Chapter 1 Rise City

In Rise City, the sun just came out of its place of rest as it spread its warm rays across the bright blue sky.

Despite being that early, the city was bustling and sounds of cars moving on the streets were heard and chattering of people.

In the northern part of the city, a large palace-like mansion sat proudly on the hill and everyone could see the building no matter the corner of the city they were in.

Growling and gunshots were heard from the large building compound and the whole place was filled with different people fighting.

Among them was a beautiful silver haired lady who was dressed in a tank top and tight pants with lots of pockets.

She charged at the lady before her who was attacking her with a sword but she threw the lady she was fighting a series of punches, trying to avoid being cut by the sharp blade.

"Faster Maya, faster. Your speed isn't high enough." A masculine voice yelled and the silver haired lady just rolled her eyes inwardly.

She grabbed her opponent by the arms when she saw an opening and pinned her to the ground but before she knew it, a brown wolf charged towards her.

The wolf missed her with just an inch and she rolled down in the dust.

The brown wolf glared at her as it took a stance showing it was ready to pounce. As she focused on the wolf, the lady she pinned to the ground picked her sword swiftly and charged at her.

The silver haired lady sensed her attacks and dodged the sword that was thrusted at her and at the same time, the wolf leaping at her.

The two, sword and wolf, almost struck each other but the wolf swiftly changed her form to that of a human and ducked, rolling on the ground with the sword slicing through her skin, making a minor cut.

"Be careful next time, you could have been hurt." The silver haired lady said as she looked at the lady crouching on the ground.

"Yes, Alpha Maya."

"Maya, fist fight." Someone yelled and the silver haired lady charged at the speaker, throwing a series of punches at him.

"Thigh stand." She yelled at the person near to her who suddenly got down on one knees and she jumped up on it before kicking her opponent straight at the jaw.

Not giving up, he grabbed her hands and twisted it but she quickly broke free from his grip.

Despite being focused on the fight, she moved gracefully and elegantly. Her movement both showed domination and seriousness.

Her silver hair followed her movements, standing out from the other parts of her body.

Her opponent threw powerful punches at her and she swiftly dodged his punches making it seem like he wasn't even attacking her.

She dodged his punches and occasionally struck back before she grabbed his arm and pulled him forward while swinging her knee upwards to hit his belly region.

He swiftly swirled to the side, dodging the attack but before he could compose himself, she suddenly traps his arm between her legs and torques the elbow unnaturally, making him groan in pain.

"Maya let go."

The silver haired lady let go of him and immediately another wolf charged at her and threw her off her balance.

She immediately shifted and stood her ground. Her silver fur was beautiful and compelling and easily stood out.

Before the two wolves could pounce on each other, someone stood between them.

"Wrap it up Maya." Her aunt, Gione said before walking away.

She relaxed, then laid on the floor, shifting back to her human form. She then stood up and waved her hands, signalling she was done with her training session for the morning.

"That was nice, alpha." A man walked to her before handing her a towel, a robe and a bottle of water.

"Thank you Jerry." She patted his shoulder before cleaning her neck and hair which was soaked with sweat already. She pulled the robe on and tied it before turning to leave.

"Maya." An older masculine voice called her and she stopped in her tracks to look back at her caller.

"Good morning father." She bowed respectfully and he nodded.

"We haven't had our training session in days." Raymond, her father said and she just smirked.

"I've managed to pin you twice father and I seem to be lagging behind today. I need more training." She replied as she tossed the towel back to Jerry.

Jerry was her Omega and he was always there whenever her beta wasn't there. She apparently was busy with other things.

"You have been busy with the office and the city work so I don't blame you. You've been a good leader so far Maya." Raymond commended making her smile gently.

Maya was the supreme alpha of the werewolves living in Rise City. She was the first ever female to ever be the supreme alpha and she had to fight for this position.

The Rise City pack was the strongest along with the Black Sun pack and they would stop at nothing to retain their reputation of being strong.

