him and had them running for the hills and all." Well, I didn't see anything wrong with that. If someone threw the first punch, it was fine to defend yourself. He's right, though, Slade is not one to mess with when he gets in one of his moods.

"I'll talk to him, anything else I should know?" I asked, finishing my beer and ordering another one. Blake raised an eyebrow at me because I usually stopped at one, not that I could get drunk or anything, but it was always my routine to have one beer. But today was stressful, because of my father.

"No, that's it, I think." He replied, and I nodded my head and started to tap my fingers on the counter. After I got my beer, I decided to leave since I had nothing else to say to Blake. I still couldn't believe that I'd come so far, I left my pack and started my club doing exactly what I've always wanted to do. My father was trying to stop me, but I showed him that I wasn't one to mess with. I get that Ashton and I were supposed to take over as Alpha, but my heart just wasn't in it. I don't know why, I didn't feel like myself whenever I was there. But, while I'm at my club, I felt like I could take on the world with my bare hands. I don't have anyone to worry about or to watch over, it wasn't as stressful as being at the pack, so I opted to be here instead. Was I wrong for doing that? Like I said, I had plenty of things on my mind, and I wasn't really paying attention to where I was going when I bumped into someone. I smiled when I noticed that it was Sophia, a woman that I'd just about come to adore. We were having a friends-with-benefits kind of relationship, we understood each other and if one of us was to start a real relationship, then the other wouldn't have a problem with it.

"Hey, I just stopped by to check on you.' Sophia said while grinning and showing me those dimples that I've always wanted to see.

"Cool, I have some concerns here that I have to deal with. Kinda stressing me out," I replied as I ran my hand through my hair.

"Your hair needs cutting, what sort of problems do you have?" I started telling her about what Blake told me earlier, she was also disappointed in Jared and Slade because of what happened. "What's done is done, though, I'm going to talk to them as soon as I see them. But now, are you here to help me de-stress?" I asked, pulling her closer to me and wrapping my arms around her. She giggled and hugged me back as best as she could. Yeah, I was a big dude with muscles in the right places. I have tattoos like I said, and I'm tall. My looks made it easy for me to get any girl that I wanted, but I wasn't going to settle down until I found my mate. I know that this was cheating, but I couldn't sit back and wait for someone who I wasn't sure was going to show up.

"Come on then, let's go up to your room. I have some new moves that I want to show you." Well, that got my dick hard. I didn't waste any time as I pulled her upstairs with me, time to have some fun.