"Are you sure you aren't too tired of managing the city's affairs and your company's affairs? I can assist you while..."

"No need to worry about me, father. I have been doing a great job since all these days and you can't deny that either." Maya cut him off as she put up her hair to allow fresh air.

"Still, I am strong enough to handle the affairs of the city." Raymond tried to reason with his daughter.

"I am an Alpha father. Little work like this shouldn't be what you should be worried about. You know I can do it." Maya assured as she hugged her father gently.

"Alright darling. Any luck yet? About your ma..."

A brown wolf ran into the field like it was being chased into the place. Raymond stopped talking when he saw his daughter shift her attention from him to her beta who she caught sight of.

"Phoebe." Maya walked towards the wolf who shifted immediately she heard her alpha call.

Someone handed her a robe and she wore it hurriedly before bowing.

"Alpha Maya." Phoebe, her beta, called between trying to catch her breath. "There is a problem."

"What is the problem?" Maya asked with raised brows.

"Rogues."

That only meant one thing. A fight.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Maya asked Phoebe as she examined her.

She had a few cuts which had started healing slowly. Normally, it should have healed but it was a cut from a Rogue which slowed down the process of healing.

"I'm fine Alpha but their force seemed to have increased, but still, the men were able to hold them back at the borders." Phoebe explained and Maya nodded gently.

Maya had sent Phoebe to the border immediately it was dawn to go see how things were doing there and now she returned with a piece of very bad but useful news.

"Get the men, we're leaving for the borders." Maya commanded in her alpha tone. Making the rest of them training terrified for a moment despite being used to it.

About hundreds of wolves rushed out of the pack mansion a few minutes later and they were led by a silver wolf whose speed was insanely faster than the rest of them.

Although she tried to reduce her speed, it still showed. She wanted to reach the borders as fast as she could to check you on her men.

The main reason the people of Rise City liked her rule was that she was a caring ruler and didn't find herself too Superior to care about those under her.

The pack of wolves ran through another route where they could see the whole city below them. They didn't want to alert the people that something was wrong.

Maya looked down at the bustling city as she ran along with the pack. After an almost half an hour race, they got to the main building at the border, created for the soldiers to camp.

As soon as they got there, Maya shifted and took a cloth to put on. The men were immediately aware that the Alpha was around and they all assembled outside.

The men standing guard at the border bowed in respect as they saw her. Maya didn't even look at them, she just walked to the general.

"Why did they get closer this time?" Maya asked the general who just stepped out of his office.

"Greetings Alpha Maya." The general bowed in respect before leading her to the Rogue they caught.

He was still in his animal form, glaring at Maya deadly.

"Shift into your human form now." Maya commanded but he just snarled at her and she got his words, saying. "You don't order me around."

Maya rolled her eyes before walking to the blazing furnace by where the man was tied. She pulled out a silver rod as she covered her hands.

The men around knew Maya's brutality when it comes to torture and punishment. They couldn't help but pity the Rogue who didn't know what he got himself into.

Maya smirked as she swung the rod, making it hit the Rogue's chest with a hard bang, but it wasn't hard enough to kill him.

He howled in pain and immediately shifted from his animal form to his human form. The burn made by the silver rod was visible and burning.

Maya smirked triumphantly as she returned the rod to the fire. "Now tell me. The Rogues came back stronger, what is behind their powers?"

"I'd rather... die... than tell it... to you." He groaned in pain. The mark Maya inflicted on him burned him to the bones and it wasn't healing at all.

"Too bad none of your others came back to tell you how brutal I am when torturing, young man." Maya stood before him and raised his chin to look at her.

"Tell me what I need to know and I might decide to let you live but if you decide to be against me and you decide death. I'll have to make you beg for this opportunity I'm giving you again."

"Now let's try again shall we." Maya took the rod and swung it on the same wounded spot again and he let out an ear-piercing scream with the animal in him howling along.

"Will you tell me the truth now or you choose the other option I gave you? I'll tell you again, I am a brutal Alpha and I don't care if you're a living thing."

"I won't... ever tell you the... truth." He forced out again and Maya snapped her fingers and he was let loose.

Maya grabbed his brown long hair and dragged him along, towards the little house beside the camp house.

"No one should follow me. I'm dealing with him myself." Maya warned as she stepped into the small house.

A few minutes later, they could hear howling and screaming from the house despite the house being far into the ground.

After half an hour, Maya walked out of the room with a satisfied smirk and blood all over her hands.

"He isn't dead. Once he wakes up, ask the nurse to treat him." Maya ordered the general who nodded obediently.

The new men there couldn't help but be afraid of the Alpha they had. She looked sweet and innocent like she would never torture anyone that much.

Although her aura commanded respect and held her alpha traits in it, none of them could believe what she just did. And she was even asking the nurse.to treat him so she would torture him more.

"Isn't that too much Alpha? We surely would get information out of another one if they walk close to the territory." Phoebe asked but all Maya did was a smirk.

"I did like the torture though. It's been weeks since I tortured someone last." Maya licked her lips as she washed off the blood on her.

"Erm, you still did that a few days ago." Phoebe recalled as Maya gulped down a bottle of water.

"The morning is still young Phoebe, I have to enjoy my day." Maya stretched. "Any news?"

"Yes there is. Peter sent news from the office to remind you today is the meeting with all the boards of partners of the entertainment industries." Phoebe informed her.

"Good then. Arrange my car, I'll be attending the meeting myself right after I get to my company."

Chapter 2 Black Sun

In the neighboring city, Black Sun. Just like Rise City, the whole city was bustling already. The city has lots of tall buildings, hotels, and companies scattered around.

Five cars drove towards the biggest entertainment car. Everyone's attention was drawn to the expensive-looking cars as they passed on the highway.

As the cars pulled up before the large company, the guards hurriedly opened the door to the car in the middle of the five cars.

The people around felt an invisible force push them back as a black expensive shoe stepped down from the car.

A man got out of the car and no one around dared to look at him. He smoothened his shirt as he rolled up the sleeves of his ink-black shirt. He looked up as he ran his fingers across his jet-black hair.

The company had a nameplate placed at the far top. "Moonlight Entertainment Industry."

He looked around gently before walking to the revolving door leading into the large company.

His movement commanded respect and authority. He shoved his hands into his pockets before stepping into the building.

Those around immediately bowed their heads as they noticed his presence. He didn't say a word as he walked towards his private elevator.

"Alpha Roland is just so hot." One of the ladies whispered to the one standing next to her as she watched the elevator doors close before his handsome face.

"His mate will be so lucky to have him." Another lady said with a dreamy smile.

"I would have made my move on him but he is just too cold."

"If you are tired of your job, please do. He won't mind ending your contract."

Roland could clearly hear what they were saying despite being far away now. He removed his attention from them and stared up at the elevator showing the floor he was on.

As soon as the elevator stop at the top floor, Roland stepped out and walked down the hallway. He looked outside the window, looking down at the whole city before turning right.

"Alpha Roland." His beta, Ryker, bowed as he walked in.

Roland didn't say a word, he just walked into his office and sat behind his desk. He turned back to look down at the bustling city.

"These are the files you have to review. The new movie will start shooting by tomorrow." Ryker informed and Roland nodded, still not saying a word.

Ryker waited patiently for him to complete his silence phase. Ryker still wondered why out of all the businesses he was offered to take over, he decided to take over the movie industry owned by his mother.

Ryker could guess the reason why but Roland would never talk about the reason why.

"Any other news?" Roland's cold and authoritative voice finally sounded in his ears, making him look up.

Roland turned to face the files on his table as he started sorting them out one after the other.

"Gianna would be bringing other files related to the company later but we got some news from Rise City." Ryker said while looking at him for permission to proceed.

Roland looked up then rested his back in his seat with a raised brow.

"They were attacked by Rogues today." Ryker informed Roland and he raised his eyebrows in interest.

"So what did their alpha do about it?" Roland asked.

"They did win against them and caught one of the Rogues whom I heard is being tortured by Alpha Maya." Ryker informed Roland, who threw his head back in laughter.

"A woman trying to show she's superior. So cute." Roland chuckled before facing the files on his table.

"Alpha Maya isn't weak Alpha. She is just as fierce as any other male alphas." Ryker defended. He had seen Maya fight once or twice and he had to commend her skills.

"She is a woman, Ryker. She'll have to prove me wrong on her own, not by your words. Any other thing left?" Roland asked.

"None for now alpha." Ryker replied and Roland waved his hands to wave him off. Ryker bowed before walking out of the office.

Roland then returned to looking down at the city with his hands crossed before him.

He had done his best in keeping the city in shape since his father stepped down from his position and handed it over to him.

The rogues were bad news and he was willing to do anything to shut them out for good. He had to sit well and strategize.

'Report back to my office.' He said to Ryker through their mind link and Ryker soon walked back into the office with a mug of tea.

Ryker sipped from the mug gently with raised brows. "I see you brought out your rebellious side this time." Roland rolled his eyes before turning to face him.

"No, I'm just being neutral." Ryker replied.

"I was starting to wonder where the nosy you went. Well anyways, send more men to guard the borders. Those rogues can not be trusted. No one knows how they'll strike again." Roland turned on his computer and the CCTV footage of the entrance of the company played before him.

A blonde lady stepped out of her car and he recognized her immediately.

"And make sure she doesn't come near this floor today or you'll be dying by my hands." Roland threatened to make Ryker gulp the tea hard.

"Jess?" Ryker asked but Roland didn't reply to him.

"Just do as you were told."

As soon as Ryker walked out, a lady walked in. She was dressed in a suit skirt and a white shirt that had two of its buttons undone.

"Those going for the meeting in Rise City would be leaving now alpha." She said as she dropped a black folder on his table.

Roland picked it up and quickly scanned through the file swiftly.

"Would you like to make any changes before they leave?" The lady, Gianna asked him.

"Arrange my car. I'll be going to the meeting myself."

On the other side, at Rise City.

"The meeting will be held at CN hotel." Phoebe informed Maya as they walked into the mansion.

The main room was filled with maids who were cleaning and they bowed upon seeing their aloha walk in.

"I have to go to the company first before going to the meeting. And besides, the meeting isn't this morning right?" Maya asked as they walked up the grand stairs.

"The meeting starts at 2 pm so there's still time." Phoebe said as they got to the landing of the stairs.

Maya stopped in her tracks and looked up at the large picture placed on the wall of the landing. It was a picture of her sitting comfortably on a throne-like chair.

"Would you like to go see Luna and Alpha Raymond first?" Phoebe asked and Maya nodded before they took the left side of the stairs.

They arrived at a medium-sized living room where a woman in her mid-fifties sat, knitting. Her red hair was up in a messy bun and she seemed to be so engrossed in the knitting she was doing.

"Mother." Maya called and she looked up immediately she heard her daughter's voice.

"Maya baby." She stood up, dropping the things in her hands before hugging her daughter. "Your father told me you went to the borders."

"Yes, mother."

"Hey, you." Her mother, Scarlett called the maid to clean the vase nearby. "Get some juice for Maya."

"Yes madam." The maid bowed before walking away and Scarlett's mind linked Raymond to come to the living room.

Raymond soon stepped out of one of the rooms down the hallway which they could clearly see.

"You're back Maya. Any news?" Raymond asked as he adjusted his shirt.

"One of the Rogues was captured but he refused to speak and he is being treated for all his wounds." Maya smiled triumphantly.

"The wounds you gave him." Phoebe replied and Raymond chuckled.

"So what is your plan on this Rogue issue Maya?" Raymond asked, making Maya sit back in her chair with her legs crossed on one another.

"Well father, it doesn't please me to see those rogues trying to ruin everything but there really is nothing we can do than fight them and prevent them from harming the citizens." Maya said.

"But Maya, they will keep on doing the same thing and soon they'll get..."

"Father, I get you are worried but there is nothing we can actually do. You don't expect us to clear the entire race of Rogues and rebellious werewolves? No. There's no way it's possible." Maya cut her father off.

"I will figure something out father, no need to worry. Trust me on it all."

Maya stood up and Phoebe did the same from where she sat and they both walked down the stairs before walking in the opposite direction.

The whole part was only for Maya, and despite having lots of rooms in it, she made it all empty.

She loved her peace and owning the whole wing was enough for her.

Although she gave Phoebe and her mate Peter the first room on the wing, they both rarely spent time around.

"Get my white car ready by the time I'm done dressing." Maya said before walking to her room.

Maya closed the golden double doors behind her before taking off the robe on her.

She hung it on the coat rack before walking to the terrace door where she opened the golden glass doors to let the fresh morning breeze in.

She looked out at the forest behind the building and smiled before walking into the bathroom.

An hour later, a white Rolls Royce drove towards Nova designs. It was one of the largest design companies in the whole city and one of the best in the world.

They design and make dresses, shoes, bags, and other fashion accessories. Everyone knew the company wasn't just any kind of company.

Maya stepped out of the white Rolls Royce and handed the keys over to one of her guards.

"Welcome, Alpha Maya." One of the security bowed to greet her and she nodded.

As soon as everyone in the company heard Maya was outside the company already, they made sure everything was perfect upon her entry.

Maya walked majestically into the company and no one could deny the fact that she was hot and beautiful.

She was wearing a white suit short skirt with a jacket draped over her shoulders and a black sleeveless top underneath. Her white heels sounded solemn as she took each step and everyone bowed to her.

As the owner of the company, of course, she had to look her best.

No one could tell her she got her fame and all because she was the werewolf in power because she was this popular before she got to the position and within five years, her company gained its ground.

Maya got to her office and sank into her chair with a loud sigh.

"Oh my goodness. There's a very long day ahead of me." She said as she took the file with Phoebe and opened it.

"That is the project we would be sponsoring Moonlight on." Phoebe explained.

"They don't even need sponsors because they already have a freaking rich boss but it seems he is just making the sponsorships an avenue for other companies to promote themselves." Maya rolled her eyes.

"We won't be sponsoring them."

"You can't do that. No matter how it seems, it is going to boost our sales for the new designs." Phoebe tried to reason, making Maya roll her eyes, and giving her a cue to proceed.

"And there will be the biggest project of the year, Project 23 coming up. The probability that it would be spoken about in this meeting is very high." Phoebe said and Maya nodded.

"Have the designing team start working on the newest designs. The best will be the product we would be launching for the big Project 23." Maya ordered and Phoebe nodded. "We need something more unique than last year's project 22."

Chapter 3 Mate

Before 2 pm in Rise City, different expensive cars were already arriving at the CH hotel.

The airports welcomed big investors as they headed towards the meeting venue.

Maya sat in her car with her eyes focused on the screen of her phone. They already arrived at the location but she decided to stay in the car for a while.

"You aren't even looking at these people." Phoebe nudged Maya who looked up at the people getting into the hotel.

"Of all places they could hold a meeting, it's in a hotel." Maya rolled her eyes as she dropped her phone in her bag.

"So it'll be easier for those from a long distance to lodge in the hotel. Besides, they booked the whole restaurant for the meeting." Phoebe said but Maya was indifferent.

Maya watched for a few more minutes with her arms folded across her chest. She suddenly pulled open the door and stepped out, and Phoebe followed.

Everyone's attention was drawn to the young and beautiful woman who walked majestically towards the entrance of the hotel.

"Alpha Maya." Someone called her attention and she saw a man in his thirties approach her. "It's so good to see you here."

"It's so good to see you too here Jax." Maya forced a smile at him.

"After our last partnership, we haven't really gotten in touch and you blocked my calls." The man, Jax said with a slight smirk. "Good thing we met again. I wasn't expecting you to attend the meeting since..."

"If you would excuse me, Jax." Maya cut him off before she walked away.

Jax licked his lips as he watched her walk away and he couldn't deny the fact that she was not in that dress of hers.

"Isn't Sir Jax shameful at all? He was just looking at Alpha Maya with lust."

"I heard that he is a womanizer and slept with most of his female employees."

"What a man." The women whispered as they watched Jax also step into the hotel.

The visitors were all led to the restaurant with assigned tables but the meeting was yet to start.

People walked around saying hi to each other and conversing like they normally do in gatherings. It looked like the bosses of the companies attended the meeting more this time.

"How would I look if I'm already regretting coming to this meeting?" Maya sighed as she took a glass of champagne from the passing waiter.

"Alpha Maya." A woman dressed in a beautiful red dress Maya could recognize was one of their limited designs, sat before her with two other women.

"It is so nice to see you here Maya. I would love to speak with you one on one." The other woman said and Maya just nodded.

"You seem to be doing a good job ruling and at the same time managing your company. I really admire you, Maya."

"Thank you very much. I appreciate the compliment." Maya smiled gracefully as she looked around, scanning her environment.

The women before her kept on talking and chattering, involving her in their gossip but she just wasn't interested.

A few men approached her and spoke to her for some while about business and other things.

"It's past 2 am already?" Maya asked Phoebe so she would find a reason to leave even before the meeting started.

"Five more minutes." Phoebe replied, making Maya facepalm.

"Maybe it really was a bad idea that I came. You should have just represented me." Maya complained.

She knew Maya well that being in places filled with other rich business people from across the country was torture for her.

Being a very successful person, they would want to talk to her either about business or for their son to marry her, if possible, she should even marry them, old men.

"If just an ordinary meeting is like this, how will you cope with the annual party Alpha Raymond throws?" Phoebe asked as she looked at Maya staring at her time.

"It's time already." As soon as she said that, everyone started settling down quietly and gently as they faced the stage.

Roland's cars drove into Rise City after two hours of driving from Black Sun. He tapped his fingers against the steering wheel as he focused on the road.

"Maybe coming isn't the best idea." He sighed as he looked out the window despite driving.

He hadn't visited Rise City in years even though his family came frequently, he remained in Black Sun dealing with one affair or the other.

He had grown up visiting Rise City frequently but he just didn't find anything interesting in visiting there again and he didn't even know the reason he accepted to come to the meeting on his own.

"Which hotel is holding the meeting?" Roland asked through the earbuds in his ears.

"CH."

Back in the hotel, Phoebe whispered to Maya some rumors she heard.

"I heard the CEO of Moonlight industry would be coming to the meeting today." Phoebe whispered and Maya looked around.

"That's just a silly rumor. They will start the meeting officially in five minutes and he's not here yet." Maya rolled her eyes.

"They might be late or something due to crossing the borders, you know. Rogues attack their city borders too so they might come across them." Mils reasoned but Maya just rolled her eyes and sipped from her champagne flute.

Roland's car drove towards the CH hotel as he tapped his fist against the steering wheel. He seemed pissed for a reason but didn't say a word as he stopped the car.

"Get my penthouse ready by the time I'm done here." He tossed the keys to Ryker who nodded before getting back into his car.

Gianna rushed out of her car and followed behind him with her iPad in her hands.

"Why are they delaying the start of the meeting again?" Maya growled angrily.

"You should..."

Maya didn't hear any other words Phoebe was uttering, her senses picked something new and hypnotic. She had never felt something like that before.

'What's this new feeling?' She asked in her head.

Roland felt the same thing as he walked towards the venue and as soon as he stepped into the restaurant, he understood it all.

"Mate."
